We had our vehicle towed in to get it checked because the "knock" sensor went off and the check…read moreengine light was flashing. We were told it needed a new engine, although they didn't do any diagnostic tests on it except to read the OBD II code. We wanted a second opinion, so we had it towed to Ken Garff's service dept (downtown SLC). After they did a full and thorough inspection and diagnostics, they told us that the engine DID NOT need to be replaced. The issue was that the "knock' sensor needed a software update. We will NOT return. Cost for new engine @ Hillside: $7,600 Cost for new engine @ Ken Garff's: $5,500 Cost for diagnostics @ Ken Garff's: $190 All we had to pay for was the diagnostics @ Ken Garff's
