Seating is available, and there's also a fun merch section with T-shirts, stuffed bears, cups, a cooler, and other little gifts. They also offer to-go chocolates and candy. The flavors were fresh and delicious, and service was very quick. I ordered a mint chocolate cup, and it was scooped and served fast. The only downside was that the server's conversation was inappropriate and made the interaction somewhat awkward. Otherwise, it's a cute stop with good treats and lots of variety.
After having lunch we stopped in for dessert--my first ever Graeter's experience! This is a casual counter-serve ice cream parlor, which also serves some bakery treats and coffee. Service was average--a couple of young people working got the job done; nothing really of note (good or bad). My boyfriend is from the area and has raved about the black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream here for as long as I've known him... and he was right to do so! This ice cream is about as close to perfection as I've ever had (in terms of ice cream). There are big fudgey chocolate chunks throughout and the consistency is super creamy; definitely don't skip this flavor! We also tried a "nectar soda," which to me, seemed like vanilla ice cream with cream soda--it was non-memorable. Graeter's will be a part of every future trip to Cincinnati for this girl--I can't wait to try more flavors!
I came here around 8pm on a Thursday night and was able to order right away. I wanted to try 2 flavors so I got a double scoop with strawberry chip and peanut butter chip. Literally my dream flavors combined. I got a sugar cone and flipped it into a cup since I was walking back to my hotel from there. The ice cream is decadent, rich, smooth, and truly tastes homemade. This place was recommended by my Uber driver. Definitely something I could (but shouldn't) eat regularly, it's that good! I like how they have plenty of classic flavors but also some more unique ones. I think my cone was around $8 total.
Wow! Glad I stumbled upon this place near my hotel. This place is awesome! I had dessert here three times during my several days stay in the city. Staff were warm and welcoming! Clean and pleasant sitting area.
This place really showed up everywhere on lists of places to be dar Cincinnati so could not skip out. We tried a lot of flavors and horse had to get that famous Black Cherry Chocolate Chip. I'm not usually a fan of ice cream that has fruity flavors or any fruity desserts in general. But oh man, this was unbelievably good. The amount of chocolate chunks in that ice cream and the flavor of the ice cream along with the chocolate was so unexpected. I scream itself was also really creamy and smooth and perfectly sweet. We also tried the Midnight Snack flavor. This actually had brown pieces and peanut butterflies and malt balls and it was truly of munchies kind of an ice cream. Definitely would not mind whole pints of these each to go.
We stopped by after a lovely dinner and were excited for ice cream. One of our friends ordered a single scoop, which ended up being larger than my double scoop. When I pointed out that my second scoop seemed a bit light, the server seemed to anticipate my concern and came back with just a little more. However, it still felt like the portion wasn't quite right. While the ice cream itself was delicious, the portion size and service left something to be desired. A little more attention to consistency and customer satisfaction would have made the experience much better.
The staff is amazing She was so helpful and even posed for a picture . They have a special blueberry flavor right now. That is amazing. It has piecrust and fresh blueberries in it. They also have a black raspberry with a chip and the chip is soft so it tastes delicious.. you must try those delicious creamy ice creams It is so worth the calories
As a big ice cream fan, I was excited to try Graeter's in Cincinnati! Although there was a bit of a line, it moved pretty quickly. There was a wide variety of flavors and I ended up choosing the Mocha Chip. It was the perfect combination of coffee ice cream with chocolate chips in a generous scoop. My friend got the Raspberry Chip which she really enjoyed as well.
EXCEPTIONAL COOL TREATS IN CINCY!!! Cincinnati, OH may be famous for its chili and Harambe The Gorilla, but the hidden gem, imho, has gotta be GRAETER'S Ice Cream! Found only in Cincinnati, it has shops scattered all around the city. Supposedly there is a deal in the works (or already in play), according to the lovely lass assisting us today, with Kroger foods to get nationwide distribution! So coming to California?!?! We'll see! I digress though... YUMMY ICE CREAM, OH YEAH! This spot is located right next to the famous Tyler Davidson Fountain in downtown Cincinnati at Fountain Square. Parking is easy, as there is underground parking accessible from Vine Street. Why are we looking at a non-functional fountain (winter season), Family?!? IIICCCCEEE CREEEEEAAAMMM is RIGHT OVER THERE! lol MOVE IT! I NEEDZ to get ma creamy on! BANANA SPLIT: 2 Scoops is the norm, but you can request an additional scoop for an additional charge. First time here, so let's do it! Our flavor selections: BLACK RASPBERRY CHIP, BUTTER PECAN, & CHOCOLATE COCONUT ALMOND CHOCOLATE CHIP. Holay Molay! Their ice cream is DEELISH!!! Must be this "French Pot Process" they use to create their concoctions here, never heard of this process before, but it results in an absolutely flavorful, yet dense cream. Flavors were perfectly spot on. Definitely not skimpy on the add-ins for each flavor we chose as well. What's amazing is their version of "the chocolate chip." Typically you get this hard, tooth cracking dark chocolate flavor for most versions but NOT HERE! Graeter's chocolate chip is crafted to be milk chocolatey in flavor and a soft dense chew similar to a caramel and never the same size. AMAZING! The denseness of the ice cream makes plastic spoons a struggle to use with these scoops! I broke 1 while scooping it up! lol They use pecans as their nut topping and you can choose 2 toppings to add to the yumminess. We got Hot Fudge and Pineapple on the side, because I like to taste the flavor of the Ice Cream more than excessive topping. Oh Boy, did I enjoy this! DOUBLE SCOOP: CHOCOLATE COCONUT ALMOND CHOCOLATE CHIP was the flavor I had to walk out with, after we finished that banana split. It was SOOO good I HAD TO have more before we departed the city. Who cares if it was under 40 degrees outside! Chocolate flavor is so milky creamy and so dense in consistency. Crunchy almonds and coconut shavings in every bite and add those GRAETER's Choc Chips?!? This has GOTTA BE one of my Fave ice cream creations of all time! Yummy YUMMY! VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! Nom Nom level Super High! If you even remotely enjoy ice cream and are visiting Cincinnati, Graeter's has GOTTA be on your list of "must visits!" Enjoy! :)
This will be a short and simple review... I think this is the tastiest ice cream I've ever had in my entire life. One scoop costs about six dollars and you're an absolute dummy if you don't order two scoops for about seven dollars. They have tons of different flavors with lots of add-ins. My wife and I were on a two day trip to Cincinnati and we visited both days. It's a really clean restaurant and the staff was very sweet. Absolutely no complaints.
If you like AMAZING ice cream, then you cannot miss this place while in Cincinnati!!! They have coffee, shakes, donuts and all kinds of sweet treats. However, the main deal here is the ice cream and you will have your work cut out just deciding on the flavors you want. Good Luck :)
I remember liking Graeter's last time I was in Ohio, but tonight I was not impressed with their "flagship" (as per the three cashiers) flavor: Raspberry Chocolate Chip. The chocolate was waxy (more so than Hershey's chocolate bars or the chocolate dipped over soft serve ice cream) and the raspberry ice cream itself was not that creamy and was more bitter than I would prefer. read more

Hi Kristen, thanks for stopping by! We appreciate your kind feedback…
So apparently this is all over the city, so I had to try it while we were at the salsa night. It was pretty good. The line was not long and they let us try all the flavors that we asked. I did cookies and cream and raspberry and chocolate, and it was actually good. They have plenty of sweets and coffee and candy and stuff like that here so if you're into that, fall through. read more
Game over - the best ice cream I've ever had. It is so rich, dense, and creamy. My flavor recs are black raspberry chip, vanilla, and strawberry - but I need to try more too. You can also sample a couple before making a call, and the team is nice about giving the samples out. read more

When visiting Cincinnati for a conference, a local resident mentioned that I must try Graeter's Ice Cream. I was thrilled to find this location across the street from my hotel, by Fountain Square. A couple of friends and I went after dinner, and we sampled several flavors before making our decisions. I was glad that samples were back, giving us a semblance of normalcy in the pandemic. Graeter's serves both unique and classic flavors. I settled on a single scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, and it was rich and delicious. I was sad to finish it. I'm sure Graeter's does an excellent business with concerts and events in the park. I only visited once in Cincinnati, but two of my friends enjoyed it so much that they returned the next night. With so many flavors to try, you can't go wrong. read more

Great service! Street parking, not sure about bathrooms. Inside and outside seating. Limited seating. Fantastic ice cream! I just grabbed a pint because I didn't have time to sit and eat it. GIANT chocolate pieces and delicious flavors and vegan options!! Great service!! Both people at the counter happily answered my questions and helped me make my options and same for the people ahead of me! It was so fun! A great experience and well worth the recommendation! They had so many options on their menu! read more

Yes, yes, yes... this place is delicious!! The smores ice-cream was UNREAL! It was absolutely perfect! Chocolate and marshmallow pieces, and divine flavored ice cream. The cone was fresh, sweet, and also super yummy. Why not 5 stars then? The cotton candy scoop wasn't all that exciting for me. It was just blue sweet icecream, not much of the cotton candy flavor. If I'm in the area again though, I'll definately stop here! read more

A little snow didn't stop us from tasting this yummy ice cream! All of our uber drivers recommended this place so we had to stop by. I ordered the smores ice cream and it was delicious! They have a calendar displayed of the different flavors they will be introducing throughout the year which is nice so you know when to stop by if you're wanting a specific item. read more

"I'm your ice cream man, baby, stop me when I'm passin' by See now all my flavors are guaranteed to satisfy" (Van Halen) Graeter's Ice Cream Fun Facts 1) Their ice cream made its debut via push-carts on the streets of Cincinnati in 1870. 2) It was, and still is, crafted in a French Pot process that yields just 2 1/2 gallons at a time 3) French Pot ice cream is more dense and creamy than regular ice cream. It has a high butterfat content and isn't light or airy. 4) They are famous for their "Signature Chip Flavors" with 14 chip flavors 5) The chips are poured as a liquid and then frozen into the ice cream, The process creates a variety of soft uniquely shaped chips. 6) They have 50 locations across Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Indiana. 7) Besides ice cream, they sell candy, desserts and all sorts of baked goodies. 8) My dish of Toffee Chocolate Chip was one of the best ice creams I've had in a very long time. 9) Graeter's was an awesome place to visit, full of history, tradition, a great atmosphere, a lot of flavors, and outrageously good ice cream. read more

Hello non Cincinnatians traveling here for business, this review is mostly targeted for you! This location is something locals know is great, and as a visitor this is your perfect opportunity to try very high quality ice cream at a reasonable price! On nice evenings, enjoy your choice outside on Fountain Square. If its winter? Youre still going to want to try this! This location on Fountain Square must make a killing and for sure gain some loyal new customers that have traveled into town for business. It is ALWAYS busy, but the staff take that in stride. There is plenty of people to help, let you sample the flavors, and get your final choice out to you quickly. The bakery case and seating area looked a bit like a tornado had gone through on this particular Tuesday evening, but in all fairness it was an hour before closing. I would say the Graeters token flavor is Black Raspberry chocolate chip, which has high quality dark chocolate chips in it. Having whatever flavor on a waffle cone is a must! They have many limited time flavors which are also always good. Most recently I tried the Honeycomb... honey ice cream with a generous amount of crispy honeycomb in it. I didnt expect it to be as amazing as it was! MUST. GET. MORE. If you want some yummy baked goods they have those too, but come early in the day to get the best selection. read more

All the hype I read about Graeter's ice cream is True! So true that we went 2 days in a row on day 1 and 2 in Cincy. Friendly service and delicious creamy yumminess! Black raspberry with chocolate chips in a waffle cone, chocolate almond coconut, and buckeye chocolate were all delicious! Take a look at the seasonal menu inside the store to see what seasonal flavors are available for the month. I'm sure everything is good here! read more

If you come to Cincy than you will most likely hear about Graeter's ice cream and how is a must just like the Cincinnati chili. It's been around for about 150 years and is still being made with this French pot process which makes it creamier and more dense. Their signature flavor is the black cherry chocolate chip which is what my hubby had and he said it was not the best I agree too but was still good . We love ice cream and visiting local ice cream shops is something we love, so we can appreciate the love and tradition being put into. I had pumpkin ice cream and I felt the cinnamon was there but the pumpkin flavor could have been a bit stronger for my taste. They also offer a variety of drinks hot and cold plus baked goods. I bought this pack of twelve butter cookies and chocolates which the kids devoured in two days. read more
