You'll want to make a reservation WEEKS in advance and hope for the best! Our group ordered so many delicious items, and some standouts were: Shrimp Har Gao: These were crisp and tasty, with a skin that was the appropriate thickness - and of course had enough slip to it. Yum! Pork Shu Mai: These ingredients were tip top! I'm not a fan of pork, but I enjoyed this one... whatever they marinated it in was amazing. Stuffed Eggplant: Tasty, too! I love eggplant, especially the stuffed ones. The sauce paired very well and was simply satisfying. Mushroom Noodles: This was honestly a hot mess and hot miss. It tasted very bland like airplane food... highly recommend not ordering this! Cheung Fun - The rice noodle was crisp and very satisfying. Whether an oil stick or protein, highly recommend this one. What's nice is eating here was very relaxing late in the afternoon. The overall ambiance is spacious and quiet enough for conversation. Either we got lucky missing out on the liveliness, or all the aunties with tea left before we arrived. Overall, I could see myself coming back for the dim sum... but have a little more reservation (no pun intended) when trying their lunch items.

It is small and quaint with some of the smaller combined tables having plastic dividers separating the diners. I appreciated that the establishment has a clear process of operations for take out and dine in. The team is efficient in their service and ability to turn tables so we were seated pretty quickly. We tried the BBQ pork, roasted pork, soya chicken and BBQ duck. BBQ Pork - was standard and pretty good. However, I've definitely had better elsewhere in regard to flavor and crispiness. Roasted Pork - I really enjoyed this as it was moist, savory, and not overtly sweet. Soya Chicken - was ok... kind of dry. BBQ Duck - was ok as well. Definitely be sure to order the pieces without the bones. I opted for them to give me whatever pieces and ended up with barely any meat. Overall, it was good, but not anything extraordinarily amazing. FYI - they are a cash only establishment. We were not aware but luckily there is a grocery store on the second floor of the building with an ATM machine.

This recent trip to Vancouver, we went again and ordered a few new items to try. We loved their geoduck the last few times as appetizer, so this time we went ahead with the whole geoduck cooked two ways (ginger & scallion and wok-fried with hot pepper & pork). I have been eyeing their sour cabbage fish pot so we finally were able to order it this time. Then we added their garlic stir fried luffa. One thing I will say, the service has been consistently great in this restaurant. I remember the first time we came, years ago, hubby and I were so lost on what to order. The server handed us the menu and it felt like a book...quite intimidating. She patiently chatted with us about our likes and dislikes and helped us place an order. We've been back several times for many years and every one we encountered have been equally helpful and friendly. I don't know if it's because we like to come for early dinner, but the vibe always felt pretty chilled. Even towards the end of our meal that tables are starting to fill up, it was still a pretty nice atmosphere. I suspect tho that towards later in dinner service, the place might be hopping. Lastly, this time we had my mom with us and she is a tough critic when it comes to seafood and Chinese food. She was very happy with the dishes, so I know we'll continue to come back to The Fish Man when we are in town!

The ambiance is bright and lively, but people are definitely here for the food. Service was friendly and efficient, with servers, runners, and other staff constantly refilling water and clearing tables. We started with the scallops and vermicelli. They came with plenty of garlic, but the scallops were somewhat overcooked and tougher than I prefer--about three stars for that dish. The mala hotpot with lingcod was the star of the meal, with a wonderful balance of tongue-numbing spice, deep flavor, fish, and vegetables. The clams were equally delicious, served in a sweet and spicy sauce that was so good I kept stopping the staff from clearing the plate so I could spoon more of it over my white rice. The yu choy with garlic sauce had an excellent crunch and plenty of flavor, making it a great vegetable dish to balance the meal. The Coedo Yuzu beer paired beautifully with the spicy food and had a pleasantly sweet, citrusy taste. An excellent meal overall and absolutely worth the visit. Enjoy!

We ordered the soup with the expectation that it would be in some medium-sized bowl that the two of us can easily share. The soup actually was giant and is meant for a family. Luckily, it was absolutely delicious; the pork was super tender, the egg fits in perfectly, and the broth was tasty. Every drop was finished. The braised pork belly was also delicious. Tender and fatty, I wished there was so much more sauce for the rice to soak in. I'm also a super fan of pork floss, so loved its inclusion. The side is also noteworthy. The radish soup was so flavorful yet light, and the tofu was fantastic. Everything we ate was five stars on its own. Only panic was when paying our server said they only accept cash or debit? I only had credit cards and American money, but in the end, she was able to use my credit card. Not sure what that was about.

The staff works hard to keep things moving, and service is friendly and efficient. The food is the real highlight. Everything arrives beautifully prepared, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. Their Wagyu beef cubes is a MUST-HAVE. Its the best Wagyu beef I have tasted! We also ordered their Peking Duck. It's not the best I have tried but definitely above average. This order comes in 2 dishes. You wrap the duck skin with thin crepe, and the 2nd dish is basically the diced duck meat wrapped in lettuce. We balanced the protein with Tofu/Broccoli/Mushroom dish. We also ordered Yangzhou fried rice. These dishes alone kept 5 hungry adults satisfied. We struggled to finish every scrap!
