Advent Calendar: I have to confess that I've had an Advent calendar every Christmas for most of my…read morelife and intend to keep getting one for every Christmas season to come. An Advent calendar is essentially a countdown to Christmas beginning on December 1st and lasting until December 24th. There are 24 numbered "doors" or "windows" to open. Behind each one is a piece of chocolate (usually Christmas themed). Popping the chocolate into my mouth each year instantly brings me back to the best Christmases of my childhood. Typically, I opt for a more Christmas themed image, but being the Star Wars fan that I am, I was gifted with a Grogu stylized one from The Mandalorian. This particular calendar is distributed in the U.S. by Galerie Candy, and I believe the chocolate is made by Jean-Talon Chocolate in Canada. My only minor complaint is it seems like a wasted opportunity to not make the chocolates into various shapes from the Star Wars universe (ships, characters, weapons), they are instead the same shapes found in other Jean-Talon Chocolate Advent calendars. Luckily, that means they also have the same great nostalgic taste and are Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews

Pretty good. Had to find a local carniceria for carne asada. This place was just what I needed. The…read moremeat I got was good. There's a lot here you won't find in your local grocery stores. I'm from AZ so Mexican food is a must and I'm cooking it more at home now that I've moved here. The butcher was impatient and not super helpful but I got what I needed and the cashier was very sweet. I love the spice aisle. I'll definitely be back to browse those to make a good enchilada sauce. I wish they had a few more marinated meat options but overall I'm happy with the meat selection. I look forward to trying the others for tacos, burritos and anything else to curb my Mexican food addiction. The price was also decent for what you get. I'll be back real soon!

This place is a real gem hidden away for Mexican goodies and produce. I was elated when I found…read morethis place. I can get large jars of Valentina for $3 or less. 10 limes for a dollar. But watch out, at peak times certain things like avocados fly out the door fast. You can also find somewhat rare produce like chayote and more well known like cactus, cactus fruit, and Calamondin Limes (this time of year right now). I also love it because they have tons of cuts of meat and the fresh peppers are always cheap. Stop in and surprise yourself with good meat that's fresh and affordable and some other great finds. The only thing I was a little disappointed with, you can only buy a VERY large can of hominy (any kind) no small cans here. I'm speaking restaurant size. I love making pozole but even that may be too much for me. Though technically hominy freezes well and I could recan it into smaller portions. So I may go back and nab some up. I see they also do prepare food but haven't gotten any of that myself. So not sure how to order that, but I never spend more than 15 minutes in the grocery. Anyway, you won't be let down, it's a great find! Oh and to help you find it on dream street, it's across from Chipotle's. Which I do hear that particular Chipotle's isn't very good, just an FYI.

For most people who haven't tried a cured ham, they will find it a bit salty. The longer the ham…read morecures, the saltier. That being said, once you learn how to navigate around this unfamiliar and I should mention large chunk of meat and bone, the more your going to love it. There are ways to remove the salt. It will be saltier but that's part of the taste you will learn to enjoy. It's the seasoning you never knew you needed in Ham and Bean soup, Ham and Egg Omelets, Eggs Benedict and many other dishes. There is enough ham to last for quite a while once it's boiled or baked. I like boiling best for long cured ham. It removes more salt. Once done, it's cut into slices or chunks for sandwiches, soups and other dishes and frozen in portions to get out of our freezer any time we want. One of my favorites ways to eat it is to bake some slices in a water and brown sugar sauce. It compliments the saltiness of the ham. Ham candy! I went to visit my cousin who lives near Crescent Springs Kentucky. I got my last cured ham from Blue Grass Quality Meats in Crescent Springs Kentucky. Believe me, I will be back again. Thanks for doing all the hard work. I'm doing the easy work. Eating it. Alan Zumbach

If they had been quality parts of slices i would have been happy but these were very much scrap, large bones and fatty areas. i will not continue to buy your products if this is normal practice. The quality of your ham should sell itself and not packaging tricks.
