We love the new big, light and airy location and are so happy to be able to stay and spread out for a lunch or coffee and treat. The staff goes out of their way to show how much they care about customers' experiences. The sandwiches are excellent. I ordered bag lunches for a work meeting recently and it was so easy to order online. Their cookies are amazing, especially the salted caramel! And they do a great job with the espresso too. A lot of places are mediocre when the coffee isn't really the main focus. There isn't a lot of parking considering how popular they have been since the move. read more

I am a Educator/presenter for an international company. This place does it right; all the way around. I love the samples; which always sucked me into more than I thought I was getting. I moved from out of state and so I am comparing this Great Harvest to the one from my home town in Temecula. They are COMPLETELY different and it makes me wonder if this company is a franchise? If so, are they not required to use the same recipes? That's curious to me. But I digress... I came in because, gosh darn I can't find a good cinnamon roll in this town. Where I used to live the best cinnamon roll in the city was at Great Harvest. It was huge, with amazing cream cheese frosting lovingly spread across its cinnamon goodness. I've never tasted a cinnamon roll that has beat it in flavor. It's divine. When I saw that there was a GH here I thought, I'm saved! But their cinnamon roll is not like the one from Temecula, no sir, not at all. It's got a light frosting (not cream cheese) and it tastes like it's made from whole wheat and honey and hardly has any cinnamon in it. Granted, it's probably healthier. But it tastes really bland. And who eats a cinnamon roll to be healthy anyways? I was disappointed. I also grabbed a couple of cookies (oatmeal chocolate chip) that looked the same as the ones from my hometown. Not so. They're really not sweet at all - they just don't really taste like cookies normally taste. Which is fine if you're into that sort of thing. read more

I was one those slackers running into Great Harvest to use an almost expired Living Social the other day. Apparently they were slammed by other procrastinators and had little for sale at noon on a Saturday. More disappointing than their lack of hippie bread selection, they apparently don't make sandwiches on the weekends, which is what I'd come for. Great Harvest bread is healthy, and jam packed with goodness like spelt and nuts. And, IMHO, totally bland hippie fare. I'd prefer a crusty loaf that puts up a fight, but that's really not their thing. Instead, I settled on some expensive granola. It's pretty good, full of nuts and dried fruits but I wouldn't pay $8.50 for it again. Especially when it doesn't even list the ingredients or nutritional content. Because I'm not really eating granola for fun. I also got a scone, which was not like other scones. This one was, surprise - another sort of heavy hippie deal, dark with molases and flecked with seeds and stuff. Not bad, but not what I'll take with my tea and crumpets. read more

i am so impressed with the new owners of this place. First, they've redone the inside and it's fantastic! Second, they've added sandwiches which are really, really great. Third, the bread quality overall has improved (that's what love does!). And fourth, they've added catering options and basically saved my interns life from chaos during lunch. She now calls ahead (a day or so beforehand) puts in our offices order and it comes all nicely plated, ready to go.... AND(!!) if you order more than $75 worth they will even deliver it within a few miles. I'm so happy someone with some business skills and a genuine love for their job took this place over and turned it around for the better! My hubs and I will be coming in MUCH more often now. I've driven by multiple times, but never stopped in. Due to the coronavirus; they weren't giving out samples which I commend. I got their veggie 3 seed sandwich on honey wheat. They really strive to make a great vegetarian sandwich; each ingredient was so fresh (no wilted vegetables). I also got a salted caramel cookie which was delicious. Okay. So Great Harvest rocks. Seriously. Food is good, employees at this location seem fantastic and samples--the samples are generously portioned. So why a three star rating? Because while visiting and eating a yummy treat in their lobby I watched one of the employees leave for about five minutes, then walk back in, put on his apron, and go straight to work. YEP. NO hand washing. He did put gloves on, but still, NO hand washing. Gross. I have worked in the fast food industry and fully understand how annoying it can be to have to wash your hands so many times in one day, but seriously, just do it. read more

My wife and i had lunch there today and it was wonderful! We had a hard time deciding which sandwich to choose from as they had many good choices. The folks that helped us were very friendly and helped us pick two that we shared. Our food was fresh and super good. We also got a cookie that was to die for. Even though they were busy, we had our food in less than five minutes. While we were there we picked up a loaf of the cinnamon chip bread and a gift card. The products are consistently delicious, and the staff is always friendly. Our favorite sandwich bread is the Dakota...yesterday after some raving about various products, we were gifted a free cinnamon roll and free pumpkin chocolate chip bread! It was a flavorful miracle. The pumpkin bread is incredible, which was on sale since it was 2 days old. So... i only went here because i saw them on facebook, and you could order online. I ordered online, recieved my confirmation (for Thanksgiving). I went in.. and... they didnt have my order. The person taking care of me, thankfully found everything i needed in the store. The cinnamn rolls werr ok.. my only complaint about them is there was no frosting on them. I like mine with frosting and for $15, they didnt even have em on. Of course, the girl didnt even flip em up so i coyld see them ahead of time, but is this just something they dont do? Maybe im just a bit too used to cinnabon. They were huge, though. The pumpkin bread, however, was utterly disgusting. The blonde brownie was amazing. Im just disappointed that they didnt have my order ready, when i ordered online and receieved confirmation. I will not order online from them anymore. read more

After living in the barren bakery-wasteland of Texas for most of the last decade, I can't emphasize how happy I am to be back in a city with a GH. Their bread is divine. Our favorite is the Dakota, baked Mondays and Wednesdays. Totally worth the $7.25. It is the heaviest loaf of bread you have ever lifted. I have been going to this bakery for years. I started when I worked in the neighborhood and would walk over to buy a cookie. Those are yummy as are the cinnamon rolls if you want a snack that isn't too sweet. Now I work in Springfield, but still go often to pick up loaves of bread. I have seen their their bread in some local grocery stores too.Their bread is the best because it is so fresh and most kinds contain whole grain. The Country Whole Wheat is a good all-around bread for sandwiches, etc., but you have to try the Apple Crunch. It is only available on certain days, but it is great to use for french toast. They have samples if you ever want to try any of their breads for the day. I recommend this place to anyone looking for quality and delicious bread! read more
