Called FUYU 3 times starting at 1:30, then after 2pm.. no answer. Drove there... no open. No special hours posted on the door, OPEN sign was not lit and the door was locked and no one anwered the phone at 2:22pm. They are suppose to open at 11? Its obvious the older generation passed down the restaurant to the kids that don't care. I don't how they stay open. read more

After many disappointing trips to Fu Yu, we tried again tonight. Asked for the spiciest item they have, as almost all of the food is bland. Received Kung pao chicken. It is 75-90% vegetables and still lacks flavor. Asked for extra sauces to help and received pre-packaged standard sauces. If you want to pay a lot for rice and vegetables, with minimal flavor, this is your place. Far from authentic or good. read more

Fried rice was dry and had green peppers in it. Chicken chop suey had so many bean sprouts in it, I felt like I was eating hair. Also, there were about three carrot coins in the dish and maybe five small chunks of chicken. The egg rolls had been fried too long and were hard as a rock. The crab rangoon was sweet and tasted more like cheesecake. Needless to say, I won't be returning. This was the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. read more

Amazing food. I would especially recommend the pineapple nuggets. They're listed as an appetizer, but I would have them for dessert. Yummy! And the portions are so huge, twice the size I was expecting for the price. Pretty sure I've found my new favorite Chinese place now that I live up here instead of in Springfield. I had the beef lo mein, and it was delicious. More beef than I expected. I'm so used to Chinese places skimping on the meat, but there was plenty. I will absolutely be back. read more

Wasn't busy but do appreciate they were open during covid. These people couldn't me more rude if they tried. The girl on the phone said 4 words to me. Asked for white rice on both meals and got fried rice. When I picked up the food, the guy behind the counter could barely muster up enough energy to say hello. Asked for hot sauce twice and put one packet in the bag. The egg rolls and crab rangoon couldn't have tasted worse. The rest of the food was sub par at best. I'm new to this area and trying new Chinese places always makes me nervous. I read a few reviews about this place and I have to say that the 5star reviews are spot on. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and crab Rangoon. The food was very cheap, was ready very quickly, and tasted great. The best part was the crab Rangoon. I am not a huge fan of the slightly sweet style that many places have so when I tasted the savory style that FuYu has, I was sold. All I can say is that if I'm close enough for their delivery drivers, I'm in trouble. read more

The best Chinese food in northern Jefferson county right across the street from Quiktrip in Highridge

This one star rating is not the food rating, its the restaurant itself rating. They were suppose to open at 11AM and I tried calling them 3x starting at 11:15. No answer. So I drove to the place. No one there, no hours posted on the door. There were 3 other people that were standing outside that were customers surprised they were closed. The fastest way for a business to lose customers is not be there at the times posted that they are open. This has happened once before, long before COVID, so this behavior is not new nor due to the covid "hardship". They are not dependable, therefore you can't plan "FU YU for lunch" or dinner with your friends because you don't know if they will be open. I've been going to this place for EONS and always loved their food. What a shame, businesses go downhill fast when they get willy nilly with their hours. We drove to Hibachi on Manchester and had a delightful chinese lunch - thats my go to chinese now. Bye bye FUYU, your fired. read more

It's a typical take-out Chinese restaurant. Nothing special, but the food is good. My family goes out of our way to get Chinese food from Fu Yu because the food is better there than the other take-out Chinese restaurants a little closer to home. I like their egg rolls. read more

They seemingly open at random times, despite what the sign says, so don't show up at noon on a Sunday expecting your Chinese fix. Portions are very generous though and the food is decent. Prices are the best you'll find. Not exactly the friendliest service. read more

I live in Fenton and I've been eating at Fu Yu since 1989. The food is consistently good, hot and quickly made. The serving sizes are large which makes eating there a good value. The restaurant itself is old and nothing fancy. But it's clean. The restaurant owners have made an effort to replace and fixing things, which was needed and nice to see. I usually get take-out but have eaten in several times. The service was quick and good. Over the years I've tried all the Chinese restaurants in Fenton (the St. Louis County part), Jefferson County, Crestwood, Sunset Hills and Kirkwood areas. I haven't found any Chinese restaurant, not even the expensive ones, that can consistently make good, hot, affordable food the way Fu Yu can. read more

We have eaten at Fu Yu multiple times with hit and miss results. One of the order takers is not friendly at all. Regarding today. The food was Terrible! We did not even finish it. On a scale from 1 to 5 with 1 being the lowest todays food was a 0 (zero). We ordered 4 + meals. The egg drop soup tasted like soap. The fried rice tasted like over boiled rice with minimal taste, and mushy texture. The stir fried vegetables were cooked til they were mushy and the sauce tasted like diluted tomato soup...but diluted tomato soup would taste better than this sauce. The sesame chicken sauce was similar to the diluted tomato soup sauce that was on the vegetables. The only decent thing was the fried chicken chunks with the sweet n sour chicken. We will need to find a new Chinese Restaurant because Fu Yu is no longer tolerable. read more
