Good dim sum with the family! Not sure how it compares to other places in town, but I thought it was pretty good! Got the classic staples: siu mai, sticky rice, fong zau, chang fun, etc.

It's been a while since I've been in the Brimley/Huntingwood neighbourhood of Scarborough. I used to live nearby and there have been many changes throughout the years but there's been good food in the plaza for many years. An old friend and I had a craving for Chinese BBQ so we headed to Grandeur Palace, located in Chartwell Shopping Centre. We both had a combo with BBQ Duck, Roast Pork, Rice, Vegetables, and a bottle of water for $10.99. It was a good price, considering the generous portions that we got and the quality of the food. It was really good, with meaty pieces and great flavour. There are lots of similar offering in Scarborough but this place was good. I'd come back.

I went to this restaurant on winter solstice. It was busy . I am able to book early dinner on the same day. The place for dinner is casual . Half of the place was divided by party. I ordered set dinner and it has big portions. Food is good especially in such a busy night. The food does not downgrade compare to normal days. The parking is pretty busy at that night.

Solid restaurant for dim sum. Located in a busy Chinese plaza, they are ALWAYS busy. Therefore parking lot can be messy. To be expected though, so give yourself more time to arrive! Expect a wait for a table (even if you have reservations) and service. But we're all here for the food anyway. Been here twice now, both times for dim sum. Service is fast, tea is great, and food is always on point. It's not the fanciest dim sum place but a pretty reliable option. All the basic common dishes are done well here. It's perfect to satisfy any dim sum craving. It's a great option for super casual dim sum.

We went for lunch on a busy weekday. We inquired with the hostess how long the wait would be. She snarkily told us that she wouldn't be able to tell us since she doesn't know what size tables will become available first and how she'll fit people in. I can't even remember everything that she kept blabbing on about. All she really had to say was that she's not sure and to tell us the next number that she'll be calling for. When we finally were seated, one of the tea cups on the table was dirty, as was a napkin. The glass bowl used to rinse your eating utensils and dishes had brown water at the bottom. The food was good, and the rest of the staff were friendly and polite. The hostess should receive customer service training.

I like coming here for dimsum but their dinner menu is also very good. Customer service was excellent and food came out fast. Peking duck was very good size and lobster was deliciously fried. Not too salty.

Recently, I visited @grandeurpalacechinesecuisine and tried some of their Dim Sum (Shrimp Balls, Siumai, Hargow, Chicken Feet, Seep Fried Spices Octopus Tentacles, Steamed Brown Sugar Sponge Cake, Fish Shaped Cold Mango Pudding, Deep Fried Lotus Paste Sesame Balls, Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls, Claypot Rice Meal. Perhaps one of my favorite finds in this restaurant is the Crispy Tofu Cubes Coated with Salty Egg Yolk. The place is big but could get busy so if you want good deals on your dim sum arrive early in the morning!

This BBQ pork is absolutely amazing. Very tender indeed. Way better than a lot of places in GTA!

This is a dimsum restaurant. But the highlight is its BBQ window at the back of the restaurant, facing the food court. This is literally top-notch! Honestly, this is one of the very best BBQ pork places in GTA as of May 2023. It is absolutely amazing. So tender. The meat quality they use is fabulous. The secret honey bbq sauce is so delicious. And the price is even better than a lot of similar places in Markham Richmond Hill. So good. Whoever craves for this very classic dish, please understand it is totally worth it to visit this place in Scarborough. Highly highly recommended.

I came here for a family dinner. It was quite busy, they had a section sectioned off for a wedding. The food was ok, service was a bit slow, our orders were forgotten and our food came out late, likely because they had to focus on the wedding party. As dinner got further into the night, they had forgotten to switch off the speaker that resonated throughout the restaurant and was quite loud forcing all their clients to listen to out of tune karaoke. The restaurant is decorated in Victorian style/fancy Chinese restaurant style table cloths. This place is far from me, but I have been here many times, food has been consistent for the times I have been here.

Well, if there is ever a place in Scarborough that I can count on for classic Cantonese favorites for dim sum and dinner, there is Grandeur Palace! Located in the heart of Scarborough, Grandeur Palace offers great deals to sample their dim sum and savory menu options! The lobster (however prepared) is always fresh and piping hot where after one bite, the entire table will clean up! The crab and fish maw stew is a nice balance of chunky pieces of crab in a nice stock with fish maw. The Sweet and Sour Pork is nice and crispy with right amount of sauce to coat it. The Lamb Stew is perfect for the winter season to warm up with the lettuce stewing in the broth and all the ingredients for an umami bite! They also have Lobster E Fu Noodles which are awesome for both dine in and take out for a great price! I can't wait for my next visit to Grandeur Palace!

Came here recently for dinner with family for a birthday celebration. We decided to have an early dinner at 4pm to avoid the crowd and we were one of two tables at that time. We had amazing service mainly due to one hostess who made the dinner experience so wonderful. She made sure that the sweet bday buns were steamed just before we were ready to have our desserts and she quickly clear the table before setting up the bday cake that we brought with the sweet buns and complimentary desserts. We got some really nice family pics! She helped us with serving the cake and provided us with lots of take out boxes for packing the left overs. Overall the service from all the staff was excellent like refilling our tea pots and changing our plates half way through our dinner. Keep in mind that we may have gotten better service since they weren't that busy between 4:30pm to 5:30pm. There was 10 of us and we ordered 8 dishes and the best dishes were the braised beef ribs and fried jumbo shrimps. The other dishes were good too but these were your usual Chinese dishes so not too different from other places but all the seafood dishes were really fresh! Overall this place has solid Chinese food and we'll definitely be back.

Lots of variety on the menu. The highlights of every dim sum meal here are the durian pastry and pot rice. As for the dinner options, the Peking duck, crab with noodles, fried fish in corn sauce, house special fried rice, and stir fried beef with peppers are all superb dishes! My favourites had to be the Peking duck and fried fish in corn sauce. The duck skin was super crispy. Also, they served the corn sauce separately so the fried fish wasn't soggy by the time it reached the table. We also tried the Peking duck for take-out, which I wouldn't order again for the time being as the duck skin is no longer crispy by the time we reach home. It is just one of those dishes you have to have right out of the kitchen! For this visit, we ordered a combo of lobster, fried rice with lobster roe, fried pork chops, steamed chicken, and veggies. The fried rice with lobster roe is sooo dangerously addicting. The steamed chicken was juicy and flavourful. This spot has become our family's go-to spot for dim sum/dinner. Would recommend trying this restaurant out!

Behind its unassuming exterior lies a dining room of quiet sophistication: modern, luminous interiors with tasteful appointments that signal immediately this is no ordinary Cantonese restaurant. The dim sum programme is where Moon Palace truly distinguishes itself. Each piece arrives with a precision and generosity of filling that speaks to genuine kitchen pride -- plump dumplings, impeccably fresh shrimp, and roasted meats that carry an unmistakable depth of flavour reminiscent of Hong Kong's finest teahouses. The quality of ingredients is evident in every bite; nothing here feels like an afterthought. What deserves particular commendation is the consistency. Over multiple visits, the standard has never wavered -- a hallmark of disciplined kitchen craft that is rarer than it should be. In a neighbourhood saturated with tourist-facing options, Moon Palace maintains an unwavering commitment to authenticity and refinement. Service is attentive and gracious without being intrusive, contributing to an atmosphere that invites one to linger. I have recommended Moon Palace to friends and colleagues without hesitation, and will continue to do so. A polished gem in downtown Toronto's culinary landscape.

There were so many dishes I started losing track. LOL. I also don't know all the names of the dishes as I didn't see the menu. One of the dishes was a fried lobster. They showed the lobster to us (poor lobster) before cooking it. The lobster tasted really good but I'm not used to handling lobster in its shell. LOL. There was a pumpkin soup which I couldn't eat since it had dairy in it. Another dish was a Peking duck with rice paper wraps, cucumber & green onions. This was my favourite dish. Delicious, yummy & simple to eat. Another dish was chicken (I didn't taste that one). We also had a fried rice which was so yummy. Then there was a dish with scallops, oysters, pork & seaweed surrounding it. I tried the scallops & they were delicious. There was another duck dish but this time the duck was chopped into little pieces with some Dessert was a yogurt / jelly type of thing which I can't eat due to my dairy intolerance. Service was really great. I'm not sure if that's because I was at a table full of Chinese people though. LOL. The dishes came quickly & they just kept coming! We had tiny plates to eat from so after the lobster we got clean plates. For the fried rice we had the servers separate it into bowls for everyone. Since we couldn't finish all the food we had them wrap up the leftovers & we took it back with us. Myself & another co-worker split up the leftovers between us since no one else wanted it. Ambiance: The restaurant had some nice lunar new year decorations up. It was pretty. Located inside the Atrium on the Bay this is an easy location to get to. The location was the site of a former restaurant called Spring Rolls. It still looks the same the only thing that changed were the tables & chairs. The washrooms are downstairs in the lowest level of the restaurant. It was hard for me to get down there because my knees are really stiff & painful. It would've been nice if they had a handicap washroom on the main level. The food was delicious & service was attentive. I thought the special lunar new year meal we chose was too much food for six people. I would've been happy with dim sum. Also the washrooms being in the basement was an inconvenience for me. Those who are mobility challenged will have the same issue.

Both times were for lunch, and there was a large party both times. It was also a treat for me to show for the first time my Texas-based niece and nephew one of my favourite Chinatown places in Toronto. We were seated very quickly, despite the lunch rush. Very clean tables and floors, and a well-lit area. Since there were eight of us, we got the round table with a lazy Susan. We started with the chicken and corn soup, which heated us up quickly on a chilly January day. Then the dim sun arrived in numbers, from the delectable Har Gow, the scrumptious Siu Mai, the tasty deep-fried squid tentacles, the texture of the curried cuttlefish, and the interesting mouth-feel of chicken feet. Sizzling plates of beef in black bean sauce and shrimp/scallops in a Szechuan sauce were just epic, arriving to the table in a scathing aroma that made my mouth water. We had to balance all that great protein with some savoury Gai Lan, sautéed in garlic. All in all, we arrived in cold spirits, but left with full bellies! Thanks for showing my niece and nephew one of the best establishments on Spadina!

When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.
