The crab Rangoons are AMAZING as well, which says a lot because I have tried at least 30 in the city. These are top 5. Lastly, beef chow fun was okay. It didn't have much flavor and the beef was tough/hard to bite through so not a fan of that.

I'm…read morenot sure if there has been a change in management or the kitchen, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had here. The food was completely underwhelming, and when we shared our concerns with the staff, nothing was done to address them. The service was equally disappointing. Our server spent much of the time sitting on her phone while we waited for basic service like water refills, being asked about drinks, and receiving the drinks we ordered. We repeatedly had to get up and find someone just to receive attention. As for the food, the gyoza was bland and tasted like unseasoned pork. The lemongrass beef stew curry, which was highly recommended, arrived cold, had an odd texture, and lacked any real flavor. Most shocking of all were the drunken noodles. I've ordered them countless times over the years and always considered them among the best in Chicago. This time, I couldn't get past a single bite. Every dish was left unfinished. We didn't finish a single plate and didn't take any leftovers home--something that never happens for us. Between the poor service and incredibly disappointing food, this was an awful dining experience from start to finish. Unfortunately, after being a longtime customer, I won't be returning.

No old fashioned on the menu but the beer I had alongside served as a solid palate cleanser between bites. Finished the night with the lava cake warm, fluffy, paired with ice cream and just enough to top it all off. -Mr.

I ordered wings and the Golden Curry Noodles. The wings!!! They were so crispy and good. The noodles were a pleasant surprise - I was just a tiny bit skeptical about the pickled vegetables, but the dish works well together. Flavor was great with a nice little kick to it. The only thing I didn't love was the texture of the noodles. I would have liked something a little doughier, but I suppose that's personal preference.

The pad Thai was sticky and clumped together and tasted like they added peanut butter, which is typical for a Chinese fake-Thai restaurant. You can't go wrong with any of them. The cabbage tofu pocket is one of our go-to items here. It's a stuffed inari and when you bite into it you get a mouthful of salad in a pleasant way. The blueberry gives it a nice sweetness. The crunch crunch shrimp was good too. It's deep fried shrimp wontons, and the inside was actually really juicy from the shrimp. I do want to make special note of their water, it tastes really refreshing and comes in a nice steel bottle. Service is good they brought the plates out in a way that doesn't overload the small table and they are quick about taking empty bowls away. One thing that could be improved was the lighting and fan situation. At the specific two-seater table we originally say there's a ceiling fan that is right below a ceiling light. This caused a quick flickering that was really distracting. We told a server and were able to be moved to a different table slightly further away where it was less noticeable. It's definitely not a good lighting experience and highly suggest the owners address this. Most tables aren't affected by this though.

So flavorful and delicious! We also ordered the oxtail potstickers and lemongrass beef lollipops, and both were excellent. Honestly, I could have eaten 10 more of each. For our mains, we ordered the pork belly sinigang and chap chae. The pork belly was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the chap chae tasted really fresh with all the vegetables. I also loved that the tofu was on the firmer side. We also tried the Sake to Me sushi roll. It was good, but compared to everything else we ordered, it wasn't anything particularly memorable. For dessert, we ordered the ginger carrot cake, and the restaurant was kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert, which was such a nice touch! The complimentary dessert was an ube-style dessert, and it was fantastic. Honestly, both desserts were delicious. DRINKS: I ordered the Lychee Simoy cocktail, which was really good. We also shared the espresso martini flight, which came with three flavors: traditional, ube, and chocolate chili. Surprisingly, the chocolate chili was my favorite, while the ube was my least favorite. That said, I enjoyed all three and thought the flight was a fun way to try different flavors. SERVICE: Our waiter was great! He was attentive and gave us great recommendations. It was also so kind of him to give us a complimentary dessert. Overall, I had another great experience at Sunda and will definitely be back! I really enjoy how their food feels unique and creative while still maintaining those familiar Asian flavors.

I remember coming here a long time ago, and was happy that the flavors have kept up after all this time. I had gotten the Soft Shell Crab Sushi Burrito for my meal as a soft shell crab enthusiast. I liked the extreme crunch with each bite from the tempura flakes on the outside, the fried crab, and vegetables inside. The flavors were nice with the crab and sauce, and a creamy avocado is always welcome in my sushi! I did feel like the messiest person ever, since the outer crunch was flying everywhere each time I peeled the wrapper or took a bite. I also wasn't much of a fan of the jalapeños and felt like their flavor was quite distracting and different that I had to look back at the menu to figure out what was throwing me off. Perhaps another option without the jalapeños next time. My girlfriend got the Shrimp Tempura and Salmon Wafu Sushi Tacos for her meal. These bites were fun and flavorful and quite filling! The sauce and toppings added some extra oomph that made it special even if it was just a different form of a sushi roll. She liked the Salmon Wafu more, as the tempura itself felt pretty standard and like some more rice was needed. The salmon was nice and fresh and was cut into nice big chunks before being covered in some tasty sauce. I had also gotten the Strawberry Lemonade and was pleasantly surprised with their lil concoction. It was just some of their own stuff mixed into some soda, but still a nice a refreshing drink. Quite a yummy spot with a lot more options for us to choose from, so I'm looking forward to another visit! It was great to see that these different forms aren't just a gimmick and that they have some good flavors to them. They also have poke bowls, so that may also be on my list for next time!
