I especially noticed how patient and attentive the staff was as customers looked over the large menu filled with a variety of flavors and options. The staff was incredibly kind, and the manager especially helped make this visit memorable by providing a pup cup for our furry friend. After having lunch we stopped in for dessert--my first ever Graeter's experience! This is a casual counter-serve ice cream parlor, which also serves some bakery treats and coffee. Service was average--a couple of young people working got the job done; nothing really of note (good or bad). My boyfriend is from the area and has raved about the black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream here for as long as I've known him... and he was right to do so! This ice cream is about as close to perfection as I've ever had (in terms of ice cream). There are big fudgey chocolate chunks throughout and the consistency is super creamy; definitely don't skip this flavor! We also tried a "nectar soda," which to me, seemed like vanilla ice cream with cream soda--it was non-memorable. I came here around 8pm on a Thursday night and was able to order right away. I wanted to try 2 flavors so I got a double scoop with strawberry chip and peanut butter chip. Literally my dream flavors combined. I got a sugar cone and flipped it into a cup since I was walking back to my hotel from there. The ice cream is decadent, rich, smooth, and truly tastes homemade. I'm not usually a fan of ice cream that has fruity flavors or any fruity desserts in general. But oh man, this was unbelievably good. My favorite ice cream for the past ~two decades. I was introduced to Graeter's ice cream as a kid when visiting my step-grandmother who lived in Cincinnati. At the time, my parents and I would visit Cincinnati twice a year around Easter and Christmas, and every single time, my step-grandmother would make sure she had Graeter's ice cream stocked up for us. Additionally, we always used to get hot cross buns from Graeter's for Easter as well. We loved it so much that we would bring pints back with us, carefully packed in styrofoam boxes filled with dry ice. That was fun for "science experiments" in the kitchen sink as well! That was before Graeter's became more broadly available in grocery stores, including in Michigan. Loved revisiting a Graeter's store in Cincinnati for the first time in about 15 years. It's just as magical to me! I sampled the black cherry chocolate chip which I love, but ultimately got their salted caramel chocolate chip. Phenomenal. I've also always really loved their mint chocolate chip. Feels more premium that it's not bright (artificially colored) green :).
