I went in for an oil change and brought it back 3 times because I was leaking oil. I finally took it to Burt Brothers and found out they over cranked the plug and I had to replace my oil pan which cost me $800+ to fix. I do not recommend taking your vehicle here. read more

Extremely Dishonest. My wife and I had our oil changed and other small services performed here for years. We liked them so much that when we moved to Layton and our power steering fluid started leaking we took our car all the way to Sandy to have it checked out. After paying $90 bucks for a diagnostic my wife was told we needed a complete rack and pinion replacement that would cost over $900. Rather than paying that much we decided to disclose the problem to potential buyers and sell the car. We didn't have any luck selling so we took the car to a new mechanic a few months later expecting to pay around $900 to have the problem fixed. Turns out the only thing wrong was a loose power steering hose. Our new mechanic tightened it up and only charged us $25. The rack and pinion had no issues at all. In fact it was so obvious that the loose hose was the problem that I feel Havoline either did not do a diagnostic at all, or may have even loosened the hose themselves to exacerbate the issue and convince us to spend another $900 on an unnecessary rack and pinion replacement. The hose was so loose it's hard to understand how it could have gotten like that without some help, and we did notice the power steering fluid leaked more after we paid for the diagnostic. I went back for a refund of my $90 diagnostic fee and the mechanic granted it to me without a fight, which was nice. However, I still feel the issue was either blatantly dishonest or a gross oversight on their part. I want to point out that Havoline's attached mechanic shop is new and perhaps it is only the new mechanic they are partnering with who is dishonest. We had some suspension work done here, which we were pleased with since it was a commuter car and despite being a major repair, they finished same day. But even better than that is the royal treatment we've received ever since we started using them for car repairs and not just oil changes. This may not be the absolute cheapest place in town, but I am willing to pay a little extra for this level of service (it's fair-not overpriced). Got my battery replaced December 2018 and it stopped holding a charge last week, so I returned to get it fixed. When it wasn't charging quickly after 30 minutes, they replaced the battery. Carey was running the place when I came in-- he was friendly and professional. read more

My husband went here to get his radiator flushed. Come to find out when he drove the car they left a clamp on one of the hoses. Which in return caused his car to overheat several times and blow out to head gaskets. Granted it is an older car and they did replace the radiator and the thermostat but now there's so many things wrong with the car it's not worth even fixing. So now unexpectedly we are having to go buy a new car which we were not planning on nor do we have the funds to do so. These guys just got me in and out in less than 10 minutes. They always do exactly what they say they're going to do, their prices are fair and they are honest. What I mean by that is they do only what needs to be done. They are very forthcoming and explain to you whether things do or do not actually need to be done. They're not solely about the sale, they're about taking care of you and in doing so, they will make money by having customers return. Bravo! The folks at this place have made life so much easier for me to take care of maintenance on all our vehicles, especially since my husband's schedule prohibits him from staying on top of all this stuff the way he would choose to be. He's definitely not an easy person to please, especially when it comes to his vehicles, yet anything I have had these guys do for any of his babies (and believe me, our Audi, our BMW, Infinity, Ford truck and good old Dodge are HIS babies) has met with his approval. This stuff can be stressful, especially when we're up against the clock for a safety inspection or emissions test or oil change or whatever. I've had nothing but great experiences with the service I've experienced at Sandy Havoline. I've never found out later (from my tough customer spouse) that he felt I was overcharged or that I might have been talked into something that wasn't necessary by these folks. Every time I've been in there having one of our cars or trucks serviced, depending upon the time, I'm offered a seriously decent cup of coffee, and (depending on the time of day and I am not kidding here) a chocolate covered strawberry. Really, a lovely customer experience for someone who doesn't know her rear-end from third base when it comes to maintaining our fleet. Can't say enough good things about these guys. read more

I left a review in the past that was very negative, after speaking with the manager who contacted me I was able to try them one more time and they fix my 4 wheel drive, since then I have taken it back for other work and it was done in a timely manner. I will continue to go here I just need to be clear about the work I want done and I have found that they stick to my request. Fast and friendly service but I left and my husband checked everything to make sure they actually changed the oil filter. (We've had that missed in the past at other stores) and they did. Unfortunately they broke my dipstick. Not a huge deal but they should have brought it to my attention. read more
