Food was disgusting. Mad I spent $70. Our normal place is closed on Tuesdays so I figured we'd give this place a try. Chicken was extremely dried out and hard. We asked for our rice to be extra dark and the rice was the lightest I've ever seen. No where near dark. Crab Rangoon left a horrible taste in your mouth almost like fragrance. Hands down has to be probably one of the worst Chinese food restaurants I've ever had food from there crab Rangoon was old and stale. The chow mein noodles tasted like they were old also. The only thing that was good was the general Tso's chicken but they forgot to add the rice that came with it. That's all good luck if you eat there. read more

Came here at 4 pm on a Thursday. Was NOT expecting the huge crowd of people here. That got me pretty excited for the food, expecting that it was going to be spectacular to draw such a crowd. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed... Wonton soup - FLAVORLESS. Now, I guess wonton soup is not generally known for being a flavorful soup, quite the contrary. But this take on it was on another level. You might as well be drinking some diluted chicken broth with a dash of salt in it. Would not recommend. Beef "chow mein" - I'm not sure how this was supposed to be served. I've had chow mein many times in the past and I've never had it served with "crispy" noodles on the side. They served this with "crispy noodles" that were basically noodle chips. I actually liked the flavor of the chips but I thought it was a bizarre way to serve this dish. Overall the beef and veggies were rather bland. Cashew chicken - perhaps the most disappointing part of this meal was that the sauces used to season both the beef dish and this chicken dish seemed almost IDENTICAL. Their similarity definitely made for a very boring meal. I can't say that either dish were horrible per say, but they were definitely disappointing... I can't imagine how they might create another dish with any degree of uniqueness if all their dishes use the same sauce and come with the same brownish lackluster hue... Overall, I don't recommend coming here. I suppose Chinese food options are more limited in St. Louis, but I think the narrow spectrum of flavors here make this restaurant extremely boring. Started frequenting Lemay Wok in the 90s, when I worked in the area. I especially love their hot & sour soup. Lunch specials and dinner specials are good deals. Empress Chicken is yummy. A few coworkers and I ordered from this place while we were at work hoping for some good food. Unfortunately, we got the opposite. The general Tso's chicken that we ordered was pink, undercooked, and raw in the center because we could not even cut through it. The sweet and sour chicken was flavorless and over-fried where it was completely crunchy instead of having a nice balance. The crab rangoons were way too salty and we could not even finish them. We called the establishment twice and both times the person on the phone was very defensive when discussing the raw chicken and was telling us to "go ahead and report them" when we said we would report their business if nothing was handled. read more

This is my favorite lunch spot when I am paying. I can get soup (wonton or hot-n-sour), side (crab rangoon, egg roll or fried wonton) with a good portion of good quality food for about $6-7. My usual order is the very tasty hot-n-sour soup with crab rangoon, but I switch around my main dish. During peak lunch hour with hotter (like Hunan) dishes the red peppers seemed thrown in and not seasoning the dish, but I am just being picky for the price. Plus I get all this with table service, actual plates and bowls with metal silverware. We get our own hot tea pot and (this is the only time I enjoy this) tiny cups. The place does feel very upscale after about 12:45 PM when the staff is able to slow down. Since the lunch special goes till 3... The value and service is "as good as it gets" that I have ever found in South County. read more

My husband and I had chicken in both of our dishes that was burnt, chewy and grease filled. Last few times here have been not very good. $35 dollars for 2 entries and a chicken fried rice. Rice was stuck together and mush. Disappointed. I waited inside for 30 minutes for this order. Husband is calling them in the morning. read more

It was my first time trying Lemay Wok because I just moved into the area. Overall, I was disappointed. I read the reviews before I ordered from here, and it seemed like most of them were positive. I'm not sure if they just had an off night, but my experience was anything but. The fried rice could've passed for white rice with vegetables in it, and it was all stuck together as if it had been overcooked in the microwave. The crab rangoon was hard, and tasted a bit sour. The General Tso's chicken was so hard it was inedible. I really wanted to like this place. I love having good Chinese food close to home.
