This place is adorable! Came here for breakfast while I was in town. They're have a very friendly staff. That amazing southern charm made me feel at home. This is a place that people know everybody and you can see they care about their customer. The menu is really big!! And so are their portions haha everybody fakes a leftover box home. I decided to order from the lighter menu because I think it was gonna be more than enough and it sure was! Had an egg with sausage links, potatoes and a biscuit with gravy. I had not been back to Grannys since the quarantine, but after dining reopen I went back. I got meat loaf dinner with brussel sprouts. The meat loaf was recently frozen and just grill heated up (it became quite black in the process also). The brussel sprouts came out so black I tasted one to just make sure I was right and it too was burnt. Never again will they get my money. read more

I will say though if you have a huge appetite and are up for it get the nasty grandma. It's a mountain of food but the flavor is pretty darn good. Lots of great reviews-a local place was just what I wanted. In an old building in downtown but street parking was pretty easy. A bit divey and quaint with a breakfast menu so large I had a hard time choosing. Decided on Southwest Breakfast Burrito. I like that turkey sausage is avsilable. This thing is huge. Good thing. I ordered with Salsa on the side. This is not a roll-down-the-foil breakfast burrito. Fork required. The sausage, peppers & onions were diced up nicely which made it great. As a guilty pleasure I ordered a cinnamon roll to go for a later repast. By the way the service was great and my food arrivef quicly. My coffee cup was kept full by all the nice young servets. It is rare I get to slow down & enjoy breakfast my job is travelling to hospitals and going into surgery so more often than not it means free hotel breakfast or drive-through. I love a good dive place that is locally owned. Went here for breakfast on Mom's weekend. It was packed but we waited less than 30 minutes. Huge menu! Tons of options. If your waitress is having a riff with another over something as simple as not pulling their weight refilling the to-go lids or restocking napkins--you'll hear about it. If they woke up on the wrong side of the bed, they'll tell you and give a warning about their mood. That said, you may also get a warm welcome and attentive, friendly service like something akin to I don't know, your granny? Is it worth the wait? If you detest corporate chains, want to support local, and enjoy common, average diner fare...I guess so. If you're looking for a quaint, secret, hidden gem...you will be disappointed. And no, there is no old lady behind the curtain running things; that's just to give you warm fuzzys and get you in the door. This place is great for breakfast and brunch. It is tucked away downtown almost near the outskirts of town and is nearly forgotten. However, if you are downtown it's worth dropping in at. The building itself is older but don't let that fool you on the quality of food. The service was great very friendly and helpful plus they kept our drinks filled which is big for me. I ordered a breakfast burrito which was delicious and huge. If you're a lighter eater their burritos are definitely something you can split. Granny's is by far my favorite restaurant in Stillwater! As someone who enjoys sleeping in whenever possible, I will gladly wake up early to come eat here! Great breakfast, and great lunch. The portions are huge so you never have to worry about not leaving full. Every staff member I have met has been incredibly helpful and kind to me. Granny's is the definition of real home cooked food at a down to earth diner style restaurant. The portions are always big - hence you will often see the OSU cross country guys here (runners eat A LOT). Most dishes come with your choice of potatoes/fruit, and toast/pancakes, and there's a great selection of jams at the table.
