My comfort food is the fusilli alla vodkathat paired with the garlic bread and chopped salad makes for the ultimate comfort meal. The taste is off the charts, and I will keep coming back. read more

Grassa - fusilli alla vodka - Salad Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

What a surprise when we stumbled upon this hand crafted pasta restaurant. You ordered at the counter, get your drinks and then find a seat, and the server will bring you the food when it is ready. I must say we found their pasta to be better than all the pastas we have bought from the farmers markets (everywhere we have gone from east coast to west coast). It is also inexpensive and I think the Grassa concept works because this is like their third or fourth stores. Their draft beer is cold and has a good taste, just right for a hot summery day. The place is packed depending on times of day and it can be noisy at times. Parking can be a challenge and it is water front rate. I saw quite a few take out orders. The restaurant is extremely busy after any kind of public events held on the water front. Enjoy ... read more

We didn't get to even order food because the guy at the register was flirting with two girls and no one else came up to take our order. This is horse shit. Teach your stuff to not flirt, lost business. read more

I'm kind of surprised there are not more reviews. It's always fairly slammed when I go by here. We came in about 11:45 for a pre-Mothers Day lunch. It was actually pretty dead when we came in but that certainly wasn't the case by the time we left. Wife hd the spaghetti al pesto, #1 son and I had the ravioli with spring peas and #2 son had the ravioli with marina sauce. Everyone liked what they ordered and finished their lunches except for my wife. She's just a little thing so she took the rest and Mom-tagged it for later. This place is the cheapest option for house-made pasta that I know of. We also got some garlic bread. It was fine but like most garlic bread, if you don't eat it within about 30 minutes it turns into a nicely scented brick. As for the atmosphere, it's bright, loud and pretty clean. There are tables both large and small, several booths and some outdoor seating. I saw a few things on their reader board that weren't on the website. There were some side dishes that I hope to try in the future. So 4 entrees, 2 sides of garlic bread cost about 80 so altogether about a hundred with tip. 25 bucks a head for dinner at the waterfront is a pretty good deal. read more

Misleading time expectations and unfriendly service (Daryn). Tipped in advance. Please consider treating customers better. This restaurant is not the only option. read more

This place advertises itself as a high end pasta place with small portions. We got here, you order and pay at the counter then go to your table with a number. They don't give you water for the table, and if you ask for your own there's no ice In it. The pasta was very mid... and the calamari was mostly fried vegetables. Would have rather saved my $80 and made something better at home. Disappointed. read more

LOVE it here! Ordered the grilled mustard greens, caesar salad and fritto misito to start out. Best calamari dish I've had anywhere. Entrees we had were the squid ink chitarra and the rigatoni. Both were flavorful and great meals to have on a rainy afternoon. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Wow. We ordered takeout from Grassa and it was easily the best meal we've had in our three years in Vancouver. The pesto pasta, mushroom Alfredo, meatballs and squash fritters were all delicious. Can't wait to actually eat here. read more

Possibly the worst food I've had in a long time. Thoroughly disappointing....calamari was chewy, pasta too Al dente, sauce flavorless, and to top it off, you get wine served in a juice glass. Tables were not cleaned and sanitized, and staff saw me looking for a towel and ignored me. Won't be back read more

Always friendly service when we have come here! The food is excellent just like the Portland restaurant locations. Also they have a cool indoor space, sometimes heated outdoor dining and what's nice is it's on the Vancouver waterfront! read more

Grassa is always a favorite. The pork belly Mac and cheese is our favorite. Their meatballs are also super yummy as a side. The serving sizes are generous and you won't leave hungry. read more

Love Grassa. Fresh pasta. FRESH sauces. DELICIOUS. I went with my girlfriend and ordered 3 pastas to share just so we could try them all lol

Good variety of pasta that so far has been all great to my friends and I! They have a unique service setup where you order at the front, and then seat yourself and they bring your food to you. They do have a good amount of drink options as well (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). I really enjoy the Pork-belly Mac N Cheese and you gotta get a garlic bread!! read more

Visiting from another state and found this place by a happy accident. The atmosphere is warm, lively and inviting. The staff are incredible and the FOOD IS DELICIOUS! I was so happy with my dinner, the pasta was cooked to a perfect aldente and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. read more

The fusilli alla vodka is my favorite. I've had other pastas and they're ok so I keep going back to the fusilli. The Caesar is really good too! But those are pretty much the only things I'll get there. Everything else is kinda so-so. read more

Wish I'd taken my family to the food court Sbarro. Then atleast I would have expected to stand in line to order less than mediocre Italian.

Delicious and fresh tasting pasta. Worth it when you're willing to spend a little $ to get solidly good pasta dishes.

The food wasn't to wait for, tho we didn't have to wait at all, and no wonder. The athletic of the restaurant was not all bad, quite the vibe tbh my G. I was disappointed in the establishments music choice. Heavy rock? Indian rap? Definitely not what I thought would suite an Italian theme. Would not come again unless it is accompanied with force. :| Great service tho. read more

Cafeteria style. Stand on line to order, find a seat, get your own water, hate it! Meals for lunch are 15 bucks per dish. Food was pretty good. I had a fat spaghetti(hate it) with egg and pancetta. Was full for almost 8 hours. No one comes around to ask if anything is needed(like pepper or Parmesan). Silverware on the table. read more

I get that it's the second day, really, I do. I was really excited to eat here as I've been to at least two different grassa locations and love the place. I waited almost an hour after being told about 20 minutes, got home to find what I thought was maybe food somebody ate part of. Called to find out how many raviolis come with it, and it's 8, I got 7, and I'd be disappointed either way for the price. Food is lukewarm and I live 5 minutes away. Incredibly disappointed. read more

I have been to Grassa in Portland a couple of times and always liked it. I was so excited to see a great Portland restaurant make its was across the river! Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with our food. Very, VERY greasy! Everything was drenched in oil. I got the cacio e Pepe and could only stomach a few bites because there was so much oil and I couldn't even taste pepper in it. The fried brussel sprouts were pretty good but I wouldn't go there just for that. read more

Tried this place last night. Everything was great BUT the spaghetti was a bit too Al dente. If it had been cooked another 30-45 seconds, it would have been great. I'd like to try it again, but an a bit leery to. read more

Service was weird, you don't know if you need to be seated or they seat you. Clean and beautiful place, but you have to find your own seating and sometimes there's no open tables and you have to wait like a creep to find an opening. Food was not it! No flavor on the pasta whatsoever read more

Had the roasted beets. They were delicious but needed a little salt. They came with a mouthwatering cheese and mini slices of orange. The pasta I ordered was rigatoni that came with a tomato vodka sausage sauce. The sauce was too salty, the sausage should have been advertised as spicy (not a fan) and the pasta hadn't been cooked long enough. I enjoy al dente pasta but this was not al dente. Ambience... Modern industrial. Very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. This is not a place I'll go to again. Disappointed. read more

When we arrived we were greeted by an unfriendly middle aged woman wwho seemingly cared less about our presence. I greeted her with happy holidays and without any emotion she asked what did we want to order. It's also ironic that we had to order at the counter and when I paid using a credit card she expected a tip prior to receiving and ordering our food, keep in mind you also have to place your order at the counter and get your own water. Really, tipping before Service and prior to tasting your food, that's crazy. Food was just ok however my pasta was gummy and only two very small pieces of meat. Poor service and food! read more

Amazing food. Great service. I much prefer this location over the Portland one!!! Better food choices, quality and atmosphere.

Daryn the server was extraordinarily rude upon entering the building, she wouldn't allow me to order despite it being 10 minutes to close. She told me that kitchen closes earlier than the time listed both online and on the front of the store. Once she saw me pull my cellphone out to write a review she begin to tell me "oh actually you can order". Extremely unprofessional and I expected better from such a great restaurant. Won't be returning again. read more

For being known for "handcrafted pasta" this place was a huge disappointment. All of our pasta (with the exception of kids Mac n cheese) was undercooked. The carbonara portion was small and had zero flavor (although the pork belly was good). Garlic bread was mediocre. Due to their pay before you sit setup, it was very hard to get drink refills (which you have to bring to the front and ask for yourself) because of the terrible bottle necking from people trying to order and blocking all of the walkways. It's pretty bad when an experience at Olive Garden or Old Spaghetti Factory would be more enjoyable than this. read more

Food is excellent, fresh and different. One register is open to take orders, but food comes out pretty quickly. Only down side, the music they play is TOO LOUD and doesn't fit the atmosphere. Loud modern doesn't allow for conversation----just a turn off. read more

I was so excited when I found out Grassa was opening a Vancouver location!!! Same amazing flavor in half the distance!! Best bang for your buck if you're a pasta fanatic!! :) read more

Fantastic food. So glad they're finally in Vancouver! We've been a few times now and tried the salads, six different pastas, meatballs, wines, Negroni, etc. love everything about them, with the exception of the music that is blasting in the restaurant. It feels very Beavis and Butthead-esque. It's quite off putting actually. It becomes moreso with each visit. With a brand new restaurant and the only critique that is completely changeable, this place is hitting it out of the park. Looking forward to visiting again and hoping that different music will be playing. read more

If I could rate a 0 I would. My friends told me it wasn't good, but I like pasta. Tried it for take out unfortunately I couldn't send it back. I put my own canned pasta sauce on it to make it edible. The texture of the noodles was spot on, but 0 flavor. If I'm eating carbs I want them good! Worst food for way too much money. Bland bland bland. Go to noodles and company if you want pasta. Anywhere but here, even Olive Garden has better flavor. Save your money. read more

A casual place, suitable for friends getting together and kids. Service is acceptable. Plenty of parking all around for $2 per hour.

Love this place!! Great first experience, the food was so good !! fusilli alla vodka was so flavorful and fresh ! Enjoyed the meat balls , they were very juicy, and that's a lot for me to say cause I love Michael Jordan's meat balls , but they came pretty close . Wish there was more cheese on them but that's a minor compared to how good they were . The service is awesome . And they have a great drink selection . All the dishes we ordered were bomb ! Will be coming back ! read more

The food here is always great. Some of the best pasta I've had. The only thing that's underwhelming is the service. Usually it's good enough, but this time was frustrating. We walked in, ordered to go from the counter, got settled and sat for probably 50-55 min, watching several people who ordered after us receive, and finish, their food. Gave it a good while, sitting in plain sight of the servers (who were just chilling, talking, on their phones), but I finally decided to ask about our order. To my confusion, I saw that It had been ready, sitting in the cold, for God knows how long and they just never told us. By the time we got to our food, it was lukewarm. It's hard, cause we love this place. Some of our favorite food in town bar none, but this experience just represents the tone of how they treat customers, which is a hard juxtaposition to reconcile. read more

Get the Carbonara and garlic bread you won't regret it! Easily some of the best pasta I have had; texture was perfection and it was so delicious. this is a great place to go with a group since this is a casual environments. The person who took your order at the counter was very friendly and two of the food runners were helpful as well; 1 was not very friendly unfortunately. We tried about every pasta on the menu and they were all pretty great! Can't wait to go back :) read more

Definitely first and last time. Everything was oily and bland. Hard pass. Not sure why, but I had higher hopes for this place.

Best pasta every my fav is the pork belly Mac and cheese it is so good and it has good drinks there to

Great location and ambience. We ordered a couple of pastas, some garlic bread and a Caesar salad. The pastas were really good, the garlic bread average and overpriced. This brings me to the Caesar salad....this had waaay too much cheese but that wasn't the end of it..it was the food poisoning I got as a result of it. Pretty sure got it here as hadn't eaten anywhere else the whole day before and after eating here. Ridiculous that this place prices premium and clearly is not maintaining food hygiene standards!!! read more
