Included in the beef combo

My family of four tried Gooyi92 for the first time and had a pleasant experience. The restaurant is not big but a decent size. The server was very friendly and nice which made it more enjoyable. Everything tasted fresh and yummy, and the price was reasonable with the combo deals. They also have lunch specials during the week. The server cooked everything for us, and it was nice to just enjoy eating without having to worry about cooking the meat ourselves. The only thing we missed was rice papers that my son loved to eat whenever we have Korean BBQ. I would definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who wants Korean BBQ.

Beef brisket soft tofu stew

Came here for their lunch special so the rating is only for their lunch special. The lunch pricing definitely makes a great value for a nice restaurant in Irvine, but unfortunately the menu doesn't include any of their grilled specialties so not sure how their actual grilled dishes compare. Food itself was good, but not unique. I got the beef brisket soft tofu stew and soy sauce chicken rice bowl. The tofu stew soup spice level could not be adjusted, so they'll give you water to dilute if it's too spicy. The chicken in the rice bowl was on the sweeter side but the meat itself was very tender. The banchans were unique, a good taste that you don't usually get at other Korean restaurants. Service was good, but it was also a weekday lunch without many people so not sure how it'll be during a lunch rush. Overall, good value but would probably go elsewhere if you're looking for standard Korean dishes.

This place is a really good mid-range bbq place -- by mid-range I'm defining price and expectations ... It's not a super cheap AYCE-stuff-your-face place and not a super high-end place you might end up spending 4-figures on ... I've never been to a place that partially cooks the meat before bringing it out ... But the results speak for themselves! It's great! The meat tasted great and it was all cooked perfectly. The servers did a great job of really taking care to make sure the meat was cooked just right and then took it all off the grill for us. They were also very attentive and refilled our banchan as we got short. Overall, a great experience. We'll definitely come again -- particularly when we want bbq but don't necessarily want to crawl out completely stuffed.

Food: 4/5 My favorite was abomasum and large intestine. The small intestine was good but not amazing. Tripe fried rice was okay 3/5. Beef tofu soups is on the saltier side for my taste. Everything else was good. Service: Staffs are friendly and welcoming. Ambiance: The restaurant is nice and clean. Plenty of seats inside. Good for one big group of 8-10 people. There was no wait when I went at 6 p.m. on a Friday night. Surprisingly, it was not that crowded at all. Will be back to try their other dishes.

Fly baby in the salad

It used to be my favorite place and I came here a lot , but seems like the food quality and service has gone down a lot , server was extremely cold and didn't provided a good service, when we told her there was a fly in the salad , she didn't care and just took the plate away. Not coming back for sure .

My favorite place in Irvine. I'm not even joking. The servers are always really sweet and get you seated quickly. The music is usually some piano cover of modern songs so it's fun to guess. You're barely waiting for 5 seconds until they ask to take your order. They are THAT good (at least during lunch time). And that lunch special??? Heavenly and good for the budget. I recommend getting the spicy chicken rice bowl. Or the Tofu Stew. Or the Udon Noodles. Or anything really, it's all delicious. I wish they had more locations because it's quite a drive for me BUT it's worth it. PLEASE try for yourself! :)

Discovered this hidden gem with awesome lunch specials, which were $11.92 per item. We got the stir-fried pork, soft tofu stew with noodles, cream udon, lunch soy sauce chicken rice bowl (all $11.92) and a bunch of complimentary banchans. We saw the steamed egg on the menu, so we had to get that (regular price). The stir fried pork is the best bang for the buck with generous portions. Tender, flavorful, and delicious over a bed of rice. The lunch soy sauce chicken can be more than one meal and is your best bet if you want something filling and quick. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive. We added this to our usual lunch rotation because of the lunch specials and awesome banchan. The interior is clean and has a classy and modern feel. Located in the corner of Culver and Irvine Blvd in the H-Mart Plaza, parking can be a challenge when it gets busy.

I love this place! Barbecue sandwiches are reasonable. The beef soup pretty good. I always like to order the mango ice smoothie-service clean restaurant. I go every week if I could.

I was so incredibly impressed by this place. We were able to make it in time for the lunch menu and it was an out of this world value for amazing food at a really reasonable price. There's plenty of parking and the service was impeccable. And honestly this is one of the few times where I agreed with the restaurants description of elevated dining. It's just really solid good quality Korean food for grade prices and a really sophisticated experience. Will definitely be back here next time I'm in the area

Definitely a go-to place for gopchang in irvine! I usually get intestine bbq combo, but this time I tried gopchang jungol which was also really good. It's a bit spicy so be aware if you don't handle spiciness well.

Pretty good korean barbecue but very pricey. They cook the meat for you but overcook it so the meat is pretty tough when you eat it. No wait on the weekends.

Lunch Special Chicken

Nice Korean BBQ spot in Irvine! I always appreciate unique meats when doing KBBQ. My table had different parts of the stomach, not my cup of tea, but it looked great. I had the Lunch Special chicken, smokey and charred, just delicious! Banchan was flowing, love getting refills!

Cold kimchi noodles (lunch special)
Liz B.

Their weekday lunch special is very affordable at $12 per dish. The tofu soup was very flavorful and the perfect amount of spice. The cold kimchi noodle was also refreshing, though I wish it came with some protein. I'd like to come back to try the bbq, the other tables that ordered it looked good and the waiter helped cook their meats. Service was quick, and the spot is located in a busy plaza with lots of other Asian restaurants next door, but parking is never hard.

You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

My naengmyun came out shortly after the banchan, and I was so surprised by how big the portion was! It had a good amount of meat and cucumber too. It was so much that I was able to take home half. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes out!

Best decision of my late night misadventures in a long time! It was very filling (you could probably order one item and split it or have plenty of food for leftovers the next day), it's not inexpensive but it's great value (but then again $20 for a meal out is kind of going rate standard so maybe it is inexpensive or comparable to most anything else you could choose?), and it's great quality. The soup is a combo meal that comes with rice, glass noodles, fish cakes in sauce, and kimchi. You can also modify the spice level to make it more mild or spicy depending on your preference. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the soup but I'm going to think about it for a while because I was 100% lost in the sauce while eating it - after you get halfway you can put the rice, part of the kimchi, and (maybe) the fish cakes in the soup so it gets closer to porridge and break up some of the blood sausage to mix it throughout. Service is friendly and can recommend different things to eat. I got my order as takeout but the dining atmosphere is really good for how close each table is to one another. Everyone still has enough space to be on their own but because you're closer together it kind of feels communal.

However, a few years ago, the restaurant changed ownership, and things have gone downhill since then. Prices have increased, the taste is different, and most importantly, the service is no longer good. Because of that, we stopped going there for at least two years. The other day, I took my father there again just to see if anything had improved, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. The service was still really bad. We ordered one of the specials from the menu, and nobody informed us that ordering the special meant it would not include the usual side dishes. This was very poor communication on their part. They should clearly mention that in the menu before customers order. Instead, after we ordered, they told us that the side dishes were not included. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, especially compared to how good this place used to be.
