The "Chicken Fried Rice" was practically NO chicken meat, almost All rice but look at pictures and decide for yourself. The Kon Po chicken tasted stale and too much sauce with very small portion. The crab ran goon were nice size but not hot. Only item that was tasty was stir fried vegetables. For the $ and mediocre quality, it's not worth it. My wife did even want to eat her meal. We love Lulu's! Been coming here for years. Have tried many places in the area and Lulus remains are favorite. The 15 year old in the family is a connoisseur of sesame chicken and has deemed Lulu's to be the best in the city. We also love their dumplings, Rangoon, pork buns, kung pao chicken and other dishes we have tried. Met some friends for lunch, we were wanting Dim Sum and decided to check out LuLu's. So good! We arrived at 11:00, and when we sat they started bringing around carts of goodies. We opted for the calamari, sesame rolls with bean paste, noodles, beef ribs, a pork sweet roll, and a few other steamed items that I'm not sure what they are - we just know they are good. As we sat enjoying one another's company the amount of food kept increasing. We ended up seeing dumplings, BBQ pork, many veggies, and some possible tofu make the rounds. Go hungry, you will not leave that way. From what I saw on their website they offer Dim Sum all week, so many opportunities to try it. The restaurant is large enough to have plenty of seating and space between the tables so you do not feel in the way as they make their way around with the trays. We got there and got seated by a nice gentleman and the old asian man walked up to our table and said "you need to wait till I seat you". like- someone just sat us down. but okay... Took a while to start getting carts to our table and my edamame was cold and there were the same items circling the floor. Variety was mid. i asked for rice rolls and they brought out a huge dish of flat noodles... At this point I was annoyed with the service and my food not being good. The variety is impressive, and I tried my fair share of dishes, but my heart always circles back to the standout - the peppered fish. Today we tried a "variety" of Dim Sum dishes, including steamed Shrimp dumplings, Seafood dumplings, Veggies, Pork dumplings, Turnip cakes, Shrimp & Leek pan fried dumplings, Sticky Rice with meat and more. Finished the meal with a flaky sweet egg (custard) pastry. All were tasty and filling! My only callout was I didn't see some "other" dim sum items we usually enjoy such as Tarrow, baked BBQ pastries, Crispy pork belly, stuffed eggplant or peppers etc. So be aware the weekend selections may be limited or rotated. Service is always friendly; even with language barriers you can communicate just enough or else someone else comes by and helps so it all works out. My mom is obsessed with chicken feet. And she always order extra togo everywhere we go. She took a bit of their chicken feet and spit it out instantly. This is my first time seeing that. Service - non existent. We had to wave our waiter down to get refills or extra napkins. He gave us wrong tea and forgot our rock sugar even though we asked several time. We get it. They are busy. But they are not short of staff. No excuses. Despite the 3 star reviews, we will continue to come here until there is a new dim sum place in town. Just got take out from here for lunch/dinner and I'm glad I didn't check the yelp reviews first or I might not have gone! It was pretty empty when I went to pick up my food and honestly I was prepared to love them just for how my order was packaged. Everything was hot, the Crispy Eggplant was seperate from the sauce so it stayed crunchy, the Hot Pepper Chicken was crunchy still (and addicting), the wontons in chili sauce were wrapped separate so nothing spilled, and the Singapore Rice Noodles are a new favorite. This place is fantastic. Had a craving for Chinese and stopped by on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We were the only people in the restaurant.l, though there was quite a bit of carry out happening. We had some dim sum, Chinese broccoli, salt and pepper shrimp, ma po tofu, and some goons. All were absolutely excellent. Lulu is one of our go-to restaurants for Chinese food. This review is for takeout from the Rock Hill location on Manchester Road. I called ahead and some of their dim sum items and rice porridge wasn't available at this location unfortunately; they are usually made at their main restaurant on Olive Blvd. We ordered won ton soup, xiao long bao (soup dumplings), sticky rice in lotus leaf, and crispy pan fried noodles with seafood sauce. Everything was delicious! The won ton soup was flavorful but not too salty, and it hit the spot because I was feeling under the weather. My kids gobbled up the soup dumplings, and the sticky rice in lotus leaves was so hearty and full of savory meat. The noodles probably taste better in the restaurant, but my family still liked the fried crispy noodles at home too. The seafood sauce had very little any seafood so I added some more protein later. Hopefully we will try more dim sum items here soon! read more

First time ordering from here. Called and ordered dinner for my family. 2 vegetable friend rice, 1 sesame chicken, 1 chicken lo mein, 2 orders of vege egg rolls and 1 large hot and sour soup. Lady on the phone was impatient and said it would be ready in half an hour. She called back 10 minutes later and had to reconfirm the order line by line. Got there on time and found that there were a couple other folks there picking up Door Dash orders. Same lady is manning the front and is frustrated that they are too busy. When she calls my name, I show her the coupon from checking in on Yelp and she says I have to print it for their records. This isn't listed on the page or terms. She finally says she will take off the $5, but scolds me for not bringing a copy for her boss and their records. I tried to be as nice as possible, tipped more than I should have probably and left. Located in the middle of olive where I would consider "China town" you can see LuLu's by the distinctive building and sign, it plays its part as a typical Chinese restaurant (imagine Rush Hour lol). There is a display case of different popular dishes to get your appetite going while you wait for a table. I noticed only a hand full of employees but considering everything they really do try to help each other accommodate their guests.. we were well taken care of! Their menu has each dish pictured which takes the guessing out of ordering, especially for those who aren't familiar with Asian cuisine. A plus is that the food runners bring everything out on a rolling cart so as they pass you can see what everyone else has ordered. My boyfriend liked the Thai curry shrimp- I prefer a sauce than a seasoning powder. Fried rice was a nice side that complimented the dishes. Dimsum was room temperature, BUT the flavor was really good- I will be back for that. Hot pepper chicken was extra crispy which was nice and the heat level wasn't too spicy, it did have an after taste of sour which was interesting on the taste buds. My friends and I were driving around Olive Street to find a good lunch spot and decided to stop at Lulu's Chinese and Dim Sum. I haven't had Dim Sum since before the pandemic, so I had lots of excitement and high expectations. Immediately after sitting down, the servers came around with their carts offering us food. We got SO MUCH food for just four people, but it was all delicious. We ordered radish cake, leek dumplings, shrimp liang feng, green beans, custard buns, beef tripe, pork ribs (pictured below), and also shrimp dumplings and century egg with congee. All the dishes really took me back to all my previous dim sum experiences, and I wanted to eat so much more despite my full stomach. If you're looking for an authentic dim sum experience, do go to Lulu's Chineses and Dim Sum! I will be coming back with friends, and it really gave me a taste of home. read more

Mediocre food served by rude people. What is there to come back to? First, the servers got into an argument about where to sit us. As in they were raising their voices at each other. One wanted us to go to a table that was already set up for more people, and the other one wanted us to sit at a table that was not set up yet, and have them set it up for the right number of people. When I ordered green beans, the very unpleasant third person involved in serving us asked if we wanted our green beans spicy or not. I asked for medium. They said no, it's all or nothing, which doesn't make any sense. We ordered steamed sole for $27. We asked if it was fresh, they truthfully answered no, but we decided to go for it anyway. Frozen should be fine for most fish. Some parts of the fish were actually hard. It was served lukewarm, probably from waiting a long time in the kitchen. So was the rice. And I did not notice this until later, but it was served in a melamine platter. These fish are served in the same platter they get cooked in, so this one was cooked in a platter that is not supposed to be used for this. Who knows what kinds of toxins we ate with the fish.
