I ordered the scallop dish, it came with 3 quarter size scallops and they were chared in the edges. The accompanying vegetables/salad was over cooked and had also chared flavor. The scallop was accompanied by two small pieces of fatty pork belly. I do not understand why the chef would chose fatty pork belly to accompany this dish, when someone orders sea food, you might consider that they are trying to avoid meat. My friend ordered the bass, he ended up with diarrhea. We concluded we could have saved alot of money and had a better meal at a pizza joint. read more

I recently dined at Grappa and it was my third time at the restaurant. I had heard mixed reviews about the restaurant each time and I was unsure about going back. The atmosphere was the only reason this restaurant gets two stars. The setting and view is phenomenal. I will get right to the point on the bad review. This is most mediocre "upscale/nice" restaurant of all time. We got the bruschetta for an appetizer (35 minute wait) and it was average. We ordered the Oso Bucco and Striped Sea Bass and both were so mediocre it hurt. We paid $125 between just the two entrees to have a flavor mix and ingredient mix that I could have made while drunk off wine. I think the staff is ok, the wait time for food and drinks to arrive is bad, and the food is worse. Also - Don't order a cocktail. You'll get a 1 oz liquid poured into what is a glorified shot glass full to the brim with ice. If you think I'm joking, go there and order an old fashioned. Good luck trying to take more than 3 small sips out of that. This place is a pass 10/10 times, spend your time at a sushi restaurant or other spot on Main Street read more

Ambience- magical. 3 tier outdoor patio with beautiful bistro lights. Perfect for an evening date night. Food- incredible, though we did a dinner crawl and we're only here for appetizers. The lobster ravioli was to die for. They didn't have the fondue anymore, so that was a bummer but nbd. Service- Service was slow though, and not exactly the most welcoming. Then the variety of textures in the Cesar salad (which was brought out first) left me perfectly satisfied. But the grand finale was... The Roasted Game Hen Marsala pasta. I LOVED it. The meat was tender and flavorful, the pasta was delicious, and the roasted Brussels sprouts added a nice touch. We have been coming to Grappa for many years. The restaurant ambiance is amazing. The service was good. However, the food this time was absolutely terrible. I had the lamb chops. Very expensive ($68) and you would expect a good cut of meat. The worst lamb I have ever eaten. Very fatty and very tough as well. Poorly cooked haricot verts as a side. My wife had the osso buco ($70). There was no flavor with stringy, fatty, tough meat. The sliced fried ham on the plate was like shoe leather. We shared the caesar "salad". It's a couple of romaine lettuce lettuce stalks that were not chopped up. Then a scant amount of dressing drizzled on them. We love Caesar salads. Hated this one. Only bright spots we enjoyed were the mushroom soup (which is always good but a much smaller portion now) and the calamari was delicious. If we ever come back, it would be to have a glass of wine and an appetizer. Then go to a restaurant that is serving good food. read more

While walking in and around the restaurant, you can't help but appreciate how beautiful the place is. However, the beauty of the place is not what I was here for. The rosemary bread and creamy balsamic was different but I really enjoyed it. For being an Italian restaurant, I'm surprised they didn't have a bigger pasta menu. To share we had a Caesar salad which was really good regardless of the creepy anchovy's on the side of the plate. For dinner we all shared the Eggplant Parmesan which was kind of tasteless. The lamb chops were more well done than medium. Next we had the Spaghetti Arrabbiata, the meat balls were tasty and had a nice spice to them. The pasta itself tasted like chef boyardee canned noodles which was very disappointing considering the place is $30. The star of the night was the Pistachio Affogato. Pistachio ice cream with espresso poured on it. This was amazing. I couldn't get enough of it. Dessert made up for the lack of taste in the food. read more

Also, if you want guests to order before 9pm it would be advantageous of you to not allow for 8:45pm reservation time. So disappointed by this place. read more

In town for my wife's birthday. We went to Grappa on a Friday night. Very friendly staff and good ambience. Now the real problem comes when you have to start eating the food. I have never been to a worse Italian restaurant in my life. 3.7 rating is wayyyy too high. Calamari was extremely chewy and i ate one piece and that was it. My dog probably would have done the same. I don't even know what to say about the bruschetta. But it was also terrible. I didn't want to spend 60 dollars on another horrible dish so I got the Cesar salad for dinner and what do ya know. Another horrible dish. But at least it was only a 17 dollars Cesar. I also asked for chicken on it and they said we only have stuffed chicken. All in all, This place needs to go or get a new menu and chef. Avoid this place unless you just love over paying for terrible food. read more
