Then we decided to bring some back to our friends to try and ordered 3 pork and 3 chicken lunch specials to go. We got our order and left then returned to Pasadena. Once we arrived at our neighbors' house, we discovered we had been shorted one order: there were five in the bags when we ordered six. We called the store and kept getting busy signals on the phone. It is definitely a place you go to impress your parents. The banchan is flavorful and amazing. We kept kept asking for refills and they delivered it asap. We got the beef combo with a spicy chicken stew as well as the beef tartar. The amount of meat that was given puts this place in the pricier ranges of korean barbecue. The marinated beef in the combo was my favorite. The beef tartar was fresh and refreshing to taste. Lastly, the spicy chicken stew was one of the best i have tried. Love love love their food here! I would easily give this place 5-star except that I didn't like any of their banchans. My daughter and I were craving some Korean food, and wanted to try a new place. Yelp directed us here. At first we were intimidated by their front sign inside that says "Luxury Dining Experiences", which gave the impression that their prices were expensive and not within our budget. Surprisingly, their prices were comparable to any other Korean restaurants around the area. Not only that, if you compare the quality of their meats, I would even say, they're prices are reasonable! Additionally, you get upscale service, and relatively nice ambiance, with open floor setting. We ordered their USDA PRIME RIBEYE, and it came with some asparagus, and other vegetables for grilling. The server did all the bbq'ing and grilling, and all we did was enjoy how delicious the meats were. OMG, such good quality meat, it was super tender and juicy! I was really impressed with the quality of the meat and how reasonably priced it was at $48, enough for two hungry people. We also ordered three items from their lunch menu, all priced below $15/each: (1) CREAMY UDON; (2) CHEESE TRIPE FRIED RICE; (3) SOFT TOFU STEW with NOODLE. All three were exceptional! So delicious I couldn't decide which one was my favorite coz I liked them all. But at the end, I gravitated towards the Soft Tofu Stew with Glass Noodles because it was lusciously tasty and spicy. Additionally, the glass noodles elevated it to another level of goodness. My daughter loved their Cheese Tripe Fried Rice. I was a little hesitant to order this because I don't really like tripe, but gladly, when I tasted it, the tripe was so soft, I hardly noticed it, and it blended well with all the delicious flavor of the fried rice. Easy parking. Be ready they don't take reservations for Fridays or Saturdays. Small place but we got there around 6 pm on Friday and were sat immediately. Friendly staff, very quick to bring sides and our order. Rib eye steak was amazing, I just wished our server didn't cut it into such small cubes. Ooh yeah, this is my kind of Korean BBQ. I had been looking forward to this place opening because it looked like a much needed addition to the Northpark Plaza and any new option for high quality KBBQ in my area is always welcome. If you have seen any of their advertisements, it's likely that the allure of cooking marbled slabs of ribeye and ribeye cap on individual tableside grills will be enough for you to want to try this place. There's no question that the meat here is high quality and even their sides dishes are elevated versions compared to their competitors. But that's not the main reason I like this place. What I like the most about this place are the intestines. These guys offer the best quality small intestine, large intestine, abomasum and tripe that you're gonna find in Irvine. Even better than that other place down the street. So if your idea of a good night includes eating crispy grilled intestines washed down with a few bottles of soju like me, you will probably like this place. read more

Went last week on a weekday for lunch, and it was not too busy. We were seated inside with their doors wide open. We got the prime boneless short rib set, and it was delicious! The server helped grill everything and let us know when it was ready for us to eat. The meat was so juicy and delicious. I just ate it with some salt and the flavor was SO GOOD. They used rosemary to give it some fragrance too. The grilled vegetables were also delicious. We also did try the cheese tripe fried rice, and the bowl was kind of small but a good portion since we usually eat too much. It was good but not really my fave. I went here with my mans and we ordered the Kkotdeunshim (Prime Ribeye), Gopchang (Small Intestine), Cheese Yahngbap (Cheese Tripe Fried Rice) and Doenjang-jjigae (Soybean Paste Stew). It came with banchan (side dishes) and delicious sauces! Everything was really good. They also torched the Gopchang which I thought was pretty cool. The tofu soup was good but the cold noodle was a bit too cold. It came with ice which made the dish feel like a noodle slush. We ordered tripe, small intestines, and large intestines, as well as an additional beef set (see picture below). The meat was good quality and a restaurant that focuses on intestines is hard to find. It is somewhat on the pricy side, but the intestine portions were fairly large and the service was quick. Interestingly, this beef KBBQ was made on a portable burner (see below). They finish it off on the small Japanese grill with veggies. I expected a higher quality of meat because the price is on the steep side for 1 order $50. It was heavenly! I usually like my a little bit past medium rare because it could get too chewy. But medium rare was perfect! Soft, juicy, beefy! Also ordered the tripe kimchi fried rice. Weird finish to that dish. No need to order it again. The daengjang jjigae with chadolbaegi was a revelation! I could just have that and banchans with rice and I would be a happy camper. Went there for the lunch specials and was disappointed to see that it was one order per person. I saw the lunch specials on instagram but it wasn't mentioned that there was a limitation. I got the brisket beef tofu soup and my friend got the seafood tofu soup. The downside to the soups is that you're not able to adjust the spice level. My friend who usually doesn't eat anything spicy but the employees said it shouldn't be too bad. The seafood soup was definitely spicier than the beef soup. The sides were alright, I personally liked the chive salads the most. One of the cucumbers we had was super sour (it was probably old) and thankfully it was towards the end of my meal because it honestly ruined my appetite. So light and fluffy and absolutely delicious! Large portion but we ended up eating it all because it was so light. For two people, the portions were quite large. The staff was really nice and service was great, they'll be more staffed up once they can fully open but as it stands now service was still prompt. The staff at Gooyi92 were not only friendly but took the time to explain every detail of the menu, ensuring that I had a clear understanding of the combo meals. The waiter's assistance in grilling the meat was helpful because I got to enjoy my meal without having to check if the meat was burning or undercooked. The Korean side dishes were so delicious. The raw onion, green onion with Korean paste, and chili oil cucumber side dish added layers of flavor and freshness to my meal. I was shocked by how nutritious and delicious all the vegetables like mushrooms, onions, garlic, asparagus, and bell peppers were in all of the side dishes. There's a not a lot of gopchang places in Irvine and despite the menu being predominantly KBBQ, Gooyi is very different from other KBBQ restaurants in that the meat quality is a bit better imo and the service is soo nice. The last time I was getting my sushi fix, I was intrigued by the outdoor diners enjoying fancy cuts of meats with portable grills, so I had to check them out for myself. Gooyi92 prides themselves as luxury Korean dining experience with premium meats and ingredients. Covid Safety - Face mask enforced. Take out and outdoor seating. Plenty of heat lamps to keep you warm, even at night. Very thoughtful service here. When I was seated, a kind older gentleman grabbed me a blanket to put over the chairs in the outdoor area so I would be more comfortable. So nice!! Great first impression. As I studied the menu, Suzy came over to greet me and give me some much appreciated recommendations. She was super sweet and knowledgeable. I ultimately decided on the Prime Ribeye ($44.92) since it is one of my favorite cuts of meat with a Steamed Egg ($5.92) on the side. While the food was getting prepared, the staff brought out a complimentary salad, 4 side dishes, dipping sauces and water. It took a reasonable amount of time to prepare the food. The steamed egg was bigger than other places and it even had cheese on it. I found it surprisingly enjoyable. The prime ribeye was of the best quality. Everything was prepared and placed with much care. Suzy was such a professional with the placement of the asparagus, bell peppers and ribeye on the grill. She made it look beautiful! It was so delicious dipped in the sauces. There was a perfect amount of fattiness and it was extra tasty freshly off their grill. My one critique is that the meat is a bit bland if not dipped in anything. I togo-ed about half of my unfinished food home for a ribeye salad at home, and the meat was definitely bland. Nevertheless still high quality and good with the provided dipping sauces. Great spot to try if you prefer high quality ingredients. I personally don't eat enough for Korean All You Can Eat, so I prefer paces like this. Indeed, this spot is all it is advertised and cracked up to be. There is plenty of parking and is close to many plazas and parks. It's off a main road in Irvine and it's very easy to drive. There is outdoor seating options, which is convenient and very safe-feeling. But friend and I sat inside, further from the door to stay warmer. The server was kind, helpful, and we were alone so it felt quite exclusive. Friend and I got the Ribeye Cap Steak option with a steamed egg, cold noodles and sangrias. The meat was tender and well prepared. The fire kept burning and the veggies were deliciously grilled to our liking. More than that, with the side dishes, steamed egg, and sangrias, the meal was well balanced though I wished there were more vegetables. Also, I enjoyed the sauces. I didn't try the just salt flakes option but the middle sauce was pretty good with the beef and the spicy was very spicy. I recommend the middle one, for sure. The cold needs were cold but very tasty and well chilled! (Friend kept blowing on it like it was hot!) Also, the restrooms as very clean and impressively decorated. Food was served quickly, but our waiter forgot to torch our grill. Hope their sauce could be better, they were a bit lame in my opinioin. The beef tartar, one of our must order dishes at kbbq, is also better than the ones I've had at other places. We'll come back soon to try the meats. I would recommend adding beef tongue to the menu please please! It's our favorite bbq meat and it'll be perfect if we had it on the menu!! The intestines were not at all strongly marinated which I thought was great because I prefer that to a strong taste. Some may claim that it's a bit bland, but it was good with me. This is a fairly new spot, and I want to be as honest as possible. I hope the owner takes some of my feed back as a way to improve. The good Cute spot, Great concept of your individual cooking grill, with a cute ceramic bbq. The meat quality was super high and the meat was brought out seared and it was a great presentation. The price was about 40 to 45 per order, not per person. Each order fed one adult, plus you ordered some side dishes. This was the same price as going to a high American steak house. Areas for improvement The meat was seared before serving and very artfully brought out on a platter. It is then cut up for you to finish cooking on your grill. This goes wrong when the server cuts it up with a dull pair of scissors and leaves it on a pile that look likes a DOG chewed it up. The Korean scissors work fine for thin meat or noodles. This steak was on inch thick and it just shredded it. I have had this type of restaurant before and the meat needs to be pre cut in equal cubes or cut table side with a sharp knife to look clean. Here, a pile of bloody half cooked meat is left. The banchan or Korean side dishes was very small. Just some pickles. We had no salad, small pancakes, fish cakes or noodles. We were served on a 5 inch paper plate from smart and final. The type you get when the serve you a birthday cake on. I don't understand this??? We didn't have any of the normal sauce dishes as pictured , we had a cheap plastic dish that look like a child paint dish. My rice was served in a styrofoam cup . I paid 70 per person for my meal and I get this. Even with Covid, So half of my food came out in proper serving ware and the other half looks like a taco truck served me. The menu is limited to High end prime meat and intestines. They menu will limit many non Korean customers. I don't think it's smart for a restaurant that opens during Covid to limit there customers.
