3.5 stars * Eggs Benedict 4/5 * Chicken and waffles 3.75/5 * Biscuits and gravy 4/5 * Free donuts 2.5/5 * French dip 3/5 * Omelette 2/5 The best part is the gravy. The chicken breading fell off if u cut it so just eat it with ur hands. Worth trying this restaurant.

I went here for happy hour and the food was just okay. We were seated quickly and had great service from Lisa. I liked the lemon drop, and the gin and juice was great as well. My burger was cooked properly but just wasn't that impressive. The fried chicken sliders, chips, calamari, and house salad were all just fine. It's a good deal on happy hour, and I may be back to try their dinner menu, especially since the drinks and service are good. The restaurant is cozy, we had a nice booth in the back.

I'm not sure why I've never been here before but the Mrs was very excited to have me try it out. So here we are. The hostess was dressed very elegantly and asked if we had reservations, we did not. No problem, she found us a table readily enough. We were expecting friends to join us and thought the table to be a bit small.... 'Oh no problem, we can seat you here is this acceptable?' Wow Such gracious professionalism and courtesy, the entire staff was like that. Even the table bussers who went around refilling waters and clearing plates had the same level of service. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant with a smile that lit the table. She took our drink and appetizer requests. At one point my friend had switched to a different drink on a refill and the bar made a mistake. She was so gracious about it and corrected it without missing a step. Just awesome service. For an appetizer we started with some calamari. It was very tender, not chewy at all. It came with a spicy Green Goddess dipping sauce that had a bit of heat. The Truffle Fries were done nicely with truffle oil and parmesan sprinkled over all. I found them to be tasty with a nice light outer crisp and not oily. The truffle flavor was a unique taste and went well with the parmesan. The Wagyu Burger on a Brioche Bun was outstanding. The beef flavor was very pronounced and barely needed any seasoning. It came with melted cheese, lettuce, onion and fresh cucumber instead of pickle. The cucumber was sliced extremely thin and brought an aromatic flavor to the burger that was superb, just a very fine and refreshing fragrant flavor of fresh cucumber. The Truffle Fries appetizer was so good I also had it with the Wagyu Burger. The Wagyu Burger itself is cooked with 'pink' or 'no pink'. An interesting choice. The Dulce De Leche cheesecake was creamy, smooth and flavorful with a fantastic caramel drizzle. Fresh thin sliced strawberries were layered on top for an amazing flavor profile with a white chocolate and caramel swirl cheesecake. We visited for quite a while, we were not rushed, the seating was comfortable. Pleasant background music played overhead and the lighting wasn't too dim or intrusively bright.

Amazing food and service, it's so beautiful inside and outside. You can tell that they spent time cooking and plating every dish.

We visited Gordon Tavern for Happy Hour on a home game day so we expected it to be packed but we were seated right away. The rest of our service was quite slow despite it not actually being that busy but our server was friendly. They really have a good happy hour menu. The food was all pretty good and we got out of there for around $40 for two drinks and 3 happy hour items. I would definitely visit for Happy Hour again (really want to try their pizza).

    glare from terrible lighting

We had below average food and service on a quiet summer night. The calamari was too-tiny rings with greasy batter slightly overcooked and paired with a heavy mayo sauce. Pork chop, as others have noted, was covered in a cloying sweet brown gravy and served with runny mashed potatoes and crunchy veg. Salmon was also overpowered by a lemon-butter goo and served with ghastly salty arancini balls - would have been better with plain wild rice. Kitchen here seems in disarray. Old fashioned was also too sweet and lacked proper size single ice ball so even the bar is sloppy. Service was beyond slow, despite only a couple other tables. And although we sat inside the doors were open so we were pestered by flies the whole time. The lighting here is horrific - bare light bulbs at full intensity set very low give it the feeling of a stage.

However, the crust was way too thin toward the middle of the pizza to even hold the toppings. It just flopped over. It was maybe a mm thick?? With some orange slices and lots of cubes of beets, pickled red onions and sunflower seeds. Too much oil in the lemon vinaigrette IMO since it all tasted a bit oily. The beers were excellent. Probably the best pizza place in town…read more Came here twice, once on a Friday evening and another during weekday midday. Weekends and evenings are hectic, the place is packed and our wait was around 35 minutes. On weekday midday we were seated and served right away. Servers are very accomodating and attentive. Our food came out relatively fast both times, within 15-20 mins of ordering for multiple dishes. The basic marinara pizza is surpsingly very good and is our favorite so far. The thin crust is cooked perfectly with a satisfying bite, and the marinara with garlic/oregano/olio verde/pecorino was simple yet delicious. All pizzas come with chili flakes and parmesean to add to your liking. The pepperoni and Il Tuffo were great too. The menu has a variety of pizzas with yummy sounding topping combos that keep you wanting to come back and try them all. The location is clean and lively, with a lot of varied seating indoor and out. And, it's tradition to grab icecream next door, which is a good use of time during longer waits. For the price and the quality, the pizzas are definitely worth coming for.

It's weird that I've never written a review for Hey Neighbor It's Pizza (H-N-I-P) before since I…read moreconsider it to be about the best product in town. I won't bore you with details on crust (thinnish with a nice chew) or toppings (interesting varieties and well and evenly dispersed, nothing clumped in one area) and the friendly staff, etc. Nope, I would not have been there numerous times over the last handful of years and recommend it to most everyone I know. So why just the three-star rating? Lemme tell you about a pet peeve of mine: automatic gratuities. Tips added on to the total without any indication to the patron. Don't get me wrong-- I completely understand for larger parties, like six or more. I've spent months/years as a waiter so I understand the frustration of working hard to please a table only to get a 10% tip. As a now-former waiter, I try to tip generously. What I don't understand or expect is an automatic gratuity for small group, especially when I am a solo diner. Just me. Party of one. With minimal indication on the bill as to the added tip. After my last time at H-N-I-P I got the check, added on my own tip and paid. Then I pondered on the total. It seems funky -- why is it more than just the pizza and salad I ate... there's no tax in Oregon... Whuh? I look more closely at the bill and see that they already added on a tip...? I guess they just got a nearly 50% tip from me. Which might be the last tip because it's seriously irritating. In time I'll probably have a pizza craving that only they can fill, and go back. I'll look more closely at the menu to see if and where the automatic gratuity is mentioned. Enjoy the pizza. Beware the automatic gratuity.
