I didn't have a prescription so I just wanted a fast appointment so I could get that prescription and get the new pair glasses I'd been eyeing. I worked with Anne-Marie and Dr. Grant from start to finish and it couldn't have been a better experience. They were extremely friendly, professional and most importantly patient, which I was worried about since I had a little one with me. They put me at ease and understood my concerns and the bonus was they were so sweet and patient with my little one. Every eye exam is extremely detailed and I always leave the office with a wealth of knowledge. I recently visited Grant Optometric after not being in for several years and was quickly reminded what a difference an attentive staff, thorough process and very engaged Doctor can be. Dr Grant spent a lot of time with me making sure I had the exact prescription and fit for my contact lenses. He was extremely meticulous in his examination of my eyes making me confident that if there had been anything out of the ordinary he would have seen it. I also ended up buying my first set of progressive lense glasses while I was there and they offered thoughtful advise on my frame choice while explaining all of my options with no pressure. My son and I both went to Grant Optometric Group for an eye exam and eye dilation. Turns out my son has eagle-eyes while I needed new lenses. Dr. Grant & team were fantastic throughout, and very mindful of cleanliness and safety procedures, limited number of patients in the office, all wore masks, and sanitized surfaces/equipment after each use. I wanted to put the new lenses in my old frames, so Dr. Grant really went the extra mile for me and provided an extra pair of glasses with my old prescription as a backup until my frames/lenses come back. I came in here about six months ago and I'm not sure why I never reviewed this office. I saw Dr. Alderson and she was able to hook me up with some contacts that enabled me to actually SEE. I didn't realize how badly my previous Rx had been messed up by the idiots I went to before until I came here. All I know is that I couldn't see squat and just thought I was going blind or something. Not all eye doc's are created equal. If you want to see a doctor who actually knows how to fit you with glasses and contacts that help you to see then head on over here. My husband saw Dr. Grant (Jr.) and he liked him. I've never seen either of the Grants but I will keep going back to Dr. Alderson since she knows what she is doing. This office is located next to the Trinity Broadcasting Network. I had trouble parking when I came back to pick up my glasses because the office next door was having an event. According to the girls at the front desk this "NEVER" happens but I had to take my life in my hands, park my car across the street and then RUN across Bear St. to get to the office. We came back the next week to pick up hubby's glasses and had no trouble parking. The girls in the office were nice and friendly, the selection of glasses is nice and priced on par with other optical offices. I will for sure come back to Dr. Alderson for my annual visit. She even did a test to see if I had dry eyes (I don't, just allergies) which nobody had ever suggested before. The only negative is that this office is closed on the weekends. I don't care, I will take some time off work to come here, my eyesight is worth it. read more

I visited Grant Optometric group early this morning. I had scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kevin Grant about a week ago under recommendation from a coworker. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like going to doctors of any kind, I'm usually quite uncomfortable dealing with those types of situations, filling out forms or even just being in an office that deals with people's health. However, visiting Grant Optometric Group was a great experience, all of the workers were very courteous, professional and efficient at their tasks. Dr. Grant was very quick to notice my astigmatism and realised that my current glasses were not set up correctly to compensate for the difference in my right eye. He was able to demonstrate the difference after performing a few eye tests and I am very excited to get my new glasses in now! I drug my feet quite a bit when attempting to pick new frames for my glasses and Dr. Grant even offered advice and took time to help me look through different pairs for one that would fit me well. Overall this was a great experience and I'll be happy to suggest this office to my family. read more

5-stars to all three doctors at the office: Dr. Steven Grant, Dr. Alderson, and Dr. Kevin Grant!! I had the opportunity to observe each of them give eye examination to numerous patients, and I must say they are down-to-earth, friendly, and very knowledgeable. All three of them make a wonderful group practice!! Dr. Steven Grant is a Diplomate of the Cornea and Contact Lens Section, and all that means is he is AWESOME at fitting all types of contact lenses from soft to hard in patients who had past Radial Keratectomy, Irregular Astigmatism, Keratoconnus, Pellucid, and other unique cornea diseases. He is highly respected by many colleagues and his patients. I remembered one of his recent patients called him a "magician" and cried with happy tear because Dr. Grant was able to correct his vision from 20/800 to 20/30 with a hard contact lens. He's very patience and is willing to work with others. Dr. Alderson is very sweet and friendly. She works with many infants who come to the office, and is very comfortable working with young children. She is very well-rounded, and you can discuss anything with her even if it's not related to the eyes! i've seen her fit a few patients with Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) and it basically reshapes your cornea so you do not need to wear glasses or contact lens during the day time! WHOOHOOO!!! She is a SUPER friendly optometrist with a great smile! Dr. Kevin Grant is very knowledgeable in ocular diseases such as Diabetic Retinopathy, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, and MORE! He does a wonderful job explaining complicated things into simple words that anyone can understand! He cares for his patients, and his patients appreciate the time he spends with them. The Staff at Grant Optometric Group is WONDERFUL! They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the different types of lenses, frames, contact lens disinfecting solutions, and etc. They are all very professional, and they match color scrubs everyday! been going here 10 years or more... since senior was still running the place. It's always been a pretty good outfit and I've gotten good service. The problem I ran into was when I sent my woman in there for an exam and for a new pair. One thing that's always irritated me was them (and most optometrists) wanting to take a picture of the inside of your eye, which insurance never covers. She was specifically instructed to decline this. She got a good exam and a good pair of glasses. 7 months after the exam, I get this $35 bill for a stupid picture of her eye, which she never saw, and says she doesn't remember anything about. We protest, and they say too bad, and we protest more. We asked for, and still never got this alleged picture of her eye... 7 months after the fact. The money doesn't mean anything to me, I'm lucky that way. It's strictly a matter of principle of being sold something that isn't or wasn't needed, just to up-sell and run the bill up.... especially on unsuspecting wives. I gave them their $35 under protest, and I ain't happy about it a little bit. We already found another optometrist outfit in town that was more than competent, and she's more than satisfied with the new glasses she picked up last week The three stars is because they're more than competent and every pair of glasses I got over the years were good... still, we aren't going back there, and I don't recommend anyone else to either. Finally! I have finally found an optometrist I like and trust. I have been to several different optometrists and no one has ever treated me with the care and respect that Dr. Kevin Grant has. He is very intuitive and calmly explains everything he's doing while giving an exam. His sense of humor is a huge plus! I've seen Dr. Kevin Grant twice now, and I must say he's the best optometrist I've ever seen. He's caring, professional, and takes the time to explain what he observes and recommends so I can make educated decisions on how to proceed with care. For example, although I am very near-sighted, I had never had my pupils dilated. Dr. Grant explained how important the procedure was to detect any abnormalities that my near-sightedness left me more likely to have. His deft touch made the procedure a breeze. Oh yeah, and he tweaked my prescription (I have astigmatism) just a little bit, but it has made a huge difference in my vision. My new contacts are great, and I've never seen better. In addition to his excellent eye care service, I appreciate the personal care I received from both him and his staff. I've always had difficulty picking out glasses that I feel comfortable wearing since most glasses do not fit my head properly. Dr. Grant went out of his way to help me pick out a pair that looks great. He had me try on one pair after another, giving his input with each pair, helping me narrow it down. Where do I start to thank Dr. Kevin Grant for literally saving my eyesight!!! I have had high eye pressure for many years and Dr Grant explained that even though I didn't think I needed further testing, because of his tests he highly recommended that I make an appointment to see a glaucoma specialist. I am a Nurse Practitioner and put off the appointment because I was in the middle of a move. Well I ended up having symptoms and called Dr Grant and he explained that I needed to be an advocate and call and have the surgery immediately. I called and had had the emergency surgery this morning. I came here (for the first time) for my annual eye check-up and am very happy with the service. When I made my appointment via phone the first time, they operator was very courteous and helpful. When I came in for my check-up the receptionist were friendly. Dr. Kevin Grant (the son) took care of me and was very professional about it. Not the biggest sense of humor but he knows his stuff. I highly recommend Dr. Grant, I have a rare eye disease called Keratoconus; which is basically a very, very severe sigmatism. When I moved to Orange County I needed to find a new eye doc, Dr. Grant has been amazing and all his staff is super friendly. He recommended I used a scleral lens which is a special contact that takes a lot of trial and error to get the fit right. This also means a lot of doc appointments, Dr. Grant and his team were also extremely accommodating to my work schedule in order to get my fit right. And now I see SO much better than my soft contact lens and I have little to no discomfort. I definitely recommend Grant Optometric for any eye care need. read more

Five stars for service and professional manner. Three stars for availability. I've been coming to this office for many years, and never have I seen such difficulty in making an appointment! They used to have appointment times on Saturday, but now it's only Monday through Friday. I've called several times over the past few months and every time they are booked (and I'm calling for 2 weeks in advance). All they can do is put me on a wait list. I'm changing optometrists for the simple fact that if I can't make an appointment that works with my schedule, then it's time to look at other options. It's too bad because I really like the office staff and optometrists. If you decide to come here, be prepared to have a very flexible schedule and have 3-4 weeks to plan ahead for an appointment. read more

Okay, this place is AWESOME! First and foremost inside is super clean ! (I am a neat freak) Secondly, the staff there make you feel at home and are very very friendly. Dr. Grant was very accommodating and informative. I didn't feel rushed at all so patient care was top notch. He also allowed me to experiment which contact lens prescription would best fit my needs in the real world as my prescription is a high one and working in front of a computer all day with astigmatism in 1 eye and almost needing bifocals because I am nearing that age creates a complex situation.
