I've never had a great experience with movers, until now. And their pricing was very competitive and there's no hidden fees! Linda was extremely communicative with coordination and flexible when we needed to make last minute changes, which made the moving process stress-free. On moving day, the crew Leo and Miao, handled a three-story move with heavy furniture and tight doorways with care and efficiency. I was actually very impressed by how they communicated to each other and they are both very strong! Every item was carefully wrapped and protected, nothing was damaged, and they worked quickly while staying professional. On top of that, they were genuinely fun to work with and made us laugh and smile during the move. Highly recommend Lucky Moving! I inquired on Yelp with the type of service I'm looking for. I had items already in boxes or bins, just needed assistance on the larger items to be packed i.e. couch, tv stands, deep freezer etc. I also mainly needed a big truck which they have, 26ft, so the move would just take one trip. Linda responded to my inquiry and she responded quickly whether it was through Yelp, email or text. Linda answered all my questions and was upfront with their pricing. They had the most reasonable prices compared to other companies I called. I was getting conflicting numbers and we exchanged messages back and forth. The starting rate is $139 per hour, $60 for gas, and $10-15 tip per hour, per mover. Anything past the reserved time would be charged in 15 minute increments. I didn't want to go with this route and reserved 5 hours. During the date of my move, only three movers were available. The scheduled time was 8 am but they arrived early. The lead mover showed me the paper work with their arrival time. This made it easy for us to remember to check the clock once it's getting to the 5 hour mark. They assessed the items that needed to be moved and they brought out these blue large plastic container to cover our items or be filled. The movers worked in different areas of the house. While one took are of wrapping items, the other used their dolly to haul items to the truck, and the third mover rearranged items in the truck. The staff spoke broken English. I met the truck to the new location and they got started with unloading ASAP. They would ask which items would go in which room. Assembly and disassembly were things they could do, but since our items were scattered, we opted out of this. They worked efficiently and were done by 4 hours. Besides the hourly rate, the other charge was $10 for the shrink wrap used on my larger items. After unloading, I paid in cash and gave each of the movers a good tip. read more

I've used movers three times now and of the three, Lucky moving definitely was the most efficient and competitively priced, but the movers themselves were a little rough around the edges. Again, for the price I can't even bring myself to ding them a star and ultimately there was only very minor damage to my stuff, but it was a little hard to watch how they handled my things. The move itself went very smoothly. The two movers that arrived were very efficient and absolute workhorses in getting things in and out. We were able to move an entire 1-bedroom in about 2 hours which was faster than I expected (we did have most things packed for them in advance but it was really great timing). The value of the service was phenomenal compared to some alternatives I found in my search. I considered giving them 4 stars due to the communication with the back office and scheduling which happened the night before the move vs in advance so I knew what to expect. I used lucky moving for a recent move and was impressed by the quality and price. They were the most affordable quote for my short move; however, this didn't come at the cost of quality. In addition to lots of boxes, I had a few large items like a kitchen island, standing desk, and a large coffee table. Nevertheless, these were no problem as they completed the whole apartment move within 2.5hrs. Everything was packaged well and handled with care. Pros: Service was excellent and was done very quickly. They took care of my fragile items really well. Cons: I was going to give them 5 stars up until the very last minute. We had two movers do the work and I handed the guy a tip for the both of them. He then asks if that's all for him or if it's the total top to be divided with his partner. I said it was the total. He then begins arguing with me for more tips. I was so confused. Tips are optional and they are up to customer on how much to tip. The guy starts to say the tips are $10-15/ per person per hour. What the heck? Tips do not have a requirement. He then basically begins to rob me of more tips. It was truly embarrassing and awkward. Another customer wrote about them arguing over tips as well and I should have picked another moving company. The response from the owner on that review was laughable. She stated tips were part of the labor charge and that there is a culture of tipping in the US. First of all, YOU as the company owner are responsible for paying your workers a fair wage. And second of all there is no standard for tipping. The customer does this out of their own kindness and it is up to THEM NOT YOU on how much they tip. I was so tired after the move and had no energy to fight back from this robbery that happened. It's such a bummer that the service was so good, yet they fumbled so hard at the end. Very communicative (Linda is fantastic) and efficient. Accommodated our schedule change easily and workers were great. Do not be put off by reviews that state the movers don't speak English. We had the same two movers for each part of our project and they spoke Mandarin to each other but the leader spoke plenty of English to understand our instructions. And when needed he used Google translate on his phone to clarify our instructions. These guys were great with our furniture and very careful when they moved everything back into the house on to our brand new hardwood floors! Our TV was broken and instead of letting us know. The movers put the TV in the master closet facing the wall, I thought that was odd but was so overwhelmed with the move that I really didn't think much of it. Today when we finally had a chance to mount the TV we saw it was broken. Contacted Linda right away and was told that the movers said it was broken when they wrapped it. No, it was not it. It was working perfectly fine with an intact screen. So frustrated with the dishonesty. Right now I'm waiting to see how they are going to address the matter but given the denial I am very concerned that they are not taking responsibility for their actions. I want to update my review. After communicating with Linda and her discussing it with her manager we were partially reimbursed. We won't be able to replace the TV they broke but would still be able to get a smaller one. This was a setback in the moving process. With the exception of this issue we were satisfied with the move. Excellent service! The Lee Brothers moved us not once but twice - for context - we were renovating our house and moved from our 4 BR house to a 4 BR condo. They arrived on time on the moving day. Provided blanket and wrapped the furnitures. Wore Booties and laid out a carpet -- as they were moving us into a brand new condo/ newly renovated house and were extremely careful. They were very efficient in loading and unloading and in terms of pricing were extremely effective/reasonable. They paid attention to not hit corners or doors and assembled/disassembled the study tables and beds. One thing that stood out was the customer service - our initial move was scheduled for a wednesday in December (Dec 27th) and it was raining cats and dogs that day -- Linda accommodated us and moved the move to the only dry day in that week -- which was God Sent! The reality is we are picky and there is no way we would have going with this company a second time and the only reason we did was because of their extremely good service! I am pleased to share my 5 stars review for Lucky Moving! Linda was amazing answering all my questions via phone calls and text the week prior to my scheduled move last weekend. The movers arrived at 8am sharp! Li and his helper were friendly, professional and experts in deciding what to pack and in the order for smooth unloading later. The house owners where I moved to where very impressed how clean and prepared they were with bring rubber runners for the stairs so not to damage the new wood floors. Li and his helper set up my bed, placed all the furniture where I liked, unpacked my boxes and asked me to check the truck that nothing was left behind. Response time on Yelp was very fast. Price was cheaper compared to others ($99/hr for 2 movers + $60 fuel and truck fee, 2 hour minimum). My move was straightforward: all boxes packed and close to front of apartment, about 25 boxes, elevators at both locations. Movers arrived on time and worked at a normal pace. Nothing damaged. Movers did not speak much english (only Chinese) and giving instructions (such as keep all boxes upright) was difficult, and I'm not sure they understood. Total move time was 1hr 15min. Before the move, I was told I could use credit card for an additional 4% fee, but when they were finished they said no credit card only cash/zelle/venmo. Mover was also trying to negotiate for tips (which are not mandatory), and was asking for more tip after my initial amount which followed the "recommendation" from the company. Overall, for a simple move it got the job done at a cheap cost, but I would not use them for anything complicated. read more

My roommates and I are were looking for movers to move from a 3BR Home in SSF with 2 level of stairs to another 3BR Home in Daly City with one level of stairs. We wanted a later in the day (4pm ish) move instead of early morning so we could finish our work days and have time to get things boxed up and ready for them as we scheduled for a random Tuesday. First I requested on Yelp the project option and was looking for a good rate, however all the ones that I inquired about were all fairly expensive. One quoted me it would take 6 hours and was trying to get me to use 4 movers. I was frustrated with all of the Yelp suggestions. So I turned to Lucky Moving again, who actually moved me into this house from my last move. These guys have the best rate, and we were able to take advantage of the cash option to save a few dollars. They do charge for truck/gas which is a probably a negative, but understandable. We hired 3 movers in total and they did an amazing job for us. One of my roommates had A LOT of stuff, as did I, but the 3 guys were able to get us out of the old home into the new in 4 hours!!! Amazing job! We tipped well cause they probably saved us a little bit more. Requesting service with Linda was also easy, she was very accommodating for our needs and was very detailed with the price quote and all the necessary information. The BEST decision my husband and I made was hiring Lucky Moving. We've moved 5 times within the last 10 years and I can't stress enough how grateful I am for Li and Di! Linda is super responsive and coordinated everything from A-Z, with text reminders and ETA time. These guys move FAST. Did a move with them on sunday, august 25. I almost gave them 4 stars but changed it to 5 after amazing customer service from Linda and her team. My movers were good, fast, and friendly. For those that are afraid that they might not be able to communicate, one of them spoke very solid English, and we had zero communication issues. I did have a slight issue with the way the move ended, and reported it to Linda, and i truly appreciated her amazing customer service. She made sure to apologize and fixed my small complaint. All in all, i would definitely recommend them, and i would 100% use them again! I remember emailing them at 11pm for a quote and got a response right away! The Li brothers and another mover (Liu) were such a delight to work with. They're professional, efficient, and patient. We had so many stairs at the first apartment and they didn't complain once. All of our stuff was wrapped nicely and moved with a lot of attention to detail. Given how much stuff we had, I really appreciated how quickly they were able to disassemble items and pack them up. Not a great experience. We still have stuff left at our home because the moving team did not bring any boxes to pack anything in. Despite each truck being stocked with boxes. For whatever reason the truck that arrived had no boxes except for 4 wardrobe boxes. So we ran out of boxes and there are clothes left behind, kitchen items left behind, bathroom items, lamps, tv, free weights... etc. The moving truck left without us. Didn't do a walk through. They just took off and went to the new house. The workers were constantly yelling at each other and yelling on the phone with the manager. They mentioned how they are overworked and underpaid. I tipped these guys and even paid for their lunch because they didn't bother packing food. And they knocked our furniture around, didn't care if things were beat up or dented. When I handed them a tip they said they deserve more. I gave them $140 in tips. They only sent 2 guys and supposedly severely underestimated the timing of the move so it took twice as long and so I ended up paying $750 for a 1 bedroom move. (not including tip) All in all, I think they could improve. read more
