My hubby and I went here for the fist time and we will be going back. The service was great, the food was very fresh. My hubby got the N.Y. Steak and potatoes he said the potatoes were very fresh and the steak was good. I got the enchilada plate everything tasted homemade and fresh. Very happy with this place. The portions are very generous. It is pricer than other Mexican places out here but it's worth the extra money for the great quality of food. read more

The food is fine, nothing to get too excited about though. I ordered two two-item Mexican plates. I liked the chili relleno because it was different and it was nice to not have an over-battered chili with minimal cheese. The stuff it with cheese and veggies and then top it with a cream sauce, that was nice. The enchiladas were okay; the tortilla was very dry and the inside was fine. The taco looked to be promising but they included it in the to-go box next to the enchilada so when I got home after my 5 minutes drive, the shell was soppy. I figured the small box was where the put the taco but they put the chili relleno in it which didn't seem right because it would've been in the box next to an enchilada and they're both "wet" foods. Anyways, for $21.95 it wasn't really worth it but I think the place could have potential with some tweaks. read more

For a dozen years, my wife and I stopped here on the way many mornings to visit a friend at the nearby "state correctional institute." Tough as that was, we looked forward to the breakfasts and after a disappointing meal the first time we went to Tehachapi at the kitschy Apple Barn, we found this Mexican restaurant on the outskirts of town off the 58 from Mojave towards Bakersfield, just west of where the Love's truckstop/McDonalds was then built a few years later. I think we just took a chance and that was all it took. I hope people take that first exit rather than the main ones further on into town, for on the other side of the railroad tracks, this little family place makes the best home fries and breakfast burritos (I always had a vegetarian one) I have had. The owners are the family and they were always gracious, no matter how early Saturday or Sunday morning. There's also a counter if you want to chat and watch the t.v., but I have a feeling that's for special local pals! read more

We found this spot on yelp, wanted mexican food. Has a local vibe. Not a huge mexican menu but what they have is sooooo good. Husband got chile rellano/taco combo and was surprised because its not in coating but there is some kind of queso over it that is yummo. Carne asada burrito is huge. The chips/salsa a little bland but good. Thumbs up! read more

Fast service, huge variety of menus items and types of food. The service was fast and prices better than most places we have been to recently. We both ordered Mexican combo plates, which were good and cost just under 20$ each. read more

This was a good find. The food needed seasoning but was cooked well. They also had a good pour on the wine.

Not impressed! We only came here last night because The Apple Shed was getting ready to close and The Red House BBQ is closed on Tuesday. I got a vegetarian pasta. The veggies were good but the whole dish lacked flavor. It needed something....garlic or cream sauce? My husband had honey pork chops which were large and fairly flavorful but tough. I thought the food was a little overpriced, too. read more

My husband and I eat here often. My hubby always orders the chili rellenos combo plate with more beans then rice. I usually try something different each time. Great service, staff and food. The restaurant is always very clean, the owner usually comes to our table to say hello and asks how everything was. I hope Gracian's stays in business for many more years! read more

I don't understand how this restaurant got 5 stars, but then again it is tehachapi, and there's not much to choose from and not much to compare to. they have no good restaurants to compare it to. when you walk in, the kitchen is right there in front of you as soon as you walk in the front door. There's not even a bar or anything, and they only serve wine and beer. we rite away also noticed all four employees. We know that we were there between lunch and dinner, but we didn't expect to be the only customers in the place. the decor was very dated, to say the least. Very clean however, especially the bathrooms. the waiter was the owner, which was awkward, & right off the bat spoke to me in Spanish, as if I knew what the hell he was saying! It was really awkward. And he continued this throughout the meal. which brings me to another point, this is supposedly a steakhouse, but they serve Mexican food and Italian food. I'm not used to that one......lol. we're from l.a.,so we KNOW GOOD FOOD. my boyfriend ordered a 20 ounce steak, and he has made much better steaks for me at our house on the grill. this is even after the owner bragged about the steak, which was just okay, and he also told my boyfriend that he was not going to need steak sauce. he said my boyfriend didn't need steak sauce, and sure didn't offer up any. I ordered a pasta dish, which it said came with potatoes, and he told me that I didn't need all the extra carbs, basically. Wow. I ordered garlic chicken fettuccini or something like that. The chicken was tough and there was absolutely no garlic in it. I've also never been served fettuccine with mushrooms in it before. It also tasted like it came out of the freezer bag and thrown in the microwave. other than that, I've had worse but I've also had a lot lot better. as soon as they get their liquor license, I will come back only for a margarita, or whatever the hell it is you have at a Mexican / Italian / Steakhouse!! read more

Overall I think the best restaurant in this small town. The place is old and worn but the food is excellent. In my opinion they have the best steaks in town. Their chorizo and eggs are the best I've had anywhere. You won't leave hungry, that's a given. This has been an eating establishment for many, many years. It used to be the Cattlemen's but that's another story. When the new owner took the place over there was a lot to overcome but he had a great reputation and things prevailed well for him. The place as I said is old and a bit run down but the quality of the food speaks for itself. This has become one of the most favored places for the old timers in Tehachapi. Their food is outstanding. The ambience not so much. I wish they could dress it up with more cowboy, western and vaquero decor but it is what it is. It certainly has a great old feel to it like the vintage railroad sheds in town. Definitely worth trying if you're passing through town. Located on Tehachapi Blvd. where you can come off at Tucker or Monolith and catch the freeway in either direction when you leave. read more

I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning after driving past the other places on Tehachapi Blvd. going east with the sun in my eyes. I am glad I found this place in the glare. I had the huevos rancheros. They were delicious and reasonably priced. The place was quiet. The service was attentive and and good company while I ate. I will be back. read more

The BEST chili rellanos ever! Discovered these very different rellanos and won't eat the standard egg battered and fried ever again. They are a poblano chili stuffed with Mexican cheese and some veggies and topped with a very tasty cream sauce. Absolutely delish. I always order two and they have always been perfectly tasty.
