Granny's Kitchen is a simple sorta hole-in-the-wall diner down on old Main Street in Stillwater. The ambiance is early 1970's-19780's cafeteria with old style cafeteria chairs and tables. There really isn't much in terms of romantic decor. BUT the FOOD is REALLY GOOD, You'll find Huge portions, friendly service, good tasting stuff. My wife's Fajita Salad was HUMONGOUS. The salad sits in a large bread loaf size fried flour tortilla container. Seriously, you could bring 5 friends, add tortilla wrappers and have a meal for everyone. Meanwhile I ordered the Pig Biscuit- a pair of biscuits covered with pork, sausage, bacon and cheese. Choose the hash browns with onions green peppers and cheese. Their sausage gravy is good, but not the best. All in all this is a really good choice for breakfast or lunch. read more

Used to be great place for breakfast but has declined recently. Like the other reviewer, I ordered a veggie omelet. It was overcooked on the outside and runny on the inside. And the vegetables were still crunchy. It's better to bring your own jam too because they will give you only two small packets for the Texas toast. That's literally the name of this account it would be a disappointment to all of my 2 fans if I didn't talk about the chocolate milk. It wasn't very good. Mostly was just milk. And the milk was warm, but that's probably because I spent about 10 minutes trying to stir what was left of the chocolate essence into my milk. But alas, it was still milk. So thanks for the milk I guess. I'd give the milk a solid 0.5/10 because Even though, yes, it was milk. It was not very good milk. And it didn't have chocolate in it. I've had the following: Cinnamon Roll Cowboy Club Sandwich with avocado and French fries Cowboy Skillet with sausage links, fried eggs over easy, and Texas toast Breakfast Mash-Up with fried eggs over medium All were very good. The atmosphere feels a tad on the sterile side for a place that's supposed to be homey, but it's otherwise comfortable. In a city that's lacking in good traditional American food, Granny's Kitchen stands out. I am learning, with dismay, that things have changed in the restaurant business. Overall, our breakfast was good. Flavors were good, portion size was good, wait staff good, but to keep costs down so they can stay open i understand that corners need to be cut where they can be. The food has always been hot when delivered to the table and in plentiful amounts; meaning you won't go home hungry. We stopped by the Stillwater location while visiting our kid at OSU. We found the food and service to be excellent.

This restaurant was recommended and I see why. The portions are huge, the eggs are super fresh and tasteful, and the service was good. I ordered two eggs, with bacon, tomato and toast. With 4 slices of tomato, bacon and toast I had enough left after eating the eggs to make a BLT! We tried this popular place a couple weeks ago. I don't remember the name of the hamburger but it came with slices of avocado. It looked fantastic however with the first bite I could tell no seasoning had been put on the meat. I was surprised and disappointed to discover the salt hadn't helped. The meat had NO flavor. It was like eating a piece of cardboard. The bun and the garnishments were very fresh, plentiful and tasty. The fries were wonderful! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Highly overrated. Always a wait (because there aren't a lot of other choices in town). They'll tell you 40 min. and it ends up being 75 min. Service is subpar (reflection of management). Menu is extremely long. Restaurant is very noisy. Food is overpriced, bland, and usually cold by the time you get it. And forget about getting a refill. As far as brunch in Stillwater goes, this place used to be up there for me. Food is decent; they have a wide variety of egg benedicts and I know some people LOVE their giant cinnamon rolls. Potatoes were a little meh - hash browns were a bit too greasy; tried the home fries instead, and they were lackluster too. It can get crazy busy on the weekends, and the staff doesn't seem to handle the whole estimating wait-times very well--also there aren't many places to sit in the entry area, so a 30 min. wait can be pretty uncomfortable. Based on all of the above, I'd give Granny's a four; brunch options in Stilly are limited. Sadly, my my primary brunch companions (who are an openly lesbian couple) felt very unwelcome there the last time they went, and don't go any more. The nasty threatening looks came more from other diners than the staff, but they still felt really uncomfortable. If the management wants to be attract a diverse population, then they need to redouble their efforts to ensure that all their customers are embraced, regardless of sexual orientation. Based on all of this, I would demote my rating to a three. Alas, the last time I ate at Granny's there had been a change in decor: before it was true that the atmosphere could be cozier, but the industrial 70s "banquet" chairs weren't so noticeable when it's full of hungry brunchers. Sadly, the changes are not for the better: now there are a bunch of weirdly aggressive/racist cartoonish images all over the walls and ads laminated right into the table tops. If you can catch Granny's on a good day, I would say absolutely go, but on the much more common chance they won't be having a great day, you should probably pass and save your money. This used to be my favorite breakfast place before they started trying to franchise and began getting cheaper ingredients. Just not worth the price anymore. In fact, on one occasion, I had ordered my eggs over easy, and when they came out they were super heavy on the easy - not even cooked. When I asked if they could be sent back, the eggs they gave me were also outrageously underdone. I would say save your money, just not as good as before. However, their service is always great, and I enjoy sitting in the basement, it has a cool ambiance and something unique to Stillwater. read more

So good very very sweet staff feels like a mom and pop restaurant. The food is a great price for how much you get as well.

Edit: I am astonished at the owner of this restaurant. He reached out to me and personally apologized and offered an in person meeting. Being from the west coast where things like this would never happen this amazes me. It makes me feel better that this won't happen again and that he truly cares about his restaurant and the community that loves it. Me and my family used to love coming here for the food. The food is very good and the service used to be good. We got here around 1:45 pm and it was full. I didn't mind waiting with my family. We waited for around 30 minutes. When we had a table open that we couldn't sit at because I have autism and I was already struggling with how many people were there; so we asked for a booth and said we can wait longer. A lady in her mid 60's with a sour attitude, said we only have one table despite there being more private tables available, or we could've waited for a booth like we asked. She was extremely rude even after we explained that I have a disability and essentially made us leave. I'm personally sad that the staff at this restaurant wants nothing but to leave as soon as possible. This isn't the first occasion of my family and I coming here and half the staff is rude and obviously wants to go home and doesn't care about their customers. read more
