I only tried their sweets but they were very unique and good. I got the ceylon snickerdoodle and Macau rice crisp. The ceylon snickerdoodle is a soft cookie with a slight crunch on the edges and has a salty egg yolk filling. The filling tasted like a paste version of an egg yolk center of a mooncake - this was a fun concept for a cookie! The Macau rice crisp was another fusion hit, albeit a tad too sweet for me with the caramel sauce. The flavors all work together shockingly well though. Note: if you're doing a pickup order, the main door isn't open at certain hours and it can be a little confusing, but there is a designated pickup door to the side. I think this should be communicated clearer as another customer was having the same issue. read more

We honestly don't even remember how we found this place, but we decided to stop by on our way to the Balloon Museum. We arrived around noon on a Sunday, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet--we were the only two customers. We ordered the stir-fried lo mein, sesame sauce noodles, char siu bun, and egg tarts. The lo mein was unfortunately far too salty, while the sesame sauce noodles were better, though the noodle texture was a bit unusual. The char siu bun was a pleasant surprise, with flavorful, well-cooked pork, and the egg tart ended up being the highlight of the meal with its flaky crust and creamy filling. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly, but one thing to note is that this area was extremely difficult to get an Uber from afterward. The Half Charcoal Chicken was by far the best of the bunch. It was succulent, spicy, the charcoal came through, and paired so well with the coconut rice. The funny part is that it is spicier than the Spicy Smoky Chicken Fried Rice. The fried rice was just okay. It wasn't super flavorful but everything was cooked well. It was our first time trying the Chicken Curry Hand Pie and we were pleasantly surprised. I'm sure it's much better in store because it wasn't as crispy as it looked. I don't really leave reviews but this was genuinely a bad experience and I wanted to leave a review because I am out $30 after a completely unfulfilling meal. I got the minced soy sauce beef noodle and it was legitimately bad. The beef tasted like slightly elevated Taco Bell beef and the rice noodles were unbelievably bland and did not taste good. There was just no unity in the dish and the ratios were completely off. The corn and jalapeño fritters were pretty good but also kind of bland. I got the coffee cookie and somehow that was also extremely dry and lacking good flavor. Such a reliable spot! I've been a handful of times and they always have quick service and delicious food. They have great deals for 2 if you want to go with someone else and try lots of things: a vegan option and a chicken option. Both are under $50 and include 3-4 dishes and a dessert, enough for 2 people. A really great deal! I particularly love their corn jalapeño fritters, covered in a spicy honey, so tasty! Their tofu curry is a great vegetarian dish, filling and flavorful with a coconut rice. Also a big fan of their cocktails, especially the lady bird, a tasty mezcal drink. Food is ordered via QR code at the table, but they do give out printed menus as well. Water and utensils are self serve. Second was the charcoal half chicken. The coconut rice was had a light coconut flavor which was good bc it didnt alter the taste of the chicken. I'd skip on the salad and minced beef noodles next time. The noodles were a lil too thick n chewy for me. Salad was nothings special, just eating large chunks of cabbage. The Sparrow Mallorc was also really good and refreshing, not overly sweet. The egg tarts had a creamy delicious custard and the dough was fluffy like a croissant, not crisp like pie. I prefer crisp but would still recommend. I also got the chai carrot cake which is really good. The chai spice compliments the sweetness well and walnut chunks add nice texture . I want to try all their desserts at Bird Bird Bakery bc the flavors are so unique and actually really good, unlike other bakeries that try to use interesting flavors but make it overly sweet. The staff were chill and kind. Pretty laid back, you have to get your own utensils and water. I do love that they have their own hot sauces. The brown one with tamarind was my favorite. Pork & Ginger Dumplings are clearly house-made and some of the best dumplings you'll ever find with great texture and flavors. Char Siu is great and works very well in the Char Siu Bun. And the Egg Tarts are amazing with perfect texture and custardy goodness, my wife prefers a bit less "char" but that's what you get with a nice wood-fired oven and these remind me of the best Portuguese Egg Tarts I've ever had. Noodle dishes have been hit or miss for me and the Charcoal Chicken is good, but I could eat the Dumplings, Char Siu Bun, and Egg Tarts every day of the week and never get tired of them. We ordered the vegan dinner for two, plus the sangria and the malort drink. The sangria was yummy and not too sweet. I loved the malort drink too, with the grapefruit and cinnamon. The vegan dinner was soooo good. I did the math and you save like $8 ish by ordering the meal vs everything separate. Basically you get the dessert for free, which I think is worth it because the mochi was amazing. You get two appetizers, the cabbage salad and the fritters. The sauce the fritters came with was amazing! The chili noodles were my favorite. The noodles are made in house and they're huge, and the spicy peanut sauce is to die for. I've been wanting to stop in at NoodleBird for a while now. I'm not sure exactly wha to really think of this place. Upon entering they greet you and invite you to grab a table. You could order at the counter or order on your phone at your table. They have a station where you can grab your utensils, napkins and water. They do take the food to your table though. I'm honestly not a big fan of this type of set up. It seems like a lot of places are doing this now. We ordered their Char Siu BBQ Heritage Pork. The pork was marinated in a Cantonese style bbq sauce, and grilled over charcoal. It was served with coconut rice, and a charred scallion. The pork was very flavorful. I'm a big rice guy and I have to say I was excited this coconut rice and was really disappointed. It was dry, boring and lacked flavor. I got a hint of coconut, but a huge miss on this rice. Don't think I would order this again. We also ordered their Pork & Ginger Dumplings. These were amazingly delicious. The dumplings were filled with Berkshire pork, and served with a very tasty garlic soy sauce, Sichuan chili-garlic oil, mushrooms and scallions. I would ordered these again and again. Came here and had some pretty good casual Asian food. It's good for a few drinks and of course noodles. NoodleBird also has more on the menu including rice. Fun atmosphere that's good in the middle of the day or late. The prices are pretty good on most things. Basically this area has a lot of Mexican places but this is one of the few that are Asian. I heard about it and we thought to check it out. This isn't some dumpy place as it might have appeared from the outside, but rather it has a casual hip atmosphere with a large bar pricing most of the seating. Got seated at the bar and scanned the codes. There's a pretty good cocktails list. It's about $12 for a cocktail. The Jungle Bird was a good one. It's a tropical flavor. This is made with Demerara syrup, house made wild citrus liqueur, lime, pineapple, and rum. As far as the food, it was noodles of course. We got the House Made Hand Rolled Fat Rice Noodles. It's $10 for a bowl. This vegetarian item includes smoked shiitake mushroom chili crisps and steamed chili peanuts. Good stuff to drink and eat. If you like noodles then for sure come and get some. NoodleBird is a solid choice. We stumbled upon it while in the neighborhood and very hungry, and I was very excited to give it a try. I had high expectations given the Fat Rice pedigree, but I left a little disappointed. The space is fun, and if it had been a little cooler we would have taken a spot on the patio. You can order at the register or through their website using the QR code on the table. Service was pretty fast and very friendly. We had the pork dumplings, pork noodles, and a pair of egg custard tarts to go. Portions for the noodles and dumplings were pretty generous for the price. We generally enjoyed both dishes, but came away wanting a little more flavor and complexity. We needed to take advantage of their house hot sauces to add some dimension to the dishes. Egg custard tarts are a rare treat, so I was especially excited - but they were not as crispy as I hoped, and the custard was a little too savory for my personal taste. Though, to be fair, some crispness might have been lost in transit, so they might be much better eaten on the spot. I would return to NoodleBird, especially to have some of the more interesting looking specials (sold out when we were there) and cocktails. However, I wouldn't make a special trip. I expected to really like NoodleBird but was disappointed. Pork & ginger dumplings Very good. Lots of flavor, tasty sauce a the bottom. I love dumplings... who doesn't? Girlfriend got a non-alcoholic drink that she liked Ginger cabbage salad Super lame. The cabbage was cut into big pieces as opposed to shredded. Because of this, there wasn't enough surface area for the thin dressing to cling to it. The dressing just dripped off, so you're just eating a big bowl of rough-chopped cabbage. The dressing was tasty but either it needs to be thicker or the cabbage needs to be shredded so they'll stay together. Fat noodles with minced beef The noodles were good, they were fat and enjoyable, but overwhelmed the beef by a long shot. They had no flavor, and any sauce just dripped off of them so you're just eating a mouthful of plan noodles. The flavor of the beef was good but there was way too many noodles for that little beef. Somehow you need to get flavor to stick to those noodles and that didn't happen. Ambiance was good. We sat at the bar. The waiter was nice but after not coming back for a while we ordered at the counter, no prob, it was busy. A little on the loud side for me, but not a big deal. I don't plan to go back. read more

It's a small place so they have bar seating and a few small tables. You can order either at the register or via QR code. Everything is pretty much self-service as far as placing your order, getting water and utensils. We ordered the spicy smokey chicken fried rice and the special lamb noodles. Both dishes were a bit disappointing. The fried rice had no spice and no flavor. I was expecting more of a traditional fried rice feel and taste. The unbelievable hot sauce is not spicy at all and doesn't have a taste. The lamb noodles were full of peppercorn flavor that makes your tongue tingly and numb. Customer service was good, but the food didn't meet our expectations. I don't believe I will return to try other items on the menu. read more
