Seating is available, and there's also a fun merch section with T-shirts, stuffed bears, cups, a cooler, and other little gifts. They also offer to-go chocolates and candy. The flavors were fresh and delicious, and service was very quick. I ordered a mint chocolate cup, and it was scooped and served fast. The only downside was that the server's conversation was inappropriate and made the interaction somewhat awkward. Otherwise, it's a cute stop with good treats and lots of variety.
After having lunch we stopped in for dessert--my first ever Graeter's experience! This is a casual counter-serve ice cream parlor, which also serves some bakery treats and coffee. Service was average--a couple of young people working got the job done; nothing really of note (good or bad). My boyfriend is from the area and has raved about the black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream here for as long as I've known him... and he was right to do so! This ice cream is about as close to perfection as I've ever had (in terms of ice cream). There are big fudgey chocolate chunks throughout and the consistency is super creamy; definitely don't skip this flavor! We also tried a "nectar soda," which to me, seemed like vanilla ice cream with cream soda--it was non-memorable. Graeter's will be a part of every future trip to Cincinnati for this girl--I can't wait to try more flavors!
I came here around 8pm on a Thursday night and was able to order right away. I wanted to try 2 flavors so I got a double scoop with strawberry chip and peanut butter chip. Literally my dream flavors combined. I got a sugar cone and flipped it into a cup since I was walking back to my hotel from there. The ice cream is decadent, rich, smooth, and truly tastes homemade. This place was recommended by my Uber driver. Definitely something I could (but shouldn't) eat regularly, it's that good! I like how they have plenty of classic flavors but also some more unique ones. I think my cone was around $8 total.
Wow! Glad I stumbled upon this place near my hotel. This place is awesome! I had dessert here three times during my several days stay in the city. Staff were warm and welcoming! Clean and pleasant sitting area.
This place really showed up everywhere on lists of places to be dar Cincinnati so could not skip out. We tried a lot of flavors and horse had to get that famous Black Cherry Chocolate Chip. I'm not usually a fan of ice cream that has fruity flavors or any fruity desserts in general. But oh man, this was unbelievably good. The amount of chocolate chunks in that ice cream and the flavor of the ice cream along with the chocolate was so unexpected. I scream itself was also really creamy and smooth and perfectly sweet. We also tried the Midnight Snack flavor. This actually had brown pieces and peanut butterflies and malt balls and it was truly of munchies kind of an ice cream. Definitely would not mind whole pints of these each to go.
We stopped by after a lovely dinner and were excited for ice cream. One of our friends ordered a single scoop, which ended up being larger than my double scoop. When I pointed out that my second scoop seemed a bit light, the server seemed to anticipate my concern and came back with just a little more. However, it still felt like the portion wasn't quite right. While the ice cream itself was delicious, the portion size and service left something to be desired. A little more attention to consistency and customer satisfaction would have made the experience much better.
The staff is amazing She was so helpful and even posed for a picture . They have a special blueberry flavor right now. That is amazing. It has piecrust and fresh blueberries in it. They also have a black raspberry with a chip and the chip is soft so it tastes delicious.. you must try those delicious creamy ice creams It is so worth the calories
As a big ice cream fan, I was excited to try Graeter's in Cincinnati! Although there was a bit of a line, it moved pretty quickly. There was a wide variety of flavors and I ended up choosing the Mocha Chip. It was the perfect combination of coffee ice cream with chocolate chips in a generous scoop. My friend got the Raspberry Chip which she really enjoyed as well.
EXCEPTIONAL COOL TREATS IN CINCY!!! Cincinnati, OH may be famous for its chili and Harambe The Gorilla, but the hidden gem, imho, has gotta be GRAETER'S Ice Cream! Found only in Cincinnati, it has shops scattered all around the city. Supposedly there is a deal in the works (or already in play), according to the lovely lass assisting us today, with Kroger foods to get nationwide distribution! So coming to California?!?! We'll see! I digress though... YUMMY ICE CREAM, OH YEAH! This spot is located right next to the famous Tyler Davidson Fountain in downtown Cincinnati at Fountain Square. Parking is easy, as there is underground parking accessible from Vine Street. Why are we looking at a non-functional fountain (winter season), Family?!? IIICCCCEEE CREEEEEAAAMMM is RIGHT OVER THERE! lol MOVE IT! I NEEDZ to get ma creamy on! BANANA SPLIT: 2 Scoops is the norm, but you can request an additional scoop for an additional charge. First time here, so let's do it! Our flavor selections: BLACK RASPBERRY CHIP, BUTTER PECAN, & CHOCOLATE COCONUT ALMOND CHOCOLATE CHIP. Holay Molay! Their ice cream is DEELISH!!! Must be this "French Pot Process" they use to create their concoctions here, never heard of this process before, but it results in an absolutely flavorful, yet dense cream. Flavors were perfectly spot on. Definitely not skimpy on the add-ins for each flavor we chose as well. What's amazing is their version of "the chocolate chip." Typically you get this hard, tooth cracking dark chocolate flavor for most versions but NOT HERE! Graeter's chocolate chip is crafted to be milk chocolatey in flavor and a soft dense chew similar to a caramel and never the same size. AMAZING! The denseness of the ice cream makes plastic spoons a struggle to use with these scoops! I broke 1 while scooping it up! lol They use pecans as their nut topping and you can choose 2 toppings to add to the yumminess. We got Hot Fudge and Pineapple on the side, because I like to taste the flavor of the Ice Cream more than excessive topping. Oh Boy, did I enjoy this! DOUBLE SCOOP: CHOCOLATE COCONUT ALMOND CHOCOLATE CHIP was the flavor I had to walk out with, after we finished that banana split. It was SOOO good I HAD TO have more before we departed the city. Who cares if it was under 40 degrees outside! Chocolate flavor is so milky creamy and so dense in consistency. Crunchy almonds and coconut shavings in every bite and add those GRAETER's Choc Chips?!? This has GOTTA BE one of my Fave ice cream creations of all time! Yummy YUMMY! VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! Nom Nom level Super High! If you even remotely enjoy ice cream and are visiting Cincinnati, Graeter's has GOTTA be on your list of "must visits!" Enjoy! :)
This will be a short and simple review... I think this is the tastiest ice cream I've ever had in my entire life. One scoop costs about six dollars and you're an absolute dummy if you don't order two scoops for about seven dollars. They have tons of different flavors with lots of add-ins. My wife and I were on a two day trip to Cincinnati and we visited both days. It's a really clean restaurant and the staff was very sweet. Absolutely no complaints.
If you like AMAZING ice cream, then you cannot miss this place while in Cincinnati!!! They have coffee, shakes, donuts and all kinds of sweet treats. However, the main deal here is the ice cream and you will have your work cut out just deciding on the flavors you want. Good Luck :)

A local classic, Graeters delivers your needed ice cream fix if you're willing to wait in long lines. The first time we came yesterday we got the black raspberry chip and mint chocolate cookie in a chocolate waffle cone, and tonight we got the brownie sundae. Serving sizes are average, not necessarily generous, and flavors are your average ice cream shop's offerings. I was surprised by the large chocolate chunks in the ice cream; these aren't little flakes of chocolate but rather dime-sized hunks. Today we were served by the manager, and he was attentive to details and eager to serve, but the young cashier seemed bored and disinterested. read more
Graeters Ice Cream is truly delicious ice cream, on par with the best. Creamy. Intense flavor. Rich. A treat. Could feel my heart slow down :) I had the Double-chocolate Chip. Look forward to trying others. Even in winter, there was a steady stream of ice cream fans like me coming in for a fix. Located in the located downtown in the fountain square/Fifth Third Center $5 for single scoop in a deluxe chocolate cone. PS Don't tell anyone: Came back twice in two days while in town. read more
IN 1 LINE: The best ice-cream you'll ever have (trust me, I'm an ice-cream lover)! This downtown parlor has a great location right in the heart of Cincinnati. FLAVORS: My favorite flavor is the Black Raspberry Chip. The chocolate chunks are made by crushing large chocolate blocks, so you can be surprised by very big bites of rich dark chocolate! My sister's favorite flavor is the Mocha Chip! SEATING: There are high-top tables and chairs offering much room for seating. SOUVENIRS: There are also fun gifts including mugs, hats, t-shirts, playing cards are teddy bears. read more
Graeter's Ice Cream in fountain square is a must go to spot if you're exploring the area and want some authentic Cincinnati flavor! I tried the Peach Boulevard drink for the first time and it was AMAZING! A mix of their peach ice cream, carbonation, and whip cream. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Not a lot of indoor seating but with the whole entire Fountain Square right outside the door you'll have plenty of options and a great city view to enjoy. Great selection of ice cream, shakes, and even pastries; none of it will disappoint! read more

Hi there, thanks for your positive feedback! We are so happy you…
When it comes to peanut butter chocolate chip there is no better ice cream flavor. Being from the Cleveland area and living in Columbus everyone from the Cincinnati area always mentions that Graeters is the ice cream to try. I was traveling for work and decided to check out the hype. I walked in and instantly locked my eyes in on the peanut butter chocolate chip. I wasn't in the mood for much ice cream so I went with only (1) scoop. When I got to the register I was surprised to see that it was almost $5. For the quantity I don't think it was worth the price. The ice cream was good but I wouldn't put it above the Cleveland favorite (Mitchell's) or the Columbus favorite (Jeni's). I would still recommend going to Graeters over any other ice cream shop if you're in the Cincinnati area. read more

Anna, thank you for the positive feedback! We are looking forward to…
Ice cream is my weakness. It's a dessert I always have room for. I meannnnnn....it just slides down so easy! When it comes to ice cream in Ohio, Graeters sets the bar high. With locations all over Cincinnati, we went to the location right at Fountain Square in downtown. They had a good number of flavors to pick from so I was faced with a hard choice. However once I saw Buckeye ice on the menu, it was a no-brainer. I was in the Buckeye state and it had to be done! Their Buckeye ice cream was creamy, not too rich chocolate with big ol' round chunks of peanut butter to satisfy my sweet tooth. Loved it and could have eaten a gallon easily if someone had placed it in front of me. The 'traditional' aka small bowls ran us $4 each which isn't bad at all for such quality and taste. They had some basic tables for us basic bitches to get our grub on and stare out the big windows and interesting happenings on the square. Aside from just the ice cream, this location is full of bagged candies, fun chocolates, nuts and seasonal items. I ended up buying a few boxes of chocolates with a great Cincinnati photo on them to take to friends & family as gifts. read more
Graeter's lived up to its reputation as THE place in Cincinnati to get ice cream. I loved the three Mini-Me sampler cones for $3.95. (See pics). I agree with other Yelpers, Black Raspberry Chip was some of the best ice cream I've ever tasted. Although it was hard to determine the winner beside the mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream; which were also excellent. The shop is clean and has lots of homemade candy. I picked up some pastel gummy bunnies for my son's Easter Basket, while the stockpile of colorful green St. Patty's Day cookies looked awesome. Our scoops were served with a smile and Graeter's proved an excellent ambassador for us tourists getting to know Cincinnati. read more
This is a great ice cream parlor. It is right in the middle of downtown and the amount of flavors is incredible. The ice cream is made fresh and the price is very reasonable. If you are there, make sure you leave room for ice cream after your meal. read more

Visiting the city for the first time I noticed this city staple. I am not an "ice cream " person but when you make great ICE CREAM, I am willing to convert. The flavor was fresh and bold and had me contemplating buying a second... read more
The ice cream is delicious. It is creamy and thick, and melts in your mouth in a unique way that you have to discover for yourself to make sense. The counter staff was extremely helpful, and let me be my indecisive self while I got samples of a few different flavors until I found the one for me. Their famous black raspberry chocolate chip is actually FABULOUS! The mint chocolate chip wasn't the best I've tasted - I prefer more mint. read more

Great Cincinnati icecream establishment!!! These guys kept busy and kept their line moving!!! I got a chocolate peanut butter shake, which was fantastic. So this place blew my mind for one reason. It'll sound stupid, but it's a BIG pet peeve of mine. When I order chocolate icecream "anything", I HAVE IT when a place serves "vanilla-with-chocolate-sauce" icecream rather than CHOCOLATE ice cream. These guys ASKED which way I preferred, one or the other!!! It sounds like a minute, first world problem, but I was VERY HAPPY when I was asked what one of the two I would like. These guys know what they're doing!!! And I'm coming back next time I'm in Cincinnati!!! read more

This has got to be the most successful Graeters location there is, every time I go there is a line, although thankfully it does go pretty quickly. My family and I love Graeter's Ice Cream, my mom boldly states "it is my favorite ice cream In The Whole World!" Graters is always a good idea, whether your from out of town looking for a local gem, or a local looking for a sweet treat. I tried the caramel espresso chiller for the first time and I was not disappointed! Although it's difficult to pass up the traditional, delicious cone. My favorite is buckeye blitz, perfect blend of peanut butter and chocolatey goodness! read more

Ahh Graeters, easily the best part of the Cincinnati region. This Graeters in particular is my favorite solely for the location and service. In terms of location, it is located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati, adjacent to Fountain Square. My friends and I always find us grabbing a dish of ice cream here and heading out to watch one of the weekend concerts. As for service, I have never waited in line more than 3 minutes here. Even when the line wraps around the store, they pump customers in and out quickly. There are also a few tables inside along with a water station which makes it the perfect place to rest. I've also found that this particular Graeters gives much larger portions than other locations. One scoop here is almost double the amount anywhere else. If you're ever in the Fountain Square area, stop on into this Graeters. You won't be disappointed! read more

We're fans. We understand why transplants sing the praises of Graeters, even while in Blue Bell country. Graaters is better. Creamier. Big chunks of chocolate. Interesting flavor combos. No green food coloring in the mint chocolate chip ice cream. It's good. So very good. Good enough we went back a second time - in the rain! On my second trip I tried a pretzel cone because I'd never heard of it before. It was thicker than a normal cone with large salt crystals. I think it would be a good match for a dark chocolate ice cream - it wasn't the best with the sweetness of mint chocolate chip. From our experiences, be prepared for long lines! read more

The ice cream quality is good, not great. Dense and creamy, but slightly icy. Got the blueberry crisp and the bourbon pecan. Would highly recommend those flavors. The waffle cone was just ok. Vanilla-flavored and crisp. Nothing special. read more

Great location (love that it is located on fountain square/Fifth Third Center) and has more of a selection since it is located downtown. I don't think Graeters can go wrong with their ice cream. It is always delicious!!! If it is your first time visiting the Cincy area, this is a must try for those who loves sweets and ice cream! read more
It was my first night in Cincinnati, and a warm one at that. My friends were telling me that I absolutely needed to try Graeter's ice cream (anything with chocolate chips) because it was going to change my life. I accepted the challenge. They had those classic baseball helmet sundaes, so I ordered one of those with mint chocolate chip ice cream. The flavor was pure, and full of win, and the chips themselves were enormous and smooth. Turns out they're actually chips made from chocolate ganache that's fed into the ice cream, so they're more of a truffle consistency. I loved every bite, and service was really friendly despite being a newbie. I even left with the souvenir helmet as an added bonus! I've had a lot of really good ice creams in my time, and Graeter's is up there with the best. The fountain square location is excellent for people and Reds game watching on a warm night like this. I'll definitely be back a few more times before I go, and hopefully I can find it on the shelf of the local Whole Foods! Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 9/10 read more
Great ice cream at reasonable prices! I tried this dessert place for the first time during a business trip and I loved the ice cream there. It is located at the Fountain Square at downtown Cincinnati next to many restaurants and Macy's department store. The dessert place has wide selection of chocolates, candies, shakes, donuts, cakes, ice cream, gelatos and sorbet. I got the two scoops in a cup ice cream and it costs $4.5. The ice cream tasted yummy and there are lots of flavors available. Great finishing after dinner. read more

Thank you for your continued support Ika! We hope you enjoy all of…
Overrated is the word that came to my mind as I finished my ice-cream here. No, it wasn't pathetic at all. But there wasn't a much wow factor either. However, given a choice, I would go for Cold Stone which is few miles away in Newport. It may have a less diverse menu from Graeters but very good quality ice-cream. Ice Cream: In terms of menu, there are some good innovative items on the list and you can definitely try that. We went for Apple Cinnamon Sundae and Affogato. Affogato was actually nice with more of a rum flavor than espresso in an ice cream. Or perhaps it was Bourbon Pecan that was doing the talking. I liked the concept and the end product was good. However, Apple Cinnamon Sundae was more towards "okay" than amazing. None of the above are on their regular menu, so I may have tried a little too much. However, having had a taste of their ice creams from Kroger store, I am more certain about Cold Stone than Graeters. The lady serving us wasn't even aware that Apple Cinnamon Sundae is on their menu. She read through the ingredients on the board behind her and made it. Ambiance: The place was very crowded and remains crowded pretty much all the time because of the legacy. There is much more besides just ice-cream if you want to purchase. They made a good use of napkin holder by placing information about their history and their process of ice cream making over it. The place is a little cramped with a decent seating capacity. But if it is a warm day, you may as well take your ice cream out and enjoy it sitting at Fountain Square itself. Staff: The staff was good, overall. While the lady was clueless about Apple Cinnamon Sundae, the lady at the cash counter quickly jumped in and helped us out to explain to the server what do we want. That was very good. There was a huge crowd but the turnaround time was pretty quick, so not much of a wait there. Overall, it's a good place and worth try. But not so amazing as people here make it sound. read more

Hi Kiki, thanks for stopping by while you were in town! We are so…
The go to place for ice cream in Cincinnati (there's also one in Indy). The flavor to get is Black Raspberry Chocolate Chunk, although there are probably 50 flavors of ice cream and sorbets to choose from. In addition, there are sundaes, shakes, malts, and other frozen drinks and a pretty extensive bakery. Come on a Friday during the Summer and enjoy the concert series right outside the shop at Fountain Square (or ice skating in the Winter). read more
