DISCRDISCRIMINATORY, RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL IN A MANNER THAT WOULD MAKE VLADMIR PUTIN PROUD!!!
I have lived in 3 countries, both coasts and the South, as well as in Southern California, and I have NEVER in over 16 moves experienced the kind of outright disrespect and unprofessionalism from a moving company than I faced this morning 11/24/21 when I had scheduled an appointment to have my household belongings moved from one home to another home in the same city, Oakland. I paid Got2Move my deposit, and they texted me the night before to confirm the move. Unfortunately, what I got were 3 dazed and confused twenty-somethings who appeared too scared to even get out of the truck. Their leader/spokesman "Max" asked me if I would move my car to allow for greater clearance for their moving truck, and I complied. They then entered my small 2 bedroom house, spent all of 3 minutes barely looking in each room, not even looking in any closets, and asked me if there was anything that shouldn't be packed. I smiled, and answered, "yes, broken furniture shouldn't be packed. Please leave it here, and I will take care of it. " Max said that was "fine, he just needed to check on something with his boss." He got back into the moving truck speaking Russian to his "comrades" , they sat parked for about 6 minutes before they drove off without saying a word to me. I thought to myself, maybe they forgot something and were going back to pick it up. Nope. Nothing. I waited over 22 minutes before I got a lame and condescending excuse from their boss "Alex." Alex in his patronizingly told me," the movers can't move because your house is too messy." "Too messy?" I asked. "Is this a joke? Its moving day for Christ's sake! There are boxes everywhere. Of course my house isn't neat an tidy on the day of the move!" Then Alex, condescendingly added, " I hear your house smells, too. Perhaps you should hire a housecleaner." Now, while I am not an obsessive cleaner, my house is regularly dusted, vacuumed, cleaned by a professional cleaning staff, and often scented with jasmine or "Nag Champa" incense. I own no pets, so there are no litter boxes or stinky animal droppings around. Also, keep in mind, "Alex" has never met me in person, nor has he been to my house. I have lived more than 50 years, and I have never encountered a moving company that would terminate the work contract, due to a "smell", criticize the person moving for not being more "orderly and tidy," and not even have the decency to discuss the matter with the client to see what kind of resolution might be found before they quit the job, ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE!!
I can't help but wonder if the actions of this dysfunctional, unprofessional company are racially motivated. That seems to be the only reason why movers would refuse to touch any object, discuss a potential issue with their client, speak so rude and dismissively to a customer, as well as ultimately refuse to do business. Please learn from my misfortune! BEWARE! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS UNETHICAL, PREJUDICED COMPANY!!
