I even realized I could order before hand so we were able to pick up our order as soon as we got there. This location is on the fourth floor of an otherwise pretty dead mall. It's located next to Din Tai Fung and has seating but there was barely anyone there. They did a great job bagging everything to go including a well wrapped sourdough bread bowl. The clam chowder is definitely some of the best. The bread bowl is okay. I didn't really care for the market chowder which was a smoked salmon chowder. The chowders come with a piece of bread and a bag of oyster crackers.

This is a sit-in area that's perfect if the weather's too hot or too cold to go the other location at Pike Place itself, since there's many tables just outside the area this restaurant takes up. As stated in their name, they serve chowder of all kinds. I've had their New England and Manhattan clam chowder, and during a Yelp event my bestie and I bought their smoked salmon chowder after having it as a sample. This comes with bits of potatoes and capers in addition to the smoked salmon itself, though I saved the bread that came with the dish for my bestie. I was happy with the capers since they usually come with smoked salmon if you put them on bagels, so this was a nice addition. There's the regular fishy taste of the salmon but doesn't have that really heavy seafood-y aftertaste.

I really liked this spot! I had known about nohm for a while but never found the desire to go…read morebecause it just seemed like a more expensive version of FOB. However I decided to check it out since it's a lot closer to where I live and was craving some sushi. Their selection isn't as big as FOB's but it's still very generous. They have inari, rolls, and nigiri - they do limit the number of "expensive" nigiri you can get though which does kind of suck. I tried a few rolls and a few nigiri. They all tasted really fresh, and I like how they aren't as enormous and one-note tasting as FOB's. Everything tasted unique! This should do the job to satisfy the sushi cravings :)

This is a sushi by the pound place in SLU, but they also have a menu with variety of things such as udon, inari, chirashi, etc. The selection of fish you can choose from in the weigh your sushi section is not that big. They only have 2 high premium fishes available: otoro and amberjack. However you can only get 1 of each, which to me defeats the purpose. I also got a bulgogi inari and it was $5 / piece which is pricey. Another thing is that they use a lot of rice, too much rice. Service is ok, they ring you up and bring the food to you if you ordered through the menu. It's a very relaxing and chill area as well. The food we got was just ok but for the price, it's not worth it. I'm glad I tried but most likely will not be back.

We only had a few hours in Seattle and of course we had to visit Pike Place market. But wait! What…read moreto eat here that's famous and extraordinary? One kind lady at the booth suggested to go here. It is a cute little shop, with no view or anything fancy. But you will eat the best chowders that you've had in your entire life. We waited in the line and took us about 15 minutes, not bad . We got lucky and found 3 bar stools to sit on and got their samplers . 4 different chowders of our choice . Omg ... we got : New England clam chowder, the crab and oyster chowder, the scallop chowder (with dill and lime ) this was my top favorite :) and of course the smoked salmon chowder (this was a little bit too salty in my opinion but well , it is smoked salmon so beware if you don't like salty) Staff were super friendly. 4 cups of small chowder was so filling and I was not hungry the whole day. I wish I had space to try their lobster roll, hopefully next time :)

There's no way I was gonna visit Seattle and not leave trying some good chowder!…read more We came here on a weekend, and the line was definitely long. They didn't have much overhead to cover from the rain, so definitely bring a raincoat! If you're a first timer like us, I recommend trying multiple flavors by ordering the sampler. It costs more, but at least you know exactly what to get next time. We got the New England, Market Choice, etc. But those two definitely were the standouts. They were really flavorful, and the place didn't skimp out on the chunks. Nor was there any fishiness at all. They for sure showed why they won awards. Another thing to note as well, they're really strict about the seating. Since the place is small, tables and seats were limited. They're on it, and won't allow you to take a seat unless you order first. Honestly, to save you the stress and time, just order online and go to the many other open seating areas at Pikes.
