You can read my previous review about the Ambiance but we came back because of the food FOR DINNER this time. The food is exquisite and this time also, like the previous time, the service was outstanding. Here is what we got for dinner: * Nui Acai Bowl: My wife got this and it looked beautiful. * Rob Machado Acai: My younger son got this and it was super tasty. * Loco Moco: My older son and I got the Loco Moco - I got it over hard and he got it as the chef makes it... The food was outstanding! We can't wait to come back on another holiday and visit again.

Best Top 10 brunch in my lists for Hawaii. Woke up early cause usually there will be a line wrapped up around the building from first floor up to the second floor. My favorite two entrees here is the loco mocos and eggs crab cake benedicts. Everything they serve here is fresh and made in house. Not a single dish here disappoints. Coffee( kona hot coffee) is a joy to sip.

Dang, it was an hour wait for breakfast at even 8am but it was worth it! We ordered the kalua pork benedict and substituted the kale salad for pineapple, French toast, and goofy omelet. Not one complaint from any of the food eaters. Their little biscuit bread... tender pork, light bbq sauce was AMAZING. I was not a big fan of the purple potatoes only bc I'm not fan of the sweetness. If you like sweet potatoes, you'll be fine. It's an island feeling type of spot so it was friendly and not formal at all. We loved breakfast so much we will be coming back for lunch during our visit here!

Stayed at the Ilikai a block away and this came highly recommended for their loco mocos. So early in the AM, before check out... our team of 5 walked over and were the first ones on the list. At exactly 7AM, we were seated. We got a few of their loco mocos. $24 for a huge beef patty, 2 eggs, brown rice, and a very rich and delicious special gravy. It is pretty expensive but it is a decent sized serving - good to share between 2. We got a big side of bacon, some smoothies, and the OKINAWAN SWEET PURPLE POTATO. In caps because it was that good. Lol. Love the ambiance of the cafe, we got seated by a window so that made it feel like we were having bfast at someone's house. Nice place to have bfast, their gravy is what makes their loco moco different than other places. When we left, the line was out the door and down the stairs. Highly recommend going first thing in the morning.

This was the first breakfast spot my group tried, and of course everyone had to order the loco moco. The gravy was a little different from others I've had, but in the best way -- super flavorful and delicious. The Kona coffee hit the spot, and the French toast was also really tasty. Definitely a great way to start the day. Service was welcoming, helpful, and very fast (which I appreciated because I was starving ). Seating is a bit limited, but the space feels nice and cozy. One person in my group mentioned there's usually a line when he visits, but we lucked out this time -- no wait at all! Overall, a great breakfast experience and I'd happily come back.

Came here again in March 2026 after a visit in Feb 2017, and it has not changed too much when I look back at it. Food and drinks were great, and service was fun. There can be a bit of a wait during high time as seating is limited, but they have a sign in sheet at the front, and even with 4 people ahead of us, probably about 15 minutes at most? Service was good, and the ambiance is fun and enjoyable overall. It overlooks Ala Moana Blvd so you get to enjoy your food, drink, and people watch all at the same time. My only gripe was my husband's pesto pasta was probably not as traditionally pesto flavored as we would like--heavier on the pine nuts and less on the basil/herb side of things (and a little runny)

The food: abundant. We shared all three items and loved everything we had. Such fresh flavor and amazing service. Our server was super helpful and the entire vibe of the place was great. There was a bit of a wait to get a table at 10:30 on a Saturday (about 30 min) so go early if you have a bigger group! Highly recommend what we ordered for vegans!

Enjoy uniquely Hawaiian entrees, appetizers, and beverages for breakfast and lunch, made with fresh local ingredients. This place is a little hidden but you need to FIND IT! Get upstairs, find the waiting list put your name on it and listen for your name being called like waiting for a game show. It is cute two sections (two tables by the bar) then the rest of the seating has the open shutters to look outside. We were sat in the section by the bar, so we watched food come OUT. I got the Kailua pork eggs benedict served with Okianawan purple potatoes, fresh kale salad and Tropical Iced Tea! Both were so good!!! OUr service was outstanding, he was so nice to keep checking if we wanted fresh ice teas TO GO. Yes, please!

This little gem was a great find. We came on a Wednesday and there was a wait list. We waited about 20 minutes. Let me tell you, it's worth the wait! We ordered a bottle of champagne with fresh guava juice. I ordered the Hawaiian Omelette and hubby ordered the kuala pork Benedict. Both dishes were incredible. We both ate our entire meal. The omelette has eggs, cheese, mushrooms, avocado and Portuguese sausage. Made with a homeade English muffin that was delicious. You get a side salad with homemade dressing. The Benedict was a great balance of sweet and savory. The purple potatoes were a pleasant surprise of flavor that was delicious.

It's not often I get to the popular visitor spots in Waikiki, and know I've eaten here many years ago. Thanks for friends visiting, I gave them some recommendations we could all walk to and those chose Goofy's. It was fun to play visitor that morning and we had a great time. It's located near the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hale Koa, so it's a great one for couples and families visiting. It's convenient to walk to as well; parking I'm unsure if it'd be worth it. It's upstairs near other stores along Ala Moana, they have an elevator for access. When you arrive you put your name on the sheet, they have some benches for waiting until they call your name. It's such a cute spot with various sized tables, some with benches and pillows. They also have a place for strollers if you're traveling with little ones. It's a pleasant view of busy Ala Moana Blvd below. They have a great selection of island favorites, lots of egg dishes and fruits. Their coffee was also excellent, strong and dark. I opted for the breakfast burrito with salsa and loved how tasty and filling it was. Prices here are also reasonable, if maybe a little high for the area. I recommend this place for breakfast or brunch if you're nearby.

In my quest for the best Loco Moco I think I may have found it. In a modest place on the second floor was the Goofy Cafe. It's a smaller place with limited seating located at the start of Waikiki. It has the vibe of a local house in Hawaii. I was seated quickly and ordered Loco Moco ASAP. The waitress was excellent. Then I saw it.....the Loco Moco I've been searching for. 2 eggs, 2 hamburger patties on a bed of rice and surrounded by a moat of delicious gravy. The way they made it a rectangle worked perfect. Every bite was a mixture of all of the goodness. I added some Kalia pork too. I wish they had a side of spam to add. That would have made it an 11 out of 10.

    Bomb scramble, eggs to perfection!!!

The customer service here was outstanding!! SCOTT thanks for your fun vibe!!! The food was amazing, coffee was perfect, fruit tray super fresh, french toast so yummy!!!

Waitlist: they don't take reservations. We showed up at 9am on a Sunday and waited about 15 min. It went fast Ambiance: super cute 2nd floor view. Very casual Food: my husband and I shared the cinnamon pineapple French toast and the egg, cheese avocado omelette (minus the sausage) and a side of bacon. He got a virgin Bloody Mary and I got coffee. It was all superb. I've never had better French toast in my life. The skillet was perfectly cooked!!

Ask the Community - Goofy Cafe & Dine

Are there gluten-free options or modifications?

Yes, they did offer gluten free options.

Is there breakfast all day or do they have a dinner only menu?

They have breakfast until they close at 2:00 p.m. and then open a dinner menu without breakfast at dinner time

Will they charge to the Hilton Hawaiian Village?

No. Is not part of the hotel.

Are you open as of 2Aug? No answer on phone....

Closed during pandemic, Yelp hours are inaccurate

Do they validate parking? Tries to eat here the other day but parking at the garage underneath was $8/30 min

They don't but you can park in the lots near the lagoon and it's very reasonable. About a 5 minute walk from there.

    Is there free internet?

(Through sobs of sadness) nope :(

    Does this restaurant take reservations?

1st come, 1st serve from what I remember. If you go before 10am. The wait won't be as long as it would be later in the morn.

Little overdue of a review but here we go lol…read more. Diners has been a staple for my family & I , and I'm sure many other families on island for YEARS. Our family's go to was always Cheeseburger and yellow sauce with fries! As time and society evolved , so did Diners, since they became "Upscale" and added more things to their menu. I have tried their Grilled lobster plate more than once from their Upscale menu in the past and I think during that time it was $15? Not sure if it's still that price, but for that price it was a winner! Lobster + salad and rice ? What more can you ask for since that's basically a steal in today's economy. Anyway , I was in the area recently and decided on diners for dinner. I was really craving ahi katsu, unfortunately my go to spot was already closed since I decided on dinner a little after 8pm ish? So I thought .. well diners has ahi katsu supposedly .. why not give it a try. I wasn't expecting much since it was Diner's BUT needless to say.. their ahi katsu is DELICIOUS. Seasoned well and cooked to perfection! I love the sauce they drizzle on the katsu. I should've asked for extra sauce on the side had I known it was gonna be yummy! But that's something to keep note of on my next visit in the future. I definitely would order this plate again! And continue to adventure out on their menu lol. A tip to keep in mind : they do have signs posted by their windows to be patient when ordering because they do take a bit to make and give you your order since they are always short staffed. And there's normally alot of people waiting or ordering since lots come to this establishment right after work or in between work or just simply there for a bite to grab. So prepare to wait .. but sometimes you can be lucky where it doesn't take as long. It does truly depend on time and the day I guess. Also one last thing, my personal opinion , I think Diners is worth grabbing food from. Whether you're hungry , in the area or wanting to grind. Some people have mixed reviews or bad experiences but me personally , I always had a good outcome. Oh also before I forget their steak is delicious too (LOL) , never ordered it for myself but I shared some of it with one of my relatives who ordered their steak before. Give this place a shot!
