Came in on a Friday evening and sat at a high-top by the bar. We started with the pita and hummus, and the bread and butter with a side of sea salt. Honestly, I could've skipped the hummus, but the bread and butter was excellent perfectly toasted, soft butter, with a side of sea salt. For entrées, we ordered the vodka pasta and the spicy pasta. The vodka pasta is a must-order super flavorful and definitely the standout. The spicy pasta had a slight Cajun kick, which was good, but I personally preferred the vodka. For drinks, the pineapple margarita was really good. We ended with dessert: the Devil's Advocate flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and a strawberry shortcake both were delicious and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, it was a great experience. The entire staff was extremely friendly even the busser and food runner checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Despite the restaurant being busy and fully packed, the service never slipped. Will definitely be back.
Had such a great time at Granville! It was my first time visiting I came for dinner and sat at the bar. My friend and I were really well taken care of; the bartenders were super friendly, took our order promptly, and checked in on us throughout the night. I ordered the pork chop, which was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The mashed potatoes were nice and creamy, and the spinach had an amazing lemon and garlic flavor so good. The ambiance is also really nice, with low lighting that makes it perfect for any occasion, plus TVs if you want to catch a game.
This is really a 3.5. Great spot for a nice lunch or dinner! I've been to a few locations and the ambiance at this location is really lovely, especially on the rooftop. The food is decent, maybe a little overpriced for what it is and given all of the fast casual places around here, but it would be good for a business or nicer lunch on a weekday or a date night. My favorite is the Santa Barbara chicken sandwich. The service is friendly and professional, but is pretty slow. I've probably been here 25+ times over the years and always had to wait at every stage of the process. Last time I went, we waited about 10 minutes just for someone to approach us and offer us water. Maybe just chronically understaffed? Important to note: this location does not take reservations and it gets pretty crowded on the weekends for brunch/lunch, so plan accordingly :)
I came here with six of my cousins for a "Mom's dinner," so we were a party of seven. One of them suggested Granville, and it's definitely a spot you can't miss--it's on a corner with plenty of street parking, plus a lot behind the restaurant. We went on a Saturday night, so we expected a wait and ended up waiting just over an hour. Once seated, our drinks arrived quickly. I wasn't drinking alcohol but ordered a mocktail called Elixir (granny smith apple, cucumber, thyme and coriander shrub, lemon juice). It was not only beautifully presented but also delicious! The vibe inside is amazing. Even though it was packed, it wasn't overly loud, so we could easily chat at our table. Our server, Jose S., was fantastic--helpful with recommendations, attentive without being rushed, and made small talk that felt genuine. For my meal, I ordered the Bacon and Blue Burger: wagyu beef, sustainable cane duroc bacon, Point Reyes aged blue cheese, port wine reduction, horseradish aioli, caramelized onions, mushrooms, arugula, on a brioche bun, served with house potato chips. Every bite was incredible! If you like blue cheese and mushrooms, this is a must-try. The wagyu beef was so flavorful. Others in my party had the steak, a salad, and chicken--everything was just as tasty. We'll definitely be coming back!
We came here for a baby shower and reserved the mezzanine level. It's minimum of 12 people so if you have lesser you still have to pay for 12 so fyi. But the table and chairs looks like it can accommodate up to 25 people. We had a prefix menu where we were able to select ahead of time. We selected the Granville salad, Angel hair pasta, trout, steak, and it came with a brownie dessert. The food was really good, it has mashed potatoes side, broccolini, and roasted carrots. Service was excellent from the greetings of the hostess and our amazing waiter. Definitely recommend for a mini gathering or party they also allow you to bring your own decor for the table.
My friends and I were looking for a rooftop bar nearby and came across this spot! Such a good find! They don't take reservations, but the wait wasn't bad at all. We went on a Saturday around 7pm. There was no wait for the downstairs area but since we wanted to be at the rooftop, we waited about 30 minutes for a table. The vibe is super cute and the service was really friendly. The drinks were all great, but the food was just okay. A few of us ordered the wagyu stroganoff and the meat was tender and flavorful, and our server gave us a heads up about the horseradish, which we really appreciated. The portions were huge, so we couldn't even finish. One of my friends ordered the spicy pasta and it was a bit disappointing. It had heat, but not much flavor. Even with a high spice tolerance, it tasted like straight crushed red pepper the whole time. Overall, definitely worth it for the ambiance and drinks!
Amazing restaurant with rooftop seating. Don't worry, there's an elevator. Our party of six got seated pretty quickly for a Sunday afternoon. The waiter was very attentive. We ordered appetizers and drinks , chatted a bit, then ordered dinner. The food came out together, not great timing but luckily there was room on the table. My black and blue burger was outstanding. The bacon, wish I had a pound of it. The flavor was like no other. I ordered my burger well and it was a bit undercooked for my taste but I didn't bother sending it back. Did I mention how delicious the bacon was. YUMMY. The fries, both white and sweet potato made a great side. Nice crisp on the outside. Would definitely recommend and return when in California again.
They have great deals for dineLA. The poke bowl is delicious and very light as well, with fruit and avocado tossed in. Get their Mac and cheese side, you won't be disappointed. Ambiance and aesthetic is more upscale casual. Service is also great as the servers come and check in on you very often
Had an incredible Sunday afternoon at Granville. No wait, gorgeous views, and the Espresso Martini was absolutely top-tier--perfectly balanced and crafted by a bartender who clearly knows his art and even tailored it to my taste. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the rooftop setting elevated everything. The appetizers were delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the company made it unforgettable. One of those experiences where everything just clicks. We'll definitely be back.
I've been curious about this place for awhile; their DineLA lunch menu finally brought me in. I don't come to the Lake Ave district all that often because parking is difficult, more so than Old Town I think. I quickly discovered Granville is a very popular place. It's located on the corner of Lake and Del Mar. Unlike some of the businesses on the east side of Lake that have entrances on Lake as well as from the rear parking lot, Granville only has a Lake Ave entrance. There are 5 Granville locations in LA. Some take reservations; Pasadena does not. The restaurant has 3 levels. Ground level has 2 dining rooms, one with a bar and communal table. There's a sidewalk dining area on Del Mar and 3 outdoor tables on Lake. The mezzanine has a dining nook that wasn't open when I was there, plus the restrooms and, I think, private dining room(s). The rooftop is a dining space and has its own bar. The DineLA menu included 3-courses and a beverage (non-alcoholic), with all items off the regular menu (and smaller portion sizes). My berry lemonade was quite nice. The Uptown Mac and Cheese was made uptown with the addition of chicken, peas and asparagus. Tasty with some crispy edges. The Poke Bowl was good, although the tuna was not seasoned with soy sauce or sesame oil or anything. There were soba noodles, mango, avocado and other ingredients, but many were overpowered by cilantro, an omnipotent herb. They were out of the cherry almond chip gelato I wanted, so I had the flourless chocolate cake, which came with vanilla cream and port cherries. It was fine. I was at the bar, and the bartenders were pretty attentive. I'd return, because the menu is pretty large.
Service is great the food tastes great and they do have a email promotion sign up so before you go be sure to sign up for that so that you are on their mailing list the restaurant itself is not large or huge there's a couple seating area there's a bar area there's a rooftop area and then a couple tables along the side if you want to people watch on the street that would be a good place to sit and the outside seating is pet friendly so that is a huge plus if you have a dog one of the restrooms was out of order during the time we went so they actually had to have a bathroom attendant to guide people in and out of the restroom
Went for dine la last weekend and was so glad I got to try this spot! It's a newer building with a chic vibe. There are no reservations so the wait can be long so time it wisely or look for seating in the bar area. I will say the dine la menu was awesome! Literally in times when everything is $$$ it was a great deal for good eats! I tried: - Uptown mac and cheese which was soo yummy and filling! It's similar to the one I make at home and was a real comfort food. Loved the veggies added. - Bacon & blue burger was really delicious! The flavors danced in my mouth and the burger was cooked to perfection! The chips that came with the burger were tasty, but a bit too salty for my taste - Flourless chocolate cake was another winner! Not too sweet or dense and a nice way to end the meal! - The meal also came with a berry lemonade, ice tea and craft soda option... definitely try the berry lemonade! So refreshing! All in all winner of a meal for dinela! Definitely going back!
Great spot for any occasion, they do not have reservations unless you have a party of 12 or more but they have plenty of room. We came right before Brunch was over so we just waited a few minutes to try their regular lunch menu. Their matcha drink was tasty, they Mac n Cheese was so rich and both of our entrees were amazing. We will def come back to explore more options and taste their other signature dishes. We sat on the third floor / rooftop, it was so nice. The top was covered so no sun burning you and open air going through the whole area made it a cool place. read more
I've been to this restaurant several times, and their homemade potato chips are my favorite. They're incredibly crispy and delicious. This time, we visited during Restaurant Week. Their lunch menu was $25 per person, which was quite generous and even included a drink. We ordered a berry lemonade. For lunch, we had a poke bowl and a chicken plate. For dessert, we enjoyed their homemade ice cream. Appetizer we choose salad and soup as starters. The price was fantastic, the food was delicious, the environment was lovely, and the service was very friendly. No wonder it's considered a Pasadena landmark. read more
Granville is always a good time! We went on a Friday around 3:30 pm and got served immediately. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. Our table ordered the Brussel sprouts, spicy half chicken, quinoa bowl, chicken noodle soup, and spicy pasta. All of which were great and larger portion than we thought! We did wish there were more vegetarian options though. We sat on the patio on a cloudy day and wished they had turned on the heaters to stop the wind. Overall, it was a great time. read more
It's always nice finding a restaurant where the lively atmosphere means you don't have to constantly remind your kid to keep their voice down. Granville in Pasadena definitely fits the bill. We brought my parents here for a celebration, and it had a fun, energetic vibe. The restaurant spans three levels, including a rooftop, though we were seated on the first floor--with a lovely view of Dunkin', haha. The bar area was inviting, with TVs showing the basketball games, adding to the casual yet upscale feel. Our server was kind and patient, which we appreciated. Since we were starving, we ordered our appetizers and entrées all at once. I typically don't eat beets, but somehow, the beets here were actually good. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, and the currants added a great touch. The Granville salad was more than enough to share, and while the sweet potato fries were nice and crispy, I actually preferred the regular fries--the thyme seasoning worked really well. For mains, our table ordered the Dry-Aged Branzino, Grilled Salmon, Bacon & Blue Burger, and Santa Barbara Chicken Sandwich, while I went with the Chipotle Chicken Club. The sandwiches come sliced in half, and my wife ended up liking mine more than hers... so I guess you could say my better half took my better half. Since we were celebrating, our server surprised us with two complimentary ice cream desserts, which was a really thoughtful touch. The menu is extensive, so I wouldn't be opposed to coming back, but with so many great spots in Pasadena, I'm not sure it'll be at the top of my list. Late review. We picked this Granville for their rooftop; we were a bridal party of 11, just shy of the 12 party minimum to make a reservation for the rooftop. The hostess said not to worry & confirmed over the phone that we would be ok if we arrived when their doors opened at 10:30am, so we arrive at 10:25am before doors open only to be told we can't be accommodated. Np! We can make it work. Now seated, we are asked to place the brides gifts onto a chair pulled over by the hostess/busboy (they were previously on an empty table next to us) that's when the manager approaches us angrily and begins to scold us for "taking a chair they'll need for other reservations!!!" we understand the gifts were a problem because of space, but for the manager to scold us when their staff was who placed the chair for us to use? Im sure the poor hostess felt the wrath as she was scolded in plain sight as well! This made for an uncomfortable brunch as we felt uninvited to our own party, but tried not to let this put a damper on our celebration. I know without a doubt that I will never recommend this location for a large event or celebration ever again. Now for the food, it was decent. Weho & Burbank Granville always a hit, it's too bad Pasadena was a miss. The drinks were great though! read more

Dope place, has 2 stories, rooftop usually requires reservation. Menu definitely a little ecletic, opted for regular yukon mashed potatos instead of wasabi mashed potatos, steak and sides were good and drink was amazing. Went to dinner here with one of my girl friend's to get drinks and catch up. Such a cute, cozy, and fancy restaurant! The interior aesthetics was giving me The Great Gatsby vibes with the bookshelf style bar and the "old money" wooden staircase. Definitely picturesque and instagram worthy! I had made reservations in advance so prevent any wait times, we were seated quickly and our server was fun and made our experience great! He recommended us a few items and had a great sense of humor. For starters, we ordered Brussels sprouts and Mac n cheese. The brussel sprouts were cooked well, crispy but not overly fried. The lemon vinaigrette was fresh, tart, and sooo addicting! I loved the addition of the toasted almonds, it added a nice crunchy nutty aspect to the brussel sprouts. I never usually get Mac n cheese but I was feeling fancy that day and ordered it. I'm quite picky about my Mac n cheese, I prefer soupy and cheesy Mac n cheese over a baked dried style Mac n cheese. This Mac n cheese was more on the baked, drier style Mac n cheese... not my fave! My girl friend enjoyed it though. For my main dish I ordered the Grilled Salmon, it was topped with cream corn and was sat upon mashed potatoes smothered in a Cajun sauce. My thoughts on the grilled salmon: 10/10! Perfectly cooked flaky salmon. The lemon butter flavor was rich but not heavy. The mash potato was creamy and paired nicely with the Cajun sauce. I don't even like creamed corn but the corn was amazing that night, the difference in texture brought complexity to the dish. I had such a great experience at Grandville and there's so any options on the menu, it's perfect for a date night with your boo, an excuse to get dressed up with your girl's for cocktails and a photo opt, or for a celebration. We've been to the other location before (West Hollywood) and already knew to expect good things. That said, this visit might have been even better. Service was nice. Our server was friendly and attentive. Everything came out quickly and exactly as ordered, which always makes a difference. The ambiance was beyond amazing, warm lighting, stylish decor, and a vibe that is just right between upscale and relaxed. It's a perfect spot for a date night, but casual enough for a fun dinner with friends, too. We were seated inside but we're already planning to come back and check out the rooftop as well! We ordered the angel hair pasta with chicken and the wagyu beef stroganoff, and both dishes were fantastic. The pasta was light and fresh, with tender, flavorful chicken. The stroganoff was rich and comforting, with perfectly cooked beef with mushrooms. We also tried two cocktails: the Tipsy Lemonade, which was refreshing and fun, and the Cucumber Martini, which completely stole the show (highly recommend!) Easily one of the best cocktails I've had in a while. Overall, everything from the food to the service to the ambiance, everything was wonderful. This is my first time visiting for DineLa. I opted to sit on their rooftop and the hostess at the bottom floor only allows one party at a time to go up so it can be rather slow. I decided to try their berry lemonade, little gem caesar, chipotle chicken club sandwich, and the flourless chocolate cake. The hits for me were the berry lemonade as it was a perfect balance between sweet and tart as well as the chicken sandwich! read more
Our group of four had a lovely time at Granville. The atmosphere was warm, inviting and cozy. We sampled beer, cocktails, food and dessert. The bacon and bleu burger was juicy, flavorful, and a nice portion. My cousin raved over the beef stroganoff, said it was the best. We split the strawberry shortcake, a buttery and crumbly biscuit serviced with berries and jam. The service was top notch, attentive and prompt. We will go back to Granville. I was in town and my friend recommended this restaurant for lunch and it did not dissapoint at all. The aesthetics is really nice. We were seated at the rooftop which had a nice vibe. The customer service was grear as well. They were serving brunch but you are able to order off the regular menu. The drinks were amazing. I had my eye on the spicy pasta and it was really good. I found this spot looking for a place to do a birthday/catch-up lunch with my mother. We wanted somewhere a little nicer but still casual, enough to sit and enjoy the vibes for a good while. Granville was perfect for that! We managed to get in with just 10 minutes of waiting for lunch on a Friday and sat on the rooftop. It's one of the very few rooftop dining places in the area, so although the views aren't particularly spectacular, I was very happy with the atmosphere. Their indoor dining areas were also beautifully decorated from what I saw on the way up. Service is great. Our waitress was very friendly and was helpful in answering all of our questions about the menu. I ordered the spicy chicken plate and my mom ordered the angel hair pasta. They were both quite hearty portions, and all of the vegetable and seafood ingredients tasted very fresh. Overall a very nice dining experience, and I would come back to Granville for another occasion lunch or dinner. read more
Based on the reviews, we had very high hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. The food was mediocre at best - we did like the spicy pasta with chicken a lot, which was our highlight 20/10. The wagyu beef stroganoff's flavor was a little too overwhelming for our liking. The berry lemonades were very sour, but it was ok. The service was okay, nothing special. Our server wasn't that nice, but also wasn't mean, I guess he was just there? He checked in on us a few times, so overall maybe 6/10 on that. The hostesses at the entrance were very nice. I would like to point out that the food was ready very quickly, which was a plus. We didn't like that they have no reservations at all for this specific location. Luckily, we went on a weekday evening and it was empty. We were hoping they would ask if we were celebrating anything since for this occasion, we were, which we would've been able to put on a reservation if we had one. Anyway, the inside was clean, but was kind of hot in there. Overall, maybe 6-6.5/10. Not "wow amazing," but also not terrible, just a little average. The only reason we would go back is for the spicy pasta, to check out the rooftop seating, and the Susiecakes next door. read more

Wow! It doesn't really get better than this! It is a beautiful location in every way, we chose to have our lunch on the roof deck in the Sun and a nice 72 F afternoon in Pasadena. The staff are all welcoming, smiling, friendly and attentive. The food the 3 of us had was outstanding - two were whole trouts and I had a delicious wagyu burger - super tender and delicious in every way. This place has got great ambiance (lots of people hanging out near the bar), a beautiful interior, and many tasty dishes. Out of all of the food items, my friends and I tried here, we all seemed to like the skirt steak, pork chop, and grilled cheese dipper the best. We thought that the wagyu beef stroganoff was decent though not amazing and that the spicy pasta was mediocre. Service was okay but probably because they were quite busy when we were there. Came here during a busy day and was promptly seated at the bar upstairs. Fortunately, during high noon there is shade overhead to keep you cool despite being on the rooftop. Our bartender was very friendly and asked our likes so that she could tailor her recommendations for us. Everything she suggested was spot on! The drinks were flavorful while still packing a punch. The thick-cut pork chop was so good, juicy, and is making my mouth water thinking about it while writing this review . Would definitely get it again. A beautiful restaurant situated in the heart of downtown Pasadena in the famous S Lake Ave. The ambience was very on-point, with a nice bar area and a gorgeous balcony area for more intimate sessions. The food was fairly good, with some dishes standing out noticeably more than the rest (including the skirt steak and pork chop bone-in). Service was fair, although somewhat inattentive perhaps given the customer traffic. Overall, a great outing at Granville! read more

Beautiful place to dine! We haven't dined upstairs in the open roof area yet, but the dining room is divine. Perfect for a date night or a celebration with your friends :). There is also a very beautiful bar with TVs if you want to watch sports! The food here is all locally sourced and the menu selection is so large that it's hard to choose! I've been here twice and tried: Thai Ginger Salad with Ahi - the dressing is nice and light, the salad is packed with yummy toppings such as mango, soba noodles, peanuts, and tomatoes- making it feel very whole! I've also tried their spicy pasta with salmon- oh to die for! The flavors are amazing and the dish looks so beautiful with the Campanelle! I would get this again. Girl time, great drinks, and a gorgeous space. I needed some girl time and met up with my dear friend at Granville in Pasadena. She had suggested it, and I had been here once before for dinner, but this time we came for drinks and appetizers and it was perfect. First off, I just love this place. The architecture is stunning with warm wood, modern touches, and a spacious layout. There's an upstairs and downstairs, and plenty of parking behind the restaurant which makes it super convenient. We sat at the bar and that made the experience even better. Our bartender was amazing, super attentive, and made sure we were good the whole time. The drinks were delicious. I had the Spicy Pineapple Margarita which had just the right kick with jalapeño and a dried pineapple slice on top. My friend had the Cucumber Martini and it was so crisp and refreshing. We shared a few appetizers: The crispy brussels sprouts were perfectly charred and flavorful The sweet potato fries came with ranch, ketchup, and a spicy dipping sauce And the chicken lettuce wraps were super fresh with avocado, slaw, and colorful veggies The vibe here is casual but you can definitely dress up a little, especially if you're coming for dinner. We came in around 5pm. It was already full. Wait time for the rooftop was 1hr. So we opted to seat downstairs, 30mins wait. Nice place to hang out. Enjoyed the food. Everything was good. The pork chops were juicy. Sweet Potato fries, Brussel sprouts and mac and cheese did not disappoint. We came in to celebrate my birthday. The food is delicious. I go to restaurants to try something different and interesting and this is definitely it! I ordered the grilled cheese with the sauce, and it's interesting because they put caramelized onions inside. Delicious! The sweet potato fries are superb, with lots of sauce to go with it. They give a choice of sauces. I ordered the blue cheese dressing and loved it. They put fresh diced green onions inside, which is a unique twist. I also got the spicy pasta, which is a twist on the traditional pasta primavera. Very tasty. Definitely loved the unique flavors. I ordered takeout but went inside and the restaurant has a great laid back vibe. There isn't too much street parking but the back alley has a parking lot with the first 90 minutes free. The service is also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend! read more

Such a cute spot!! They also have rooftop seating which I love. I wish yelp did half stars because I'd like to give 4.5 stars! The service was amazing and they were closing down in 30 min. Yes! There's a community table in the bar area as well as a private dining area mid-level. I prefer the rooftop and I believe tables can be joined together for larger groups.
