We were excited to see a new restaurant that features Pasta(other than our two national chain Italian style restaurants) and had some pretty high expectations. Clearly pasta is not rocket science but what we were served tonight was really average at best. We ordered the Pesto Spaghetti and the Vodka Fusilli with Sausage. In a nutshell, the portions were generous but, the pasta was incredibly undercooked. I know Al Dente and this was at least two or three minutes from Al Dente for both the Spaghetti and the Fusilli. Also, the Vodka sauce was really spicy which was OK but I would guess that some vancouverites would deem it at a ghost pepper to habanero level so I would recommend having your chefs tone it down a bit because I am sure people will complain. Other than the underdone noodles in both dishes, there was way too much sauce on the Pesto pasta. The noodles were really swimming in sauce and it was so over sauced that it became up appetizing. Other observations, no options to add chicken or other meats other than meatballs to a dish(unless they happened to pull a typical Portland move and managed to sell out of something really basic, just like what happened with the garlic bread--yes the sold out of garlic bread on a Friday night) I had high hopes and will give them another try in a few months read more

We tried Grassa for the first time and it was definitely not what I expected it to be. It's a fun, casual place where you order and pay first, then you get your food with the number. However, when you get your food, it really felt like you were in a fancy restaurant. We got three different types of pasta to try out (don't get 3, one is PLENTY). We tried the cabornara, mushroom Alfredo, and the spaghetti with olive oil (I cannot remember the name). We also got an order of meatballs which were fresh topped with Parmesan cheese, and as well as they garlic bread. The service was fast and we got our food in about 10-15 minutes. We also loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, it was perfect for a chill date night. Will be back! read more

Absolutely loved the Cesar salad (minus anchovies). The cheesy garlic bread had the perfect bite. The carbonara looks better then it tasted. Lacked basic seasoning. The Cesar truly was the star. The service was alright. Didn't feel welcoming. read more

Food: 4/5 Drinks: overpriced/lack quality (2.5/5) Atmosphere: 2/5 No sit down service. You walk in and immediately have to order food/drinks. Made the process overwhelming, considering it was our first time. Asked if they had "white sauce" pasta options, was told no, and then my husband ended up receiving one with white sauce. Played very upbeat/EDM/k-pop hits that did not fit the vibe you would expect from an Italian restaurant. WAY OVERPRICED with little-to-no service and $10/per drink. $70 bucks for two pastas & drinks with no leftovers. Won't be back. There are better places to visit on the waterfront. #GrassaNoodles&Co read more

Watch out Vancouver... you finally have a place with real, handmade pasta, the world's most SUBLIME brussels sprouts and, unlike the despicable, shall-remain-nameless, inauthentic crap across the street, REAL plant life inside the restaurant and real plants in the living walls which are NOT made of plastic. My spaghetti-al-pesto was fresh and perfect and enough to feed a small army but I managed to inhale it regardless. read more

Found Grasa on a rainy day, had their pasta, and it instantly became my favorite spot.

Delicious fresh pasta and the service was so nice. They gave our kids some dough to play with and they were so excited! 10/10

I was really happy to learn that Grassa opened a location at the Vancouver Waterfront, as I've enjoyed eating at their Portland locations. I went with a couple of friends and we ate on the patio to soak up the last bits of summer. All of us were very pleased with our choices, from the Caesar Salad to the Brussels Sprouts to the Cherry Tomato Pomodoro and the Pesto. Everything was prepared and presented very nicely. The employees were cheerful, welcoming, and helpful-willing to make recommendations for drinks and menu items. I didn't notice whether they have desserts so I'll definitely have to go back! read more

We love Grassa and have since they first opened in Portland. Our last visit to the Vancouver location was a great time. We love the atmosphere and the service was top notch. Always friendly and accommodating. We had the Pork belly Mac n Cheese and the Carbonara. Both were fresh and fulfilling. I know this sounds like they asked me to write this but I promise we really enjoyed it. read more

Two of out three of us were disappointed with our meals tonight. My pasta water definitely wasn't salted at all and really lacked flavor (POMODORO). My husbands noodles weren't cooked. This wasn't Al dente, they just weren't done! (CARBONARA). I find that totally unacceptable for a pasta restaurant. Our daughter enjoyed her meal though, and I agree it was good(RIGATONI). The meatballs and bread were also good. We really hope our bad meals are just the kitchen staff finding it's footing since they just opened. We'll try again in 6-8 weeks. read more

Love love love!!! Got delivery on a cold, dark evening. Delicious!!!! Love the Caesar: bright, fresh, delicate lemon, with anchovies. Seafood pasta: impressed how delicious it was even delivered. Incredible eats in Vancouver. read more

Daphnis was incredibly wonderful. He was so helpful and showed us the menu as we had never been here before. The pasta was incredible and he checked in on us to make sure it was good and engaged us in conversation. The pasta is so authentic and real. Packed with flavor. The setting is fun and classy. FINALLY a good restaurant on the waterfront. Dosalas and Wildfin were go to's because they were the only waterfront restaurants, but finally a good one came in. Such a great experience with such good food. Daphnis is a wonderful server and I highly recommend people request him when coming to this restaurant. read more

We've been ordering delivery from Grassa for 2 years now and the food has always been amazing. We finally went in to eat last night and the entire place was so clean, open and bright. I love the fast casual, order at the register and they bring out the food model they have. Makes it so quick and easy when coming in. The menu is smaller, but I've had almost everything on it and it is always cooked perfectly! My current obsession is the potato gnocchi dish. I've had it at least 5 times and it has tasted amazing every single time. The garlic bread is always hot and fresh. All of their pastas always taste perfect. The employees were also super nice and helpful! My son spilled an entire glass of water and they were quick to get a towel to help us clean it up when they saw us using napkins. Someone was constantly doing rounds in the tables to make sure things were wiped up and neat. It was such a nice atmosphere, with amazing food. read more

I really wanted to like Grassa but I'm afraid this was our first and last try. Everything was so bland. The best thing we had were the corn ribs but both pasta dishes were completely void of flavor. The restaurant is nice and beautifully decorated but honestly what is the point if the food isn't up to par. read more

Super tasty food, quick service and great staff. I enjoyed the rigatoni! I though the prices were pretty fair for handmade pasta! read more

I had the meatball side and potato gnocchi both made from scratch, and they were to die for! Takes a little while to get your food but that's due to its homemade nature so no complaints there. PS - the homemade lemonade is to die for!! 10/10 recommend Grassa read more

I rarely review. However, food was fabulous and fresh and reasonable price. I had beets and fusilli pasta. OMG. The best

First time coming. We've walked by many times over the summer but never inclined to want to wait in line. Finally, went Friday night after some wine tasting. Service was fine, you order at the counter and they bring it to your table but food was not so great. I had much higher expectations. We ordered The Brussel sprouts to share and found them over sauced and mustardy. I normally love Brussel sprouts no matter how they're cooked but these weren't very good. We both had the paperdalle pasta. It was so disappointing it had clearly sat under the heat lamps so long that each of us could put a fork in the middle and hold up the entire plate of pasta. We had to cut with a knife to eat it. They weren't even that busy so I have no idea why it obviously sat for so long. Very disappointing. read more

Great fresh pasta. Must stop when ever we are in the area. Also, great location on the waterfront

The food is not very good, very bland. bland. One dish was over cooked and dry. And another was cold. Waited along time for them to try to fix it and they forgot to even fix the cold food, so we just left. I never yelp but this experience was so bad overall that I had to write this. Don't waste your money or time. Never been so dissatisfied in my 40 years of life eating at a place. Doesn't even worth a 1 star. read more

Casual but great food. Order at the counter and grab a seat. Located in the vancouver waterfront. Bonus no reservations required if you're feeling spontaneous. read more

Food is good, service was really good but the death metal playing is really odd and outright annoying.

The flavors in all the dishes were really good. I need to go again so I can give a better review. Our salad got mixed up and sat for awhile before we got it. Our food was cold - not warm cold- but they did remake it. We received our garlic bread way before the meal came. But once it was corrected it was really good. They are newly open so I'm sure it will get better. The staff was very nice however. read more

Fantastic food. Nothing like this around. Good service. Try the garlic bread and make sure the get a side of meatballs.

The Baked Ochi de Luppo was so delicious! I recommend it. The service was quick and seating was easy for us since we got there by 6 on a Friday. read more

I wanted to like this place, and maybe another pasta dish would have been a better choice, but the Pasta Alla Chitarra was super disappointing. The sauce was so oily that I literally felt gross eating it. We asked them if that was the standard and they said it was, but I see at least one other review in here talking about how oily the dish was, so I'm not so sure. My daughter had the macaroni and cheese which she wouldn't take more than a few bites of. I tried it and it was pretty bland. The location itself is nice, right at the waterfront. The inside of the place looks nice as well. Hopefully will try again with better results. read more

I heard alot about Grassa and was excited to try it recently. The staff was friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed the garlic bread and the brussel sprouts. I had trouble finding an entree as the ones I was intersted in I was all had red pepper flakes which I don't enjoy. I ordered the spagehtti and meat balls. The pasta and sauce were delicious but the meat balls had so much red pepper in them (which I didn't see on the menu) that I couldn't taste the other seasonings and they were too spicy so I didn't eat them. read more

I live nearby and will often get dinner from here out of convenience (this place is fast casual) and because they offer gluten free pasta. The past four times I've ordered food from here it's arrived cold. The meatballs aren't gluten free and management doesn't allow patrons to substitute for other proteins. I was given the option to withhold the meatballs and pay an additional $5 for pancetta, pork belly, or a fried egg. Given the high price point there are so many better options for pasta in Vancouver. I highly recommend La Bottega in Uptown. Prices are comparable and the food is significantly better. read more

It's pretty overpriced for what it is. I got a dish that tasted like baked ziti, with regular tasting noodles and jarred sauce. It was just "fine". My daughter got the Mac and cheese, which was pretty tasty, and my husband got the dish with vodka sauce and really enjoyed it. The garlic bread was pretty good, too. We probably won't be back simply because the price doesn't really match the food. read more

Possibly one of the worst dining experiences. Food was spicy and lacked flavor. Meatballs were obviously frozen and thawed lacked texture and flavor. Pork belly Mac and Cheese, great idea horrible execution. Gal that took our order seemed uninterested in answering questions as it was our first (and last) time there. read more

I've had Grassa in other locations as well. Pork belly Mac is an okay dish. Nothing super spectacular, exactly like how you would think it would taste. Outdoor seating is quite nice on a summer day read more

Hold up!!!! When I tell ya'll this SMACKED. Wow... First of all, the main pasta dish was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. As someone who eats a looot of pasta, this is top tier. Now -- the BRUSSEL SPROUTS. No words. If and when you come here, you must order the brussel sprouts!!! I can't even explain the flavor that is packed into it, but it is so amazing!!! I'll go here just for the brussel sprouts... It's that good. 10/10!!!! read more

Cute restaurant, the place was very clean and well organized. I had the rigatoni with an Italian margarita and my boyfriend had the pork belly Mac and cheese with garlic bread everything tasted so good, I would have to say the garlic bread was on the tough side. Friendly staff and the wait was minimal. It is on the spendy side but worth it! read more

While this food was nearly a religious experience, I will leave a four star review simply on atmosphere. This may be a personal perspective so totally subjective but the loud, hip hop music seemed more suited to a club experience than the beauty and taste of this spot. Wall to wall windows on the Vancouver waterfront development allows for light and people watching as they walk through the area. There is outdoor seating which I can imagine will be booked every second in the warmer months. The industrial, concise decor with modern lines and indoor greenery serves as a relaxing backdrop. The pasta is nothing I have experienced and I have traveled the world. The flavors and presentation are divine. The spring pea ravioli topped with pea greens and the slightest bit of mint leaves with asparagus and pea and the thinnest pancetta leave the mouth begging for more. The Fusilli Alla Vodka (spicy) was not only magnificent but truly something to encounter on a soul level. Highly recommend. The garlic bread to accompany the meal would have been fine to have higher garlic content but texture was delightful. There is a bit of a rushed feel due to counter service rather than full service. I didn't feel like I could sit and relax, more of a dine and get the hell out we have guests waiting to devour our pasta kind of feel. I might get to go and make a fire at home next time because this meal is definitely foreplay worthy. read more

There's so much to love about this place! Great an unfussy atmosphere, friendly and quick service and most of all amazing and well priced pasta. My husband and i usually order a salad, some bread and two pastas to share and theres usually leftovers that get fought over the nest day. The Caesar salad is delish, the fusili is great, I also really love the carbonara and the cacio e pepe. All in all a great addition to the waterfront.
