The owner is such a spit fire and treats you like family . You can tell he takes pride in his job and his business. The place is small with limited seating, we always get it to go anyway. We had a go to Chinese restaurant we went to for years, and they unfortunately closed due to COVID. We spent years trying to find a place that even compares, and for me this was it. We come here often. Great food and the owner who works the counter is always very nice. You don't have to wait long typically but when he's busy expect to wait a while. Best fried rice in the metro area, owner is also a very cool friendly guy. I drive 35-45 minutes just to get this takeout if I want Chinese. It's that good. read more

Only take out, which is fine by me. Everything is cooked fresh to order. The fried rice is fantastic. The egg foo young is awesome. The sweet and sour dishes are battered lightly and fried perfectly. I have been here multiple times over the last 4 years and this restaurant does not disappoint. The prices are very reasonable and the servings are large. You guys rock! I'm always on the prowl for good Chinese food and this place did not disappoint. They have great fried rice! It's dark, as it should be, but not from an over saturation of soy sauce (like most places), but dark because it's cooked in a well seasoned wok. Their crab Rangoon are also tasty; just the right amount of seasoning without being super sweet. And their pot stickers were spot on perfect. Not too doughy, filled with well seasoned meat and seared perfectly. Yum yum. We also ordered several entrees because we like to try a little of everything when we find a new place. The lemon chicken was good. The sauce could have used a little more lemon twang, but it was good. I liked that they served the sauce on the side so it didn't get soggy and mushy on the ride home. The Mongolian chicken was fantastic. Lots of tender slices of chicken and the sauce had a little heat but not so much that it burned my mouth. The beef broccoli was very good, loaded with lots of tender slice beef. Definitely worth trying. The hot braised chicken was also great. Big pieces of chicken, not overloaded with breading like most places and the sauce was excellent. The only dish we tried that I didn't care for was the Szechuan chicken, and that may have been my own fault because I ordered it mild. It didn't have the flavor I was expecting. I was a little bummed out that they were sold out of egg rolls, which I was looking forward to trying because this is one of the places that uses crunchy egg rolls wraps instead of the chewy kind. I was a regular of this place until a couple of years ago when the quality dropped off an they eventually closed. Come to find out their chef/manager quit and that started the downward spiral. I had heard that they re-opened so I stopped in today and tried it out. The space they are in now is VERY small. The manager says that they will be expanding into the space next door and will offer a buffet by Thanksgiving 2015. The menu is full of choices but unlike most Chinese restaurants they don't offer combo or lunch specials. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. The price for won-ton soup, 1 egg roll, Kung pao shrimp and two cans of Diet Coke was $15.30 plus tip. This seemed a little high to me but I'm happy to see good Chinese options in the area. The service was attentive but when you only have four tables, it shouldn't be too hard. I look forward to reviewing this restaurant again when they've expanded and have a buffet option. read more

I called to place an order last week and the owner answered with his usual smart mouth. I wanted a lunch special and he wasn't picking up what I was putting down. He ended up repeating himself and adding "it's not that hard" was he trying to call me an idiot? I will NEVER order from this place EVER again!!! I really like their food and was willing to overlook the owners smart mouth attitude, but NO MORE!!! I can get chinese from a couple different locations in the area and not have someone complain about his help/customers when you go to pick up your order!! Well Mr. owner, sorry to cut ties with you but you need to learn some manners and maybe go to some kind of compassion class! Your food is awesome but not worth putting up with you! So I think my partner and I have found our go to Chinese place near our home. Our meal came out quick, piping hot and so delicious. The workers and owners are so amazingly nice. I might suggest to them to get brown rice and chicken on a stick. I must come back and try other dishes. We had egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, bbq beef, Buddhist delight (tofu was not fried), garlic shrimp (a little spicy), cashew chicken, and vegetable lo mein. Used to come here all time 6+ years ago and was surprised to see all,the changes this place went through (read other reviews). Got the Flowery Chicken, which is what I used to get and it tasted about the same (really good), but the crab Rangoon left a lot to be desired, was to much cream cheese and not enough crab. Also would had been good if they would had put the rice in with my order verses having to go back to get it. Would get the Flowery chicken again, but not the crab Rangoon. It's apparent they have gotten into the same grove as every other Chinese restaurant around and that is to provide food and service that is just okay, which is fine as long as they can make a living. read more

Today while in Arnold I decided to try this restaurant. I called them to place a to go order. I was told 20 min for a half order of fried rice. I have worked restaurants before and 20 minutes is the standard time that they tell you. I was trying to ask him if it was going to take 20 minutes to let him know I was just right next-door to let him know I could be there sooner and he just basically went off on me. I was very polite I say please and thank you to everyone. I feel like we are living in a different society since Cove it. So while he was scolding me I just told him to please cancel my order. Due to the rudeness I will not be back. Saint Louis had many good restaurants. I own my own business and would not talk to a potential customer like that ever. It's one thing to tell people you're busy and yes it will take 20 minutes rather than to go off on somebody. read more

Great food and entertaining owner! I often get Chinese food on Friday nights and wanted to try some place new, because all the places now days seem the same quality wise. Gave this place a try and it will now be my go to. The food here tastes so much better! The hot braised chicken has a much richer and flavorful sauce compared to the other places and the fried rice is the BEST I've ever had. It seems to take longer for the food to get ready, but I believe that is due to more prep work compared to other restaurants. That's fine, though, because the owner will entertain you with plenty of funny conversation while you wait. Just be sure to be able to take a joke! read more
