So fast and efficient while so thorough. I was amazed at the technology. This is my new optometrist!

It's been a couple of years since the last review so it was time for an update. I tried to get a walk-in appointment, but they no longer do that so you'll have to schedule one. When you do make an online appointment, you'll be directed to a screen where you fill out lots of pertinent medical information. There's also a breakdown which lists the different services with the associated co-pays. I chose the retinal service and vision test which cost me a $65 co-pay with VSP insurance. The doctor is saw, Dr. Marcia Truong, was very thorough in her assessment. She is definitely very knowledgeable and kind. The intake process by the front office staff was easy to navigate and they were very pleasant. Me and my kid had a doc appointment today, it's my fault get the wrong time ,mine is 10:00am ,I thought our both on 10:20am ,my kid's appointment 10:20 we showed up ,the front desk girl doesn't feel happy about our arrival,i didn't feel welcome , since I missed my appointment for myself,she even did not give me another option to reschedule,my kid asked where is restroom ,she said "we don't have it " but would you give suggestions where is nearest one or say something else,I guess she is not care .be honest that's not professional. I couldn't be more pleased. The facility was clean, bright and extremely efficient. I was in and out within 20ish minutes and was definitely not rushed. They have all of the latest equipment and one thing I want to point out is the machine that you stick your eyes on and the doctor asks "what is clearer, A or B" the machine is automated. The doctor still asks the questions but it moved on it's own. I mention this because with Covid, flu, and who knows what else is going around, I love not having someone else's face in mine if it's not necessary. Dr. Patel and the staff were friendly and just did everything right. I'm very pleased with this practice. Oh, my GPS took me b hind Costco and said I had arrived. Highly recommend them if you are in need of eye care. I have been seen by Dr Patel and the team at Great Hills Eye Care in Pflugerville twice. Both visits went well from the moment I entered the office until I left. Dr Patel, the medical and administrative staff made both experiences wonderful. They are professional, attentive and patient with patients. The office is well appointed for the size of the space and kept squeaky clean. After your visit with this amazing team of medical professionals you can stroll on in to Costco to get your prescriptions filled (or not if you prefer to have it filled elsewhere). read more

They canceled my appointment 10 minutes before my scheduled time due to an issue with my insurance even though I had called the day prior and verified my insurance was accepted. Terrible experience, I would not recommend anyone to come here. Front of office staff is not organized. read more

Eye exam - excellent, gentle and very thorough care and professional demeanor. Dr. Emily Janak performed my annual exam. I'm very impressed on her professionalism and patient care. She explained every test , procedure and results. I'm 100% satisfied with her performance and care. This office is located inside the Costco building at Kelley Lane and I130. I've had great experiences all the times I have came here for my eye exams. They are also very attentive and helpful over the phone. If you list your email with them they will also send you updates. They do not overflow your e-mail they just send out what is necessary which I appreciate. They have a very clean and cozy facility. It seems as if all their equipment is updated and modern. They are prompt and on time with my appointments, but most importantly they are very affordable and reasonable for those with no vision insurance. Great place and Dr. Patel is great! read more

Dr Patel and Charlee were great!! I'm in my mid sixties and still wear contacts and I want to wear them many more years. Dr. Patel picked out the most comfortable brand that were easy for me to put in and take out. My previous eye doctor in p-ville always rushed and never offered me options like Dr. Patel. These are the most comfortable pair of contacts I've ever had and I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years. His assistant Charlee who is extremely kind, patient and very knowledgeable showed me an easier way to put them in and take them out. Again, my previous doctor did not offer this to me. read more

Great Hills Eye Care - Cool Retina machine that doesn't require dialation! - Optometrists Near Me - Pflugerville, Texas

My fiancé and I needed an updated prescription and decided to check out Great Hills because its located at our absolute favorite store ever and they took our insurance. The office was small but spacious enough and very clean. We were greeted immediately by the girl at the front desk and she had me at a machine before I could blink my eyes (hehe). She explained each machine and what it was going to do very thoroughly as we went. I then met with Doctor Patel who was friendly and walked me through the steps necessary for a prescription. Also without me telling him, he mentioned my mother's fuch's dystrophy (a potentially genetic eye disease I had indicated on my initial paperwork) and thoroughly examined my eye for any signs. The entire process was super quick and I was extremely satisfied with the level of customer service provided. We will definitely be returning in the future. read more

The staff is friendly and attentive, and Dr. Janak is caring and easy to talk to. I've been to other optometrists over the years where you wait forever to get called after you check in, but Great Hills Eye Care didn't waste any time and got me in on time and kept the appointment moving. read more

My husband and I scheduled for our eye exam at this location. They asked us to fill out the form at the front desk but never ask for a copy of our driver's license or ID before even start our eye exam. How would they know and confirmed who are without checking our ID? So anyone can use everyone else information and insurance to go do eye exam at this location? Insurance fraud alert? I talked and asked the receptionist when we finished of why they didn't ask for our ID or insurance card and they said it's not their policy to ask for ID, really? I asked so if anyone used my information called in to make appointment under my name, they can come in without no one know since they didn't check ID. They said never happened, I asked how they know when they didn't check ID. All their response were not in their policy to check. Wow. Really? *** UPDATE: I spoke with Dr. Provost and he said he will address the issue with his staff and that they suppose to check ID for new patient, which they didn't. So if you head to this location for the first time, see if they will check your ID. Dr. Provost reach out to us right away after my review and very sincere. I was visiting from out of state over Thanksgiving and this optometrist was able to get me in for a quick eye exam that included a contacts and glasses prescription. They don't sell contacts (you can order from the attached Costco), but they did give me a few extra pairs of trial contacts to make it through my trip. Dr. Patel is personable and great. I made an eye exam appointment about a week ago, at which time I gave them all my insurance info. They were good about following up with appointment reminders prior to my appointment date. However, I arrived at my appointment on the designated date (30 minute drive) and as I'm getting out of my car in the Costco parking lot, I received a call telling me my insurance (Medicare/United Health) was not accepted by them. Obviously, I was not happy that it took them a week to tell me this and they told me 20 minutes before my appointment!!!!! read more

I was desperate to get new glasses after avoiding doing much outside of my home with COVID running rampant, so I called Great Hills for an appointment. The group is located conveniently in the same building as CostCo, which has great pricing on eyewear. I was able to be scheduled the same Monday I called. As a new patient with some bad prior experiences with eyecare establishments, I had plenty of questions, all of which were answered completely and professionally - especially the pricing for optional testing with extra costs. We moved to the greater Austin area and when it was time to find an ophthalmologist the Costco in Pflugerville had been built. I made an appointment and was very pleased with the service and the manor that I was treated as a patient. A year later I was reminded via text that it was time for another appointment. Once again the service from the staff and doctor were excellent. This time my husband went for an eye exam too. He likes them also.
