I took my Lexus in today because the dealership told me 2 months ago that my brakes were almost completely gone and would need to be replaced very soon. The price the dealership wanted seemed completely outrageous so I took it to BigO. I'm so grateful for their honesty apparently there was nothing wrong with my brakes, Romero said I had 8-10,000 miles left on them and recommended that I wait. They could have easily told me they needed replacement and I would have believed them. if you are looking for an awesome place to get car repairs done I highly recommend this location. I have been dreading going to get my oil changed and tires rotated because it's always an ordeal and takes up a lot of my time. We only have 1 car for my household, so when it is having work done on it we are trapped for the time being. Anyway, I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 Thursday morning. I arrived at about 10:36 and all of the associates were busy so I waited and then when I was called over I checked in and gave them my keys. I was offered a free alignment check at this time and I accepted. I did let them know I had to stay and wait for it, but was not given an estimated time frame for it to be completed. There were a few people upstairs waiting as well, a woman who was there before me said aloud that she had been waiting for over 2 hours for a tire repair. She said that it usually goes quicker if you have an appointment, but that was not my experience. I waited for about 1 hour and 45 minutes before I went to ask how much longer I should expect and the associate who helped me previously said he would go check, it took some time as I guess it was all the way across the building, but he came back and said the rotation and the oil change were done, but they needed to lift it up to do the alignment check, which I was fine with until I asked how much longer that would take and he said 'oh not much longer, maybe 45 minutes' and I replied 'pass' because I was not spending that time for something I didn't even ask for or need. (I'm sure it's like a sales pitch thing to check the alignment for free so they can tell you it's off so they can charge $75+ to fix it) Anyway, so he said he would tell the guys in the back that. About 10 minutes later he comes looking for me. I pay the amount and he slides a car key that is not mine across the desk. I let him know that is not my key..... so then he had to figure out where my real car is at. He was quite flustered by this point. Another associate who was on the phone said to go around doing a whole refund and waiting days for the amount to be issued back, just to keep my payment for Becky's car and have Becky pay for mine. They had to type in some coupon codes or whatever to make them the same price. And ultimately I don't mind that because it was for the same price, but it just was handled a little bit unprofessionally and made me less confident in the establishment and how they handle things in general. Then when I saw my car pulled up outside and the key was handed off to the front desk guys I walked up and waited patiently because they were both talking on the phone. My key and the plastic folder thing with the paperwork were temporarily misplaced because of inadequate multitasking. I wanted and needed to get out of there. You can see and hear that they are busy, but something is up. I don't know if they need more workers in general, or just need to re-work the organization and flow of the work. The warranty on the tires was/is nice and the free tire rotations, but ultimately the amount of stress and wasted time to have regular maintenance done is really pushing me to not purchase any more tires from Big O. And I surely won't ever be back for an oil change. (Other places do them in 15-30 minutes) I have had 1 good experience and several (3-4) not great experiences in about a 3ish year time period so do with that information as you will. read more

Scheduled an appointment to have my tires rotated. The place was super busy. Everyone was wonderful, friendly and I was able to get in, get out and have the service completed all within an hour. I had a leak in my valve stem on one of my tires. My son took it in so they could repair it. He was told that the tire was out of warranty and could not be repaired. He would have to buy a new tire. A month later, I had the same issue with a different tire. I took it to a competitor and even though it wasn't a tire I bought there, the competitor fixed the valve stem for free! This Big O is only seems to be interested in taking my money. I won't go there again. read more

Took my Hyundai to get a oil change, then I end up up buying new tires.. I was told it will take an hour an a half. 3 hours later still not done? then the next day I took my other car (MDX), to get a oil change, rotate and balance tires, then I end up buying alignment to cost me more money.. SAME THING I WAS TOLD BY "BRANDON" That It will take an hour and a half and then it took another 3 hours to fix. I keep getting warned not to come here yet I'm here for my second time. First time I was a disaster. They told me they could have my car in half an hour and took over 2 hours and then left dirty rags in the car and it was all dirty. This time I called ahead and gave all my info to get two new tires on my car and said they could get my finished before close if I got there by 5:30 just to get there and them tell me they couldn't do it tonight until I told them I already called and he went and found the guy I spoke to and honored it. Just to tell me they couldn't put them on because it's all wheel drive and I would have to replace all 4. Fair. I took my car in to fix the headlights issues. After spending $185, they said there was a bigger issue they couldn't solve and i need to spend more ($1900). Later, after inspection, they told me the turbo cooler line was leaking oil, which could cause the turbo to fail, so I scheduled another appointment to fix it. After spending another $185, they said the issue wasn't related to the oil leak but might be the transmission or something else. In the end, neither the headlights nor the turbo/transmission were fixed, and I spent $370 for nothing. I wasted my time for nothing. read more

They spoke highly of my old car (instead of shaming me like the other company) and that for 12 years I had under 150k miles. They really know cars and they are incredibly kind. The West Jordan location is always pretty quick! They are always friendly and seem to have fair pricing. I've always been able to get tires and parts that same day. Have had two alignments done and the diagnostics they perform to help our issues are not beneficial at all. First alignment they only adjusted 1 tire because the other 4 were right in the specs. Service technicians are very friendly. Replaced front end struts, battery, new tires @ $3k+. TPS sensor light would not go off. Brought back in, replaced sensor. Over $130 more. Note: New set tires do not include new tire sensors. Two weeks later, looked under hood, battery not replaced. Had to prove to them I paid for new battery. Just had tires rotated. Sounds like they damaged brake calipers or shoes. Don't believe I will use them again. read more

I made an appointment and never received a call that my appointment was confirmed just emailed. No text ever received either. I bought 2 new tires. I had to wait for 1.25 hours for the work to be done. My final cost ended up at over $90 what I was quoted. I was in total shock. The clerk checking me in never told me about what the fees for installation would be and he even said that I had previously declined to other services, which I never did. I watched people coming in after me, leaving up to 30 minutes before me. I was never told about the progress of my car only that they needed the lug lock for my rims. After sitting around in the uncomfortable chairs, I went up and saw my car wasn't being worked on at all. One clerk found my car in the "completed" bin and it looked like no one ever checked. Since the costs were so much way more than expected, so much of my Christmas shopping got cancelled for Black Friday. Received a phone call that my truck brake job was done and can come pick it up. Asked for an out the door total and was given one. 20-30 minutes later when I pick it up and pay I was told it was $143.66 more than what I was told and what was showing on my ticket that was in a sleeve with my keys. I pointed that out to the cashier and and was told "Oh, sorry we forgot to charge you for...." When you produce a ticket and tell someone over the phone one total you might wanna make sure that the Computer and Sales ticket matches what has been told over the phone. This kinda makes customers a little bit upset and really wondering if your commitment to customer service satisfaction is really up to par. Not a good way of doing business, I'll be thinking twice about coming back for anything other then flat repair. read more

I don't write opinions very often but this place sucks. I took my car in for an oil change and to fix an issue with my suspension. After 1400 dollars of fixes I found out that the suspension still has the same issues and now I have a oil leak. I called to tell them and they said to bring it by and they'll look at it. Sure enough they said nothing was wrong with my car and the oil leak is from getting oil on the splash guard when they changed it. It's been a week now and it still leaks oil. I ended up taking it to the dealership and apparently big O screed in the drip pan bolt without the washer and that's why it was leaking. read more

Very disappointed with the service and customer service at this location. When I dropped off my vehicle they said it would be about 1 1/2 hours before they could look at it. After 3 hours passed, I called for an update, they said that they would call me back in 15 mins. After waiting over an hour for them to call me, they still hadn't. They were about to close and I wanted to know what was wrong, and if they were going to keep my vehicle over the weekend. When I finally got through to someone a few minutes after they closed, the employee who answered told me that he couldn't tell me what was wrong with my vehicle and to call back the next business day. He told me he just answered my call as a curtesy... Needless to say that night I went by to grab a few things out of my vehicle so they wouldn't get stolen while my vehicle sat there over the weekend. My vehicle was UNLOCKED! Very dissatisfied with the service and the lack of communication. In the end I still had to pay the ridiculous amount for a diagnostic charge. If you want good customer service and a place that cares about the security of your vehicle I would recommend going someplace else. read more

I requested to have my tires balanced and rotated. Chris Hoffens was the "customer service" person. I again requested that they make sure to balance my tires because I had a slight "hop" at 55 mph. He then told me I needed new shocks and an alignment. I would like to know what college he went to that taught him to diagnose a vehicle without even looking at it. I declined the extra services. I told him I had recently replaced the shocks and had an alignment. He replied with "oh I guess you enjoy telling me how to do my job" with a great deal of attitude. After the job was complete he gave me my key and said "I was goog to go". I requested a receipt so I would have proof of the rotation for my warranty on my tires. He told me he had other things he had to do before he could get to my receipt. He walked away for approximately 5 minutes, when he returned, he printed my receipt. I noticed he put the incorrect milage on the receipt and he said "it's not important", then turned to another employee, ignoring my request to fix the mistake. I then decided to leave. Put new tires on my car and went to get an alignment done, was told they couldn't get my caster to align cause they ran out of thread. When i asked about what part ran out of thread, he was unable to tell me. They tried to charge me $200 for an alignment they couldn't/wouldn't do. When i told him it was suppose to be only $100. Was told if i didn't pay $200, i would have to pay another $100 when i bring the car back into get my caster aligned. So ended up having to pay $117 for an alignment that wasn't done or they wouldn't give me the keys to my car. This place is a joke. Lying to my face and trying to con more money out of me. How can they tell me they couldn't align my car, when the Big O in Kearns on 5400 S got it to align with no problems last year. Had my tires changed in April . Went today because while I was changing my brakes, I saw my lugs were stripped really bad and brought it up to them. I was told I was the cause of them being stripped ? I really don't understand how I can do that with a tool unlike you guys using electric tools to put the lugs back on ? I have the invoice and everything so please tell me how I could of messed up the lugs bad to the point that I couldn't even take them off of my front tires ? Had been taking flat tires to them to be patched for years. Suddenly last week I get some thutz who tries telling me that the nail was in the sidewall (it was about an inch from the side of the tread area), then tells me he can't patch it because the tire is too old (!). But of course he could sell me a new tire! Took it down the street to Discount Tire, and it wasn't too old for them, they had it patched in about 15 minutes.
