Excellent bagels; these are the real thing. My sister will only eat them from here, because apparently they're the only place left in Eugene that makes them the way bagels should be made (boiled, rather than baked). They're tucked away way up in the south hills at 40th and Donald, so not right in the center of things, but worth a special occasion drive or definitely a stop if you're in south Eugene. If you want the best selection you should get here early. By noon or so they were pretty low stock, but I got a couple asiago bagels for us. I also picked up some cream cheese; it was bacon and something--green onion? chive?--and I wasn't sure how it would be but was pleasantly surprised; it was pretty good. Service was fast and friendly. I believe there's a cash discount offered, if you choose to pay that way. There are a few tables in the place and it's not very fancy, really bare bones, but it's a good place for coffee and breakfast. I'd love to try one of their breakfast sandwiches sometime. I don't know why, but a good bagel sandwich makes me happy in the morning! As it is, I'll be happy to try jalapeño cheddar bagel sometime soon. read more

I was there during parents weekend, and I'm always staring my day with an everything bagel and coffee, so I drove from campus to check it out. This place was slammed but the staff was doing a great job managing the queue - what may have been the manager was nonsense shouting at them, but they didn't seem to mind, and it was busy... I ordered the everything bagels and cream cheese in bulk to-go with a couple to eat on the way. The staff were great and got it out faster than I expected. Overall, I thought the bagels were just average for a made-to-order joint. It could have been the busier than usual day, but these bagels were smaller than I expected and the taste lacked the salt bath crunchy exterior with fluffy centers that I'm used to from traditional bagel places back home. If you aren't looking for it, then you might miss it. Lox, Stocks, & Bagel isn't exactly in a recognizable space, but once you find it, then you're in luck. For starters, the bagels are made fresh daily on site. From sweet to savory to adorned, Lox, Stock & Bagels has pretty much every palate covered. They even make bialys, those Polish delicacies that are a cross between bagel & roll (softer because they're not boiled). Any or all of these offerings can be topped with flavored cream cheese, butter, or other spreads. A bagel on its own can run between $2-3, but when you add a topping or schmear, then you're likely around $5. That may seem a little steep, but the value is pretty outstanding. My foodie adventure buddy loves their jalapeño cheddar bagel, topped with the salmon cream cheese. That is a pretty much a meal and runs just shy of $7, which is pricey but oh so good. Even adding lox, a Jewish bagel tradition, can add up but it's worth that every-so-often treat. Besides, lox is a premium cut from the salmon belly, so the price tracks. Mostly, you can tell that these are bagel artisans at work. The staff really seems to value making the perfect bagel, and the sandwiches and bagel options show just that. The bagels have the right amount of softness with that boiled exterior, and the flavor profiles are distinct. Lastly, the space is not huge but comfortable. Wi-Fi is free and easy, there are plenty of tables, and they support local food needs with donations. The coffee is solid, with local beans roasted by Coffee Plant. Parking is easy and shared with the Safeway lot, and once you find this space, you're pretty much guaranteed to come back. read more

The bagels come out warm and chewy and they have a variety from sesame to chocolate chip to blueberry. They have a number of cream cheeses, but no sweet option. I stopped here on the way home this morning after seeing it recommended everywhere. It's deep in south Eugene so it's a bit of a drive but it's definitely worth it. When I walked in I was greeted and my order was taken quickly. I got a sausage and egg bagel sandwich for myself and a bacon and egg bagel sandwich for my partner. It took a couple minutes to be ready and I was on my way. The employee helping me was super friendly and personable and was eager to learn from his coworker. The sandwiches were delicious! They were still warm when I got home and the cheese was nice and melty. The bagels were so tasty, I definitely want to go back and get a dozen next time. The restaurant was small and unassuming, somewhere you know will have the best food. It's tucked away in a shopping center so it has a ton of parking and is easy to get in and out of. Tasty bagels! We like to get a half dozen or dozen to take home to enjoy for breakfast. There is a charge for slicing bagels in half for you, and we are usually too cheap to pay for it. The breakfast bagel sandwich we ordered were tasty in all the right ways. five stars for food. Two things stood out to me and seemed to indicate the quality of this establishment: 1. The line that's wraps around the lobby. 2. The number of people who were greeted by name and then informed: "we still have the _____" or "just 7 more minutes until______." It was certainly nice to see the way the staff greeted and interacted with the locals. It made me wish I lived in the quaint neighborhood that surrounds this strip. The line that curled about the lobby was tough for several reasons: 1. One must uncover where the end of the line begins when you walk in. 2. Being from out of town, my wife and I decided LSB would be a solid choice, because of it's high rating. We ultimately ordered 4 bagels (none w/garlic). Every bagel "we saw" cut there was cut on the same boards. This lead to our 4 bagels being coated with garlic. Due to a medical condition, I cannot consume garlic any longer. At point of order, we had no idea of this element. I would recommend awareness when anticipating a breakfast bagel w/sweet cream cheese, to not stand up to the expectation you may desire. I've been to a number of Eugene bakery/ cafes and this one takes the cake for breakfast sandwich and I cannot believe it dosent have more hype. Maybe it's the location? This sausage egg and cheese sandwich honestly blew my mind a little. The egg had little crispy edges, the cheese was so gooey, everything tasted so insanely fresh. Such a good start to my day. The bagel is a little of a crunchier, breadier texture rather than dense and chewy which is how I like my bagels personally but with that being said I would still recommend 10/10 times. Personally Not a local to the Eugene area, but hands down one of the best bagel spots there is! The girl taking my order had great vibes and really made sure I was taken care of. The bagel sandwich maker was efficient and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I got the jalapeño cheese bagel that just had came out of the oven, but I got it a little more toasted.. along with bacon, cheese and egg, it was sooo good - I wish I lived closer to be able to enjoy it more often. Great bagels but went on Mother's Day morning to buy bagels for brunch and they had a 6 bagel limit per customer- no sign on door or notice in website about this limit. Only told after waiting in line. I told them I have 9 people coming over but they wouldn't let me buy more than 6. I don't normally eat bagels, but my friend convinced me to get one from here and I'm glad she did. I got a chocolate chip bagel with peanut butter and it was too good! Recently, a helpful Yelper posted pictures of the new menu here. There was one item that really stood out -- a pork belly bahn-mi bagel sandwich ($10), with carrot, daikon, cilantro, jalepeno, cucumber, sweet chili sauce + mayo. I needed to have this, so I went the next day. The person taking my order suggested getting it on a sesame bagel, which was a good idea. All in all, it was quite tasty and a nice luxurious way to start the day. My only complaint would be that I didn't detect any jalapeño and I was hoping for a little heat. Also, I think it is best served w/ a toasted bagel to contrast with the soft pork belly, next time I'll ask for that. Honestly their bagels are even good on their own, I usually just get an everything bagel with cream cheese and call it a day. They also have an espresso menu and many coffee options. Fast service, but it's a small shop that can get crowded and not much to look at, definitely a good "to-go" place. Coming from South Florida, it was easy to find real New York style bagels. When we moved to Oregon, it wasn't so easy. The bagels need to be boiled first, then baked to get that crunchy outside & chewy inside. Lox, Stocks & Bagels does exactly that. We drove 1.5 hours to get there but boy, oh boy! It was well worth it. We came home with 3 dozen bagels and will be heading back for more in about another 2 weeks. Kudos to you! You got it right! read more

The only actual bagels in Eugene. Don't wait too late in the day (like after 12:30) or they may be out of bagels, certainly of your favorite flavor. Other "bagel" places serve bagel-shaped bread. Which most Oregonians (and much of theist coast) are used to. Try their product and discover something close to what you'd get in NYC. There is a difference. It might nt matter to you. That's fine. No shame in liking what you like. Kraft Mac-n-cheese has legions of loyal followers who embrace it as their go-to comfort food. On of our most frequented spots in Eugene, we had to come back out to support them after a temporary closure and change of ownership. Everything was just as high quality and fresh as always with all the classics still available. The menu has been re-written on the board and it looks clean and easy to read now. The everything bagel is a go-to for me, they include salt in the everything seasoning which really helps brings out the flavor. I am also a huge fan of their chocolate chip bagel, they use really high quality chocolate chunks that make for a delicious and indulgent treat. My partner is a huge fan of the pork roll as a hearty and filling sandwich. They often have little doggy bagels available that we grab as a treat for our pup. For my first visit, I got an Asiago bagel toasted and with butter. (I didn't want to hide the bagel's flavor under cream cheese.) I also got a blueberry bagel to go for the following day. The Asiago bagel was really tasty--a nice balance of savory cheese with the simple but tasty bread of the bagel. It had a great toast on it but way too much butter (to the point that it ran down my hand while taking a bite.) I'll know for next time to ask for less butter. The blueberry bagel--even though some people think sweet bagels shouldn't exist--was delicious. The blueberries were very tasty and gave a strong (but now overpowering) flavor of the fruit.
