To quote my building's move out inspector: "Your cleaner did not do a good job." Two of us who were there also agreed. Team Clean NYC's lackluster work included basically the entire kitchen remaining dirty, the floors having debris, and the cleaner breaking a panel off of the cabinets. While that stuff itself is disappointing, the real cherry on top is the company not interested in doing anything but defending the work. EDIT DUE TO RESPONSE: 1. We came back at the time that he told us, if he wasn't done then, that is not on us, and we were glad to wait however long needed. It simply wasn't communicated. For example, if he didn't want us there while he was cleaning, he could have given us a time to come back when he was done, finished on time, or simply asked for more time before we came back. We're sorry if stopping by, tipping him, and saying good work caused an uncomfortable environment. 2. We knew about the cabinet and could have explicitly mentioned it in the email, however not only is it clearly not a cabinet that we managed to not break in 2 years, but the details mentioned in our emails were loosely paid attention to so I'm not sure it would have done any good. 3. "Set up to fail" is an odd way of defending this kind of cleaning work. At the end of the day, your company left the apartment in that state and the photos show the work that the company somehow is proud of. read more

Beware of this company. I paid for a 3-hour cleaning of a small studio apartment. It was a move out cleaning so there was no furniture or any belongings in the apartment and all I asked them to do was simply wipe down appliances, cabinets, and other surfaces. They left my kitchen sink, cabinets, fridge, toilet, and floor dirty. I had the moving-out walkthrough with my apartment immediately after the cleaning so I didn't have time to ask the cleaner to fix everything he had left dirty. I made the mistake of leaving the tip at the beginning and leaving for an errand. Even my apartment staff were shocked at what a bad job the cleaner did. I reached out to customer service and they refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing and said there was nothing they could do. Money down the drain. read more

"This review is outlandish, offensive, and rude." This is exactly the sort of behavior you can expect from this owner. Her employees showed up late, kept texting on their iPhones while charging $100/hr for a work that didn't even get the place clean, and kept asking for our supplies despite Candace marketing herself as a "we bring our own" company. Instead of holding herself or her employees accountable, she lashes out at her customers. Avoid at all costs. That first sentence describes the owner perfectly. read more

Scam scam scam....I bought a groupon and scheduled an appointment. I stayed home and nobody called or showed up. So I checked and they sent an email saying the cleaner was sick. Rescheduled for the next day at 3. Received a call at 2:50 that she was stuck at her other job and wasn't coming. As they say, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Truly the best. I have now tried many services - and just stupidly tried the discount offer all over the city for Handy - which left me confused and wishing I had just went with Team Clean. Lesson learned, and will not be tricked again! Team Clean leaves my apartment spotless, they take a ton of pride in their work. The detail is always meticulous and any issues I've had they have fixed and been responsive to. It's worth spending money to know you're in good hands and the job gets done right the first time. And to be around lovely people and people who actually care. Now.. trying to forget about my Handy experience today. read more

I am genuinely confused about this whole experience. The cleaner arrived on time and literally seemed to be cleaning for the whole 4 hours. She was very sweet. But...I have no idea what she cleaned! I mean, what the hell was she doing for 4 hours??? I cleaned put everything from my fridge on the counter. She put everything back in the fridge - and that was nice. Not sure she wiped it out. But maybe. It wasn't that dirty to begin with. Today I did a thorough cleaning of my kitchen, where the cleaner LITERALLY (used to mean LITERALLY and not FIGURATIVELY) spent FOUR HOURS!! And the walls still had streaks all over them. The floor had gunk EVERYWHERE, my counter space with all my pots and pans wasn't even close to ever having been dusted (my fault, but also hers because seriously, I just want to know, what she DOING??? She was ONLY in the kitchen and it's brooklyn. It's tiny.) I am just so baffled by the whole thing. Why didn't she clean any other rooms? What did she find in my kitchen? But now, I am wondering if something was wrong with her. Is she well? Does she think her job is something else? Maybe you should investigate... read more

We've used their cleaners 4x and they seem inconsistent. Some came with all their cleaning products, some didn't. Two were on time, one was a half hour late, another was an hour late. A few of the cleaners did what they could in the 2 hour time limit, a few went over the time to finish. 3 cleaners did a good job, but our last one (who seemed nice) left our place unclean, said she finished our kitchen but the sink and our island and stove top looked untouched, she didn't take out the garbage and left a dirty rag on the shelf. Besides all of the above, the owner seems responsive, almost overly cheery even when I had to complain about the last cleaner. Anyway, we won't be using them again. read more

Horrible Horrible service, DO NOT USE! When I complained to the owner they sent me a ton of emails defending the kid they sent over. When he first came over he spilled water all over the floor, didnt apologize and left the cup there. These people sent some guy to clean two rooms which he didn't do. He took 3 hours to clean a shower stall when he was supposed to clean the bathroom and kitchen floors! when I told the company they made up terrible lies and said he said he didn't have time to do anything else. It's a joke! Instead of understanding the customers concerns, they side with the cleaner who lied to them and wants to keep his job. I paid $80 for someone to do a half ass job cleaning my tub that was already clean! I wanted him to do the counters and floors! He also used something to clean they left the most digusting fowl smell in my apt, I almost threw up, we still can't get the stench out!!!!!!!!!! They literally ripped me off. He did a horrible horrible job. He didn't do the floors or counters or anything in two rooms in 3 hours! I guarantee, based on the nasty emails I received from the owner defending the employee they sent over, they will give a nasty response here. Don't fall for it. The owner is a scam artist and takes no pride in who they send to clean your home. They not only defending the employee that did a horrible job, they lied and said we had dog food with ants on it. We never had dog food in that apt in our life, we dont even have a dog and I've never seen so much as one ant so that is a complete and utter LIE!!! ! then they said the pics we sent of the kitchen floor that he refused to clean, were of the dining room. we dont even have a dining room. These ppl are terrible business owners, they will spit on their customers and take your money and give you nothing but stress in return. It was literally a joke the job they did. As expected they posted a response that is a lie. We do not have dog food or a dog. Her bathroom was already clean we needed the floors done which he did not do in the bedroom or kitchen. They are defending someone that did a lousy job and condemning the customer. this is the kind of service they give. In my 25 yrs in NYC I have never dealt with such an unprofessional and unorthodox company that literally cares nothing about their clients and takes their money for a horrible job that was not done. Do not use them. they do not take pride in anything if they did, they would have apologized for the rotten service they provided and would have given us a refund. There was no cursing in the emails, that also is a lie. Do not use these people, you will be sorry. All you have to do is see all the other reviews they received that got 1 star for lousy and rotten service. Are you going to believe the customer who has no reason to lie or the owner who wants to keep her money when the job wasn't done ?? read more

Shelley from Team Clean showed up promptly at 1pm, asked all the right questions, did an amazing cleaning job, asked me if I would like a walk through after she was finished. I absolutely love this maid service. I am a heavy airbnb user, so I have new guests coming in and out, and a few times I've been in a bind where i was out of town, and not able to prep my home before new guests arrived. Luckily I was able to prep Team Clean member, Kelly, who is a dream! Never in a million years did I think I would use a maid service, but I'm so happy to have found this company. I work a full time job, plus airbnb full time, and sometimes I just need to sleep. Kelly comes in and makes my place amazing, and i wake up and my place is sparkling. Love it!! read more

It is difficult to know who to hire and trust in Manhattan, with the keys to your apartment. Team Clean gives me the peace of mind, to do just this and I know I will return home with a sparkling clean apartment. I have been a client of Team Clean for over one year. They confirm the day before, tell you who will come, as naturally they have a team of cleaning crew, and send one person to your place. Either they bring their own cleaning supplies or use your own. You specifiy anything you want them to focus on. I was pretty amazed to see they cleaned the hood above my stove, and my toaster crumbs! I feel comfortable and confident in their service. I don't use them every month, but when I do it's very easy to schedule via email. read more

They did cool work specially at the dirty corners in kitchen and bathroom, really clean and eco-friendly. If without the voucher, their price is a bit higher than normal cleaning agency, although I believe they spent more in the professional cleaning stuff and training or so. I was planning to give them 4~5 stars, but I took one star off because they tracked me down, emailed and called me to question about my negative Yelp review about their service, before I have a chance to finally update it after my vacation. This review was originally made on April 1, when I was annoyed for not being able to get in touch with them. Soon I updated and upgraded it on April 8 when I received their email reply and successfully scheduled the appointment. With no doubt, that made me kinda uncomfortable. Learned a lesson, never use ur real name online, unless u r a public figure who is prepared for all kind of things. ------updated on 4/28/2013---------- Finally get in touch with them via email and scheduled an appointment. As they explained, because of the Amazon deal promotion, flood of phone calls arrived and they did not have enough people to take care of all the requests. Sounds reasonable. Anyway, looking forward to the cleaning work and I will input my final review. --------updated on 4/8/2013----------- Terrible customer service. I got one voucher from Amazon local deals. After having relied on myself for the past 3 years - I decided it was time to let a professional come in and clean my apartment. I'm not messy, so I don't think I left a ton of work to be done, but nonetheless, there were some hidden nooks that needed scrubbing. I'm happy to report my apartment was spotless upon arriving home this evening. It smelled great and really was super clean. The entire experience was such a pleasure. The founder stopped by last Friday to see what she and her "teamsters" would be working with. I very much appreciated this because it made me feel at ease knowing who I would be letting into my apartment and because I knew she was giving me a fair estimate. Another company quoted me $300 and Team Clean did an excellent job at half the price (and they still spent 3 hours cleaning!). Furthermore, it was painless to set up an appointment around my schedule. They arrived right on time at 830 this morning and left things in perfect order. I'm slightly obsessive and can tell when someone has moved something just an inch out of place, and the care they took to put things as they found them was not unnoticed. I must say, I was very impressed. Wonderful company, great first apartment cleaning experience, and the nicest people. For those weeks I'm overwhelmed and just don't have time to clean, I'll definitely be using Team Clean again. read more

The worst company you'd want cleaning your apartment and to work for. The owner, Candace Mills, is incapable of paying her employees on time (which makes you wonder what she's doing with the company money) which ultimately reflects on work ethic from workers. If workers aren't paid on time, they're unable to purchase the materials necessary to clean apartments, as well as make it to cleaning appointments I time due to the public transit system requiring payment for using their methods of transportation; nothing of which shed understand because she isn't located in New York City. Materials and transportation costs come right out of the employee pockets and aren't reimbursed regardless of distance of material costs. Employees receive roughly 33% of client payment while the other 67% goes into her pocket. I had a check of $300 that I deposited into my account that bounced, leaving my account negative $300. Why rely on a company that doesn't respect their employees, ultimately disrespecting the client. Just do the smart thing - clean your own home and find a better company. -Barquail Bradley. read more

A manager from the company called me, and was very respectful and polite. I was in error in saying that the cleaning person showed up without tools -- he actually came with a smallish backpack of tools. When we discussed my problem with the specificity of requested services, she said in future she would use their work request form more frequently. This would be a great help to those of us who just see a "fridge" and don't think of cleaning inside and cleaning outside as different jobs. She also offered me 2 hours of service for my pains. She also said the problem arose when my specific requests got lost in the shuffle and didn't make its way to the person who ordered the services for me or to the deliverer of the cleaning services. I'm willing to give this place another chance. read more

I've used several services here in NYC and this is by far the best and most reliable. Great customer service, communication and performance. Highly recommended! read more

We used Handy for about 2 years and were often frustrated when someone unexpected would show up instead of our "regular" cleaner. We also prefer to use organic and natural products, no bleach, etc. and I have previously found it hard to communicate that to other cleaners. Team clean is great! They get it! The house is sparkling clean when they leave and doesn't smell like harsh chemicals. They are easy to communicate with and tend to remember all of our preferences without being reminded. They always bring two people and clean for 2 hours, which is much better for us than having one person here for 4 hours (especially in light of COVID). They're very sweet to our goofball of a dog. Best cleaning service I have used in NYC. read more

I've used a few cleaning services and Team Clean is by far the best. The hourly rate is a little higher than some other services, but in my experience they do a better, faster job that makes it worth it (and kind of evens out in the end). Booking is easy and fast via email. Staff are professional and always on time. They bring their own cleaning tools and supplies (all eco friendly). And really do a great job deep cleaning our kitchen and bathroom. Plus they can send someone dog-friendly so I don't have to worry about our large, friendly pooch. This is a great service if you are looking for a one-time deep clean or a regular recurring one. read more

I found out about Team Clean from a GILT City voucher. The process to set up the appointment was easy and they were flexible with scheduling, which is a plus. Steve came to our apartment on time (I am a big stickler about being prompt) and he really did beautiful work. Our bathroom was left spotless and smelled wonderful. Our kitchen was tidy, organized and the granite was so clean. Even though our voucher was only for 3 hours, Steve stayed longer as he needed more time. He really cared about his work and took the time to make sure it was all done. The normal prices for cleaning are a bit high, but you pay for what you get, ESPECIALLY in Manhattan. I recommend Team Clean! read more

We are very happy with the cleaning job by Team Clean. We booked services with only 1 day's notice, and Shelly came to our apt right on time. She was very friendly and professional. She got right to work and left my apartment super clean. My old dirty microwave looked brand new! The stove and my kitchen floors looked amazing! She was very hard working and I was really impressed with her work ethic. She cleaned my 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apt in 2 hours. It was such a great deal, and I can't wait to use their services again. read more

We have been clients of Team Clean for over two years and could not be happier. The quality of the work is exceptional. I never leave reviews, but I'd be remiss not to share my overwhelmingly positive experience with Team Clean. I called them a year ago to help temporarily with our Airbnb listing while I was on vacation (I'd been referred by a friend). Candace met with me beforehand to go over any special requests (leaving out towels and shampoos for guests, watering plants, etc) and gave us a fair rate. Everything was A+. My apartment looked great, they were very professional and the renters were happy. This would have been enough. However I had a family emergency while on vacation and had to leave NY for nearly a year. I was totally unprepared to start renting my apartment to multiple renters, but Team Clean went above and beyond to help me. Without Team Clean, I could not have afforded to keep my apartment last year. That's the truth. Their flexibility and fast communication is key, because it allowed me to quickly accept reservation requests. Team Clean kept the rentals going smoothly - which allowed me to focus on taking care of my family. For this reason above of all, I am compelled to leave this reveiw. And our Airbnb ratings are 5 stars thanks largely to Team Clean. Here's a few excerpts from our renter reviews (we have 30 reviews, all 30 mention how great the apartment looks) "The place was spotless" "Meticulously clean" "But what really made this place great for me was the concentration on details - spotlessly clean; extra towels and bedding..." "The apartment was very clean, plenty of fresh towels, linens." "The apartment is lovely, extremely clean and easy." "The apartment was exactly as described, clean and homey!" "Everything was super clean..." "The apartment was fantastic - spotless..." "very clean and comfortable." "The apartment was gorgeous - clean, spacious and stylish" read more

We left our place in the hands of Team Clean for the summer while travelling, we had several guests staying and we asked the team to help in between their stays, after having a difficult time with a major online Uber-style cleaning service last time. We were very happy we switched to Team Clean, they were super communicative, reliable, helpful and even enthusiastic, on time in the small windows between guests, and we heard only good things from our visitors about cleanliness. It just made our busy travelling schedule much more relaxed and worry-less compared to said other service, which had us frantically calling phones and writing emails in the middle of the night in a different time-zone. Thank you Team Clean for making our summer run smoothly! We will not hesitate to use your services again. read more

Tommy did an excellent job cleaning my apartment! Really love that they use natural/non-toxic cleansers since that is something that is very important to me. Would highly recommend Team Clean NYC! Purchased a deal on groupon and was able to connect with the owner (Candace) directly about my preferences and goals for my 1 BR clean. DIDN'T SHOW UP, WERE UNRESPONSIVE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE. When the cleaner didn't show up for the scheduled appointment at 8am, I called and emailed right away, but didn't hear back until 8:30 that they couldn't reach the cleaner. I kept checking back, but we didn't get an actual call until after 9:30. When I was understandably upset (the issue had caused me to be late for work as well as an important meeting), i was told I was aggressive, and they didn't need clients like me, and they minimized the seriousness of the problem. When I told them that they were being unprofessional, and that being over an hour and fifteen minutes late without an explanation was unacceptable and that they had made me late for work, I not only was told that they didn't need that kind of negativity in their life, but that "mistakes happen" and it wasn't that big a deal. I've dealt with other cleaning companies in the past, and if someone is late, they not only call right away, but are efficient and professional in handling any mistakes. Feel free to hire these people if you are interested in being condescended to by people who have wasted your time. read more

I purchased this from amazon for my daughters empty apartment because we wanted a good 1st cleaning before she and her roommates moved in. The teamster arrived late. I got in touch with the company and then a short time later the teamster arrived. She said something happened to her grandmother. She should have called to let me know she'd be late I wanted the focus of the 2 hours to be on kitchen and bathrooms. Especially wiping out empty cabinets, fridge and stove. At some point I walked in and I saw she put her shoes on the counter cuz something spilled in them. What???? Dirty shoes DO NOT EVER belong on kitchen counters!. Then she finished and did 2 bathrooms. I checked it and she left. Only afterwards I noticed she did not clean behind the toilets and the freezer inside door had hair in it. Yuck! No one from the company ever called or contacted me to see if I was satisfied with the service. I think this very young girl who only moved to NY and started working for the company 3 months ago needs much better training. She told me that she is responsible for buying her own cleaning products. I noticed she used Lysol with hydrogen peroxide which I looked up on EWG website. It got a B rating. I thought they only use method, 7th generation or Ecover. I would NOT recommend this company. I used a cleaning service for my home awhile ago and there was a site manager who checked over everything. read more

excellent communication and scheduling. everyone was very nice to deal with. the woman who arrived to clean my apartment was kind and thoughtful and serious about her work. but, unfortunately, i give the final cleaning job a two. this was supposed to be a four hour, thorough cleaning of a small two bedroom apartment--stated priorities were floors and dusting, neither of which really happened. the cleaner spent over three hours on the bathroom fixtures and parts of the kitchen. the stove top has never been so clean, the toaster too. but these details were at the expense of the overall job. she kindly stayed an extra half hour to finish up the job, but there wasnt time at that point to vacuum, mop and dust properly. the vacuum was a drive-thru--no putting up chairs, no moldings or baseboards. the "mop" was a quick swiffer job. dusting was cursory at best, never getting close to details like blinds or desk. i know that my apartment needed a good cleaning and that its not an easy place to clean. but if the four hour job was not possible, i wish the cleaner had said so on arrival so that we would could have worked out a realistic plan. i think the problem was a combination of time management and the wrong person for this job. her attention to specific details was impressive, but i was hoping for elbow grease and a good mopping. read more

I've had consistently excellent experiences with Team Clean. Their pricing is very reasonable, scheduling is easy and fast via email, and the service is excellent. I use a cleaning service sporadically, usually when me and my partner are both working long hours or before/after having guests stay with us, so when Team Clean comes the place is usually in need of a little extra attention. The Team Clean team members who've come to our place have always been very punctual, arriving at the scheduled time, and done a really excellent job, leaving everything sparkling clean. The owner is always extremely friendly, accomodating, and super helpful when scheduling or dealing with logistics. I often book with very short notice, and I've always been able to get my first preference for a date and time. They use natural cleaners and products, and bring all their own supplies (with the exception of a vacuum, I just make sure to leave ours out for them.) I love that the place is always perfectly clean but never smells like ammonia or bleach, as with other cleaning services that use harsher and less environmentally friendly products. I'd give them a stellar recommendation to anyone, but especially to anyone who has pets or is concerned about having harsh chemicals in their home, as all the products they use are non-toxic and environmentally friendly! The only potential issue I've ever had is that once a team member stayed much longer than planned to finish the job - she made sure that was ok with me when she realized it was going to take longer than expected, did a phenomenal job, and I wasn't charged a cent more (I even offered to pay more if I had been inaccurate when I gave the info the quote was based off of, and I was assured that it was fine) but it could have been an issue if I had planned the cleaning immediately before I had guests coming, as I sometimes have. But as far as I'm concerned, it's a plus to have a such great people that will go the extra mile and take the time to make sure the service is perfect! And as I said, the team member kept me informed and I wasn't charged anything extra. So really a plus in my book, but I do now make sure to schedule in extra time between a cleaning and guests arriving, and if I ever had to schedule it back-to-back with something else I'd probably just make sure the team member knew that when they arrived. Definitely give Team Clean a try, they've made me a loyal customer and I highly recommend them! read more
