Tried it last night. I love seafood and the Peruvian cuisine cannot do it any better. The papa a la Huancaina - potatoes in a cheesy sauce - was delicious! The "aji" (Peruvian hot sauce) was the best I've had in a long time. My husband and I shared the "Aguacate Misti" which is an avocado with crab meat and melted Parmesan cheese and to me it was ok... but my husband loved it though. I would give the food here a solid 3.5 HOWEVER, What could have been an enjoyable experience was ruined by a waitress who decided that eating the Cancha (the toasted snack they serve you as soon as you get seated) right out of the serving container with her bare hands was acceptable!! She repeatedly did this, wiping her hands on her shirt and touching utensils and serving customers in between!!! Disgusting!!! The service at Gran Inka was great. We started off with the yuca stuffed with meat appetizer and the fish ceviche. I recommend both. The whole table went crazy over them. For our main dish we had the angus skirt steak cooked medium which was deliciously seasoned and came with veggies. To wash everything down we all had a round of Cristal beers. This place was overpriced honestly. Most of their entrees were at least $15 or more (the lunch I ordered was $21). Wowza! Of course, the presentation was perfect with every dish and their service was very nice. It was also very clean and classy inside for sure. Recommended by a Peruvian colleague. The moment you walk in you know it's authentic. Patrons are all Peruvian. Only spanish is spoken. We ordered their classic ceviche. I have visited this place 3 x and the ceviche phenomenal and fish dishes you can choose the Spiciness. My daughter orders the seafood soup - the best ever broth and feed Us 2 nights . I've stopped at the Inka a few times for lunch when I've been to Key Biscayne and really enjoyed the food and service. It seems a bit pricey, but the food is so different than I'm used to, that it's worth it for the fun of it. Friends who should know tell me that this grub is the real Peruvian deal. I'll take their word for it and it gives me a reason to consider Peru for my next vacation... Everything I've had has been perfectly plated (I mean really cute) and delicious. Great food!!!! Just on the pricey side..... This was one of the few places you could get authentic, extremely high quality Peruvian food in Miami until the recent "Peruvian restaurant explosion." Very nice decor but the location (small retail spot in a strip mall next to a Winn Dixie) takes away from the ambiance. I'd still recommend highly though for a unique experience. What a terrible experience I just had at this place. I used to come here a lot. Trust me this is the last time. It took more than 20 minutes just for the server to get out drinks to the table. The food is not bad, and the decor is OK, BUT the what was really outstanding is the waitress with a bad attitude......sour.....very sour... tip was included in the bill, and not only that a 28% percent tip was included, she gave us another table's check with an $100.00 Dollars mistake? We had to call the credit card company and Instead of being apologetic, she gave us the cold shoulder and ignore us. El Gran Inka offers some of the best, if not the best, Peruvian dishes I've tasted in Miami. The service is prompt and friendly, the food was just perfect and very unique in its taste. We started with a shrimp appetizer on top of potatoes with avocado, the shrimp was fresh, potato perfect, and avocado smooth and delicious. We had the classic papa a la huancaina with the hands down the best yellow sauce I've ever had, not overly spicy, just right. My boyfriend's beef dish was served with an egg on top and fried yuca. I appreciate that the pan fried pieces of tomato managed to not break up into watery tatters. The hearty pieces of fries soaked up almost all of the excess saucy goodness, leaving me with a neat presentation. Bravo. Of course the same can be said of the salteado de mariscos. I went to this restaurant on a Sunday night with a couple of friends. We had reservations, and good thing because it was packed when we got there! The waiters seemed a little overwhelmed, and though they were nice, They were simply too busy to really be attentive to us. My favorite part of the meal was the appetizers. The ceviche was delicious and so was the shrimp and calamari. I had the pescado sudado and it was good, but nothing I was crazy about. Wow this place is amazing. There's dozens of items on the menu I want to come back to try. As you can see from my picture the Lomo de Huancaina looks amazing and it also tastes that way. I thought the food was ok, it could have been better. We ordered lomo saltado and the meat was undercook and very fatty. I told the waiter, (who by the way didnt look to happy of working) that meat wasn't cook. His explanation is that lomo saltado is like that. our visit to this place was for two adults and two kids and usually waiters ask if they should bring kids food first, this waiter didn't. we waited for a long time and i finally asked him where was the food especially the kids food, that shouldn't take that long.
