This tavern does dish out some nice comfort food. There is less lighting to give it a more romantic candlelight vibe. I had their housemade edamame hummus and steak frites. Surprisingly got a popover for...dining in? Wow! I'n a sucker for peppercorn so the flavor of the steak clicked with me. I consider it a generous portion. The pita that came with the hummus is not the traditional kind, but welcome nevertheless. I did not stay for dessert or a drink, so this will be on my to-do list for next time! Must try, especially if you love the tavern feel/vibe!

Pretty place, more of a lounge type of atmosphere with the blue velvet couch and dark lighting. The interior put me in the mind of the old days of Las Vegas with Sammy David Jr and Frank Sinatra. But it is a combined restaurant and lounge. It's great for an intimate date night. Now, it can be great for brunch with the girls or a family spot if you sit outside. I got the Steak Frites, and the steak could have been more seasoned, but it was tender. Now, I could go back over and over for the onion soup. My Brother got the Prime Rib and eggs, and he gave it a thumbs up. The service was top-notch!

Everything was good until it wasn't. We enjoyed the cocktails, the appetizers, the service and then I was horrified and couldn't recover from the ladies room bathroom fan. How disgusting is that air and what else are they not cleaning... especially in the kitchen? Who is cleaning that bathroom every single day and ignoring that mess??

What a surprise to find this gem in Mill Valley! We had a group of seven and had been wandering around the Marin Headlands and wanted a place for dinner before we headed back to Sacramento. It was a Monday night, and we were seated immediately without reservation. The service team was welcoming to this random group of tourists, which I certainly appreciated! I started with a delicious barrel-aged Manhattan, one of my beverages of choice. We had a variety of dishes, but the standouts were the popovers, the French Onion Soup, the salmon bowl (so pretty!), and the fried chicken. But really, everything we ordered was good. Now I wish I lived closer because I would be a regular here!

I've never been ripped off this much on any delivery order. They sent less than half of what is shown on UberEats

Great food, fast service, loved our visit only down side felt shoved in the cold corner when someone got sat in our seat, despite us being on time. Made it a distracting meal with people in and out the kitchen and one the other side heading when it was meant to be a celebration

I came here after a long hike looking to have a nice meal and with a nice atmosphere and that I got! The ambiance was cozy and resembled what I imagine an elevated tavern to be. Our waiter was extremely kind and the exceptional service made the place feel luxurious. They were dressed nice and spoke to my family and I eloquently, therefore, I would recommend dressing up for this place! The food was amazing and they served us complementary pop overs which were better than any other complimentary bread I've ever been served. I highly recommend going here to enjoy their high quality food for any occasion. Spicy Lobster & Burrata Linguine 5/5 This is one of my favorite linguines I've ever had. The pasta wasn't too overwhelmingly dense and the sauce was flavorful yet light. The peppers added a subtle spice to the meal and complimented the creaminess of the sauce. The buratta was also very creamy and had a great texture. The quality of their lobster is what made me want to rate this a 5. Although it wasn't plentiful (as most other nicer restaurants aren't either), I could tell they care about the quality of their ingredients and want to serve the best pieces to their customers. I compare the pastas I have had after this to this dish because of how amazing it was. I would 100% get this again!

It's rare that a restaurant hits all the high points at once. Maybe it was helped by a rare warm evening but it was the most delightful dining experience we've had in a long time. The service was attentive and kind throughout the meal. The salads were exciting with lots of good surprises. They brought us gigantic popovers and there was no charge for them. The music was perfect. Kind of a European jazzy mellow playlist. And the delightful owner, Lara, visited each table to make sure all was right. It was just working for us on all levels. A unique experience and we will surely be back.

We joined friends for dinner here and enjoyed our super friendly server. We were excited to see popovers on the menu, but disappointed that they did not have any jam to serve with it. They said the chef would come up with an alternative for us since it was dinner service. Between all 5 of us (we all ordered popovers) they gave us ONE tiny portion of an apple compote--for all 5 of us? We literally had a tiny tiny portion to try out of that super small portion given to us. Sadly we couldn't put it on all of our popovers. This made me miss The Cliff House popovers so much (RIP Cliff House). We were also sorely disappointed with the fried chicken which we all read raving reviews about. Although a bit juicy the fried chicken literally tasted like it had no seasoning whatsoever. Just really bland fried chicken. We had no salt & pepper on the table either so I hated to ask our server for it since we tried to request jam already for our popovers. I guess that is what the sauces on the side were for? I didn't like any of them. I thought good fried chicken would be seasoned so it would be good enough to eat on its own. Have you ever been to Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco? Now their fried chicken blows Gravity's out of the water. Dessert was definitely the saving grace to our meal. I would come back, but definitely to try other things on their menu.

Surf and Turf

Booked through Yelp and confirmed yet somehow they didn't have our names at the door. Got seated anyway. Got served complimentary popovers (giant, puffy, and served with soft herbed butter.) I dk if everybody gets these or if they were trying to make it up for the confusion at the door. The motivation for trying them out was, they were part of Mill Valley Restaurant Rally, promoted in Marin Magazine. This downtown MV "rally" featured prix fixe specials at 7 downtown MV restaurants. The menu at this one sounded appealing. But after being seated, we were given regular menus and no mention of price fixe. We had to ask! Then our waiter brought the special menu, which I ordered from. The hubs ordered from the main menu. For $55 I got: Surf and Turf c Maine lobster, steak c bearnaise sauce, grilled asparagus. Delicious! Salad: mesclun, dill, corn, grape tomatoes, lots of purple onion. Pretty but underdressed and too much onion. Dessert: flourless chocolate cake, a very dense brownie-ish square that I couldn't tolerate, aside from the fruit sauce and microscoop of ice cream. The hub: ordered the ceviche appetizer and linguini with lobster and burrata. I found the chips accompanying the ceviche too greasy. He liked both dishes. Ambience: Pleasant, visually dark and pub like but with some tables on an open patio and others in a verandah looking out. Music - maybe 70s? Some that we heard were Steely Dan Ambrosia (biggest part of me) Al Green Amy Winehouse Los Yesterdays (Give me one more chance) Little River Band (Reminiscing) How Long (Ace) Fleetwood Mac (Gypsy) Overall I'd give this place a 4 and would go back for a Surf and Turf a la carte, maybe with apps and dessert from the main menu.

Here's what arrived. Raw and inedible and enough to make anyone a vegetarian.

Ordered hamburger and prime rib sandwich. The hamburger was delicious - the prime rib sandwich was sad - Little chunks of overcooked meat on big pieces of bread. Returned and the restaurant graciously took it off our bill. The margaritas were fantastic!

French fries, tuna tartare, & bomb ass Brussels sprouts!
Sara B.

The Brussels Sprouts!!!!! I cannot emphasize how AMAZING they are! This place roasts them with a beautiful black char and the most delicious, sweet and tangy balsamic vinegar sauce your taste buds will ever experience. They are that good. If you come here for only one thing, you'd be a fool not to order the Brussels sprouts - they are hands down the best thing on the menu. We also ordered the French fries, which are triple-fried are were very tasty! They didn't have an overly crisp texture which one might assume from being triple-fried, they had a perfect amount of crisp on the outside with pillowy fluff potato goodness on the inside. The only item we weren't fans of is the tuna tartare, as it had a funky, fish-gone-bad taste and unfortunately we had to send it back. However, the service was impeccable and they were very gracious and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place just for the mind blowing Brussels sprouts, and also try their local beers crafted at the Beach Chalet Brewery in San Francisco- they are delicious!

The signature drink which is called, "I'll have what she's having." Delicious!

Matt had been talking about Brazilian steakhouse every time he saw something that reminded him remotely of Fogo de Chao, so I figured this opportunity might be of interest to him. Come to find out that the day after I make the reservation he asks if I'd be willing to go a Brazilian steakhouse for the long weekend, so I got to surprise him with the fact that I already had a reservation. I'm not the biggest fan of Fogo de Chao based on my prior experiences there. I do believe that I have been to a Show de Carnes location before and had another great experience, but also Show de Carnes's Memorial Day promotion was slightly better than Fogo's and I much preferred that their location was outside of the city even if on the other side of the bridge. I did have to call the morning of to delay our reservation slightly, but it was taken care of for us without hassle. We even got seated closer to the original reservation time when we ended up running early. There isn't much space to wait in the front lobby area especially on a packed night, but everything looks very upscale from the wine bottles on the wall to the crystals above the self-serve side buffet. As far as mandatory meats, I have a couple of personal rules when it comes to Brazilian steakhouse, including go light on the sides and only go for the beef. Picanha is my favorite, extra rare too, so I made myself a whole pincanha meat salad while probably giving the guy cutting the meat a good scare. The grilled pineapple is also a must, followed by the cheese and honey. Matt got a lot more variety but it takes a while for the guys to come around with meat that has already been sliced up some so I can get to the parts that I like. We got a papaya cream and passion fruit mousse for dessert, which we probably really didn't need but enjoyed thoroughly as we are both dessert people. As it was a busy night, it was not too easy to flag a server down. I saw picanhas skip our table left and right so I'm not sure there's an established route for them to bring the meat around. The staff did seem to work together with great teamwork, and someone always stopped by to make sure we had more water and our choice of sides. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone that is a protein or all you can eat fan. The regular price per person is definitely steep in my humble opinion, but if you can catch a promo it'll be a great time. Also, don't choose between still or sparkling, ask for tap. I will not be getting got again next time.

We finally made it to RH Rooftop Restaurant in Corte Madera, and it lived up to every expectation…read more From the photos I'd seen and my previous dining experience at the Yountville location, I had a pretty clear idea of what to expect. Curated furniture are displayed on the first and second floors. The third floor is where the magic happens, with its iconic chandeliers, elegant fountain, and olive trees creating a stunning ambiance. No matter where you're seated, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the Corte Madera outdoor mall and surrounding hills. The warm welcome at check-in set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. We were seated inside, and the views didn't disappoint. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I ordered a glass of white wine while my partner enjoyed a mimosa. The restaurant doesn't offer a full cocktail bar, but that wasn't an issue for us. The menu offers a great selection, but I already knew what I wanted after browsing it before our reservation. I ordered the whole grilled branzino with grilled broccolini, and my partner chose the lobster roll. Both dishes were beautifully presented. My deboned branzino was cooked perfectly--moist and flaky with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. The seasoning was simple, just the way I like it, allowing the flavors of the extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon to shine. The broccolini was perfectly cooked with a bright citrus finish. Even my partner, who isn't usually a seafood fan, really enjoyed both the fish and the broccolini. The fish was incredibly fresh with no fishy aroma, and the broccolini had the perfect al dente texture. My partner's lobster roll was equally impressive. The lobster was sweet, tender, and generously portioned, served on perfectly toasted brioche that complemented the filling without overpowering it. The portion sizes were just right. We didn't need a to-go box and we left feeling completely satisfied without feeling overly full. Although we skipped dessert, we were celebrating a milestone, and our thoughtful waiter surprised us with a warm chocolate chip cookie. It was absolutely delicious--fresh from the oven with melted, gooey chocolate in every bite. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful meal. Service throughout our visit was prompt and friendly, and every staff member we encountered was welcoming. The restaurant was well maintained, including the restrooms, which were clean and well attended. Overall, RH Rooftop Restaurant in Corte Madera delivered an exceptional first experience. Between the beautiful setting, delicious food, attentive service, and breathtaking views, it's a place we'll definitely return to.
