The staff of young kids working here were superb, with bright smiles and quick, thoughtful service. I have a single sugar cone ice cream and recommend the Black Raspberry which was excellent. Great ice cream, so many interesting flavors. We were on vacation and were told we had to go to Graeter's! We are glad we did! The restaurant itself was very new and beautiful. We were there before lunch so it wasn't busy at all. I'm sure it is crazy busy later in the day. There is plenty of room and it is very clear where to go to order and then where to pick up your order. Unless you are just getting ice cream. I loved the special play area for the kids. They will let you sample the French Pot Ice Cream flavors if you ask about the flavors! I love ice cream and on a trip to Kentucky and Ohio, it was recommended that I try Graeter's. We ended up at this location. The staff was so friendly! They let me try all of the flavors I wanted (and there were a lot). It was so nice to be able to get a sample because it's always hard to decide when I don't know what they taste like. The ice cream itself was only okay. It wasn't super flavorful and I tend to prefer a creamier ice cream. This one seems to taste like it had ice pieces in it. I likely wouldn't choose Graeter's as my ice cream of choice in the future, but would recommend this location to anyone who enjoys it because the staff was awesome! read more

Anyone travelling to or through the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky way.....believe the hype! Stopped in on the advice of Every. Single. Local. I splurged huge and ordered the Brownie Sundae with the Dutch Milk Chocolate ice cream.....with nuts, whipped cream and cherry....Yes Please! The ice cream was decadent on its own, rich enough that I really didn't need the rest of the Sundae back up ingredients. Yep.....just lock me away with a cup of this stuff (I wouldn't trust myself with a pint) oh and maybe a spoon....Small batch quality with simple good wholesome deliciousness! Oh and the store is adorable, with baked goodies and a staff of young people who's Mamas raised em up right. I've gotta say that all of the young people I've encountered in this area are raised with manners! This is a great Graeter's location! The shop is clean, staff is friendly and very helpful! We love sampling before picking a flavor we have never tried! The sample of the flavor of the month of February cherry chocolate chip sold Vera, Adrianna and me! All three of us ordered a double dip waffle cone with a dip of cherry chocolate chip which is like a frozen cherry cordial and a dip of our family favorite black raspberry chip! Maverick has tree nut allergies and a peanut allergy so we always order him a prepackaged pint of ice cream just to be safe from any cross contamination of scoops! So, stopped in yesterday afternoon for some donuts (sour cream dunkers and cake w/chocolate icing) unfortunately they were out, but understandable, and the guy I spoke with was super nice, we talked and I said I could come back today and he said he would definitely have some for me. Let me start by saying the whole store looked super clean both times i was there...HUGE A+! This morning the whole place smelled like bakery....that caused 2 donuts to be missing when I got home I had to lie and say I only bought 10 The 2 people ( same guy & a lady) were clean, smiling, and happy to be there! It was ok. I loved that they were open late. I needed to tell my bf what I wanted but the menu was a bit confusing. I understand there's some seasonal items so I was going based on the website and the yelp menu pics. One said there were strawberries as a topping option, the other didn't. Same with a few of the regular ice cream flavors. So I ended up texting him a few options. They tried to give him our to go order without lids. Which was odd but luckily they had some when he asked. I got the banana split with peanut butter ice cream and the Buckeye blitz ice cream and strawberries as the topping. Could've used more strawberries considering I doubled that topping but it was ok. Graeter's has my all-time favorite ice cream flavor: black raspberry chocolate chip. Just trust me and try it. It's sweet but not over-the-top, and the chocolate is top-notch. And really, "chip" is not an accurate description as some of the chocolate bits are quite large -- large and delightful. All of Graeter's ice cream is denser than other ice creams in my opinion. My boyfriend tells me that this is because there is not as much air whipped into this ice cream as compared with other brands. And if you try to buy it in grocery stores, the price bears this out. But I can attest to the fact that this delicious ice cream is worth the added expense. And this store in particular really impressed me. The staff was friendly and patient with the long line people hemming and hawing over what they should try. The store includes candy and cookies, if you're not feeling in a particularly ice cream-y mood, and it has an outdoor seating area and drive-through. If I lived near this Graeter's it would be a regular stop for me. On second thought, it's probably better for my health that I don't. When I heard that Graeter's had a limited edition Black Raspberry chip donut available at their bakeries, I knew I needed to make a trip up there and see if it was any good or not. I didn't really know that Graeter's made donuts, but apparently, it's only a Cincinnati and surrounding areas thing. I called them up and they put one to the side alongside a random assortment of other donuts. My fear was that their donuts weren't going to live up to their ice cream (which it never could), but still, their donuts were great! I would say that my second favorite donut I had their was the Black Raspberry chip donut, which tasted like the ice cream flavorwise (First was the sour cream)! I tried all the donuts and felt like a pig eating them all, but there wasn't really a bad one in the bunch! I hope I can make it back here again. These were definitely worth a trip. read more

The 1870 Tower What Is It: Its a chocolate bundt cake, topped with black raspberry chip ice cream, hot fudge, pecans, and a cherry. Presentation: It comes in a circular, clear plastic bowl which was perfect for setting up the "tower". Looks really good. 8 out of 10 Taste: Well this was one of their signature things so they pulled out all the stops. The black raspberry ice cream was the dominant flavour here but that was a good thing. The cake is very rich and the strong flavour of the ice cream helps break that a bit. Any proper sundae is topped with hot fudge sauce, pecans and of course a cherry. If you want a rather elaborate sundae then give this a try. Just make sure you're ok with blavk raspberry flavour first. 8 out of 10 read more

Amazing food and really friendly staff. They have a lot of different candy and pastries as well as an amazing selection of ice cream.

I'm sorry, I guess its just a regional thing (like Ben and Jerry's in Vermont) but I just do not see the big deal with their ice cream. Yes, its frozen cream and sugar with a filling and or flavor, but in my fat butt book, they have NOT reinvented the wheel. Where Grater's excels far past the ice cream is two fold. First is their bakery products. I have not found anything that I would never have again. The cookies, cake slices and pastries are all VERY good... like 5 stars good. Word of caution... late in the day selection can be quite limited and I have learned while stopping by there in the afternoon before going into work. The other area of excellence that Grater's exceeds in is the hospitality of the employees. I have yet to interact with someone who is less than professional. Then again, working in a place that serves mostly good and guilty pleasure foods, that could be the reason. read more

Absolutely amazing! Though a bit pricey, the flavor, texture, and experience are worth every cent. My most recent venture here was to celebrate my graduation baccalaureate. Service: Everytime I've gone, the workers have been uber polite and genial. They take food allergies very seriously and will take every precaution if you have one. The store itself is kept clean and tidy and has a homey, family feel. Hand-dipped ice cream: Nothing beats their famous ice cream in a waffle cone. The Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip is by far the most popular flavor, with sweet blackberry and huge chips. The Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip has tons of tasty dough bites and chips spread throughout (one of my all-time favorites). The Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownie's brownie bites are soft and chewy for a rich chocolate taste. The Maple Cinnamon Crunch is great as well; you can definitely taste the cinnamon in the shortbread cookie pieces, though I wish the maple was a tad stronger. Cakes and Pies: I've only tried the Black Raspberry Chip Pie. The chocolate crumb crust wonderfully matches the creamy whipped topping and sweet chocolate sauce, making the already-perfect black raspberry ice cream so much more. read more
