The oil change was fairly quick since there was only one person in the lobby around 10:40 AM on a Thursday. Synthetic oil change was more expensive, but they seem to be around the same rate as other shops around them. They also said the suspension was fine. Nothing to be concerned about. -Full Service Synthetic $86.99 -Full Synthetic 5W20 5.9 gal $11.66 -High Performance Oil Filter $3 They also have a checklist that they provide as well while checking your oil. I'll leave a picture attached. There was a jokester at the service desk that was hilarious and made me feel at ease immediately. I appreciate people like that. I came here hoping to knock out a quick oil change before getting a car wash…read more After the techs spent about 10 minutes trying to upsell me on items from the "inspection" that I didn't request, they informed me that they had already drained my oil but couldn't replace the filter because the skid plate bolts were stripped and they couldn't get it off. This was right after I heard their torque wrench audibly destroy the bolts. They admitted that they had indeed stripped out the bolts trying to remove them. To make it worse they told me that while they wouldn't charge for the oil filter they would still charge me for the oil. I explained that it makes no sense to pay for the oil if I have to go right back somewhere else and have it drained again in order to replace the filter. After arguing they went back down and worked on the bolts and were able to finally get them off and replace the filter. But now the bolts were stripped and they couldn't put the skid plate back on safely! They claim to have called around looking for new bolts but couldn't find any. They did their best to re-attach the skid plate with just a few partially stripped bolts. So now I have to go have the skid plate removed again and reattached with new bolts. And they charged me full price for everything even though they stripped my bolts. What should have been an easy oil change has note resulted in a big headache for me. Avoid this place!

While I was there,…read moreI was explicitly told by their staff that they accidentally put windshield wiper fluid into my radiator. Immediately after leaving, my vehicle began having serious issues. It would not shift into higher gears, the RPMs were extremely high, and the car began shuddering as if it was about to break down. I parked the vehicle to avoid further damage. A few days later, when my husband started the car, it began blowing white smoke, and the same shifting and shuddering issues occurred again -- symptoms that clearly indicate a major mechanical problem that did not exist prior to this visit. When we called Take 5, the manager said he would review the video footage and call us back. He later claimed that they had only added a quart of oil and did nothing else. When I called back, the employee who originally helped me repeated the same statement and denied remembering the incident -- despite the fact that their staff were the ones who originally told me about the windshield washer fluid mistake. When my husband went in person to review the footage, Take 5 admitted they had watched the wrong video and then finally acknowledged that windshield wiper fluid was, in fact, put into the radiator. Despite this admission, they refused to take any responsibility whatsoever -- no repair assistance, no remediation, nothing. We were not asking for anything unreasonable -- only help getting the vehicle back into running condition after their acknowledged mistake. Instead, we were met with denial, misinformation, and ultimately a complete refusal to help. This experience has left us with a vehicle that is potentially severely damaged due to negligence, and a company that chose to avoid accountability rather than do the right thing. I would strongly caution anyone considering Take 5 to think twice before trusting them with their vehicle.

I hobbled into Tunex and even though they were obviously busy with many cars (including classics) in for repairs, they fit me in immediately and repaired the dangling panel quickly. Tunex at 1247 S. Jordan Parkway is one of those rare auto repair centers that you can really count on. This shop reminds me of the way my father ran our auto repair shop, except Tunex is bigger. These guys are efficient, honest, affordable, and, oh yes, great mechanics. I do most of my own work, but there are times when I don't have the diagnostic equipment, time, or, I just can't figure something out. Each time Randy has listened carefully to my concerns and what I'm thinking. They have not once disappointed me. And its not just me, I've watched them interact with other customers while I've waited my turn. They are treated with the same respect and seem to leave just as satisfied as I always am.
