Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNETHICAL!!!!!!!! I have been here 3 times to inquire about tires, brakes, and a squealing belt in the last 6 months (I live around the corner ) . The front desk and mechanics are different every time! Complete turnover. When quoted for tires, they said that unless I bought 4 new tires (which I did not need) they would not do it. Then they quoted me for a brake job for $950 - told them I did not need rotors (just pads) and thye said they would not do it without giving me new rotors (without looking at the car). I had the job done at Mavic for $350! Next: I had a belt squealing and asked for a price quote to repair it. His response (Grey-haired older scraggly guy ) was with that many miles on the car (over 300K) I won't touch it! What the hell kind of response was that ? Won't work on cars with a certain mileage. Today I had a nail removed from my Tesla rear tire at the Goodyear Service Center in Clark, NJ. I have been going here for over 27 years. This morning, I was greeted in one of the most personable and professional ways by one of the service agents "Dane". I would like to commend Dane for his excellent interaction, great communication and going above and beyond what is expected for a customer. I have never seen him before at the Clark location but I feel he is an asset to your company. These guys are the best! My dealer claimed that my CRV had an "oil leak", and I needed to schedule a service appointment. I took it to Goodyear, guess what the "leak" was?? Honda installed my oil filter wrong! Now I only use Goodyear for all my auto repair/maintenance needs. read more

This place used to be so great a few years ago. What happened to Sue? She was honest and I even tested one of their estimates against another trusted mechanic I know back in my home town--very close! I was happy with them for many years. They would even offer to drive me home so I wouldn't have to wait. That hasn't happened for a long time. Now I have had my car back 4 times over the past year for the same issue-- it is still not fixed!. Each time there are additional recommendations and "upgrades" that are clearly not necessary or even desirable in some cases. The guys are not friendly and I do think they take advantage of people if they are in a tough situation. A friend of mine also had a negative experience here so I do wonder if it is directed more at women--although in reading some of the previous reviews the men are not satisfied either. Just generally a bad experience, and getting worse. Now I need to find another place to take my car! Ugh! read more

Left the car here to get a flat fixed (nail in tire) on a Sunday (only went here at all because we needed the car for Monday morning) and they told us that the tire had to be replaced and since the other tires were bald (they're not) they all had to be replaced or they wouldn't touch the flat. WTF?! They said they would replace all four for $800+. Crazytown. No thanks! The cherry on top of this disaster: when we go to pick up the car they took 15 mins to give us the keys back. read more

2nd time here. Made a 10am appt. At 1:20pm saw car still in lot. I was informed it was on lift. Was told they were backed up and it would be another 45min. If you value your time, don't go here.. What do they schedule appointments if they don't honor them? I made an appointment on their website and the site said it should take roughly an hour. Ok. Waiting an hour while the car gets it's oil changed and tires rotated isn't bad and are least I wouldn't have to get a ride from someone or uber. When I got there and told them I had an appointment they still said it would take about 2 to 3 hours before they could get to my car! What? Imagine making a haircut appointment and they expected you to wait 3 hours? The whole purpose of making an appointment is so that you are seen and taken care of at that time. It's an oil change. It should take 15 minutes. If you can do it at the time an appointment is made for then don't offer appointments. Why would anyone wait around 3 hours for an oil change or pay for an Uber while my car sits there? Tell me when you're ready to work on my car and I will bring it then... Hence an appointment. Better off going to a quickie lube place. They do your car when you get there. Usually no wait and you don't even have to get out of the car. The only reason I was going to try good year was the free tire rotation. Never going there again. read more

I've been here a few times and they're great. My starter went today, and I brought it to them at 12:30 without calling ahead. They gave me a price with labor on the spot. At 3:30 they called to say it was done, and they were able to get the part for $50 less than what they originally quoted me. They have great quality parts and fast service. read more

My experience at Goodyear in Clark was a "Bait & switch" ~ learned our lesson a long time ago & have never returned!

Twice I have used the Clark Goodyear Service Center and both times very disappointed. The first time was with my Ford Mustang. I received a excessively quote of $600, for a very simple problem. I ended up going to a local repair and the problem was solved with a replacement bolt that was missing. Cost for service only $65. Second time i was for my Saab. I went for just an oil change, tire rotation & fluids check; I drove out happy. As soon as I got on the road less than 5 minutes I was hearing a grinding noise on my right front tire. I called them right away and took t he car back. That's when they told me that my CV strut (or something similar) needed replacing. Quoted $1200 for the repair. The car was fine before they looked at it. I took it to my local Firestone repair shop in Hackensack, NJ and they were great. Fixed the same day and cost was only $780. I really believe they caused the problem. I will not go back to this Clark, NJ Goodyear ever. I see it has happened to others on this review board. CUSTOMER BEWARE! read more

Best service I've gotten when it comes to my car. Usually going anywhere else I feel services being pushed on me. But not here! Before coming, I called and spoke to Al, who was very patient and answered all my questions in detail, to get an estimate to get my tires and rear shocks done. After discussing with him the time constraint I would have to get it done, I made an appointment. Dropped it off at 8am and was able to pick it up at 3pm. While my car was there I got a call to inform me that my breaks would also be recommended to be replaced, I declined for now and did not feel pressured at all. My car also had a knocking noise that was persistent and they were able to see my car another day and figure out the issue within an hour. Definitely a returning client and could not be more happy with the service and the tech! read more

I have been coming to Goodyear for tire fixes and oil changes. Although it is convenient, I don't think I'll come back. I took my car in a few weeks ago for an oil change, and they did not put a sticker on my windshield with the reminder to change the oil, which should be a standard procedure. I also was very disappointed when the man working there told me I needed new spark plugs and they would be a few hundred dollars. He was very pushy and trying to get me to make an appointment to have the work done. I thought it seemed sketchy so when I took my car into the BMW dealer, I asked if they could replace the spark plugs and they said it was not necessary. I will not come back specifically because they recommended work that was not necessary, how can I trust that what they recommend is necessary from now on? Update: They scammed my mom into 600 dollars of tires that she didn't need. This place deserves 0 stars and should be shut down. read more

There is not the best place to do your tires plus they give a price for the tires and toll you to come back for the alignment because they don't have a mechanic and when your there they charge you more then 80 dollars read more

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I've been here twice...this time I came in for an oil change and it was a very unpleasant conversation. TONY is a misogynistic jerk. He asked if I wanted synthetic oil. I said 'no, I want regular motor oil...like I got last time.' Instead of listening to what I said, he tried to schedule me for the 'high mileage oil.' Thankfully I'm not as dumb as he expected and I called him out on trying to give me something I didn't ask for. He then accused me of being 'cheap' and not wanting what is best for my car. Who is he to tell me what I want for my car? His unsolicited, rude opinion was condescending and clearly targeting me because he thought he could make a woman believe him and get a higher sale. I doubt he would have spoken to a man like that. I'll be calling Goodyear corporate regarding this because he should not be working there and trying to screw over other customers. read more

Almost didn't want to leave this good review after all the bad ones but I guess I'll share my good experience. Brought a tire to Goodyear on a Friday afternoon to be patched after having a bad experience at STS in Rahway. The guy at the counter was pleasant, took my information and met me by the garage doors to take the wheel. I asked how much it would cost so that I could bring cash the next day and he sort of waved me off like "don't worry about it". He called me an hour later to pick up my tire but I couldn't get back until the following morning. As he said, there was no balance due when I picked up the patched tire. To me this is a good business move not charging for something that small and getting a return customer. I recently purchased a used truck that will need tires in a few months and I planned on using Goodyear, but honestly I'm a little hesitant after these other reviews. read more

My experiences here have been pretty bad. The worst was when I needed my car horn fixed. I had gotten the car used, and the horn sounded pretty weak from the start, so when the horn stopped working and I brought it in to be fixed, I asked if I could get a better sounding horn. The guy smiled, shook his head no, and was like no way. When I got the bill, I was immediately angry because there was a $100 fee for a diagnostic procedure on the horn. I don't know much about automobiles, but I could tell this was a bogus fee. When I asked about it, and I was like gimme a break this is crazy, I was told that modern cars are very complicated and difficult to deal with, and I was basically told that it was very difficult to work on the car, so I shouldn't complain about the price. There's more to the horn saga, but suffice it to say that when it stopped working again, I brought the car in to a good mechanic who told me that the horn was wired up incorrectly and that there was a piece of a rubber glove stuck in the wiring, and that the horn was very old. The new replacement horn sounds much better, and it wasn't even very expensive. Another bad experience I had was that they told me that they could drive me to work (less than 10 minutes away) if I dropped my car off in the morning. Well, I brought in the car in the morning, asked about the ride to work and was told that they couldn't do it. In addition, when I needed a new tire, the price they told me was obviously too much, so I just got my tire elsewhere. All in all, I recommend avoiding this place. 1st time customer here. Wish I could give less then 1 star. Booked an appointment online through the website. I wanted their fully syn oil change with tire rotation special they had on their corp website. I know with my vehicle, there is usually and up charge for the 6th quart and the oil filter. I engaged the chat feature on the website asked the rep for a total price with these up charges. I received my confirmation with the total price right in the email that he had quoted me in the chat. I arrived at the shop at my scheduled time. Went up to the counter, and the guy at the counter came back with a different price, and additional $12. I showed him the confirmation email with the total price from the customer service agent. We questioned me about the validity of the email. Told me he doesn't know who this Jerry person is, and doesn't know why he would price it like that. He wanted me to call this jerry person back on my phone, I said to him, how can I call him back, he's a customer service person for your company and works in a call center. You should be able to pull this up in your system, as there is a confirmation number right on the email. He told me he wouldn't give me the quoted price and there was nothing he could do. Went in after owning a used BMW for a year or so to get a new set of tires. I work in the area and drive past them every week. They had a deal where if you purchase four new tires at full price, they would give you a free alignment. When I asked about this when purchasing the tires, the guy told me I was crazy. He then quoted me just over $1000 for the four tires, which were $140 each. He told me it's cause of the charges for putting them on, balancing, and alignment. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous and told him I didn't ask him to do an alignment. He got mad at me and told me it had to be done. So I told him to just give me the tires and I'd take it elsewhere, to Newark where they will put it on and balance for $30-$50. He told me "yeah whatever you get what you pay for"... and I did! I got a full 2-3 years now on those tires and will be replacing them soon, but of course not at this place. A bunch of a-holes who try to up sell everything. They do great work. What I want to alert people to is that any rebate debit card you get from Goodyear unbelievably comes with an expiration date. I admit I didn't even notice an expiration date. It also has a time penalty of like 100 days after expiration in order to even try to convince them to make it good. Failing that timetable I just through their rebate card in the garbage. DO NOT take your car there on weekends...the office manager actually told my husband NOT to bring them on the weekend because their are no tec's in the place. My husband brought his car there for wheel balance and an alignment but SOMEHOW ended up with a broken CV boot..they burned a hole in it but insisted they DID NOT use a torch..which they did. He then brought it back the following day when he saw grease leaking from the area..had words with the manager. she proceeded to argue with him who knows what he is doing with cars..just could not do his own wheel balance and alignment since he does not have that equipment. They agreed to fix it so he let them..5 days later his car was still pulling to the left very badly as if it was NEVER realigned..brought it to another place near his work..now his car is driving straight again. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE! YOU ARE TAKING YOUR LIFE IN YOUR HANDS! I brought a flat tire to this place, they put a new tire on the rim and I was satisfied. The clerk offered to put the wheel on the vehicle free of charge, so I said OK. I assumed a GOOD YEAR knew how to put on a tire, silly me. A few days later, I'm driving 30 mph, and the wheel FELL OFF THE TRUCK!! The tire busted up the body of my truck, and the truck skid on the rotor for about 100 feet. They claimed they repaired the rotor, however after I inspected the wheel, I realized that they simply put the wheel back on the truck, no further repairs. And they refused to pay for the body damage. If I had been driving on the highway, I could have been killed. read more

I entered goodyear at 9:55am (I had a pre-made 10am appt that I had walked in and made the day before) and needed an oil change as well as a tire alignment (the tire alignment was paid previously) . The front desk guy proceeds to try and change me full price ($34.95) plus $2.50 for some other nonsense fee plus tax for a whopping total of $42.96 for 1 oil change. Taking advantage much??? I showed him the coupon for $5 off and he acts like he's never seen it before. Really, it's been on the website all year and it's December now. Even $38 is too much but this place is close to my house. After waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, I walked up to the desk to ask about the progress. It's a Monday morning, I had an appt and the services I needed would take less then 30 min to complete. At 1 hour and 20 minutes without a word from the front desk; I think I had been patient enough. Not only had they not touched my car but when I asked the person behind the desk why they hadn't started my car he angrily looked up from his computer (like I was BOTHERING him) and proceeded to tell me that they were busy and others were ahead of me. Others? There were 2 men in the waiting room with me--- 1 which came after me. Perhaps if I had been a man, my car would have been done? Not to mention the fact that your people skills must be so far down the toilet that you can't open your mouth to tell a customer the following sentence : hi customer, sorry for the delay, would you like to continue waiting or reschedule? This sentence should have been delivered at the 30 minute wait mark. So after a wasted hour and 20 minutes, I took my car and Did NOT get my oil change. I have a job and don't have hours and hours to wait on 1 oil change while others get serviced ahead of me. These people are crooks with poor customer service skills. If there was a way to give them zero stars I would! I used to take my car here all the time until I went to the dealership and it was cheaper and they did not try and constantly rip me off. Every time I came here they would try and sell me everything under the sun! My car was three years old and there was a rattle from the exhaust they said I needed a whole new exhaust system and it was rotted out went to Lexus dealership and the heat shield came lose due to a recent snowstorm driving in deep snow. These criminals told me I needed a whole new exhaust system from the engine back not even the cat back! I tell anyone and everyone I know that ever mentions then to never go there! They would also try and hard sell items while my car was on the lift, one time I even had to scream at the service writer to get my car down. I am not surprised they are at one star with 10+ reviews. had a car towed in with a flat tire---before tire even removed I get a phone call that tire is no good because it looks like it was driven on flat----tire went flat in front of house..only driving on it was put on truck....after complaining that didnt even check to see if tire could be fixed--he told me would check----later he talks to the wife and charges $40 to fix a damn flat----MAVIS Tire on ST Georges Ave in Rahway will be new go to place---fixing a flat there is 14.95-19.95 depending on tire size.
