We loved this place. The ambience is great and service is a true 5 star. We sat at the bar and got so many good recommendation on what to order. Everything we tried was so good, from the croquette, risotto to lamb. Dessert was also great. I was expecting the portions to be smaller so we didn't have enough room for last tapas we ordered which were the raviolis. I would say 4 is enough for two people and that will leave you some room for deserts Also overall this was one of the best tapas places we tried during our recent visit to Barcelona. This was a highlight of my trip! We stumbled upon this restaurant when we noticed several people waiting outside to get in. We added our name to the list (they primarily do reservations which we did the next night when we returned ;) ) and 30 minutes later we were seated at the bar. This place was AWESOME. We had 2 glasses of wine each, the cheese platter, zucchini, lamb, and truffle ravioli (all tapas). It was the best food I had had in my time in europe. The service was great, the ambiance was great... and we were stunned when we got the bill and it was 65 euros. I would have gladly paid $100+ in the states for that. The staff was lovely, they offered generous wine pours, and we had such a great time we had to tell anyone who would listen to go check them out. read more

This was a great last dinner in Barcelona! Luvkily we were able to get a reservation day of, but on the later side. For a Sunday at 11pm the place was packed! Definitely make a reservation a few days in advance if you can. The atmosphere was so lively and fun and the food was amazing! We decided to try Sensi gourmet because we wanted to try some more unique tapas after eating more traditional Catalon dishes for the week. We loved each dish more than the next! We started with the broccoli souffle which paired well with the marmalade and crispy onions. Then the truffle ravioli which were delicious and the portion was a good size. My favorite dish was the chicken with apple mousse! What an incredible combination! The apple mouse was wonderful! The duck was amazing as well, perfectly cooked! The only dish we found somewhat lacking was the roasted apple with strawberry mousse and banana puree. While it was still tasty and the flavors were good, the presentation was somewhat lacking. I wish there had been more roasted apples. The waiters brought us free shots of limoncello after our meal which was so kind! There are several other Sensi restuarants nearby which I'll have to try next time I'm in Barcelona! read more

This place is labeled as a "hipster" restaurant. I refuse to believe that. There were more elderly tourists and families enjoying the small plates as I was. We snagged a reservation after a long day of walking around the absolutely stunning Barcelona, and thankfully, were able to as the queue was quite long all night long. What a treat! The restaurant was seriously hopping the entire time we were there, and the service was correspondingly up and down, but always friendly. The food was fantastic - an upscale take on local tapas. The tomato rubber Coca bread, as with every place in Barcelona, was a revelation. It says a lot when it's the one dish we have replicated at home multiple times in two weeks! The grilled octopus was some of the best we have ever had, and is the one dish we will remember for a long time. We tried another six of their tapas and each one was quite wonderful, along with the cocktails and wine. The biggest highlight for us was the Gorgonzola and pear risotto - easily the best risotto I have ever had! Amazing... Booked a reservation same day with no issues. Location is really intriguing and reminds one of how Spain was (still is) with narrow cobblestone​ streets. This entire district seems full of inviting places. The restaurant is very small but they make it work with small, intimate tables and chairs. Lighting is ideal, the ​music fits, and the vibe is warm and energized, without​ too much noise (we were in the very back which helped a lot). Staff was​ amazing (especially Kai): multi-lingual, attentive, funny, personable, and very knowledgeable about all the dishes and wines. We had an array of tapas. The goal is to order multiple tapas and share among all in your group. We shared a longer table-communal style and ended up connecting with the couple at our table in multiple ways and it was a "party" among us for an hour! Staff, again, ​accommodated​d us, never rushing us and always available. We even got shots at the end of the night. Food is eclectic, wonderful flavors and layers, an a vast array. I won't go into the dishes as they're hard to remember but we ordered about 12 different ones. With so many dishes, it's hard to not find favorites. I've been to this place 3 times now and it is the best tapas I have had in Barcelona. It's well priced and you have to get 3 tapas per person which is the perfect amount in my opinion. Some tapas are obviously larger than others but you can tell by the prices which are bigger and which are smaller. I've had almost every tapa on the menu by now and my absolute 3 favourites are the tomato tartare, the octopus, and the truffle ravioli. All of the tapas are good but you can't go wrong with these 3. Tip: you need to make a reservation a day or two in advance or else you won't get a table until 11pm. If your reservation is for a prime time (such as 9pm) expect to have to wait 15-20 minutes for your table because this restaurant is extremely packed. However usually if you have to wait a bit they give your table free glasses of champagne! Service is very helpful and they speak fluent English. read more

I don't even know where to start. I'm visiting Barcelona from the states and I stumbled upon this place that (for some unknown reason) has amazing reviews. As soon as I walked in, I was only treated as a nuisance. The snooty male host asked if I had a reservation. Not a greeting whatsoever. I said no, and he rolled his eyes and walked away. I was left there confused as to what to do, as usually a host would say "follow me" or at least, mention that they are going to go check for a table. I immediately was unsatisfied with my experience already, 2 minutes into it. After 10 minutes, a (yet again, snooty) server decided it was time to ask what I would like to drink. Eventually bread was brought to the table, although I did not order it, but not as a filler, like they do with chips and salsa or breadsticks. Yes, I was charged for this, and yes YOU will be charged for it too. The food was disgusting. Every dish lacked in flavor, 2 of the 4 items I did actually order were undercooked, and not once did any of the servers ask how our meal was. The couple sitting next to me was disappointed with this place too, so it wasn't just me. The male servers are beyond rude, with terrible customer service skills. That's not even all, this place sucks but is also UNSANITARY. I was sitting by the kitchen ledge, where they put out the food to be delivered and the same snooty male host literally TOOK A BITE out of whatever was there. He came up to take my plate as he was chewing the food. Absolutely not okay. Do not come here unless you want to waste your time being ignored and waste your money on food that will make you sick. After eating twice in a row at SENSI their "mother" restauarant right around the corner, that was nothing short of the best tapas you can get anywhere in spain, we came here with huge expectations. Unfortunately we were badly dissapointed. The food is still good, I'd rate it 4 out of 5 stars. But the atmosphere is closer to a fast food restaurant and it feels a bit like a tourist trap. The waiters were friendly (at first) but very stressed. At first they forgot to put in our order, we waited for 30 minutes, no food, no drinks no bread on the table. Then we were told that we'd get the food very soon. After another 15 minutes we got 3 tapas plates at once and then waited for another 25 minutes until he waitress asked us if our food was good. They forgot about the other 5 tapas plates. Another 15 minutes passed then three other plates the remaining plates were also forgotten. The waiters were very rude at the end. After all we spent over two and a half hours for a menu that would have taken an hour with the promt and very charming service at SENSI. If you can, avoid this place and go to the original SENSI around the corner. You will have the best tapas and experience of your hollidays. read more

We went to about 5 different tapas restaurants during the week we visited Barcelona & this place clearly stood out. The look was great-clean and simple, as was our adorable (& very helpful) waiter Jorge. Drinks: sangria was delicious! Perfect blend of 5 wines, we learned, not too sweet & not fizzy (my personal preference). Undoubtedly amongst the best sangria I had in Barcelona....and I've had MANY. Food: shrimp croquettes, vegetable curry, zucchini & goat cheese, oxtail burger, seafood paella, dulce de leche cheesecake...literally, everything was better than the last thing that came out. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough! We got totally lucky because a reservation didn't show up but you really should make reservations because this place has not one empty table the rest of the night! Best tapas we've had in Spain over the last week of our 2 week visit. The experience began when the manager was in the street and helped us to locate another restaurant that we had made an online reservation. It was closed! Well by the time we got tired of looking a new place we decided to go back to that "nice looking" restaurant a block back. We were warmly greeted and given a table for 4 even though we didn't have a reservation. After we were seated and the server took our drink order, the manager came to take our order. It was then that we realized she was the woman who so kindly helped us earlier. Well she gave us some menu suggestions and helped us select an excellent Rioja. Every tapas was excellent. My youngest loved the salmon, the Spanish sausage was excellent and the zucchini tapas was amazing. Bread? Every time it got to the bottom of the basket, a new filled one was there to replace it. We didn't try a desert as our eldest was not feeling but I can only imagine it would be equally good. I don't give 5 star reviews often but this is well deserved. This place too, was packed, but the host sensed hunger in my eyes and told us that if we wait about 30 minutes and come back and he would have a table ready for us. He did not fail!!
