Rude customer service and dirty tables…read more Extremely disappointing experience in Montgomery. We walked in and, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, not a single table was clean. There were two tables pushed together, and I separated them so we could sit without taking up more space than necessary. The manager immediately reprimanded me in an incredibly rude, condescending tone, explaining that the tables were antiques. I politely told him he didn't need to reprimand me as a customer. He proceeded to argue with me about the small signs prohibiting moving the tables, sarcastically asking if I rearrange furniture at other restaurants. He continued lecturing me and even suggested that if I visited regularly, I should already know the rules. The irony? Every table was dirty, but apparently moving two tables was the bigger problem. We left without ordering anything. You lost a sale today because of an employee's attitude, and what should have been a quick stop for ice cream turned into a frustrating experience that made us feel completely unwelcome. Antique furniture deserves respect, but so do your customers. We won't be rushing back.

(This is almost like being in Chicago and going to Garrett's popcorn, except having to hop out of the car at the store and then stand in line ...) Patty's reminds me of Garrett's popcorn out of Chicago, but with its own charm. You can see them making/mixing the popcorn behind the counter. Unlike Garret's they have a huge variety of candy. The employees were friendly and the person (manager?), opened a bag of cheese corn in order to give me a sample. The sample was beyond generous. Finally a popcorn place that has wet cheese! I was super impressed and walked out with their largest bag of cheese corn, some cheesy grippo's popcorn and the Chicago mix. My family from Chicago were all impressed with the mix. The chessy Grippos was spicy and fine, but not my style. I brought a bag of the Chicago Mix back after two weeks to the wife. It was still fresh enough and disappeared quickly. I look forward to my next visit to Cincinnati and stealing away from the family to get some of this great popcorn.
