My friends and I were looking to day trip somewhere while I was visiting the Bay Area so that we can do something all day. We were originally going to come to Napa later in the day but after running across this place for Brunch we really couldn't chose to do anything else. Granted I really looked at this place because of my name, but on top of that they had so many great reviews and a menu, we really couldn't look at any other place. They do not take reservations for brunch on Saturday and Sunday but they do take reservations for other times on Yelp, so it's super convenient. We arrived around 10am on Saturday morning. We only had to wait about 15 mins before we were seated. I think we came at an optimal time, because after we were seated then the line of people waiting got super long. I guess people were sleeping in a bit, meanwhile we've been driving from Berkeley since 830am. Our server was great, super nice and attentive, but there were so many other people in the restaurant checking in on us and clearing the table. Two of us got the chillaquilles and one got the eggs benedict for brunch. We also order the small order of corn bread - which they are known for. I couldn't resist and had to get onion rings as well. I know - what the heck? The onion rings were great, the kind I like with breading not batter. It was nice and crisp The other food we ordered was great. We really enjoyed our time at the restaurant too. Parking is available on the street and in a few lots around the area. read more

This restaurant is amazing! I went with my boyfriend and we both ordered 2 different salads and mimosas. I got the seared tuna salad, the dressing was a lemon pesto and had a mild taste to it. There was cherry tomatoes arugula, olives, green beans, and a friend poached eggs that had a panko like crust. All the flavors together were super yummy! It's a very cute brunch place but the food is just okay. If you're a foodie, I would skip. We ordered fruit with goat cheese and honey and gravlax. The ingredients were fresh but felt a bit underwhelming due to under-seasoning. It's probably a good place for a regular boozy brunch, but also not particularly tasty or memorable. read more

Graces table is located on a quaint corner in downtown napa. My girlfriend and I ordered a hot and iced coffee to start, which was excellent and had a strong kick to it. From there, she ordered the chilaquiles while I tried out the cinnabon and bagguette. The chilaquiles were savory and definitely flavor packed, but they werent the best i've had in napa valley and there seemed to be something missing. While the cinnabon was soft and tasty, they included raisins which I didn't like. Additionally, the glaze on top of the cinnabon was not my favorite. The bagguette dish was nice, but i wasnt a fan of their strawberry jam, and the apple sauce was an awkward pair with this dish. Overall, Graces Table provided decent food, but I think there was a lot left to be desired. read more

This place is great for brunch, yes, but this place is ALSO an amazing dinner spot. Great service, ambiance is charming. The food is incredible. I love their cornbread with lavender butter. I dream of having a restaurant like this, farm to table, charming and sweet. When the weather is nice they also open up a wall so it feels like an indoor/outdoor feel. read more

I still need to make time to come in and enjoy a dine in experience at Grace's table! I have only ever gotten take out as I work right around the corner so it's super convenient to call in and pick up. I've had two things from here so far. I have had their burger which was juicy and flavorful. I have had their beet salad quite a few times. It's definitely one of the best beet salads I have ever had. From what I see, just walking in for take out, the staff is all very nice and friendly. Definitely need to make time to dine in soon! read more

This was my second time visiting Grace's Table. My first experience was years ago. Let's start with the positives. The place is pretty and super close to other restaurants, cafés, tasting rooms, and shops downtown. The staff is professional, upbeat, and helpful. Now, onto the negatives. While the ingredients are fresh and sustainable, etc., the food is not seasoned...no salt, no pepper, and not a lot of flavor. The worst part...the price!! There were two of us. We got the two-piece side of cornbread, one iced tea, and two orders of the hash (beautiful presentation.) The total with the tip was almost $80! That's extreme for breakfast. The place has a huge following. I was surprised we got in without a reservation. I probably won't be going back because the flavor of the food does not match the price, which was the reason I hadn't been there in over four years. I prefer the chorizo breakfast burritos next door at Monday Bakery, but to each their own. read more

We ordered roast chicken, cassoulet, two kinds of salad, pumpkin soup and creme brulee. Every dish was exquisitely prepared. As other reviewers have pointed out, the crispy skin of the chicken was delightful. We had an exceptional serving host, Audrey. She gave us patient, honest and accurate information to each of our questions, and very good recommendations regarding our choices. She is attentive, mindful and courteous -- definitely stands out as a restaurant personnel. Restaurant atmosphere was casual elegant. Menu prices were very reasonable. Great food, great prices. Kids menu +++. Shrimp fritters = rich with flavor Pork belly = perfectly roasted paired with a seared peach to cut the fat Empanada = awesome. Little bits of steak in every bite with fresh parsley finely minced garlic olive oil sauce Roasted beets = served with goat cheese, avicados, marinated onions OMG it's perfect. Tamale = ours ate a little dry. We saw it was popular as several tables around us were enjoying it. Interesting spin to layer cabbage slaw over it which helped to add the much needed moisture to the outer dried masa. I guess it just needed to be packed a bit thinner. I'm just used to eating tiny east LA style with delicious cheese oozing out of every side. Kids enjoyed the Mac n cheese and tenders. Stopped in for lunch, lots of classic choices (sole meunière, osso bucco, roasted chicken, cassoulet). Also several nice starters, a couple of southwest dishes, a burger and a sandwich. All with a gourmet spin, a menu that's genuinely exciting in its details. (I'd like to try one dish a day for a week!) I opted for the sole meunière with lentils and capers, and the famous corn bread and honey butter as a side. The sole was a generous serving with a heavy sear, strong flavored from capers and garlic but it was a little too salty. The cornbread is eggy and soft, almost pudding-like. Delicious and rich with the honey butter slathered on it. Overall I thought the salty strong flavored sauce overwhelmed the delicate sole a bit, but I would come back again, with pleasure. read more

I've been to this restaurant twice before and both times it was great. This time was very disappointing. Went for brunch. The chilaquiles were nothing but tortillas. All the things they claimed on the menu were part of it were no where to be found. The pulled pork tacos were good but not great. The empanada was average. The tri color beet salad was delicious. The cornbread was also very good but did not get any hint of lavender. The blood mary, while claiming to be spicy, was bland and really could not tell there was any alcohol in it. I was very upset because I bragged to my friends about the restaurant and none of them were impressed. And for the amount charged I would have expected better. I would have given it lower than a 3 for this visit, but my last two visits were good. read more

This is a Michelin Recommended restaurant but should really be a Michelin Star restaurant! We loved everything about the food - presentation, flavors, portion size, etc. We started with the burata and peach appetizer - it was so refreshing, we wanted more! The eggs benedict had the most deliciously creamy hollandaise sauce. The tamale was nicely presented and packed with flavors you wouldn't think they'd be able to pull off. And finally, the burger was juicy with an overflowing pile of fries that we just couldn't get enough of. I feel like this is one of those rare gems that you won't be disappointed with anything on them menu. Must try! read more

Was there celebrating my wife's birthday with some friends who are Napa locals. I wanted someplace delicious, interesting, and good for families(we have a five year old). Grace's table delivered on all of that. After wanting everything on the menu, I decided on the Iron Skillet Cornbread with Lavender Butter and the Cassoulet. Holy sh*t don't miss the f*cking cornbread. It's absolute poetry. I wish I had a pic for you but I absolutely destroyed it. Literally one of the best things I've ever eaten. After considering the Kobe burger and the pork Osso Bucco, I decided on the Cassoulet. All of the major food groups were represented here: Duck confit, pork Shoulder, boudin blanc sausage, garlic sausage, butter beans, garlic bread crumbs. It was a "warm blanket on the couch watching Netflix while it rains" kind of dish. Pretty epic. Based on my experience I can tell that Chef is in the kitchen on the late-night respecting the classics but thinking up twists that will make me daydream about his food. My family's first time having brunch at Grace's Table in Napa, and I wish I would've found this place sooner! Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, excellent experience. Tables fill up fast so either get a reservation or be willing to wait a little bit. If you have to wait, just wait...it's worth it. I ordered the chiliquiles...it was bomb! Tasted fresh, and the fresh avocado was excellent! Portion size was perfect for brunch. Definitely keeps you filled until dinner time. I also ordered the strawberry muffin. I originally wanted a blueberry muffin but they had ran out. Muffin was still good, but I should've asked if they could warm it up. I think it would have tasted better warm. Overall, great experience, great food, and great establishment! Definitely will be coming back! Hopefully they'll have some blueberry muffins next time. read more

Came here last Friday for a 6:30 PM dinner reservation. My fiance and I got to the restaurant 20 min earlier but there were tables opened so we got seated (great). However, that's when things started to turn south. Firstly, we asked for water with no ice, but the waiter came back with water with ice. Usually not a big deal, but since it is Grace's table, I had high expectation on the service so that didn't feel too good. Secondly, my fiance ordered the chicken and I ordered a medium rare burger. 10 min later I saw the waitress carried the orders out and I was thinking, oh great, time to eat. Well, first, she went to one table, and noticed it was not for them. Then she went to a SECOND table, and the customer told the waitress that they didn't order those dishes. After slight confusion, the waitress actually LEFT the order of the chicken on the customer's desk, and carried the plate of burger back inside to figure out who ordered the dish. Few min later the waitress carried the same plate of burger and placed on my table, while we were still waiting for the plate of chicken. What I saw next was COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I saw the waitress went back to the SECOND table, took that plate of chicken back, and just brought it over to our table. She didn't even check if the food was touched or anything. She also didn't even think about bringing it back into the kitchen to reheat. While I had nothing against the customers at the second table, what if they were chatting and some spit went into the food? Our order was on their table for a good few min. Thirdly, my burger was cooked medium to medium well. I could tell because the burger was completely dry, and not a speck of pink within the meat. Also, the fries were just, bad. They were somewhat cold, and didn't even feel like they were fried long enough. At that point I just wanted to finish the meal and leave. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars . Safety first, noone was wearing masks , even the servers . Also , people were packed , about 2 feet from eacother , see the pic . When we got our table , it was on a huge slant , one of our waters fell off the table. I asked the waiter if he could fix it, and he brought me a coaster . I told him not to worry and I'll fix it myself , and tore the coaster into four pieces and put it under the leg , see pic . Our breakfast plates were already horrible . I ordered the cage free eggs special, and all i got were two not fully scrambled but runny eggs and 2 bland sausages . Nothing had seasoning . Delicious food and amazing service. The soup of the day, a variation of French Onion, was perhaps too mild, but the cornbread, beet salad, pork belly, cassoulet, and dessert cake were incredible. I called and tried to cancel a reservation a few hours before we were going to arrive. I was told that they charge us 20$ per person to cancel the reservation within 48 hours. I said never mind I will just show up and not order anything then. They the responded that they would not seat us. Bay Area and had heard plenty of positive reviews, so we were genuinely excited to finally try it. One thoughtful touch is that La Cheve provides umbrellas for guests waiting in line, which is especially appreciated when you're standing outside under the sun. It's a small gesture, but one that shows the restaurant has put some thought into making the waiting experience a little more comfortable. They also offer the option to order coffee through a QR code while waiting in line. I ordered a large black coffee, while my partner ordered a café con leche. Unfortunately, it took about 25 minutes for the drinks to be ready. When we picked them up, the café con leche was served in the same large cup as my coffee--but it was only half full, with roughly a quarter cup of coffee and another quarter consisting of foam. It felt odd drinking from a large half-full cup. Once we reached the counter, though, we were greeted with a warm smile, which was appreciated. We ordered the chilaquiles with an addition of Al Pastor meat, the asada and eggs, the concha French toast, a cronut, the house lager, and a local craft beer. it took approximately an hour and a half from the time we got in line until we were finally seated. By that point, we were more than ready to eat, and despite the long wait, we were still excited to see what the kitchen could do. Unfortunately, that excitement faded quickly once the food arrived. The concha French toast was a big disappointment. The menu description had immediately caught our attention, and we expected something that combined the richness and texture of French toast with the distinctive character of a concha. Instead, we received four small, shortcake-style pieces of bread that were dry and didn't particularly resemble either French toast or a concha. There was no noticeable cinnamon-egg batter, nor any powdered sugar. The dish was served with fresh berries and a side of cajeta ( a craft caramel sauce). The caramel itself was delicious, but it wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster bread. The chilaquiles were the biggest disappointment, and unfortunately, this dish had several execution issues altogether. The tortilla chips were soggy, lacking the texture you'd expect from well-executed chilaquiles. I also ordered the dish with Al Pastor meat, hoping to get a taste of the restaurant's house adobo. Instead, what arrived was a measly portion of tiny pieces and crumbs of meat that appeared to be mostly the remnants from the bottom of the pan. Then there was the oil. There was an excessive amount of it-- so much that a pool had collected in one corner of the plate (see picture below). I actually had to ask the server for extra paper napkins so I could soak up the oil. It was difficult to appreciate the pastor's seasoning or adobo from the oily portion that I was served. The eggs were another example of inconsistency with this plate. I specifically ordered them over medium, expecting set whites with a warm, runny yolk. Instead, the eggs were cooked very unevenly. One was noticeably overcooked, while the other was so thoroughly cooked that the yolk had essentially been obliterated. For a dish that relies on relatively simple ingredients, getting something as fundamental as the eggs right should be a given. My partner's asada and eggs wasn't terrible, per say. However, the dish consisted primarily of bell peppers, a blob of melted cheese, and some asada meat-- the kind you get with regular asada tacos. On the other hand, the biscuits that accompanied the dish, were a genuine highlight. We particularly enjoyed the jalapeño and cheese filling, which gave them a nice savory kick. Thankfully, the bakery items and beer showed us where La Cheve really shines. The house lager was crisp, refreshing, and very enjoyable, while the cronut was downright scrumptious. These were the kinds of items that reminded us why we had been so excited to visit in the first place. Ultimately, La Cheve feels like a restaurant with two very different personalities. The bakery side is impressive, while the savory kitchen needs considerably more attention to execution and consistency. If I were judging the bakery alone, I'd happily give it around 4.5 stars The cronut, biscuits, caramel, and house beer all showed plenty of promise. But the brunch dishes need work--particularly when it comes to texture, portioning, cooking temperatures, and consistency. We came in eager to understand what had generated so much enthusiasm for La Cheve. There are certainly some very good things happening here, and thoughtful touches like the umbrellas for guests waiting in line make a difference. But based on our visit, the kitchen still has some significant kinks to work out before the savory menu matches the promise of the bakery.

We are regular people. We don't dress fancy or have high expectations. This is the second time we have visited Grace's Table. This seems to be one of the only places in Napa that serves breakfast. We did our research like most folks that look at Yelp prior to visiting a local restaurant. The ratings look well within our standards. We decided to give it another try. We called ahead to make a reservation for breakfast and walked over. When we arrived the place was empty as you would expect for a reservation when they first open. We were seated as we walked in. The place filled quickly. It would be helpful to know, Grace's breakfast menu is more of a brunch menu and we knew that going in via there website. The kids menu doesn't have any breakfast food on it. Then we waited and waited and waited, there were only three other tables to wait on and two servers. After about 10 minutes, one of their servers took our order. We decided to group our food in with our coffee order because it looked like this might be one of those slower paced vacation type places. We also took a secondary precaution and orded a bloody mary to ease the wait. Here we go again. Wait, wait wait, wait, quietly and patiently. 20 -25 minutes later the coffee came out. Good coffee but enjoy the first cup because they do not refill or even ask you again if you would like another. I would not recommend a second cup unless you have another half hour. 10 minutes later our breakfast made an appearance. I wasn't expecting a trucker special, but the serving size of the potatoes was more of a plate decoration. Get a side of toast too if you like that with your eggs, it doesn't come with it. Oh yea do yourself a favor and ask for salt and pepper on the initial order as there aren't any on the tables. Did I mention we ordered a bloody mary? Still MIA. I finished my breakfast and moved on to finishing my son's. I will have to say the eggs benedict is pretty tastey, mainly because of the homemade-style english muffin from a local bakery. After finishing my last few bites of breakfast, they found my bloody mary. I refused it which confused our server, who we think may have been the owner. They did take it off the bill. Came here with my Wife and mother on my birthday. We came on the recommendation of a good friend and wine maker. The restuarant is very clean and the staff is very nice. Our waiter was very nice. The lady that sat us not so friendly like a Alcatraz guard. We brought our friend's wine and the corkage fee was $10 but the waiter did not disclose that until we received the bill. I had a gnocci, my wife had the special that night short ribs on a bed of garlic mashed potato with asparagus, and mom had fish. The fish dish had burnt garlic and the skin of the fish was not cooked and "was like eating a rubber band" was my mom's description. My wife's dish was watery no flavor mashed potatoes and very undercooked asparagus. The short ribs looked like beef stew and not on the bone. I also had the empanada and the ladies had salads as appetizers. My mom had the beet salad and that was not too bad. Overall we spent over $100. Terrible experience!! Everyone was turned off by there food and did not finish eating. I had a reaction to the food and began to feel short of breath. The food just fell short of expectations and especially when we could have gone to any Yountville high end restaurant. The night before we had dinner at Hurley's in Yountville and my wife's dish was almost the same but fantastic. She had there the grilled sole Fish on a bed of Basil Mashed potatoes with asparagus. I would like to start by saying that the FOH (Front of House) staff are exceptionally nice and friendly. However, when it comes to the food, it left much to be desired. I began my meal with an appetizer, opting for the cornbread. It was excessively moist, to the point of resembling a cornbread pudding, which was not appealing. Unfortunately, it was almost entirely tasteless. The only reason it wasn't sent back was due to the honey lavender butter that accompanied it, making it just barely palatable. Without that butter, I would not have been able to eat it. For the main course, I ordered the Cassoulet, which was also disappointingly bland. I had to ask for salt just to give it some flavor, which allowed me to eat a portion of it. The garlic sausage had an odd, spongy texture and seemed improperly made. The carrots in the dish were mushy and lacked the proper texture. The duck was severely overcooked, rubbery, and overly salty, which was surprising given that the rest of the dish was so bland. The butter beans were cooked correctly but were severely under-seasoned. It seemed like nothing in the dish was tasted before being sent out. Given this experience, I am unlikely to return. It appears that the eggs Benedict are their most highly reviewed item, which might explain their overall rating of four stars or higher. However, based on my experience, I believe the kitchen needs to make some significant adjustments and improvements. read more

The cornbread was exceptional, with a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. We also noticed beautifully plated pancakes and French toast at neighboring tables. There was a mishap with a vegetarian order, enchiladas mistakenly served with non vegetarian ingredients. However, the staff handled it professionally, issuing a refund and sending the manager or owner to personally apologize. Their level of service was impeccable, attentive yet unobtrusive. A 20% large party fee was included, which is standard for groups of this size. Given the quality of food and service, it felt justified. We came to Grace's Table with high expectations, bringing friends from the UK to experience one of our favorite Napa spots. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but memorable--in a good way. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, and our server took our drink orders. Drinks arrived, but after that, we were essentially forgotten. We waited over 15 minutes, only to see the server taking orders from tables that were seated after us. Feeling overlooked, we eventually decided to leave. As we were walking out, a barista came out, asking if we had paid, which added an uncomfortable final note. I chose to avoid an argument, pulled out my card, and paid. It was clear that the restaurant was understaffed--just one server for a packed house, with no manager in sight. Expecting one server to handle over ten tables simply isn't reasonable, and it's not fair to him or the guests. We were disappointed, especially because we wanted to give our friends a great experience at one of our favorite places. Sadly, we left feeling neglected and let down, and it may be a while before we consider coming back. read more

I took my friends here following a recommendation of a local resident. We could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. Being in the industry I'm perhaps over judgmental of any dining experience so I try to be open and review restaurants with an open mind. The service: This is the key to any dining experience and can make or break your entire meal, no matter how good the food may be. Our wait staff were very friendly, extremely knowledgeable of the dishes and offered recommendations which were exceptional. The atmosphere: The dining area is small but arranged to create a sense of space without feeling crowded. Very cozy feeling. The food: The menu is varied with dishes to appeal to any taste. I would recommend the roasted red beets and the pate. Its a little difficult to find being in the heart of down town Napa but well worth the effort. On your next trip to Napa Valley don't miss this place. I would recommend reservations since its rather limited seating. read more

We read the yelp reviews before choosing our restaurant in Napa for this evening and the ones for Grace's table were fairly mixed. The biggest criticism i had seen is that the dishes were fairly small and since i had a big lunch, I thought that would be fine and we tried it out. My husband and I both rolled out of the restaurant absolutely stuffed, either the person who thought the dishes were small eats at Jack Astors on a regular basis or they've improved thier serving sizes :) I had a spring salad and the steak frits and loved both. My husband had the mussels and risotto with short ribs and loved his as well. Then we shared a massive piece of chocolate cake that was to die for- we couldn't finish it. The service was great, the atmosphere was classy and yes- they could put a picture or two on the wall but if that's my only criticism, then it's a great restaurant. In short, we highly recommend this restaurant and would go back in a minute. read more

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The seating was so packed that I could literally use my elbows to touch the woman at a neighboring table and the backside of the man sitting at the bar. The food was gross. The coffee was burnt. The skillet corn bread had the texture of a quiche and the lavender butter was grey and flavorless. The eggs Benedict was bland as ever. The potato pancake had a pasty texture as if it was extruded onto the grill. The chiliquilles was basically soggy breakfast nachos. Horrible. The server was inattentive and was forced to serve everything over my shoulders because of the confined space and never ever refilled our waters. All of this and more for $50. The shrimp and grits "Chef P style" dish delivered intense flavor through its combination of spicy sausage with fresh fruit and crisp greens. The cornbread with lavender butter is a must-try. The staff provided friendly and attentive service throughout our visit while the restaurant maintained an airy welcoming atmosphere. We went there last night after wandering around the chefs market. We started off with an order of cornbread, onion rings and steamed mussels and all were delish......Especially the cornbread with the lavender honey. Oh my gosh, that Honey was sooo good! I ordered the tamale - SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO super good. being Mexican, i'm quite picky, but this was by far the BEST tamale ever! My husband had the steak and fries which was OK. My wife and I came to your restaurant today 7/28/13-when we walked in the door the everyone ignored us and the whole place smelled of dope smoke-we exited immediately and went to Oventi's where the food is better, lower priced and great service and no dope- If you have to be stoned to serve us or your employees have to be under the influence of drugs to work or you are allowing your clientele to use drugs on yur premises - you should rethink what you are doing--we will never patronize your establishment again or recommend it like we have in the past- read more

Everything was delicious, the service was great and I felt like they cared if we enjoyed the meal. It seems like this restaurant has nailed how to operated in this very difficult restaurant environment. We had the cassolet, chicken and pumpkin soup. The meal was perfectly executed. I'm having a difficult time giving a two star review, but is my fault because I went off the reviews. Who in the world likes pulled pork for breakfast or steak. There is a reason why this is our favorite restaurant . . . perfection every time! Chef is a culinary genius, service is flawless and environment is uplifting and warm. We brought a large party from out of town - and each said was by far the best of their trip. The special (sea bass) was a hit and the chef blew me away with my halibut. We went for lunch today still buzzy at 2pm on a Monday. Friendly attentive and just right service. It was hard to choose what to eat as there were so many things that sounded amazing! This is one of my favorite places to go to... because .. the corn bread with LAVENDAR butter is amazing!!! The pork belly is great too, and the roasted chicken!! These are the main reasons why I like to go here.. but I give this place 4 stars only because it's not always consistent and the service sometimes is very poor.
