Zero stars if I could. During my visit, I asked for an oil change.I was told it was $92 dollars. I also had a $30 coupon. When I checked out my total was around $102.93 with the coupon. I was told that my car must have needed extra oil and I must have been really low. I stated that's odd that no one came and told me that and I didn't authorize that either.Then, an hour later I received the itemized invoice via email. I was charged for three extra items totaling an extra $34.07. When I called the shop they said they would give me store credit on my next visit. I declined and said I wanted to be refunded on the card I paid for the extra services. I still have not been refunded and will be calling back and visiting the store ( almost two weeks later). This type of service is dishonest and scamming customers. I do not trust this shop to service my vehicles anymore. While I was waiting in the lobby the receptionist was also listening to explicit social media videos on his phone. This was uncomfortable and unsettling. He also made weird comments about not using my client profile contact information to text me. It felt borderline suggestive. read more

Worst place ever ! Charge you for items you didn't approve! Went there today for a $75 oil change. I approved a $50 cabin filter. My bill was $123. They charged an extra $21 to put in max engine treatment, which I didn't approve. They said I needed it because I needed it to full synthetic and I don't. I can use synthetic blend on my car. $4.99 for shop supplies ? What's that ? $10 extra for oil ( why I already paid $75 ). Stay away from this place. They had extra fees without approval.! If you don't care about your vehicle then this place is right for you. i recently had my oil changed with these people and the day after being serviced I wake up to a pool of fluid in my driveway which turned out to be transmission fluid. Not sure what was going on when I got there as I left within a few minutes, walked inside and heard someone having a tantrum, throwing things and screaming at other employees inside the garage. Didn't want my car in that environment so walked out. Looked like an employee walked out soon after I did too. Some medium height guy with slicked back hair and neck tattoos was still screaming in the parking lot as I was driving off. Didn't know I was at my anger management class today. This was the 2nd time after having my oil changed that the engine splash shield was NOT put back on correctly and came down while I was driving and making a horrific sound driving the speed limit of 75mph. To summarize: DON'T go to the grease monkey in Castle Rock, drive to the one in Parker, it's worth it. Trust me. Full story: (Backstory: My car is incredibly well maintained by 2 different mechanics, both of whom I trust deeply and whom are booked out for days, hence why I wanted to go here for a super quick oil change before a spur of the moment road trip) I called to get an estimate of how long an oil change would take, the employee refused to give me an average expected wait time or even an estimate based on the amount of people they currently had in line. So I drove in and walked up to the front desk. It was clearly the same guy from the phone. I stood 3 feet in front of him looking directly at him as he did paperwork for upwards of 5 minutes before he even acknowledged my existence. Literally, I could have been invisible. Gave him the car keys and then he tried to up-sell me on bunch of services I didn't need, then he took my number and said it'd be about 1.5 hours until the oil change was complete. 2.5 hours later, I called in for a status update. No answer. So I went in. The lobby was empty and I could hear music and laughing coming from the garage. So I stood there waiting. Several minutes later, the guy walks back in, looking down at his phone and texting. After he finished his texts, he finally noticed me. Only then did I learn that they had not performed ANY services upon my car because some "issue" that he said was "so severe that I should probably have my car towed out of the shop" (exact quote) and then he started to go in to some long explanation while referencing a laminated piece of paper that had pre-printed photos of the 'issue' they encountered on my car, which I'm sure would have culminated in him 'strongly advising' that I pay hundreds of dollars for the repair that had magically materialized out of thin air. I cut him off mid sentence, took my key back and walked out. This guy and this company are the textbook definition of a slimy/untrustworthy mechanic. I will never return and I will warn everyone I know about them. Absolutely the worst customer experience I've encountered in years. Update: to reinforce my point, I drove to a different Grease Monkey in Parker that is owned by different management and recommended by a friend. I told them what "another mechanic" had said, so they took apart the entire unit and brought it in the lobby to physically show me the parts, saying "I don't want to bad mouth whoever you saw, but this unit is in perfect condition. No problems at all. Whoever looked at it before lied to you." On top of that, they did my oil change, completed all those inspections in under 20 minutes AND they gave my wife a flower. I took my 2020 pickup truck for an oil change. After about 50 minutes of sitting (20 of which was spent waiting for it to be pull in) an employee told me they were out of my type of oil-filter. He told me a parts truck was on the way and should be pulling into the lot at any moment. Miraculously, they happened to find a filter to put on my truck. That took about another 10 minutes. When I asked if I get a $1 discount for every minute they were late (which was about $10), he responded, it's not our fault. Well, whose fault is it? Not mine. They blamed the part supplier! I was greeted by a young employee and was told he was the only one present and wasn't allowed to drive my car in the bay, so he had to wait until another employee came in. Wish I could give zero stars. They had the car in and out, 10 minutes tops to the point I was wondering if they had checked everything. The invoice said I decline services which I was not consulted on. I only got the invoice after signing. I honestly went to get my windshield washer fluid filled (it was bone dry empty upon arriving) in addition to the oil change. The invoice said they filled it. It was bone dry empty upon leaving. I went back. They put some in it. Went to the local gas ration to fill up and started to double check the work. New oil filter, check. New oil, check. All the other non oil items were not completed as written on the invoice. The guy who seemed to be running the place said there must have been a leak for the coolant, windshield washer, other liquids, etc.... I said not in the less than 1/8 mile I drove and returned. They did all of the extras I like such as topping of fluids, changing the filter, putting air in my tires etc. They even cleaned up my car a bit which was an unexpected surprise. When they were done with my car they brought me out to inspect their work and showed me what was done. I thought that was a nice touch that builds trust. The cost was a little above average but the service was good enough to justify it. When I need an oil change in the future this place will be on my shortlist to go to. read more

They make recommendations, but do not push hard for unnecessary filter replacements and "up-sell" items. With 5 cars in our family I really appreciate their honest approach. I was was driving on the freeway and the underbelly of my car started falling off! It was making a loud grating sound. I live in Boulder and needed to fix this before driving the 1.5 hours back home. I immediately took the closest exit and went to the closest auto shop- it happened to be this Grease Monkey location. Will Tony Brandon immediately took care of me and did everything they could to fix the underbelly protector that was falling off my car. In the end they made it so I could safely drive back home. Will Tony and Brandon were extremely professional, helpful, caring and everything you could want at an auto shop! They did all this for free- just out of the fact I was in need! If I lived in Castle Rock this would be my go to location! I've been taking my two cars to this location for quite some time. Both of my cars had oil leaks this was due to the stripping of the oil pan screw on both cars as told by several mechanics. One of my cars was destroyed as the engine siezed. The owner and the manager will lie, cheat and steal not to pay out. Please if you love your car spend the money some where else. Fairly disappointed with this place. Took my car in, having called ahead and told 'first come first serve.' The guy who answered the phone (Rolondo) was not very friendly and that should have been my first warning... When I arrived, there was nobody in front of me and they took my car in for a normal, basic oil change. They now have a clock that starts a countdown on a television screen, which gives them essentially 20m to complete the service. I sat there for over an hour, watching the lady doing the work come in periodically to reset the countdown timer. Not a big deal to me, though it would have been nice to get some kind of 'hey, we're working on getting you wrapped up' or something - pretty surly bunch overall. Two people who had arrived after me were done and out of there before my car was done. Biggest problem I have with this place is when I got home and noticed the big puddle of oil under my car. I was sure they'd stripped the bolt in the pan, but I lucked out and they had just forgotten to tighten the bolt. I'll take that over the stripped bolt, but come on. You had one job. This business is under new management 8/31/09. I had been a repeat customer for 2 years but the staff is all new and very in experienced. I have a Honda Pilot that needs to have the rear differentail fluid to be changed at each oil change. The gentleman that checked me in said they do not do that, but there are huge signs all over the waiting room saying that they provide differential service and my reciept said that the fluid level was checked. Then the sticker on my window said they used 5W-30, but the Pilot needs 5W-20. I went inside and told the receptionist that I had a concern about which type of oil was used and that I needed to speak with the tech. The guy that changed my oil said he mis-typed the information and he did use the correct type. The interaction was fine and I didn't think much of it until my husband came home from his oil change and told me that when I walked out of the office the receptionist said "I like how she comes in and blames me for it". I tried not going to Denver to the dealer for convenience, that was my first mistake. they charged me twice of what the dealer charges for a simple oil change. Over 100.00! Then they told me that my transmission had a small leak, it's in paperwork! then they listed out their quotes for a 60k maintenance for my Toyota Highlander at over 500+. Took it to dealer immediately, there was NO LEAK. They've been my mechanics with various toyotas for over 20 years, so ya I believe them. The owner did apologize and state that he had a bad batch of employees that have since been let go. Grease Monkey did right to get this resolved, but my car will not be coming back, as I have found a service station I am more comfortable bringing my car to. ORIGINAL POST: Well things changed quickly. Few months ago went in for a total transmission flush and paid over $200 for it. Drove off thinking everything was ok. Today I was shown how they didn't do it. I need my transmission flushed again--less than six months later with minimal miles put on the car! My fluid is fried. This Grease Monkey started off great but looks like turnover has killed it. My vehicle will not be on their lot again. Ps: went to one of their competitors. Paid under $40 for the oil change and tire rotation that Grease Monkey charges $95 for. Sorry Grease Monkey but my car will never be serviced by you again. I came in at 11 am on a Wednesday morning for an oil change. It took about an hour and 40 minutes as they ran out of parts. They only had two workers. But they did reduce the payment $9 which was nice, still was $63. When he came and told me they ran out of oil filters I said ok, they said Goodyear will bring us one that fits. Goodyear is a 45 second walk away and it took 10 minutes for them to bring the part. Workers were semi sympathetic to time and customer frustration. read more

If I could I wouldn't give this place any stars. When my husband and I first moved to Castle Rock I was excited to be so close to a place to get my oil changed. We had just bought a new car and our first oil change was here. Not knowing any better I listened to their VERY convincing talk about the type of oil I needed and agreed to pay the almost 90bucks for my oil change. Well, the next oil change I took our new vehicle to the dealer and they told me I had been duped. My vehicle in fact did NOT need the most expensive oil change, but more the middle of the road. The guys at Grease Monkey told me they looked in the system, their books, and under the hood and yep that's what I needed. Well, I was well informed from the dealer and knew about what that car needed for future oil changes. Let's fast forward 6 months, I brought in our other older car which we have had since it had minimal miles and knew the car didn't need the most expensive oil change. I pull up, tell them what I want, the guy stumbles and told me mam your car needs full synthetic, can you please pop the hood just to make sure? I said it absolutely does not, I fell for your crap the first time and I am not going to again. Oh okay, so we will go ahead with the conventional. YES YOU WILL!
