Bad customer service the lady on the phone who provides the quote is quiet unpleasant to speak to. I asked what was provided with certain services and I had to keep asking questions for her to respond because she wasn't letting me know what the service provided. Just overall bad energy... The moral of this story is to either have surveillance or someone at the house when you hire a cleaning service you have never used before. NY Brite has the worst customer service I have ever seen! I hired the company to do a 4 hour deep clean b/w 9am- 1pm focusing on dusting and vacuuming every inch of the house because I have 2 cats. I noticed on the camera feed around 1235pm that one of my cats was meowing very loudly like it was in distress. Sounded like he was trapped in the hallway or somewhere in the house. I called the NYBrite and told them to call the cleaning lady and to make sure the 2 cats are accounted for before she leaves. Never heard back from them and I saw that she left. I left work early because I had a bad feeling. Sure enough, my cat was locked inside my Ikea wardrobe closet for 3 hours by the time I got home. Not sure how he even got oxygen because the closet was shut tight. I called and spoke to Lina/Lima and explained the situation along with the shotty job the cleaning lady Suzanne did which I will get into. She told me she asked Suzanne the cleaning lady and that she saw both cats before she left. I explained to the lady that she was lying obviously because the cat doesn't have hands to close or open a sliding closet door and I also can see it on my camera that the closet was locked when she left. Even after that she said, "she would never lie about that. And it's not her responsibility to take care of your cats" and I said "it's not her responsibility to kill them either" She offered to send a supervisor for a free one hour cleaning. I said that I didn't want someone in my house that is calling me a liar. So I told her to give me back $25 of the $125 they charged me. She agreed. I said I would stop payment on the check and write her a new one or pay $100 with my credit card immediately. She said no, that she would mail me a check and I would get it by Wednesday. I told her that I bet she never mails it and I would be writing a bad review on Yelp for sure. This was Monday and now it's Friday, I haven't gotten s$&t! List of how terrible the cleaning person is So slow - I stayed in the house the first hour. She was himming and hawing the whole time. I took her an hour just to do my tiny bathroom and I saw her using glass cleaner on my floor. I pointed out all of my cleaning supplies like swiffer dry and wet pads. Fabuloso spic and span murphys oil. She had an array to chose from for the floor. Didn't use them. My granite countertops had residue, she used the bleach cleaner instead of the granite cleaner I had there. She never touched under the bed, under my entertainment center, under the couch, under my dressers, my closet. Which is the whole reason I hired her so I didn't have crawl and get rid of dust and cat hair in those hard to reach places. She filled two trash bags with bounty paper towels. I had a 6 pack and she wasted so much paper towel instead of using swiffer, microfiber cloths and sponges I had left out for her. She was sweeping my floor with the swiffer completely empty without a wet or dry refill attached to it ( see attached picture) And the best part of all. She stopped cleaning and changed out of her clothes at 12:35pm which is why she never heard the cat crying. She was in the bathroom freshening up. ( see attached picture. She was wearing a pink shirt to clean and a black sweater to leave) So I give NY Brite 2 stars because she actually came on time and did some cleaning. But I would not recommend them because they don't take direction well and they don't believe in the customer being right, especially when they have it all on tape. They also didn't refund the $25 they promised. They are very lucky that nothing happened to my cat! read more

Don't waste your money here. I am sure there are dozens of other places in NYC that provide a much better service. Pick any other service and you will be better off (or at least it can't be worse). I would write additional details, but this place have already wasted enough of my time and money. NY Brite was hired to do a deep clean of our apt after a painting job and to make it ready for staging to sell the apartment. They did GREAT!! I'd give them more than 5 stars if possible. They cleaned the greasy kitchen, wiped down all the cabinets in the entire apartment, cleaned out the kitchen and bathroom cabinets or organized everything so neatly! They got all the contractor dust and we can breathe again. The ladies were so pleasant! I'd definitely recommend them for any cleaning service! read more

Terrible. Just some of the rudest and most inefficient service i have ever gotten. Oh and I'm out almost $200 and for that i got my bathroom cleaned. Let me explain - We had people coming over and since we had our baby we have not had as much time to clean as we would have liked so we called (last minute) so see if we could have a service come. NY Brite responded because they had a cancellation and called at 9am for a 10:30 am appointment. Great! We had an appointment at 1:40 - so the timing was important for a three hour appointment to end by 1:30. The Woman who was claning our house showed up half an hour late, was not told what she was doing, for how much and was not told about our timing issues. She was sweet and well intentioned, but the office screwed her and me... We called to tell them that we were missing out on half an hour so they offered to take $10 off and then hung up on my wife. The Cleaner spent an hour on the bathroom (because she was not told about the timing and i was not hovering over her) and then did a VERY rushed job on the floor and the kitchen (nothing else) and i literally had to leave her in the hall to pack up because i was going to be late...and this all cost me $175...(including $40 for supplies, including a vacuum cleaner that didn't work) sick The issue isn't the mistake - the issue is the TERRIBLE and rude customer service (literally hung up on us twice) didn't communicate with the maid, overcharged etc etc...nasty read more

I am actually shocked to read the bad reviews about NY Brite. I first heard of them from an old boss of mine. She asked me to call them to do a post construction clean up of an apartment she was about to move in to. I actually dreaded making the call and scheduling them because this woman is so hard to please. I felt sorry for them because I really felt no matter how well they did my old boss wouldn't be satisfied. WRONG! She sent me an e-mail that night after her move was over telling me how great her place looked. When I decided to hire a cleaning service this year I went with them. I have been using them for a months now and have never been disappointed. Since I have been using them I have been sent a few different girls. Every single one of them has been very nice and done a great job. In fact on several occasions they have gone above and beyond what I asked them to do. The reviews that say nothing got done just make no sense to me at all. I am clear with them what I want them to do, make sure I am realistic about how much time it's going to take someone to do what I want done, and most of all treat them with respect and I have always been happy. This review is for the after construction cleaning. They came as and when promised for a free consultation. Shortly after I received an email giving me a price quote. 3 workers for a maximum of 8 hours: $745. They came when promised, and worked for 8 hours. The first few hours they didn't have much speed, but in the last hour they sped up. This was for a 3 story brownstone. They were very friendly. A bit pushy when trying to get me to schedule a time. I have used NY Brite for over twenty years and have seen a marked decrease in their service. Foremost is that their cleaning people keep changing constantly- so that you never have a chance to get to know them or them to know you and what you expect of them. Their workers are all very nice, lovely people, but the cleaning has been shoddy lately. In addition, they always used to email you the day before for a confirmation so that has stopped. I've had to email them to make sure they would be coming and last week wrote an email talking about the quality of service and they never responded. I really want them to get better, but something is wrong in that company and it's spilling over to the customer. read more

I have used this company for many years, typically the cleaners range from acceptable to out of this world, old style CLEAN! However, 2 times within the last 2 years, they have "goofed" and not shown up . Last year, their computer system crashed right before Passover/Easter and so I was stuck. They offered $80 off the next cleaning but I had to call several times for them to actually follow thru with it as there were no notes in the computer. records. Beyond frustrating! Last week, again right before Passover, I scheduled 2 cleanings but when I called to confirm they had no record. HOw does this happen?! I was furious and was again offered a discount. They were able to cover 1 of the cleanings but could not schedule the other when I needed it so I ended up paying for 3 hours and getting only 2 hours. They would not do it for less than the minimum or for free. The supervisor was not easy to reach- I had to ask several times. They seemed sorry but not really willing to go above and beyond to compensate for the STRESS and THEIR error! The company seemed more upset about a bad Yelp review than about making true amends, as if making the effort was equal to doing what was expected. They clearly need a better computer system, better trained people who make the reservations. easier supervisor access and a better policy to compensate for errors! The office employees are very friendly, they always try to find the best suitable cleaners for my apartment. They are available to make changes in case of an emergency. The cleaners are reliable. They show up for work on time and are prepared to complete their work in a timely manner. They are also very helpful in providing tips on how to keep your place nice and clean. Have you ever gone to the dry cleaners in your neighborhood and saw the cashier behind the counter wearing an article of clothing you know you submitted to have them clean? Well, I have and guess where? You betcha' New York Brite! They suck ass too! Why? Oh maybe cause they think I don't live in the neighborhood. But, I do know I asked them several times when I lost my ticket did they have my jacket. "No we keep a record of everything." So, I believed them. I thought well I screwed up and lost my ticket my bad. Fast forward 6 months: Wholly shit!! That's my "Blue and White, Limited Edition Big Man North Face" This dude is wearing my stuff. They used to be five stars and worth the spend. Now (for the level of service they're supposedly providing) they are overpriced. Last time I hired them, the cleaner was late. Therefore she couldn't get the extra cleaning done I needed--which was why I requested extra hours in the first place. This week the cleaner came, and while I was in the other room, she was rearranging cabinets, and she rearranged cleaning supplies. Now when I went to put the vacuum away, she had put garbage in the cabinet where the vacuum goes. I had to move the mess she made. Same thing under the sink---supplies I use every day now unreachable. I have to move everything around again. This is a waste of her time and mine. Ok what about the cleaning itself... Meanwhile she supposedly spent an hour on the kitchen. I came to check... Only the countertop area had been "cleaned" and it was still dirty in places. Knife caddy dusty. The microwave still wasn't cleaned and I just scrubbed it spotless myself right now. The appliances were hastily wiped but coffee maker still has smudges. I sent her home after an hour of this "cleaning." Now I get to waste my time putting things back where they belong. First rule of cleaning: move stuff, clean the place where it was, move it back exactly where you found it. I am not paying you to "organize." For instance: who would shove a fire extinguisher all the way in the back under the sink? If there is a kitchen fire, how are we supposed to find the extinguisher? No, you would rather have us burn to death. Never again. read more

I used this company for a 'move-in clean' based on a recommendation from my broker. They were WAY more expensive than any other place, but I wanted a good job done and figured since I had the recommendation, why not splurge this once. They were scheduled to do a 'deep cleaning' of my house, refrigerator and stove pre move-in (i.e. there was no furniture). I have a lot of custom cabinets/shelves in my kitchen, living room and bedroom which was one of the reasons I specifically wanted to hire a professional cleaning company. They charged me over $600 for 3 people to clean for 6-7 hours each. When I returned there was old food in the refrigerator (all they had done was wiped a wet rag on the shelves), dustballs in the cabinets (they hadn't even attempted to clean inside!) and a dirty/greasy stove (you could literally see the old grease and just to prove the point there were old french fries in the bottom of the stove!). It was awful. I had to call and have a manager come back to do the cleaning himself! Even he admitted he was apalled at what was neglected. Worse part is, they wouldn't refund part of what I paid (because I had to clean all those shelves myself since I was moving and unpacking the next day which was a weekend and I couldn't have someone back until the next week). They are the ABSOLUTE WORST! The office manager (different than the guy who came back and did all the cleaning) yelled at me for cleaning the shelves myself (for which I wanted a refund for) b/c he said I should have just had someone come back to finish the job right. Are you kidding me?? You can do way better for this price - if you live in Brooklyn, try out Si Se Puede - better service and much cheaper. read more

They are hard-working and always on time, NY Brite is highly dependable, extremely trustworthy and pays close attention to details. They are true professional and an expert at making homes look nice, and always goes beyond what is necessary to make things clean and neat. We hired NY Brite recently after our floors were done. We paid for two people to come in and asked them to focus on surfaces. As they admitted they left the job a half hour early - as there was nothing left to do? I have photos of dust on my hand and writing in dust on a mirror that they somehow missed. I've never used a cleaning service in NYC before. I had a cleaning person, but then she moved back to her home country. The first time I used NY Brite was for a "move out" clean, when I was subleasing my apt. The woman showed up early and did a great job. The second time I used them was recently. I was in the process of hiring a regular cleaning person, when there was a misunderstand about whether she was coming to our place to clean or to be interviewed. I thought the former; she thought the latter. I was in a pinch with out of town guests arriving the next day. I called NY Brite around 5:45 and they were able to send someone at 7:30am the next day. This woman showed up right on time, which frankly I didn't expect. She was a lovely person and did a great job. The service is a little more expensive than having a regular cleaning person, but not by much. Plus, I think they probably do a much better job. read more

I have used NY Brite about 6 or 7 times and I have NEVER been disappointed. I have had 3 different cleaners, each of which was very thorough and very pleasant. My favorites were Ana and Adela. I find the staff at NY Brite to be very easy to deal with and they make it very easy for me to schedule appointments, even when I have been a little "last minute" about it. The cleaners have always been prompt and prepared and super nice. I keep going back. It is addictive to have someone else spend hours cleaning your apartment. read more

Oen of the worst interactions I've had with a service company in a long time. Cleaners worked very slowly (apparently to get us to buy more hours) and did an absolutely lousy job (like dust bunnies and grease stains and never cleaned the oven lousy job). They left the sink filled with dirty soapy water because they didn't clean out the trap (and didn't mention it) and they threw out food we had cooked for dinner without asking and without mentioning it. I will never use them again. (Also, it used to be that you paid the company and they paid the cleaners. Now you pay the cleaners directly in cash. It seems a bit sketchy). read more

I've been using NY Brite for about a year. Bathrooms and floors are always spotless when they're done and the kids' rooms (which are disaster areas) are neat and tidy. The only quibble I really have is that they're not always on time or leave a few minutes early, but not a huge deal. Recently, an expensive watch was misplaced by us (probably fell off night table) and when NY Brite was done, it was on the night table. This level of honestly alone makes them a great service in my book. I took their card & told them I would recommend them to anyone. They were very meticulous and spent extra time in the bathtub and the top of the fridge, as I asked. Everything looked and smelled fresh afterwards, no more dust bunnies, even under the bed! Overpriced for what they deliver. Two items were broken, one was repaired (vacuumn) on the spot after quite a bit of yelling between themselves. I'm sure they thought their pay would be docked and I don't begrudge them this concern. But not to take some responsibility over the episode was annoying. Later I found a glass encased tchotcki I own cracked at two corners, clearly not touched except by one of the workers. They left scum on the bathroom floors, did not mop the wood floors even though I specifically requested it. They did not dust window sills or blinds. I think they lost about a 1/2 hr arguing over and trying to fix the vacuumn. They didn't stay longer to compensate. When you pay $115 an hour for two workers, you expect these things to be done. They did a great job on the showers, an good job on the kitchen but left the living room for last and it shows. I won't hire them again because of the broken item unreported and the sloppy finish. read more
