Really great soup dumplings and I also very much enjoy their cucumber salad, and teas. Service is just OK...you order at the cashier stand (not friendly, but not terrible) and then they give you a number and bring your food to your table. You get your own utensils & napkins, and buss your own table when you are done.
Get the golden broccoli! Garlicky, salty and so fresh! The cucumber salad is also an excellent side dish with a lovely marinade. For vegetarians, the crispy sesame noodles are a great main dish with a great peanut sauce. For meat eaters, the pan fried chicken dumplings or beef dumplings are flavorful and have a nice crisp exterior. I also recommend the coconut milk strawberry boba. It is a traditional brown sugar boba tea but with fresh strawberries muddled into the tea. So refreshing! The staff was helpful in describing the dishes and was quite friendly. There are about 10 tables for eat-in and you can watch the dumplings being made through a glass window. So fun!
This was my first time eating soup dumplings. Counter staff was very helpful recommending I try steamed dumplings first vs fried. I ordered steamed chicken dumplings to go. They included soy sauce, some type of vinegar (oil?) and chop sticks. I at them with my hands because I felt I would have better luck. The dumplings were soft and moist inside. The chicken was bland. I tried with both the soy sauce and the mystery vinegary stuff. I like the later best. Good, but I don't think this is my thing. They also had a few side dishes and both fruit and boba teas on menu.
It's been so much fun to see this small family-owned business thrive and grow, first with their new location in Des Peres and now with another coming to St. Charles! As a small business owner myself, I appreciate when they're super-busy with pre-Thanksgiving crowds and one of the owners walks through the door, drops his coat and jumps in to help. That's him in the middle. I still order the pan fried chicken or pork soup dumplings plus an order of "spicy wonton," $4.75. I used to order "spicy wonton noodle," $8.25, which has a few more wontons, all served on a bed of rice noodles. Some time ago, though, they changed those noodles on the bottom and they're not as tender and delicate as the old ones. I think the drinks are under-rated especially at this location, where there are no extensive descriptions. I like the classic boba and the peach boba if I'm having spicy food. We ordered pork soup dumpling, chicken fried dumpling and spicy wonton to dine in. The food was very delicious, especially the spicy wonton but the soy sauce and vinegar bottles on the table were really dirty. Sticky and yucky to touch..
I've been wanting to try this spot for a while now, and I was finally able to stop by Sunday night for a 1st visit to get take out. Parking was plentiful and the place was easy to get to within the Gravois Bluffs shopping complex. Inside was sparse, with simple tables and chairs, and typical, fun soup dumpling graphics on the wall. I did like that there was a glass window so you could see the kitchen staff working on the food. I always appreciate being able to observe the food being made when restaurants are set up to allow for that. Staff were friendly and timely in bringing my boba drink and then dumplings as soon as they were done. YES! Boba! I was excited to see that! I didn't realize they had that. So it was a super nice surprise to also order that treat! I got a strawberry coconut drink with regular boba, which was good to sip on while waiting for my order. I got steamed pork and steamed chicken dumplings. The pork was my favorite! They were both pretty good. I believe they would have been fantastic if I'd eaten them in house vs getting take out and driving 15 minutes. I also got an order of cucumbers. Those were fantastic! Made with fresh, flattened / muddled cucumbers and sesame oil, vinegar, soy, and not sure what else, but they were delicious! Would absolutely recommend them! Moral of this story for me: my long 15 minute drive for take out was not my best decision for nice, hot dumplings, but I still really enjoyed the food and would definitely go back! Overall, really good visit with 4 stars!
I tried some soup dumplings while traveling to Ohio and I fell in love with them, ever since then I knew I had to find something similar in St. Louis. One short search on Google and voila, I came across Tiger Soup Dumplings. After looking at the food menu I knew this was going to be the next spot I tried. I tried the pork soup dumplings and they had a great flavor. While in the restaurant you're able to see the cooks creating the handmade dumplings in real time! The only downside to the restaurant is that the seating area is pretty small and there may be a low chance of getting a table during the dinner rush.
I've only been here once but I already cannot wait to go back!! They're counter serve and located in a strip mall in the Gravois Bluffs area of Fenton. We started off with the cucumber salad, which was fresh and delicious, I also added some of the chili crisp they had on each of the tables. We also got the creamy sesame noodle (served warm), that was incredible. Such good flavor and fresh noodles. Loved it so much. Onto the soup dumplings! We tried both the steamed and pan fried dumplings. Honestly I couldn't tell the difference between the pork and chicken, but the flavor on both was amazing. So much warm soup packed into those cute little dumplings! The steamed ones had the edge over pan fried for me personally, but both were so good. I really enjoyed it here! I also got the peach dragon fruit tea - I really loved it. Can't wait to go back and try the Des Peres location! There's a little window where you can see them making and assembling the soup dumplings, so cool to see the process and love that it's all made fresh daily

Wow. I was really impressed. And rarely am I impressed. It's in a newer shopping center and easy to find. There's a parking lot but only like 4 spots with direct view of the restaurant. I was stuck between beef or pork xiaolong bao. The cashier told me pork was more popular but that he liked beef better. I would have ordered pork had he not told me so thank you. What I think the menu lacks are ingredients, ie chives, mushrooms, etc. This brings me to my point: I'm pretty sure the beef soup doubling had truffle oil, had I known that, I probably wouldn't be stuck btw pork and beef bc I love truffle. I chose beef and was glad I did, the truffle was a nice surprise. The chili wontons were pork, so I got the best of both. I really can't wait to come back again. The inside seems kind of cold, and they have outlets and bench seating. They just need some touches to warm it up. There's even a window so you can watch them make the dumplings. I gave 4 stars only bc I'm not a fan of paper plates and disposable utensils. Also bc the menu (on the wall atleast) didn't show ingredients. And they charged for water bc they only have water bottles. Everything else was good.

While in St. Louis, I knew I wanted to eat somewhere that offered food unavailable to me in my hometown. Having never tried xiaolongbao, Tiger Soup Dumplings seemed a natural choice! This small restaurant is located in a very large shopping center. The sign is a little hard to see but when you enter you're greeted with a clean and simple interior with friendly faces and a focused menu. They do pan fried or steamed dumplings (pork, chicken, beef, or shrimp filling), with cucumber salad or broccoli as a side option. I think they might also have boba and fruit tea but given I'd already made a boba trip that day I didn't order any. My husband and I ordered steamed beef and pan fried chicken dumplings to share, plus cucumber salad. The employee gave good recommendations on which meat went best with each cooking style. Our food came out quickly. I enjoyed everything we ordered. The cucumber salad needed a little bit more oomph but it was nothing some of the chili oil on the table couldn't fix. My favorite was the steamed beef dumplings. They were super rich and savory. The chicken dumpling wasn't quite as crispy as I'd expected and the broth almost had a slightly sweet quality to it. It was good, just a little different than what I expected. I'm very glad I got to try these dumplings! This wasn't a super gigantic or hugely filling meal so I'd probably order one extra side (the broccoli looked great and I kinda wish my husband had sided with me on ordering it, lol) just to round things out if I returned. Overall, a quite positive experience and I'm grateful to have had it! read more

The food is the star here- don't expect much in the way of ambiance. It's really just excellent made fresh fast food. We had golden broccoli which is broccoli with garlic sauce, steamed and fried pork dumplings. Wanted to try chicken or beef too but we were too full. Next time. (Is tomorrow too soon?) so enjoyed each item. The flavors were great. The gal who took our order was super nice and helpful- it was only her 4th day on the job! So glad I got to try this place! Ordered online while in Des Peres at Trader Joe's bc I was nearby the Manchester location and when it went through, it switched the location to Fenton. I called to switch it back and they said Manchester was closed, so was a bit frustrating, BUT only 14 minutes from Fenton so I went there to pick up and it was WORTH IT. I got the beef soup dumplings, cucumber salad and the spicy wontons (less spicy) based on reviews saying they are very spicy and they were right. Everything was super fresh and sooo good. The beef was perfectly tender and loved the soup dumplings experience. They were super busy too but I Will definitely go back to try more. read more

I haven't really had a bad experience with tiger soup dumplings! It has become a Sunday treat after a long week of work. Whether I eat it in house or take it to go to eat at a local park the taste is amazing. read more
Love their dumplings! Seriously, I am so glad this place is so close to where I live because I can see myself visiting often. Ordering at the counter is quick and efficient. They give you a number for your table and then you wait for your order to be delivered. Everything comes out piping hot and tasty delicious. I have tried both the steamed and friend dumplings and enjoy them both equally. I also really enjoyed the tiger fruit tea - def a must try! The only complaint I have is that they do not offer any reusable plates or cups, everything must go in the trash which is concerning to me - not very eco-friendly. Is the food good? Yes, absolutely! I just wish they would change up their dine-in tableware and not serve things in paper bowl/plates. read more
Soup dumplings are a fun concept. You bite the top off and then either drink or spoon the broth out of the dumpling before eating the rest of the dumpling. The staff is friendly and the food is novel. It's a little hard to get to since it is in that island of retail they build when they split Manchester Dr and the seating is tight but if you are looking for a new culinary experience this should be a must do at least once. 4 star food 2 star location. read more
Had a good experience here at Tiger Soup Dumplings. There's two places that we searched for that solely sold soup dumplings. The other place didn't sell pan fried soup dumplings, so we chose this place for the extra option. Though it was a bit on the pricier side, the meal was satisfying and we got exactly what we were looking for. We ordered multiple pork soup dumplings, the spicy wonton, and some pan fried soup dumplings. We ordered the most steamed soup dumplings because that is what we basically came for and were expecting (and what my kids love the most), but ended up loving the pan fried soup dumplings the best. I'd come back to get more of these! The soup dumplings were good too, but I think the skin could be slightly thinner (if I were to compare to other places we love). The spicy wontons were good too! The staff was nice, the decor was cute and modern. One let down was that they don't offer free water, just $1 for water bottles. Still cheap and a decent price for that, but with a big (and thirsty) family, we don't really enjoy purchasing water when we could get it for free usually. read more
Tiger Soup Dumplings was bursting with flavor. I have never had dumplings before so I dont have much to go off of but I can guess that they wouldn't disappoint! When you walk in, the menu is on the wall, so you walk up & order, then they bring your food out to you. It's a small menu, but mighty! I ordered spicy wonton noodles, spicy wontons, the cucumber salad & the Peach Dragon Tea. All delicious & I would definitely get these menu items again which are a must try! I loveeeee spicy foods but I am not going to lie, the spicy wontons are SPICY . The seating area is smaller, I found a spot at a table with another couple. If they could incorporate a bar of some kind I think that could definitely help with seating too! I would definitely come back & reorder the spicy wontons. I have heard of this place but never got a chance to check it out until today. It is a quick food ordering and service type of thing. You go to the register and order the food and drinks. Then they will give you a number and they will bring your food and drinks you ordered to you. There is an area where you will find disposable plates, spoons, napkins and chopsticks. There are several tables to pick from for seatings. After finished eating then you will throw your trash away. We got the chicken, two beef and shrimp and cheese steam dumplings. They taste pretty good. We also got the chicken fried dumpling, which I forgot to take a picture of. For me, my personal preference is the steam dumplings over the fried ones, plus it is cheaper and gives greater eating experience. read more
We tried 3 different iced teas, the spicy wonton and both the steamed and fried chicken dumplings. Everything was delicious! The teas were each about $6, which feels a bit high for the amount you get, but they were all tasty, with bits of fruit in them. The dumplings were hit and fresh, and with some practice, easy to eat without burning your mouth! The service was quick, and everything was brought to the table within 5 minutes of ordering. It was fun to watch them make dumplings while we waited. Aside from the cost of the drinks, the only other thing that's a bit off putting are the tables and chairs. They seem like ikea furniture, and are very basic. Built for easy cleaning more than comfort. A fun place to grab a quick bite. Worth trying, if you have never been! read more
Amazing soup dumplings! Steamed and fried with a delicious broth, try the vinegar and chili oil condiments. The cucumber salad was refreshing and crunchy. Spicy wontons were spicy and flavorful. Really enjoyed the Tiger Fruit Boba tea. Very fruity and light with citrus tones. The restaurant is very bare bones. Order at the counter and they have all disposable tableware. Finally made it here while Christmas shopping. Small menu but that allowed us to try almost everything. The food comes out of the kitchen quickly and you can watch the dumplings being made that large window. The steamed chicken dumplings are my favorite. Order at the counter and get a number to take your seat. Be aware if it's busy, there aren't a lot of tables for eating in. There is a window into the kitchen where you can see dumplings in progress and a wall mural that shows the dumpling eating instructions. Food and drinks come out as they are ready. Our table ordered quite a few dishes and shared. Cucumber salad: cold, crunchy, delicious Golden Briccoli: order this if you love garlic! There is lots of it Spicy wontons: like the wontons in wonton soup but extra spicy. And delicious Pan fried pork dumplings: remind me a little of a pot sticker. Very good Steamed chicken soup dumpling: this was a little bland for me after all the other intense flavors. I'll try the steamed pork dumplings next time. Great place with lots of flavorful items. Food: 5 Stars Service: 5 Stars Simple menu, bold and savory flavors, warm and comforting. Try each of the different dumplings as they have their own unique flavor. Also try them both steamed and pan fried... Sometimes I prefer one over the other based on the weather or mood. Either way, they are excellent and you can never make a bad choice. Don't forget to order the cucumber salad- it compliments the dumplings. You don't need a long lengthy review for this place. Just go and order one of everything. You won't be disappointed! read more
I've dined in and carried out at Tiger Soup Dumplings several times. I do love they have a south county location. I did online ordering today for lunch and was able to pick up right away. Pork soup dumplings is a little too sweet compared to the ones I had at Soup Dumpling STL although the broth is pretty juicy. My most fav dish from here is spicy wontons. I recommend if you love some kick order extra spicy. It's perfect for Thai lady like me! I also love that it's highly affordable. Staffs aren't as friendly. It gives you of chinese chains vibe rather than homey mom and pop shop. The inside is always nice and clean and you can see staffs making xiaolongbaos. read more
This was my first time visiting Tiger Soup Dumplings and my first time eating soup dumplings. Wow! They were amazing! We had the pork fried and the steamed beef and both were phenomenal! I can't say which I preferred because I loved them both! We also tried the spicy wontons and cucumber salad as sides and yum! The service was excellent! You are greeted as you enter and once you decide on what you want you order at the counter. You are given a number and the seat yourself. Shortly after you order, your food is brought to your table and enjoy! I appreciated that they have directions on how to eat a soup dumpling posted on the wall in the dining area. This was very helpful as this was my first time eating a soup dumpling. I am looking forward to many more visits! read more
First timer! I would like to preface that I love dumplings SO much that when I first tried them when I was 7yo, I wrote a song about how much I love them. It's also listed as one of the last meals I would have before I die. Okay, with that said, this place is GOOOOOD. At first I was hesitant because it was far from me, the prices are pretty high for just 6 in an order and a couple drinks are almost $10?? But my love for dumplings was too strong. They delivered. Order: * cucumber salad * pork steamed dumplings * shrimp + cheese steamed dumplings to go order * pork steamed dumplings * chicken steamed dumplings I brought my own water bottle because they didn't have water cups and they charge $1 for a bottle and ya girl just didn't want to do that. * cucumber salad | I read that they weren't marinated enough, but ours was perfectly marinated. We suspected they used mini cucumbers and the marinade was a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar and honey. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did! I was definitely the marinade that got me. * shrimp+cheese steamed | INTERESTING combination. I love me some har gow so we gave this a try. The soup for this one was just okay for me. If it wasn't for the shrimp, I probably could've just chose not to finish them. The price of them also allowed me to keep eating. * pork steamed | Give. Me. More. 6 is not enough. I could've ordered 2 more for one sitting and THEN be satisfied. I need to learn how to make this one in particular because it was just that damn good. Chef's kiss Note worthy: * they added a strawberry oreo smoothie that sounded AMAZING but I just couldn't get myself to spend $9.25 on a smoothie. Sorry. * The floor decor is v interesting.... it honestly looks like blood was splattered over the floor * Self bussing!! It was packed so when a group left their table and I was able to snag it, it was still dirty, wet, and sticky unfortunately. * the spoons look like they could be washed and reused but they're disposable!
