I've been to this location a few times, and each time has been a really solid experience. Nathan was the employee who helped my boyfriend and I with a new set of tires; turns out the place we had bought tires from years prior really screwed us over, but Nathan was able to find a close enough proper fit with their inventory and helped us out so we could stay in budget so it all panned out thanks to his assistance. I couldn't be more pleased with these guys if I tried, I came in hoping to swap a set of tires 15 min before close and was lucky enough to meet Daylin and Edwardo. The set of tires I brought in however wouldn't fit past the caliper in spite of coming off the same vehicle (god only knows why). Soooo there I was with two bad tires one leaking air that wouldn't hold up till the next day and vehicle on 4 jacks . We have shopped discount tire for 20 years. However we won't go back. It is getting to be be too difficult to get an appointment or reach our local store by phone. I've started using the online scheduling tool and have had difficulties in just getting an appointment. I recently had a tire issue I needed to get an appointment and scheduled it online. The soonest appointment was almost two weeks away. I took the truck in today for that appointment and they didn't have an appointment in their system for me. The person helping me didn't seem to be helpful with anything but scheduling a new appointment that is another three weeks away. Terrible customer service and an app that doesn't function. I took my tire in to get it repaired because it was flat (ran over a nail). When I got there, they told me my tire was too damaged to be repaired and that I would need a new tire. I decided to get a second opinion from Discount Tire in West Jordan, and they had my tire repaired within 20 minutes. Took my car in for a slow leak in one tire. They said there was a nail in a part of the tire that can't be fixed and sold me a new tire. There was still a slow leak so I took it back and they said it was the valve stem and replaced it. I paid $188 for a new tire that was not bad. 3 to 4 years ago, I took my other car in for a slow leak and was told the same thing that the nail was in an area that couldn't be repaired. They sold me a new tire then also. As I know nothing about tires, I trusted them, but now I wonder if they tell all customers with a slow leak, that it can't be repaired to sell a new tire. read more

I went into Discount Tire today for a balance and rotation, this was personally, my 2nd visit at this location (hubby usually handles this task). I was greeted and helped by Grant, the manager. He was professional, courteous and helpful, he even asked me how I liked the tires I currently had and provided the advice of "If they're continually maintained, they'll be the best tires". After he received all of the information, he advised me it would be about 20-25 minutes. As I sit in the lobby now, writing this out, so far, my only complaint is how cold it is in waiting area! I am wearing jeans, 2 shirts and a sweater; it's almost too unbearable and I may venture outside. The lobby and waiting area is pretty clean, especially for this type of establishment. I did notice that Grant was much more chatty and had created more rapport with every other customer that I was there to witness. Although I received good service and an overall experience, I didn't get that sense of genuinity, concern, and amazement that I experienced the last time I was here. I was just greeted by a young man, Henry, who advised me everything had been completed, just at the 25 minute mark. I'm torn about this place. I came in to get my tires rotated and waited three hours for them to do it. At 2:45 minutes they finally got to my vehicle and did the rotation in 5 minutes. Great. Not great. They neglected to balance them, so by the time I got home the truck was wobbling. When they finished the balancing today, which they did for free, the technician explained that they usually ask the customer if the vehicle wobbles and needs balancing. I wasn't asked so they hadn't done it. Now I know to ask. read more

Tyson is one of the managers and has helped me on both occasions. He went above and beyond on this last visit to help solve a problem with my wheel locks. How I drove through Cameron, Jacob lake, Kanab and road construction north of Richfield on the baldest tires without a blowout is freakin' miracle. Soooo I went to Discount Tire on Highland Dr in Sandy and the guys there were fabulous. Not only did I get 2 new tires, they removed and repaired a nail from a third tire and replaced my TPMS thingys. The customer service was superb. They were super nice. Pete and Adam were awesome to work with at this location. I had quotes from other places when I went in and they were fast and made some great recommendations that I ultimately decided to go with. I got rims and tires for less than any other bid I had AND I got a $100 Visa pre-paid gift card. They installed very quickly and even contacted the rebate center for me to initiate my rebate.. Great Discount Tire location. One of the bids I had was from another Discount Tire who failed to mention the rebate at all. I have a love hate relationship with Discount Tire. Have been a customer for many many years and I have always had no less than 5 vehicles under my belt at any given time. I've spent thousands of dollars at this location and the customer service has always been top notch, prices very competitive and they bend over to make you happy. I have had them install top of the line tires and had a few new sets of rims, mags, installed. I even trusted them with installing a full set of Comp2s on my 88 IROC rims, this was the very first tire change over on this 25K mile car and they took very good care of the rims, show car so don't need any scratches or mars on the wheels. Love them for that. Now the hate. I have had several sets of tires put on my business car, lots of driving, started with 3 sets of Nitos and went to the Discount's line for Yokohamas the last go around, all great tires but loving the Yokies..I had new mags installed as well, here is when the issues began, why can't the lugs be installed without marring the new rims?? Ok, so they replaced the original set they scratched up but next go around for rotation, bam, marred up the new set. They where happy to replace them as well but this time I went with a higher quality set that did cost me as the ones being replaced where not available. Well new rims, which I love, first rotation and wow, looks like someone thinks their a NASCAR pit crew, all around the lug nut holes are scratched up, looks real good on the flat faced rims that I got from Discount. I guess the only way to avoid this with them is to take just the rims in, like I did with my IROC rims. But wait that defeats the whole purpose of rotation. I hope someone at Discount reads this and makes adjustments, they really do have great service, too bad, I think they have lost a life long customer. Where to go for those Yokies now??? read more

I was sold tires by Discount tires, they rotated and balance and put them on my Jeep. I then drove the Jeep and could not drive it over 20 miles per hour without it jumping around the road dangerously. I took it back to Discount tire and was told the Jeep was fine. The Jeep was not fine, I then took the Jeep to an alternate tire store to pay them to balance the tires. The alternate tire store told me I was sold bad tires and they did not have straight tread, although the alternate tire store balanced them so they would work. I then went back to discount tire and approached them about the bad tread. I was told I was lied to from the alternate store and they were fine. Discount tire told me if the tires didn't last for the specified mileage they would replace them if they had been properly rotated. When it was time to get them properly rotated I took them back to discount tire to get them rotated. Again the rotating by Discount tire caused the Jeep to jump dangerously around the road. I then took it back to Discount tire to have them fix it and was again told the Jeep was fine. I could not drive the Jeep over 20 miles per hour without it being dangerous. I asked Discount tire to warranty the tires, they said they would not! Horrible service, horrible tires, time wasted and so much frustration. read more

i have tried to give my business to this store and the discount tire on Van Winkle. It seems after the extremely poor service i received before, I tried to give them my business again. I emailed both stores for a price quote and match for a set of tires, twice. They never contacted me back. It was only a few dollars cheaper but like I said I was trying to give them my business. Well after a few weeks of waiting and no return call or email, I went to their competitor, and the competitor actually gave them to me cheaper. Their service has always been great and always surpassed my expectations. I always replace my tires there and I truly recommend purchasing the certificate they have which is a tire warranty. It is so worth it. If your tire is ever damaged, they replace it with a brand new tire for free. There were a couple times where I had a nail in the tire and it damaged it and another time my tire was basically cut badly and Discount Tire replaced the tire both times with a new tire at no charge what so ever. We have been buying tires from Discount Tires for the past 10 years. They have a good selection of name brand tires and are always very quick in getting the new tires mounted. My brother was driving through SLC yesterday and needed new tires before going home. He loved the tires that he bought at this shop several years ago. They were able to find an upgraded load range tire for the extra load with his camper shell for this summer travels.
