    Dim Sum
    Eleisha M.

Met some friends for lunch, we were wanting Dim Sum and decided to check out LuLu's. So good! We arrived at 11:00, and when we sat they started bringing around carts of goodies. We opted for the calamari, sesame rolls with bean paste, noodles, beef ribs, a pork sweet roll, and a few other steamed items that I'm not sure what they are - we just know they are good. As we sat enjoying one another's company the amount of food kept increasing. We ended up seeing dumplings, BBQ pork, many veggies, and some possible tofu make the rounds. Go hungry, you will not leave that way. From what I saw on their website they offer Dim Sum all week, so many opportunities to try it. The restaurant is large enough to have plenty of seating and space between the tables so you do not feel in the way as they make their way around with the trays. Color scheme is red and gold, traditional Chinese colors. Great experience overall.

Sundays are for Dim Sum This could easily become my cherished Sunday routine. The variety is impressive, and I tried my fair share of dishes, but my heart always circles back to the standout - the peppered fish. There's something about its perfectly seasoned bite, the balance of spice, and the tender fish that keeps me ordering it. Dim Sum was so fun. The carts were flying around the restaurant, each with different foods and things to try. They offer Dim Sum on Saturdays and Sundays! This is a must try!

First time trying Crab Rangoon here. Service was pretty fast. It would be great if they sold the refreshing smoothie drinks they have posted up on the wall by the food menu as if they were sold there. It was a hot day and I just knew I was going to get something cold to sip on. I was told that the smoothie poster is decoration. Not so good on drink options. Food is great!

Solid eatery for good Chinese Dim Sum (small plates) on weekends. Servers roll carts of appetizer/shareable plates; you pick/try what you like by choosing the type of appetizer dishes. Asian decor throughout the restaurant with friendly and efficient service. Plan to come with a group so you can sample a wide variety of dim sum foods. Overall, 3.5+ rating for me on food selection, service and ambience. Expect to pay $15-25pp depending how much and what you order, which is charged by plate "size" (S, M, L, XL) during dim sum hours. Today we tried a "variety" of Dim Sum dishes, including steamed Shrimp dumplings, Seafood dumplings, Veggies, Pork dumplings, Turnip cakes, Shrimp & Leek pan fried dumplings, Sticky Rice with meat and more. Finished the meal with a flaky sweet egg (custard) pastry. All were tasty and filling! My only callout was I didn't see some "other" dim sum items we usually enjoy such as Tarrow, baked BBQ pastries, Crispy pork belly, stuffed eggplant or peppers etc. So be aware the weekend selections may be limited or rotated. You can also order off their regular menu if wanting larger or specialty dishes (ie. noodles, rice, soup, etc) of traditional Chinese meals. But if you like the Dim Sum experience. LuLu's is a solid spot. Enjoy!!

This place is packed on Sundays! This isn't my first time visiting this eatery. Not impressed with food or service. But I refuse to go to the other dim sum place down the street, so we ended up here today. Food - bland. tasted old. I feel like we could have gotten better dim sum from the freezer at the grocery store. We ordered about 15 dishes. And the only dish that was decent was the taro pancake. My mom is obsessed with chicken feet. And she always order extra togo everywhere we go. She took a bit of their chicken feet and spit it out instantly. This is my first time seeing that. Service - non existent. We had to wave our waiter down to get refills or extra napkins. He gave us wrong tea and forgot our rock sugar even though we asked several time. We get it. They are busy. But they are not short of staff. No excuses. Despite the 3 star reviews, we will continue to come here until there is a new dim sum place in town. This eatery tastes little better and much less expensive than the one down the street.

Just got take out from here for lunch/dinner and I'm glad I didn't check the yelp reviews first or I might not have gone! It was pretty empty when I went to pick up my food and honestly I was prepared to love them just for how my order was packaged. Everything was hot, the Crispy Eggplant was seperate from the sauce so it stayed crunchy, the Hot Pepper Chicken was crunchy still (and addicting), the wontons in chili sauce were wrapped separate so nothing spilled, and the Singapore Rice Noodles are a new favorite. Everything had a satisfying spice with the Szechuan pepper and great over all texture and flavor!

This place has been super packed lately. The food was great, but it came out a lot slower because of a crowded Sunday. The restaurant inside is huge, and honestly I'm surprised that they can remember every table's requests. I would try going when it's less crowded, but I don't know when that time is!

We decided to stop here once we got in town. The food was delicious . The place was very dark inside while we dined in.

Sticky rice in lotus leaf. So delicious!

Lulu is one of our go-to restaurants for Chinese food. This review is for takeout from the Rock Hill location on Manchester Road. I called ahead and some of their dim sum items and rice porridge wasn't available at this location unfortunately; they are usually made at their main restaurant on Olive Blvd. We ordered won ton soup, xiao long bao (soup dumplings), sticky rice in lotus leaf, and crispy pan fried noodles with seafood sauce. Everything was delicious! The won ton soup was flavorful but not too salty, and it hit the spot because I was feeling under the weather. My kids gobbled up the soup dumplings, and the sticky rice in lotus leaves was so hearty and full of savory meat. The noodles probably taste better in the restaurant, but my family still liked the fried crispy noodles at home too. The seafood sauce had very little any seafood so I added some more protein later. Hopefully we will try more dim sum items here soon!

Insider tip: the tofu egg dish is not on the menu but ask for it anyway. It is so worth it and the best way I can describe it is like eating a savory cloud puff. So unique and so good. The service is always super efficient, food comes out fast, and the staff will get you in and out. Every single dish I've had has been full of flavor and nothing has missed yet. Unfortunately, my most recent visit completely changed that. I went on Sunday, 11/23, the weekend before Thanksgiving. I worked from 6-3 that day and placed my usual order online around 1:00-1:30 pm for ASAP pickup so I could grab it before their lunch break. I even left work early to make it there. When I arrived around 2:40 pm, I was told my order wouldn't be ready until 5:00 pm and that I would have to come back. I showed them my order confirmation, which originally showed a pickup time around 2:50 pm. Even when I refreshed the website, it showed 3:30 pm, still nowhere near 5:00. The cashier, a young man, was dismissive and didn't seem to care at all that my time had been wasted or that the information given online didn't match what I was being told in person. This was extremely frustrating and honestly unacceptable, especially for a place I've been loyal to for so long. I wasted my time, left work early for nothing, and left without food. As much as I've loved Cate Zone in the past, this experience was enough to make me question whether I'll be returning.

Everything looked fresh and they refill often. There are also lots of soup base options to choose from plus a stir fry option if you want to mix it up. The make your own sauce station is a great touch too. The staff works incredibly fast at turning tables and keeping everything clean. They only have one bathroom (it's clean) so just be aware for wait times. They also give you one free rice bowl which is a small but good bonus. There's a good amount of seating though I've heard the line goes out the door on weekends. Overall I really loved this place and I am already looking forward to coming back.

This was my first experience at a hot pot by the pound restaurant. I've only been to all you can…read moreeat hot pot restaurants, so I was excited to try this place out. Apparently, I wasn't the only one because this place got packed by 6p on a weekday! The line was out the door. It can be a little confusing for a first time goer as you enter the place and grab a bowl to select the ingredients you want to eat. The minimum weight that you have to buy is 0.9 lbs, but you really won't know how much your bowl weighs until you get up to the cashier and put it on the scale. My bowl was underweight my first time through, so I went back to grab more ingredients. If I had to guess the minimum cost for a 0.9 lb bowl, it's probably about $16, which is a pretty good price for a hot pot. My bowl weighed about 0.97 and it was way more than I could comfortably eat. The next decision you have to make after you have selected your ingredients is the base and spicy level. I went with #1 Oil splash spicy soup at medium spice level. Now, I enjoy spicy foods, but this was at the upper limit of enjoyability. Although tasty, I think the oil in the broth got to be too much and I will want to try a different base next time. After you pay for your food, you get a number which you take to a table of your choosing and wait for your bowl to come out (they cook it for you). There is a drinking water station next to the free rice station, which was around the corner from the complimentary pickled vegetable station. Overall, positive experience and I would return for more. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026
