Unfortunately over the years the spare bedroom turned into "the room where you put stuff that doesn't belong in the other rooms." I didn't even know where to begin. After hearing about some of the great work Katie did with my friends, I decided to hire her to help. By the end of the day, Katie and I had the room completely empty! She also gave me several great tips and ideas on how to keep the nursery clean and organized too. When my wife came home that evening, she cried tears of joy and said, "I can't believe you were able to do this in just one day." She was so fantastic that we decided to hire her to do the rest of the house after we had our first child. Now our closets, cabinets, and drawers are all organized and clean! Our lives are de-cluttered and its all thanks to Katie. She has a great way of working with people that pushes you to confront tasks that you normally wouldn't do or think of, but is totally non-confrontational. I don't know how she does it. Katie is patient and kind and knows just the right way to work with all types personalities. My wife is very type-A and was a bit skeptical hiring Katie back for the entire house because she thought she could do it all on her own. After the first day of working with Katie, my wife called me and her first words to me when I picked up the phone were, "BEST. DECISION. EVER!" We also liked working with Katie because she helped us organize things in a way that was compatible with our lifestyle. Plus, not only did we get organized, we stay organized because of the strategies that Katie put in place. What more can I say? If you need help organizing a room, a closet, an entire house or office, and want a strategy in place for keeping it organized, then I highly recommend hiring Katie.

I'm not much of a pack rat, so didn't imagine I had much to get rid of. After reviewing the apt. we decided the time would actually be best spent cleaning out my closet. She explained that once she helps people sort and get rid of some stuff they usually don't even need to spend money on storage containers and extra furniture. In one hour and 40 minutes we did what would have taken me 2 weeks to do on my own. My closet looks amazing and she had great ideas for storage using what I already had. I also had bags and bags of stuff to donate - which I did that same day - while still motivated. We used the remainder of the time to plot out the next steps in my reorganization for me to do on my own. I've now used the tactics she taught me to reorganize a dresser and vanity. I plan to have her back when I redecorate next month, so she can help me figure out how to best utilize my storage space. I recommend her very highly. The mental space she will save you is well worth the cost. coming home to an organized space is a truly amazing feeling, and leaves me free to focus on things I'd rather be doing. Also, she's sweet, fun, and funny. Emily has a good sense of style, and was able to help me make the call on a few articles of clothing. She makes a task that would be otherwise uncomfortable, very pleasant and rewarding. Total pro.

I had a really tight budget, next to no furniture, eclectic taste, and no clue where to start. I felt totally lost, and knew I couldn't afford to do any of it twice. Rachel came over and helped me with everything from paint colors, to layout, to furniture choice. She was confident we could do it within my budget, and we did. She worked with my budget, showing me where we could find savings, and when it was worth it to invest. She showed me to how to use layout to make the space feel twice as big (turns out, I had room for a reading nook-- it became my favorite place in the apartment). She told me exactly what size and shape of couch (and end table...and media center...) to look for, to open up the room and make it inviting. She was right on every count. I think most importantly, she *really listened* when I brought up an aesthetic preference or a budget limit, and was amazing at pivoting to an innovative solution. I never felt alone in making a decision, which gave me confidence and peace of mind. But I also never once felt strong-armed into a choice. And looking at the finished product, it really is my space. Now, I get compliments whenever someone walks in-- whether they're there for the first time, or had seen it before the transformation and can't believe their eyes. Jeni helped me set aside a few piles of paper and such that I need to tackle on my own, and she armed me with a plan to make this project manageable. Not only did Jeni help me tackle this project, she efficiently reorganized many of my other storage spaces to keep me on the organized track. During the time we worked together, she had great ideas and implemented those ideas right on the spot; hanging up hooks, hammering in nails to hang artwork, and created an outbox in an area I would never have thought of. So, a week before I am supposed to move, I hired Genius Organizing (specifically Julia) to help me organize/sort through my belongings/pack for my move. She was fantastic and upbeat, and absolutely non-judgmental! We went through a LOT of stuff during our first session of four hours, but ultimately there was just too much to do. Thankfully, Julia is available on Thursday for another session to help me complete my packing the night before my move. The session was very productive and it was go, go, go, non-stop--I really enjoyed working with Julia and I'm definitely starting to feel good about my inventory of things. We've thrown our 4-5 big garbage bags full of items and I am preparing to donate 2 additional enormous bags full of clothes! Amazing.
