I called in and confirmed that they could do an alignment on my older truck. When dropping it off I asked if they could press in a ball joint and they said yes it would just be extra labor. no problem. I get a ride back home, and they call me an hour later and tell me we can't do an alignment because you're ball joint isn't in. correct, I need it to be pressed in. They tell me they can't do it. so then I go to pick up my truck. On pickup the representative says that they can do it but they aren't comfortable because of the liability it puts them at. They won't do automotive work because of the liability? As a tire shop? They successfully wasted 2 hours of my time when they could have just told me that they were inept. I've gone to Big O for years and haven't had any personal issues with this place until recently. My girlfriend has had a history of their mechanics using fear mongering tactics on to try and make unnecessary repairs. This is not a surprise to me as most mechanic shops train their mechanics to prey on the unknowing. I had an issue recently where my truck wouldn't start. I had replaced my battery, the wiring to see if that would fix it. It didn't, so I brought it in. They instantly confidently assumed the starter which made me weary as I've dealt with bad starters before, but I trusted them as I didn't have time to continue my own repairs and needed the vehicle. Come to find out after leaving the establishment, my truck would continue to have the same issue. After taking some more time to do more research, I found out it was all caused by a loose screw under neath my steering assembly... Find a mechanic you trust, as most will work their way down from most to least expensive fixes. (Some of which are completely unnecessary.) read more

I got my front (2)rotors and brakes changed a year ago I had a squeaky sound coming from my brakes when I applied pressure to slow down or stop. My car was fine. No problems with the steering wheel, shaking. I have gone back twice because my new brakes and rotors are not working correctly. I went to Big O to buy 2 new tires a couple of months after they did the brakes etc. I asked them to please check my brakes because they didn't feel right. They said your brakes are fine. I knew that something was still terribly wrong so I went to Ken Garth Hyundai service and had them look at my brakes and rotors and they told me my rotors were rusted causing my brakes pads to wear uneven. When I went in to Big O shortly after for the third time to see if they would guarantee their work on my brakes and rotors? They said they would charge me $135 for the service to put new rotors and brakes on. I haven't driven enough miles to wear out the warranty. It's feels extremely dangerous when I'm on the freeway going 60 miles an hour and when I break my steering wheel shakes so bad. I have been a big fan of Big O Tire for many years. I just don't know what has happened to their quality service? I paid about $390.00 without a coupon the service guy gave me for $25 for two rotors and front brakes. I should've stuck with the squeal. Better than the shake any-day. So disappointed! I have been telling all my friends what a great job they do and to take their car to Big O's they'll treat you right. That message has changed. Update: I took my car in to Big O today. They handed me a long list of items that needed to be fixed. After being quoted, an outrageous price of what they thought should be the problem. My car hasn't got that many miles on it. Wow! I decided to go somewhere else. I gave them the chance to make it right on this visit. I would of had to pay for service charge for a warranty on cheap parts. Thank goodness that didn't work out. I don't need more cheap parts I would've started all over with the same problem. I'll certainly keep you updated. If the problem is fixed after I have to pay for a whole new set of rotors and brakes somewhere else. Update: I am flipping the bill to replace the cheap parts, rotors and breaks on my front end plus service $. Ken Garth Hyundai service in Sandy fixed my car, and it is working much better. They replaced The Big O parts, front rotors and brakes. It makes me feel really bad to write this review. I don't want others to have the same experience I did. It's been approximately two weeks. I have heard nothing. I would like my money back at the least. It has been life threatening at times. Suffered for a whole year with those cheap parts. Extremely dangerous in the winter. I received a coupon in the mail for an oil change, which was timely, because I was due. Upon arrival, I was confused by the setup-there's one building with a sign that says Big O Tires and another smaller one that says Havoline Express Lube. Since my coupon was for Big O, I went there, even though the building didn't say anything about oil changes, etc. (They later walked me over to the other building where the work was being done on my car.) I was immediately greeted and showed the guy at the counter my coupon and let him know that I needed an oil change. After some jovial exchanges, I learned that they could, indeed help me. Like with any other auto shop, they tried to up sell me on a few things, most that I declined. I did go ahead an replace my air filters; it had been awhile since I had done that. The first guy that told me about the air filter quoted me a price of 35.99, to which I said that I'd just leave them. Later, another guy came and asked if I wanted them changed and asked if the first guy had given me a quote. I jokingly said "10 dollars" and he said he would give me ten dollars off the price. I wonder what the actual price is supposed to be-seems like they were just throwing numbers out to see what would stick. I felt like they took good care of me, but I do feel like the overall cost was more than I expected. I paid $125 for an oil change and to replace two air filters. I had my oil changed at the express lube here. They pulled out my air filters to show me. I did not want my cabin filter replaced (they told me it wasn't that bad) so they put it back in. Over the next week my heat was making a horrible noise and the pressure wasn't good out of the vents. I came back to have it looked at. A surgical mask and a napkin were shoved in my cabin air filter and it was bent. I know from seeing it the week previously that it looked fine before and definitely was not having any issues before. They gave me a 15% discount on the filter and replaced the cabin air filter.. why did I pay for you guys to fix something you broke??? I will never go back here again. I came in here on a Wednesday afternoon to get a quick tire repair done. I was greeted quickly and efficiently checked in for my walk-in appointment. I asked on a wait time and was told 30-45 minutes. The waiting room has chairs set up in a relatively socially distanced way, and patrons had masks on (though not always properly) so I felt ok waiting inside. The place was pretty hopping but the employees seemed adept at keeping things moving. My 45 minute wait was more like an hour and fifteen minutes but they fixed the nail in my tire for free so I can't really complain! I'll probably head back this way when I next have a need. I moved to Utah in July 2021. In Colorado, my sister's in-law family owns a Big O Tires. It is the only place I would take my car to get repairs. When I moved here, I wanted to continue going to Big O because I trust their services more than any other place I've been. The Big O Tires on 10227 S. Redwood in South Jordan is amazing. (Sometimes I might even like it better than my family's location! ) Brandon has helped me multiple times when I have had to get repairs done, and he is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and has excellent customer service. He never tries to pull one over on me, which a lot of car places do. Brandon is an honest salesman, and great at his job overall. "The team that you can trust" no. Actually no. Took my car to Big O on Highland drive to have some work done. The noise started back up and since I live so close to the South Jordan location, I went ahead and took it there. It was there I met Cruz. I explained the noise, he said they'd do a 22 point check on my vehicle and that he would get back to me. I explained the account was in my dad's name and gave him my phone number. I got a phone call that they had found the problem along with 5 other problems. They started going over the detail, I told them I would drop by to get a print out. I walked in and spoke to Matt, he was thoughtful and understanding of the total bill and told me what should be a priority. After getting out to my car and doing some figuring I realized I should just go ahead with all repairs so I could have a safe vehicle on the road. I walked in at 4:53 (one hour before close) and gave Matt the keys. He said they would get started and order the parts. I told him I would be out of town until Monday and not to rush with getting it done. Friday at 10:00, two hours after opening I was told my van was done. I again said, I was out of town and wouldn't be picking up until Monday. Friday night my dad called me from his vacation telling me he had two calls from Big O and worried something was wrong. Monday around 8:30 I walked in to pick up my van. I was in a hurry, so I paid for it and got into my car. As soon as I got in I could see there was a problem, my cabin filter and most of the contents of my glove box were on the floor. I walked back in and the gentleman said, we don't even have one in stock we will order it, you'll have to come back. Excuse me? You've had my car four days, and bugged a person you should have never bugged about picking it up on Friday and the work isn't even done?! I left, around 11:00 I called because I hadn't heard anything about the cabin filter and they told me it was in and to come get it installed. In the meantime, I learned the light bulb they charged me to repair was not done and my car that had just been aligned was pulling to the right. An hour and 30 minutes later Cruz came and told me it was probably because I needed new tires. Tires that I had put on in June were somehow no longer good. He said he only suspected and would keep working on but in the meantime someone would take me home. I arrived home, around 5:00pm I had heard nothing, so I reserved another rental car and went to pick it up. After picking it up, my ELEVEN year old calls me to let me know that Big O had just dropped off my van and keys to him. My son is 11, no phone call from Big O just my car dropped off without any communication, to a child. My rims are now beat up from them changing tires and putting tires back on, I'm out the cost of a rental car for the day and then I got a phone call from Cruz telling me this all happened because he didn't have my phone number...yeah, you read that right, he called me without my phone number. In summary- if you want work not completed- but you paid for it, work rushed with no quality control, laundry list of issues pointed out on your car only to have an issue "somehow missed" (in the words of the manager) and a shop that guesses as to what is wrong? This is your place. This is truly buyer beware. Maybe stand outside and watch to make sure work is completed or ask for the used parts. Work will get done fast but it won't be completed and it won't be right. read more

If you're looking for a place that will watch out for your car like it's their own, work with you to get the best price, and make recommendations for what can be done in the future, this is the place to go! Had some trouble with uneven wear in my tires. Big O Tires took the car in that day for a free alignment check, put two brand new tires on it (could have easily upsold me for a whole set) and recommended where I go for some additional work on my axels that was causing the trouble. I was driving back from another state and ended up completely destroying my tire. I changed it on the side of the highway and put on my spare. I drive a jeep so all 5 of my tires are the same. The main reason for my visit is the most important thing to note in this review. The main reason I visited Big O Tires was because my tire sensor was off. All my tires were aired up and the light was still on. Yes, I knew the spare was going to need replaced and that the tires could use a rotation soon. However, I've had quite a few major medical costs and other personal things that have put me in somewhat of a financial hole so I was not in a huge rush to get the spare and everything. Brandon convinced me to order the spare anyways and I left the store without having the one thing I needed--the sensor being fixed. Okay cool so I arrive for my spare on a different day. That was about $300 just for the one tire. Then of course I get upsold and likely lied to about needing a few filters. That was about another $100. I finally get to leave after hours of sitting in the lobby waiting. I turn the corner and my low pressure light comes on again. I drive back to the shop because I live in BFE and want to get it fixed while I am nearby. The guys in the shop make a really rude comment about "you need to drive it for a while first". What is 600 miles before I came to the shop not enough? I'm not stupid but I appreciate your attempt to make me feel that way. I come back again at a later time saying it's still on. They make the same excuse. How much does one need to drive it? Not that long. It's called and excuse because they don't feel like fixing it, which is not appreciated when they are also so mean about it. They treat me like a child that doesn't know what I am talking about and have just been so rude throughout the process. Guess what? We are on almost a month since I came in to fix the low pressure light (my tires are all perfectly inflated, hence the reason it is a sensor issue) AND THE LIGHT IS STILL ON. $400 just to get scammed and talked down on by the dudes that work there. This location has unmatched customer service time and time again. My most recent example happened this week. I stopped at the SoJo location on my lunch break to get some air in a low tire. While filling the tires they found nails in two of the tires. I only had 15 minutes to get back to work so they gave me a ride back to work, patched the tires and then delivered the vehicle to me within the hour. All of that, and they didn't make a single cent! Free air for tires service if you are a customer 3. We had our wheels mounted with tires for the snow so when we came back today to change into our warmer weather tires. I Cannot recommend this location after my experience with them, I am a dyi mechanic and know a little more then the average customer so with that being said here is my experience. I had sent my wife and 17 year old to get new tires and an alignment, due to the fact that I had just replaced the upper and lower drivers and passengers side ball joints, the outer drivers and passengers side tie rod ends inners where fine and didn't need immediate replaceming), and the sway bar bushings they were told it would be a few hours so they went back home (drive 2 vehicles as I had told them it is going to be a long wait (winter snow tire changes ect ) they called the 17 year old son 2 hours later to tell him they could not do the alignment because of bad inner tie rod ends and a bad outer tie rod end and that the could replace them for $600 luckily my son helped replace those parts and said uh yeah I'll talk to my dad about that, so when my wife called back and they told her the same thing she put me on the phone with them and I notified the person that the outers are only a couple weeks old he said what brand did you buy , I said autozone he said som like well a brand is a brand but but a brand can not be good then told me we can put it on the lift and we can take a look I said ok I want to see it, when we arrived we discussed what was said on the phone and the guy scrambled to find the right person to ask about our vehicle (2001 tundra) who told us he will Look at it then proceeded to lecture me on a leaking rear wheel seal and how the brakes are soaked and needed replacement I told him I have the parts to fix that and the differential still has fluid in it (irreverent to an alignment but whatever he just had to get that in ) finally to his credit (the only reason it's a 2 star not a 1) he did confess to the tie rod ends being fine and that his guy shook the tire too hard?, I said ok thanks for admitting that but what about the alignment, he said I'll get it right in and even bump the next car, well an hour later and as I watched 2 or 3 cars go in I finally got out of there once again lied too read more

I have done oil changes, tires, alignments, front-end work, you name it. I drop my vehicles off at lunch and they are done before my lunch is over. This location is fantastic. I had my tires from tirerack.com were delivered to firestone up the road and I went to pick them up. I was the only person there and I was actually told we won't be able to get to you for a few days! Monday come back and we will be able to mount those. So I said give me my tires and went up the street instead to big o tires and they did it instantly.. I will never go back there now will I let any friends or family go there. So I went in about three months ago for an oil change because of the poor weather, with my new car just bought. Today, I personally did my oil change this time because the weather has gotten better, keep in mind no work has been done to the car since. I did the oil change myself this time and noticed bolts and screws missing at the bottom cover of my engine bay with prior knowledge of knowing that all screws and bolts were accounted for since I normally do my own oil changes. I don't understand, especially because the oil change ran me upwards or $90. The Technician was "JA" the cashier was "IS" Service was "IS" and Hood was "CT". Just outrageous, now I'm curious if anything is missing from my vehicle. read more
