I took my car there because the battery light came on and the mechanic immediately told me it was my alternator without looking under the hood (I should have left then) and after looking under my car for 3 mins and calling me from the office to explain that again, I needed an alternator, I declined and was proceeding proceeding to leave but immediately could not turn my steering wheel. WARNING My car was almost a total loss because of them! The screw wasn't tight properly and all the oil spilled out while I was on the highway more than hour from home. I had to pay for the towing to take me home and now they refuse to reimburse the cost of it. I was stuck for 3h on busy highway with small kids on 90 degrees temperature. I've been coming here for years.. it's quick, efficient and they hand wash your car. No machines. Only grip I have on this place is that they do a terrible job drying the car. Lots of spots.. and it's expensive. For the gold it's 24.95, basic is 9.95 They still do their job tho. They also have a oil change place here too and you get a free basic wash with that. Waiting room is cool, has a massage chair and air freshners. Don't expect the front desk girls to smile.. good luck. Pay and go! read more

One girl with the black hoody sporty look was on her phone yapping all day. They don't ask you any details or even tell you the price. My oil change for simple 5W30 are way overpriced compared to commercial car maintenance. They tell every customer they need an engine flush. Even when you had one last week. Stupid idiots! Ugh. This must not be my weekend. I joined many people in the herd mentality today that took place at this car wash today and jumped on the line. The line was long and wasn't moving that fast but it's a hand car wash so I assume this was because the extra attention to detail that was being paid to each car. Just like most of us I did the whole clean the car before you hand it over to the car wash thing to make sure that nothing I need gets tossed out. When it was my turn to jump out the car I specified which wash I wanted, the cheapest full service package, and in good salesman fashion the guy asked me if I'm sure I didn't want a pricier package. I rejected and moved on to the area where you can see the wash happening. I wasn't in the mood to watch my car go through this process as I've seen it time and time again. So I checkout, using my $5 off my wash Yelp check-in offer, enjoyed a 3 minute massage chair for $1 and then proceeded to go get my car. Well when I got to the car I was instantly disappointed. The vaccum job was subpar as I immediately saw crumbs still on the seats. It also didn't seem as if they vacuumed underneath the seats. The exterior of the car had white streaks all over and the windshield still had dirt on it. Of course I took pics which you can see to back this up. On the second day of volunteering to help my homegirl's mom move, I found myself needing to occupy my time and mind and decided that my baby needed a car wash. Across from a CVS where I stopped to grab a bottle of 9.5 pH water I saw a line of cars at Speedy Lube and took this as a sign that the locals were to be trusted. Not so. I pulled. While at the back of the line I hopped out and removed some items in my passenger and back seats to the trunk. When the line progressed a man with a note pad recorded my request for the GOLD (as displayed on the long wall of service options). He tore off a receipt and handed it to me. I followed the line of proud parents to the long hall preceding the waiting area. I watched them vacuum and wipe my interior then pull my car up for the first rinse, followed by the white then blue shampoos. A few hop ins and hop outs and then a mini argument...It appeared the latino gentlemen was telling the Haitian gentleman to pull the car up through the rinse but the Haitian gentlemen didn't think that was most appropriate. That exchange lasted for all of 3 minutes before my car eventually pushed forward. I went to the front and found several people sitting in the waiting area for what were likely oil changes. Although I was almost due for one, I only trust my car to the lovely folks at my local Meineke :) I paid for my Gold service ($22 if I recall correctly) and perused the wall of scented car trees....Never any Morning Glory, I guess I'll order a case off Amazon. Anyway, I exited through what is the front entrance and walked around to the side of the building where my car was. I watched a young man armorall my tires with what appeared to be a rags tied to a toilet bowl brush :/ out of a jug with some dirty grey sudsy liquid. Hey, I wasn't expecting them to you use Gotham Brand Batmobile tire polish for high heat vehicles. It was fine. He asked for my ticket, I added a tip to the bucket of tips and looked at my vehicle. It was mediocre. Not bad, but not awe-inspiring. I'm accustomed to the results of a full detail (a la my car conscious dad) but hey, it was a nice day and my baby was shining. A few beads of water remained so not much attention to detail there but I'm still not complaining. I did appreciate that while my car was being hand-washed that a man held onto my rain guards to ensure that they weren't being knocked around. I don't frequent this area at all so I wouldn't have been back anyway but I guess I don't have a problem telling someone that I went there and didn't experience any noteworthy issues. read more

I visited Speedy Lube in Linden for an oil change and tire rotation on March 12, 2024. I was hesitant as I had heard that they try and sell you other services using scare tactics. The service technician calls me over and shows me a small pan sitting under the front bumper of my car and says this is your engine oil, it is very dirty and needs to be changed or it can cause damage to your car - an $80-$100 dollar service, I refused the engine flush and continued with the requested service and told them I would return for a flow up oil change. I then researched the engine flush and Speedy Lube and it is not necessary for 99 % of the cars on the road. It may be necessary for an auto that has not been driven for months or perhaps for a vehicle that makes many stops such as delivery vehicles. It appears as though they are in the business of "quick turn around" of automobiles And a quick buck. They will not see me there EVER AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE ! read more

Awesome that I got a $5 off car wash but not without some challenge. The owner (woman) told me that it's only for oil change not car wash when the coupon clearly indicates car wash too. The other owner (man) says that he needs to take that down as if he was annoyed that he had to give me $5 off and that yelp incorrectly put that coupon there. Obviously others have used it without problems before based on the reviews. Super overpriced. I thought paying a little extra ~$5 would be worth the additional "under chassis" wash, which by the way was a JOKE (check out photo) and the coat of wax. I also had the extra spray wax which was hand sprayed and sold to me by the guy at the beginning of the line. My total came out to $28 (including the $10 spray protectant). I still feel ripped off even with the $5 coupon. You'd expect that the car will come out sparklingly? It was meh. This review is for the car wash. My previous car was a lowered 350z (sportscar) and the reason I used to go here was because it is one of the few places where you don't have to put your wheel on the ramp and put it in neutral. Since my 350z was lowered it would scrape or get caught in those ramps. Anyway, after I sold my 350z and bought an Infiniti, I continued to go here because I liked that it was a hand car wash. However, due to my experiences the last few months, I will NOT be going here anymore. I have several reasons I will NOT be going anymore, but my main reason is because of the greedy moron you first see when you pull up to the car wash. I used to bring each of our 3 cars here at least 3x times a month, and each time I always ask for a Basic wash, which is an exterior wash and vacuum. Everytime, this greedy moron will try to upsell me wax and tire shine and when I refuse, he ALWAYS gives me a disgusting look or an attitude! Mind you, I refuse his tire shine a d wax everytime because I'd rather give the $3 as tip for the crew! I have a ton of tire shine I my garage that I bought for $5 at Wal-Mart, if I refuse, why the dumb attitude? But today was when I had enough of this greedy moron... I told him the basic exterior wash and vaccuum as usual for $8.50. When I asked him to also vacuum the trunk, he said it would be am extra $2.. LOLOL! That's where I cursed him out and told myself I had enough of this place. From now on, I'll be taking our cars to Posh Car Wash down the street next to Burger King. I've already gone twice and not only was my car very clean, but I didn't have to deal with any morons either. Not just that, but it's also cheaper ($5) and you can vacuum the inside yourself for $1. Not reliable at all. Came in for oil change, the mechanic opened the hood and a few minutes later made up a story that filters and oils need to he changed since car is 3 years old. The vehicle has under 15k miles. They did a horrible job the oil was leaking. Took it back to my usual mechanic and they left the bolt loose on purpose. Avoid them at all cost!! read more

Every time I come here, I'm always having to show them spots they miss in my car. Crumbs near the clutch, tray not wiped, screen dusty. We pay for your service, pay attention! On to the great service I received, I came in for carpet cleaning and within 2 days my carpet was smelling. I came back to to tell them that the water wasn't sucked out properly because it wasn't drying properly. He manager decides to wash it and dry it again. When I put my hand on the ground, it wasn't dry, it was SOAKED, more than it was originally. I spoke to the guy who actually does the carpet cleaning and he said he would get the manager because he didn't really speak English. After 15 minutes the manager decided that washing a car would be a lot better than fixing our issue. 2 other workers came to us expressing that they understood and how i should speak to wait but the manager seemed to not care. Did I mention that the manager didn't speak English too well. Wtf!! We finally went to the English speaking receptionist and he told us the actual manager wasn't here and proceeded by giving us his number. We didn't even bother, I think I would've ripped him to shreds, and wanted to use my time a little better. I took it elsewhere. I had the mind to dispute the charges with my bank. We paid 50.00 for no reason! This place is just TERRIBLE! What a joke. Brought my mother's car just for an oil change, didn't want anything else done. Had some guy telling me the car with 26500 on it needed an engine flush and a new air filter. I know what an upsell is, I know an air filter doesn't cost $40, I know what color my oil is supposed to be, and I know that an engine flush is NOT part of recommended maintenance for most cars, let alone a car with under 50k on the odometer. I laughed in the guys face when he told me the list of the "problems" with the car - the car was just at the dealership a month before for a recall check. The ONLY positive was a fast oil change. But to deal with this nonsense I'll just bring it somewhere else, I don't need somebody possibly damaging my vehicle looking for "issues." read more

STAY AWAY. This place is MAJOR rip off. I usually go to my local service station to get an oil change/ basic services but they were booked. I was close to my oil change expiration mileage (5,000 miles) so I decided to check out Speedy Lube since I was in the area. I asked for the synthetic oil service which was $80. My car was taken into the bay area for service. I was walked into the service area by two African Men (from Africa). Keep in mind walking a non-employee into the bay area of "repair shop" is an insurance violation because of the oils, fluids in the ground and possible slip and fall instances. I was told that my car needed to have many additional services (engine clean, transmission flush, gear box oil service, air filters replacements, exhaust system service) totaling over $450. I was also made to believe that my gear box oil was empty and that the oil needed to be replaced ASAP or that my drive would seize. This was NOT true. My car is a 2010 Lexus with only 38,000 miles, the owner's manual explicitly states not to replace the transmission fluid because it's a sealed transmission. I didn't need an engine clean, the oil was slightly dirty which is why we replace the oil. I accepted some of the services and declined some of the services. My total bill was $350, after I was given a "discount" by the "mechanics". The next day, I had my car inspected by my local shop to ensure that they did do the proper service. As per my regular, trustworthy mechanic of over 20 years I was sold, offered services that I did not need and that were not completed. I was ripped off. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau this week. read more

So it's now 3 days since I got my dad's car detailed here and the carpets are still a bit damp. It was cold and rainy the first day but it's been hot and sunny since! Every time I get into the car it is super humid and it's starting to be a bit smelly. I just don't believe they should have left my car as wet as they did. I think someone took a shortcut. Brought my girlfriend's car here because I didn't have time to change her oil. They have a coupon on the website suggesting synthetic oil changes start at "$40". By the time you get there and get charges like $15 for a "special filter" (almost all new cars have canister filters at this point...you're an oil change place, really?) and have them try to offer you every other service they have it's $90 and you might wish you'd did it yourself. Said the oil was dark and tried to offer me an engine flush for $200. Literally showed me the bottle of detergent they use and said it takes 20 minutes. How in the hell would that be worth $200? For $15 cleaner and 20 minutes of labor? I'm not putting this on the mechanics, as the guy helping me was very honest and it seemed like he was just trained to do so. I felt like every service he offered me it was like he was talking through his teeth because the cameras/his boss were watching him. I know how these places are. Luckily though, this is redeemed by a "free hand car wash" that you get with an oil change. Car wash was mediocre, at the end kept getting pushed along with the guy saying it's done while it was still clearly soaked. I kept insisting it was soaked almost to the point I just took the towel from his hand and dried it myself but if I felt like doing any of it that day I wouldn't have been there. Doesn't look really any better now but at least they gave it a half ass interior clean. I'm giving it 3 stars because at the end of the day I never expected much from any spot that does oil and washes, it was just the only thing open past 5pm and I was lazy. Stay away! This place costs about $20 for a wash and wax. The "hand wash" is terrible. They really don't even wash the car. Rather, they go over it a few times with the sponge mitts and do not really remove any of the tougher dirt from the exterior of the vehicle. When I complained that I paid $20 (which is not a cheap car wash) and guy just wiped my front bumper twice and did not remove any if the grime, I was at least given a free rewash immediately. I went in there for a basic oil check as well and then I was brought into their working area and told that my Transmission, Radiator, Engine, all need to be flushed or else my there is no point in having a synthetic oil as it basically sits on slug!!. I come here for the ease of convenience when getting an oil change and the car wash that goes with, albeit not the best car wash. My only gripe is the amount of upselling that I endure. I don't very much enjoy the constant "you need to flush the whole motor" that comes with EVERY oil change on a car with 30k miles. The oil is changed religiously here at 3k miles. This place is absolutely horrible. I spend 100's of dollars every time i come here for my Cadillac for this or that. Every time I go there the CAR WASH rush u in and rush you out. They never dry the cars off properly. I paid extra for armorol on the tires. They rushed me out so quick I didn't notice they never even put armorol on the tires.
