Liliha Bakery is on the top floor of the International Marketplace (gorgeous seating areas, feels like you're at the treetop level). The bakery is modern and very beautiful with an outdoor patio. We stopped by to take some pastries to go. Their cream puffs are popular so we tried both the green tea and coco puffs. The green tea cream puff was light and airy. The perfect mix of sweet cream with a hint of salt. The coco puff was a classic chocolate cream puff, but nothing that special. We also tried one of their mochi bites which was the perfect chewy texture. The one item that I wouldn't recommend was the lilikoi malasada. I'm not sure if we got an older malasada, but the breading tasted like a dry cake donut. The filling tasted nothing of lilikoi unfortunately. Wouldn't recommend as compared to other malasada spots in Waikiki. Overall would come again for the cream puffs and possibly to try one of their breakfast dishes.

We came as a large group of 16 people for brunch on our last day on the Island. A few days before my daughter and I stopped to buy some pastries to go and both times we went the place was packed! They serve complimentary bread while you wait for your orders and OMG that bread was to die for with their housemate jelly/spread. The Smoked pineapple pork belly I ordered had a bit of a kick but since the flavors were good I ate it all up. Their Mac salad is quite refreshing and the burger was extraordinary. My drink was the best! I could drink a whole pitcher of it in one sitting if it was bottomless refills! So refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend coming here but come early as the lines get crazy. On the flip side, if you get hungry while you wait, you can always sample their pastries which are all pretty darn good as well.

The food was alright, I'd come back to try more pastries from their bakery. I enjoyed the plantation ice tea, that was really pleasant and refreshing. The staff were really friendly. As for the baked goods, I loved the poi donut and poi mochi.

Good place to eat at for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Has a decent amount of items to choose from on their menu. The coconut malasada was so good! It was soft and had a good amount of filing. I really enjoyed the Hawaiian BLT. It caught my eye on the menu because it had pineapple in the sandwich. I had to remove the sprouts because it was too much for me. The bread was like a croissant, but it wasn't flaky. It was soft and didn't get soggy. The Mahi Mahi plate was good too, not much to say about it. Wish the corn that came with it was crunchy! Our server was nice and friendly. The restaurant had patio and indoor eating. We chose to eat out on the patio because it made us feel like we were in a diner inside.

After our bakery hopping adventure, we stopped by Halekulani Bakery since we were still craving more pastries after only having two at our previous spot. The display looked very appealing, so we picked several items: Green Tea Croissant, Dubai Chocolate Croissant, Coconut Danish, Dubai Chocolate Coco Puff, and Guava Cream Cheese Strudel. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. All of the pastries were overwhelmingly sweet to the point that it was difficult to taste the individual flavors. Everything had a similar sugary profile, which took away from what should have been distinct items. The texture and freshness were also lacking. The pastries were soft in a soggy way rather than light and flaky. They tasted like pre-made pastries you might find packaged at a grocery store rather than freshly baked. Overall, we did not enjoy the experience and ended up not finishing some of the items because they were too sweet. :(

Just for your reference, Jamie W and I went to the original Liliha Bakery in Kalihi for the very first time on our recent trip to Honolulu (review: https://yelp.to/2QcWi9AoBZ). We definitely gravitated to the old-school vibe of big local plates on that long counter, but what really drew us in were their signature Coco Puffs. Those were delicious, so much so that a couple of days later, we made a point of coming here. So it was no surprise this place has a far more tourist-centric vibe since it's one of several restaurants on the crowded third floor terrace of the International Market Place. Skipping the restaurant, we hovered in front of the bakery display case. We weakened and bought four $3.19 Coco Puffs to go (Photo 6). Delectable chocolate-filled cream puffs topped with chantilly frosting. Easily devoured. FOOD - 4 stars...it's about the puffs...don't judge us! AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...oh look, there's a dining room with tables and chairs SERVICE - 4 stars...they were quick TOTAL - 4 stars...did I mention the coco puffs? RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? We visited here very early breakfast and there wasn't a wait! This was maybe about 8AM and there were plenty of tables available. Most people were sitting outside in the patio. We had the rolls to start off with along with their signature jam? It was very nice! Most of us also ordered their signature loco moco, and a fried chicken plate, and mac nut waffles. The portions are pretty huge! It's very filling and I honestly was only able to eat half of it. The loco moco was very nice, although I wish the gravy was a bit more flavorful, but it was pretty decent overall. The fried chicken was also pretty nice, very crispy! It's a solid brunch place, very spacious. Pretty convenient spot on the strip.

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Honolulu! Their Loco Moco with fried rice is tasty and on point. Their burger patty is pretty thick with a nice charred taste. The garlic fried rice pairs beautifully with both the steak and gravy. Just pour some Tabasco for some extra heat and vinegar taste. My favorite though, is their Mac Nut Waffard!! The Mac nut waffle with creamy custard is a hit. These are unique and one of the best breakfast items I've ever had, hands down. The custard is house made, thick, creamy and rich. The best custard you'll taste. I want to go back just for this item alone. Don't forget their complimentary butter bread with guava jelly! These are buttery and fluffy. They have some crisp around the edges too with a nice sugary crystal bite. These are also unique and addictive. Be careful because you can get full with just these! We will definitely come back again!

Both of these were incredible !!

Highly recommend! I had to get a loco moco while back on the rock, and I'm so glad we did at Liliha Bakery. Snagged a pastry and donut along with a solid breakfast during my stay. Reasonably priced in this area. The staff were phenomenal on both visits. The vibe was cool and restaurant was very crisp and clean. 5/5. Mahalo ~

Still one of my favorite breakfasts in all of Hawaii. Stopped back into the Waiks location this morning for a double stack of pancakes and a Denver omelette. Honestly, these pancakes make me downright weepy. Liliha has perfected their batter. It's malty and sweet, and cooks up light and fluffy in the middle. And the gang on the grill know how to fire these things so the outer rim gets a nice little crust while the inside stays cakey. Coffee and water stayed full the whole time. And be sure to snoop the baked goods out front. Take home a sack of Liliha's world famous coco puffs!

NGL, I wasn't expecting to give this location a 5/5 just bc it's their new location on the strip and... iykyk with how these things normally go. BUT, yooo location, staff, good, vibes.. everything was gas. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was at this location. Their oxtail soup *chef's kiss* . Their prime rib, golllyyy. The guava iced tea itself was a bangahhh. Maybe I shoulda added some alc to that just to complete the meal but shoooot this dinner was 15/10 yall.

Liliha Bakery is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm on Oahu. It's one of those places that always feels comforting and reliable, whether you're coming for bakery items or a full meal. I ordered the prime rib cooked medium, and it was really good tender, juicy, and cooked just right. It's a great option if you're craving something hearty. My mom ordered the oxtail soup, which is one of their well-known dishes. It was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor the kind of dish that really hits the spot. My sister got the steak and shrimp, also cooked medium, and it was another solid choice. The steak was cooked nicely and paired well with the shrimp, making it a satisfying surf-and-turf style plate. Overall, Liliha Bakery never disappoints. Between the comforting local dishes and the nostalgic vibe, it's always a place I make sure to visit whenever I'm back on Oahu.

We ordered the short ribs, lobster appetizer, hamachi crudo and lastly sashimi moriawase to finish food palate. Lukki lemon dessert was great way to end to night. Ordered the Milk tea bouquet cocktail while my better half had water ( either way the food coma knock him out cold the rest of the night lol). To be honest, it was difficult to determine which dish was the best because the staff kept quality there despite it being busy every night since they announce the closure. Sashimi moriawase, fish was so fresh, reminded me of my time spent in Hokkaido and Sapporo. Short ribs was soft and rich in flavor. Both me and my fiance liked the lukki lemon dessert, like lemon meringue pie but broken down version. If you have a chance to dine here before closing and got a reservation, definitely will have a lovely dining experience and your stomach will be full by end of the night.

Husband and I tried Nami Kaze in our recent trip to Hawaii. This place is huge! I was so glad to be…read moreseated in the side room because I found it to be a lot calmer, less people and no TV. The staff were friendly and very helpful with giving us recommendations. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees, and honestly it was too much food for us. We had leftovers for breakfast the next day! - For appetizers we got: Ulu Tots, Japanese Eggplant, and Corn Beignets. The Corn Beignets was the best. - For entree we got: Tomato Miso Black Cod and the Short Rib. Both were delicious and worth a try. Sad to see that this restaurant appears to be closing.
